Kaffe O in Belfast

Modern, trendy and a great flatwhite with good milk and good depth of flavour. Sorrento ham and cheese croissant was lovely and just enough for a quick breakfast treat.

Sitting in Kaffe-o at the moment enjoying a great black coffee, hot & strong, just like it should be. And the fresh plain croissant that I’m enjoying with it is also just perfect. I’m only here for a week, but I’ll be back!

Good coffee. Good food. But environmentally awful. Even though we were sitting in, we had to have paper cups and paper bags. 🤔

Really nothing to get excited about.....won't be rushing back. Overpriced sandwich and coffee. Minimal menu.

Unhelpful and not very accommodating. I didn't realise beforehand that you had to queue at the counter, with no table service. I have chronic pain, am disabled, with poor mobility. I have difficulty standing upright long and difficulty walking. I tried to make staff aware of this but didn't seem to care and wouldn't make any accommodations. Offered no help or support. I know that's the rules they have but surely if a customer has health problems exceptions could be made. If I was still able bodied like I was a few years ago it wouldn't bother me but unfortunately I'm not. A customer was helpful and let me ahead, unlike the staff. The food was nice but service could have been a lot better. Not a good way to treat disabled customers. No explanation was offered or apology given. Very aloof and lacking empathy.

I visited this cafe today with my parents, both of whom have visible physical disabilities and my 15 year old who has a more hidden disability which includes sensory sensitivities. The order/collection process is one I am familiar with, having visited before. I brought my parents and child in a cubicle whilst I went to the front to order. Two male members of staff spoke to each other about my parents and child, not realising I was with them "They think we are going to come over to them but they will soon realise they have to come up here", whilst laughing and showing complete disregard for age or disability. When making my order, the female employee seemed very stressed and struggled to hear my order through perspex plastic and masks. Her frustration grew as Ishe instructed me to clear our own table after finishing our meal. I advised that the customers before us must not have realised and our table needed cleared. "I suppose I'm going to have to do it then", she stated. I cleared my family's table and the female employer came to she clean the table with spray, her manner rude and brisk. I returned to the collection point to get our food yet it was filled with an open bag of bread and paper work. I returned to my table where my child was crying due to the loud noise in a very tight space. The coffee grinder was constantly grinding. All in all, I paid £25.00 to endure rude staff, clear my own table twice and rush our food so that my parents and child could leave. I will avoid and would recommend an alternative cafe if you want a friendly, relaxed and private experience. Covid restrictions and sanitation seemed to have robbed Kaffe-o of compassion, respect amd manners. Businesses do not exist without their customers and moving forward, it is important that you keep this in mind.

I went in for a coffee to find out that non-dairy milks are 60p extra. If you’re lactose intolerant or are vegan, I would choose a different coffee place.

Called in for 2 takeaway coffees & a caramel square to Ormeau branch. Lady who served me really couldn't be bothered, unfriendly & poor communication. She should leave if it's that much of a chore for her. This bad customer service experience is becoming a too regular occurrence for me in this branch, it is genuinely putting me off going back there. Coffee also tasted different to the usually great kaffe o flavour, not sure if a dud batch of beans or something else. Was passable but definitely not as good as before.

I visit the Ormeau road shop a lot as I like the coffee. I live near by. The baristas are all friendly but the brunette manager (who wears her own clothes not uniform) is NOT. My heart sinks when I see she is on duty. She never smiles or shows any interest and barely says thank you when you pay. I have also witnessed her being rude to customers on occasions. An observation KaffeO need to be aware of.

Visited today with my 75 year old mother.Was very disappointed rude staff shouted all down the street they don't do table service. Some staff not wearing masks inside. Rude staff lets the cafe down. Won't be back.

I really like Kaffe O, the food and coffee offerings are really good and the ambience in the place is usually very nice too, makes it a really nice place to be, the sort that we make a point of going to for a treat. Service is usually OK but there is sometimes a feeling that the staff come across as a little too cool to be genuinely warm to customers, not always by any means just sometimes. The coffee is excellent and that is always one of the big draws for me personally, the food is all up there but it can seem like its at the higher end, not unreasonable for the quality at all, just pointing out its a higher end cafe as opposed to a quick bite kinda place. Currently with Corona still stalking the land they have made every effort to ensure the cafe is a safe space and customers are well looked after.

I loooved the coffee in this little place, I'll definitely be back. It took a long time for our order to come and we had to remind the barista of what we ordered, but that can happen when it's busy! The crumbly oat bar my hubby had was delicious (and maybe healthy? lol). Would definetly recommend!

Good location near Ormeau Park and an ideal place to meet friends for coffee as we did. I was impressed by the modern decor and nice range of food on the menu. Poor greeting just ushered to side and told they would get to us. Late coffee was not very tasteful. Bland.

Just called in for a takeaway coffee and had the worst customer service ever, approached the counter and no "hello" or any type of greeting from the young male barista, this in itself wouldn't have bothered me but it was the complete lack of customer service that followed, no "thank you" or anything else, complete silence during the whole transaction. This has put me off visiting again and would recommend retraining for certain members of staff.

5/5 for the flat white - still consistently good with the best flavour profile from all flat white coffees I have tried in Belfast. Overall 4/5 rating due to some of the staff in more recent times in the Ormeau location being rather 'too kool...

The quality of the KaffeeO Flat Whites is excellent and the additional options of caramel squares or cookies makes this a very welcoming place for a catch up chat or a business review.
