21 Social in Belfast

One of the worst nightclubs I've ever been in. Service is absolutely abysmal - the bar staff are utterly clueless and the rude dark haired bar supervisor has no idea what she is doing. Even the bouncers admitted she was a nightmare to work with. On top of this my friend had his jacket stolen, avoid this place at all costs.

Got free passes into the club so was hoping for a great night. Only good thing about the place was the music. Bar staff where rude as F**K and didn’t care about leaving you waiting 10-15 mins in a que. Was my birthday & this was an end of the night stop & I will not be retuning.

Ryan is the hostess with the mostess, he accommodated us with everything we needed, I could not rate the Thirsty goat better because of ryan !!! (Belfast thirsty goat)

Came here for pre dinner drinks. You’re not allowed in any pubs in Belfast unless you’re eating a meal. Luckily it wasn’t raining so we sat outside. The staff cleaned the barrel tables and seats and were very helpful and polite. The only reason I gave 4* was because the door lady wasn’t very friendly at all! She made us feel uncomfortable

So disappointed with what could have been a fabulous night. After paying £150 for 15 of us to get in and have a “free drink” we went to our reserved area, all was fine until a stupid amount of people were let in to Make the bar 5 deep! We queued for over half an hour to get served but to our disappointment we couldn’t even get close to the bar, we gave up and left. The lady on the cash till was nice enough and said she would pass on the details and looked at the counter to see how many people were in there and even she was shocked at how busy it was...but still Continued to let people enter! Such a waste of money and you can imagine the amount on money that would of been spent, after we left we found another bar where we didn’t have to wait for drinks and was better than our first choice. I would avoid this place and wouldn’t return every for a “free” drink!

Went in the other Saturday ,got a table and order a drink but were then told the kitchen was closed.The place was busy but it was a Saturday afternoon.Went back on a Tuesday evening 5.00pm ,place half empty ,got a table ordered a drink and asked for a menu ,2 other couples came in after us and sat at tables around us.Waiter came and told us that he could not take our order as there were people waiting for tables at this time there were 4 empty tables.The other couples were told the same a 30 minute + wait before they could take orders.

Always have a great night here. Never a big queue and the music is always great . Big fan of the place

There was an offer on groupon for 21 Social so we got it as it is a place we havent been in years so thought we would give it a go Very disapointed and wont be back The place has lost its magic....poor decor...bad service...and i can see why the offer was on groupon... Disapointed

Only been to the bar a handful of times but each time I go I’m ignored by all the bar staff, people were coming and going as I was stood at the bar and still I was ignored, and if I spoke up about being ignored I was accused of being abusive toward staff?? All staff members are too young and only care about serving the young good looking customers!! These two visits have been the same and I refuse to visit the establishment again

Went here for Christmas dinner with work promised free entry into 21 social but it wasn’t free it was £7 including cloakroom Then went I left I was told my ticket didn’t match the ticket on my coat had to show photographic evidence that it was my coat and wait 15-20 minutes before doorman would give my coat back Also was accused of shouting which I wasn’t but music was so loud I had to speak loudly. This experience has caused me great distress and won’t be advising anyone to go there or thirsty goat in near future Also good wasn’t worth £30 better food in Kraków half the price Accoustic guitarist was good tho

Really nice atmosphere with live music all day on Sunday. No sports screens which was fantastic! Great food at reasonable prices. Will definitely be back.

Visited here for dinner. The table layout to sit and have food is awful. Long tables squeezed into booths. Myself and husband had to sit facing another couple as we ordered and ate our meal. We may as well have been in the same party. Food was poor. Not somewhere I would be hurrying back to.

We walked past the courtyard for The Thirsty Goat a couple times before finally deciding to go in. It's in a nice part of Belfast, with a few others places to eat and drink all within walking distance. The courtyard can get pretty crowded, which meant a bit of a wait at the bar. However, they had live music with a good singer singing oldies that got the rest of the courtyard singing to. There's something magical about drinking with the ones you love, singing to great songs, and the bar around you signing along. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews, but most of them seem to deal with the food. We didn't eat, but instead we drank, sang, and had a good time in the courtyard, and it was one of the best experiences we had in Dublin. We actually left to find another place to drink, and ended up just coming back!

We decided to try the Thirsty Goat for Lunch as we regularly Watch the music in the courtyard and we Extremely Disappointed . I ordered the mince pie and it tasted as if there was a full Container of salt in it. The Pie was that salty i was unable to finish it and needed lots of water for the rest of the day . My partner got the Chicken Burger and there was like a smoked weird tasty of it so we just paid the bill and left . I would avoid this place as it simply has not got the food right but Entertainment is Always Good .

I was enjoying some drinks on a trip to Belfast with my wife , as I was heading to the bar for another drink the group playing started into a Republican Song 'Sean O'Farrell'.

The courtyard at The Thirsty Goat was packed and the live music was GOOD as we walked place looking for another place to visit on our first night in Belfast. The pull was strong and we gave in...worth it!

We have just eaten at this authentic Irish bar which was recommended by our hotel. Outside it said it was only open until 8, and by the time we entered it was already 7.35. However, they found us a table and we had a lovely dinner accompanied by a great guy playing the guitar. The food was really good - huge portions. I had a southern fried chicken burger and my husband had the chicken curry - served with soda bread! People were still coming in well past 8pm. It's just a pity it doesn't stay open later. I would highly recommend this place which is tucked away down a back street near Belfast Cathedral.

Went to what is now called the Thirsty Goat for drinks with lots of friends, the drinks were not too expensive and they had a range of wines, ciders and beers as well as spirits. Good outside seating area and live music added to the atmosphere. Went inside to get a drink as outside was quite busy and the decor was dated and atmosphere dead so I'd recommend sitting outside.

Went for lunch with my parents today. My Mum had Irish Stew which was partial cold, I have scampi and chips, it was an insult to prawns to call it scampi as there was very little in the way of scampi, mostly batter. My dad had a starter which was just ok. Staff seem indifferent. Over inflated prices for what we got. Not good quality food at all

I went to the Thirsty Goat for dinner with a disabled friend of mine and we were initially ignored by all the staff. When I spoke to the waitress she cut me off very rudely and walked past me to go serve other tables. We sat down for around 10 - 15 minutes and were expecting to be served but none of the staff appeared willing to come anywhere near us. All the staff seemed to like to be behind the bar and not out serving customers. Upon asking at the bar, we were told that food was only served at certain tables - there was nothing to indicate which tables were food-only tables. We went and sat at another table. After another 10 or so minutes we were finally handed menus. We were not even offered a drink. After another 10 - 15 minutes and with no sign of any of the waiting staff we decided that we had had enough and got up and left. This was a terrible experience for my disabled friend. I would not recommend this bar at all. There are plenty of other bars and restaurants nearby - we went a little further and found a much better place at Restaurant 44 in Hill Street.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and ordered 3 pints and they were all off

It was a lovely day, so sat in the outside bar of the Thirsty Goat for drinks. However as they charge £1.85 for a small bottle of soda water, 3 drinks came to £18.90! Service was very slow too. Didn't go back.

Nothing flash, just decent grub for a decent price. Modern, minimalist decor, relaxed atmosphere, great service. We both enjoyed our visit and we would come again. Thank you.

Came here as a couple on a recommendation. I had been here for a few drinks in the evening before and went for Sunday lunch today. Really good variety of food to choose from and I simply couldn’t have asked for better. Probably one of the best meals I’ve had in Belfast! Had tomato and sweet pepper soup for starter and a roast beef dinner for main. My partner had cheesy garlic soda and the boxty. Both left totally full - generous portion sizes. 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 drinks for £36. And to top it off - a live acoustic singer for lovely background ambience. I’ll be back!

Called to rest my aching legs after traipsing around the City for a few hours. Good speedy service from friendly staff.

Visiting for a few days and were told to give her a try and we are very pleased we did. Arrived here to see it was busy and was greeted by a very helpful member of staff called "Gerry" explained there might be a wait but it shouldn't be to long. Got seated within 15mins.

Staff are very unwelcoming, inside was way too many people, it took forever to get a drink. We left and went to one of the many better bars in the area.

We ate downstairs in The Thirsty Goat. This bar could easily have more tables and chairs than it does so there is plenty of room within the premises. The menu has an interesting selection and the specials added to the choice. Apart from the hearty and tasty food there was also music on offer with the guitarist being quite entertaining. We thought this was a pretty good venue for our last meal in Belfast before heading northwards along the Causeway Coastal Route tomorrow,

Me dijeron que no podía reservar una cabina en un viernes por la noche, pero si me dieron 10 ish debe ser bien, cosa que hicimos, y el personal nos señaló en la dirección correcta - dieron un stand para nuestro grupo y tuvimos una gran noche. Had a few drinks in here on a Saturday night and found staff very helpful, returned on Sunday afternoon for lunch and order a Sunday roast, it arrived quickly on a hot plate with very tasty veg, roast potatoes, beautiful mash and the roast beef simply fell apart when you showed it a fork ! Honestly the best lunch I’ve ever had, staff were very attentive and professional, in my eyes it was perfect.

We just popped in on the off chance of getting a much needed Sunday Lunch, we were in last night just drinking and noticed the food looked fab so today when we were dying for a Sunday lunch called in asked for a roast beef dinner, they did not fail us it was tremendous.

Had an amazing night at 21 social good club with great music. Only downfall is that is closes too early. We then returned to the thirsty goat for food which was amazing huge portions for your money and tasted great. Staff were lovely and so helpful

No había habitación interior así que el bar al aire libre nos aprovechamos de calentadores de techo y un bar que era menos ocupados. La única desventaja de nuestra visita fue la presencia de una goma que parecían borrachos daba la intención de toparse con nosotros en cada oportunidad posible. Me sorprende que el personal de la puerta, que parecía estar alerta en la mayoría de otras maneras, no mostrar esta persona hacia la salida.

Called in here for food and cocktails on the recommendation of a friend but came away extremely disappointed. Arrived around 2pm and place was deserted (even for a Monday). Setting nice enough - although absolutely freezing - so tried to order some cocktails... Didn't have the ingredients for either of our first two choices (lol) so ended up relying on the barman to come up with one for us. To be fair this was good - if somewhat sweet - but the mojitos which followed it verged on the undrinkable. So sour, it was an effort to get them down. As for the food, starters of nachos were excellent, wings very good also, but the 'Cajun chicken stirfry' was honestly one of the poorest mains I think I've ever eaten. 4-5 slices of anaemic chicken (which appeared to have been microwaved) dusted with what I presume was Cajun seasoning over a bed of what can only be described as half noodle/half cabbage. Totally lacking any flavour or seasoning and with a horrid slimy texture to it, absolutely vile. We should have sent them back to be fair but by this stage we were eager just to leave. Wouldn't even consider returning.

My friends and I were on a hen party and decided to book into a club with a booth so we could leave our coats, get a seat from dancing etc.

Arrived at Thirsty Goat at 12.55, ordered a drink and then proceeded to ask for Menu to order lunch, only to be told Kitchen was closed as there were too many orders to be dealt with and a table of 16 was due in. My first thought, SERIOUSLY, its lunchtime, surely the kitchen should be able to support a lunchtime rush, will not be back, walked over to Cloth Ear and were served without any problem.

Ora si chiama "The Thirsty Goat", ed è un pub piuttosto esteso con spazi interni ed esterni dove ogni sera si esibiscono diversi artisti live. Anche d'inverno gli artisti si esibiscono in un'area all'aperto, ma ci sono diverse lampade a calore che scaldano l'ambiente circostante. Se volete bere una birra in allegria e ascoltare musica pop/folk/blues contemporanea (dipende dalle serate, ovviamente), è il posto giusto.

I visited The Thirsty Goat on Boxing Night, the door man took a firm look at two of the men in our group why I am unsure but anyways...slow service at the bar little staff on & time consuming cocktails being made someone should be doing these while others are serving others then two guys were lifting chairs threatening to throw them, banging into people yet no door men came in until various people left feeling intimidated then finally 4 bouncers came into remove them!

We went out for an office Christmas lunch and really enjoyed it! Lovely location, great service and delicious food!

Fuimos a la cabra de la sed por una Navidad con unos compañeros de trabajo y aunque no creo que sea justo juzgar un bar/restaurante basada en su almuerzo de Navidad me pareció que era bastante mediocre y mal entregado. Una vez la comida estaba demasiado nos trasladamos a la segunda planta que estaba frío y ambiente serias carencias. El nuevo bar no parece una gran mejora en lo que había antes, aunque el jardín de la cerveza es excelente, es una ventaja definitiva, incluso si los precios del alcohol son caros incluso en precios de Belfast. . .

Called on a busy Saturday evening...place was packed at 6pm. Told we could have an hour to wait for a table which we were happy to do, but were seated in 10 minutes. Ordered chicken strips and chips and got large portions of delicious food with a choice of dip. Had no room for dessert so will have to revisit. Staff were very friendly and helpful

I would Not recommend this nightclub. We Went last night - witnessed 5 fights in under 20mins- no bouncers or security to be seen , very understaffed. The nightclub seemed to be very rough.

Este pub restaurante se ha modernizado el 21 grupo social y ahora se llama La cabra tenga sed. Hay un ambiente agradable dentro y un razonable, menú de precio moderado. Teníamos estofado irlandés, que estaba muy sabroso. En la actualidad, sólo sirven comida hasta las 7 pm, lo cual es ridículo, ya que están perdiendo mucho potencial comercial. Mientras la comida puede ser deliciosa, no se puede decir lo mismo acerca de la cerveza. La Guinness tenía un extraño sabor terroso de atrás. Es sacrilegio para conseguir una mala pinta de Guinness en Irlanda. Es una cerveza que es coherente en todo el mundo. La pinta de Sullivan's que siguió, era incluso peor y nos fuimos las tres cuartas partes de cada. El vidrio es proclamado mejor proyecto galardonado con ale en el mundo. "Este había sido juzgada por alguien que presumiblemente no sé que una buena ale, si se cayó en una piscina de tamaño olímpico lleno de ella.

Mi amigo tenía un cupón para probar este lugar y reservó una mesa para nosotros y nos dijeron que la cocina estaba cerrada y nuestra reserva no debería haber sido tomada por esa noche. Nos aseguraron que aunque el cupón fue acercándose a la fecha de expiración sería respetada y la persona que dijo que era un gerente escribió para ese efecto. Sin embargo, cuando llamamos a reservar una noche alternativa nos dijeron que no aceptaban el billete y reserva. No me impresionó!

Comer aquí el domingo de Pascua. Check out el menú en línea y reservar con antelación. Tenía otra hora en el menú fuera antes fuimos a nuestra decepción tenían un menú totalmente diferente dentro y era bastante limitado en comparación con el menú anunciado. Tanto mi esposa y yo pedimos pescado y patatas fritas y fue muy agradable. Sin embargo, la comida de los niños era otro asunto. Salchichas y puré estaban baratas, cóctel de salchichas y recocido. Hamburguesa hamburguesa llegó en un queso seco, no solicitado y en general como parecía extremadamente seco. Es una pena, ya que el lugar tenía un ambiente agradable con música en vivo, pero es otro ejemplo de restaurantes comidas de calidad pobre por la borda a los niños.

I was part of a large group of 20 girls on a big night out at the weekend. We got a great deal for 2 course meal, night club entry, VIP area, reserved table and a bottle of spirits and mixer for the table. Our 2 course meal was delicious and the service was exemplary - Maeve waited on our table- and it was no easy task with a crowd of girls who had been drinking all day -some in worse states than others ;) The atmosphere was fantastic with a really relaxed, chic vibe in the restaurant and great music in the restaurant/ bottom floor and in both of the other floors of the club. It was a great night out and I couldn't recommend highly enough for food and a few nice cocktails before moving on to any of the nearby bars in the popular cathedral quarter, or a big night out with the girls :0)

I too was a member of the hen party referred to below and have to say this was far from my experience. The service, food and treatment of the guests was second to none. I have since recommended this place to friends. The staff in 21 social were professional at every point and the hen party were aware of the door policy and the rules. All other 20 girls adhered to that and respected the staff and had a brilliant night. Perfect venue, fantastic food, great atmosphere and highly recommended. I too am a 40 year old and felt a valued respected customer. 5 stars all the way.

Went to this place as part of a hen party, before we had even got to our tables I could see a female member of staff behind the bar pointing at us and in a loud and angry tone made it quite plain she did not want us there. May I add we were not loud or being in any way disrespectful. As I was going outside for a smoke three male guys had stopped me and asked were we were from and we had a bit of a laugh, these guys were having food and I had said I was starving and they offered me a chip which I accepted. A few minutes later myself and friend went to the bar to order a drink and the same member of staff refused myself and another girl drink as she said I was stealing food REALLY !!!!!. The guys had informed her this was untrue but she still refused me. I was not drunk in any way even though it was a hen party. We were all heading to the nightclub after food but I was told I would not be served there either, I left the premises and paid quite a lot of money to get home. I am 40 years old and have never been refused drink and certainly wasn't sitting there to be refused. Disgusted is an understatement and will never be back.

Had a groupon so went there this afternoon. Food was nice, steak was very good, if a little cold. The pepper sauce was a little watery but was also nice.They had 2 guys singing on guitars and they were fab, completely made the meal.Well worth the groupon price and we will return.

Called here for pre theatre meal. Had not booked but made table up for us. Menu was not very big but good range of choices. I had the steak, partner had the pork fillet. Both cooked to perfection with really tasty sides. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Good location in Cathedral Quarter. Certainly would go back.

I've recently returned from an afternoon/evening in your upstairs bar watching the England/Wales rugby match. It was completely freezing despite us sitting in front of the screen, we ended up putting on our coats to watch the match! At half time we decided to order snacks as advertised on the table £9.00 for three items. Unfortunately these weren't available as there was an event downstairs! This event and the fact we couldn't order food wasn't advertised any where We then went to the bar to order a drink from the fairly extensive gin bar menu to be told that actually only three of the options were available upstairs despite being again advertised on the table! Our experience over all was cold, with absolutely no snack option (not even crisps behind the bar) and mega false advertising around a gin bar!

I have never been so cold inside in my life! We went to the upstairs bar to watch rugby and the door to outside was wide open. It was freezing outside. Really expensive and uncomfortable. May have been the time we went there though.

We booked a table 2 weeks prior to attending, we arrived 20 minutes early and were offered our table or a seat at the bar . The food ordered was excellent,the staff were attentive but not leaning on you during the meal,the restaurant was very clean with pleasant lighting and a good buzz .

Despite a nice friendly service we found the "Small" Steak to be lukewarm and the amount of food on the plate although tasty (apart from the watery peppered sauce)was terrible for the price of £19.95 per head. We needed to visit McDonalds an Hr later

We were a party of 11 booked in on a Saturday night for our Christmas work do. Having paid £30pp for a three course meal, we were really expecting something decent. The soup we had for starters was cold. The main courses were like rubber and luke warm. Clearly the potatos and chips had been cooked earlier and just a re dip in the fryer. Deserts were inedible. Rock hard brownies and stale runny creme brulee. We were shoved in a corner where half the table were unable to stand from or move their chairs because we were so squashed in the corner. The food was so vile we will never return. If we could give 0 stars we would.

Oh dear! This was truly abysmal, food ranged from mediocre to really bad - 18 hour slow cooked beef was vile, all sent back. The atmosphere was morgue like despite the great location , no table cloths , no heating no cheer! And an £84 service charge for our trouble. Three nice young waiters who tried their best but ..alas, the mountain was just too steep . There is a reason why this prime location venue is empty in the mouth of Christmas - see above.

Was at 21 Social today for a work's Christmas Lunch. I'd preordered the prawn and crab cocktail. It came in a water type drinking glass. It consisted of lettuce and a table spoon of prawns and crab that was already in the sauce. No garnish at all, not even a bit of lemon, nor a sprinkle of paprika. Had something advertised as prime rib of beef, slow cooked for 12 hours. To be fair there were others at the table that had ordered this same dish and they appeared to have twice the meet on the rib that I had. In fact the meat was hard to find on mine, it was 75% fat. After one forkful and an examination, I settled for the mash with the lentil and onion sauce, which was ok.No one came near us to check to see if the meal was up to standard or I would have made them aware of my displeasure. When they came to take my plate away, fat still attached to the bone, I did tell them and was subsequently offered a free drink.I had a chocolate brownie and ice cream for dessert. It was good but after being given another one by a girl that couldn't eat any more, I realised that I was lucky with the first brownie as the second one was as hard as the rib in my main course.To be fair, the ones that had the turkey and ham, were 'happy enough for it being a Christmas do'. The vast majority on the rib of beef weren't close to being that happy.

We arrived for our staff lunch just after 2pm 15 mins late i must say i hv never been so disappointed with the served to us. Some of it was cold, dull looking, horrible. Or deserts were so bad i wld even go to say the ice cream was off!. We hadnt finished eating and they were removing our desert plates. For what we got it was overely priced very disappointed ! Wldnt be back at Christmas@

Just had an extremely unpleasant experience trying to enter here when one of the bouncers tried to start an argument with my friend for no apparent reason. He said "i asked a question and i expect an answer" making us feel like children. The bouncer presented us with a disgusting attitude straight away with no motive or reason. Think he is in some desperate need of some customer service training or a new job. We decided not to come in due to the way he treated us. No need for his horrible attitude or the argumentative way he started on us. Not sure of his name but this would definitely put us off coming back and it's a shame as it's usually a good night out. I'm sure we are not the first customers to be put off or annoyed by this bouncer...and it would certainly not gain any new customers either!!

Despite being in the cathedral quarter on a pre-christmas saturday afternoon, the upstairs bar at 21 Social was remarkably quiet. We could get away from the crowds and have a nice pint in a couple of big armchairs. As those who had already had enough to drink entered the premises, we made our exit.

I was there today with a large party for lunch, the food was very good, and the service was excellent. the staff were so friendly, checking if you needed anything else, drinks etc, but not in an annoying way. The staff have to be commended for their efficiency, and friendly manner on a busy day with lots of large parties for xmas lunch.

Visited 21 social on Saturday night past, extremely rude door staff / bouncers - wouldn't return or recommend to friends

Ate here last night. We were greeted quickly and seated in a nice spot. Our waiter was excellent and we enjoyed a very tasty cocktail before dinner. Lovely menu, my friend ate a turkey dinner & I ate the rump steak. Delicious. I had creme brûlée for dessert, fab! Our only problem with 21 Social was that it was very cold!!! We had to actually keep on our coats, (saw others doing the same) and the ladies toilets were freezing!! Apart from that it was fab, well priced and great staff! Would thoroughly recommend.

This was our first visit and had high expectations that were fully met. The atmosphere is friendly and lively and on our visit it was full of parties as well as more intimate diners. It is very advisable to book as a casual diner is likely to be turned away. We had the selection of breads to start and the fish stew for our mains. Both were delicious and filling. The staff were superb also. Will be back.

Can't believe I've never been before now. Popped in on a wet dismal dreary Friday lunchtime Which probably explains why it wasn't too busy. the lovely waitress explained the menu had changed that morning, but her knowledge was second to none. I opted for the blt sandwich in a beautiful crusty 4 cheese bread and although I'm not a fries fan, these were home made crispy and delicious. the meal was served on a chopping board, food was hot, fresh and service was excellent and very quick. My companion had the plaice and chunky chips which was delicious. The portions were very satisfying. We were advised to book asap for December if wanting to go. Will definitely go back soon.

Tried the solero, twister and raspberry one, all lovely! the twister one was strongest rum taste and nicest.

Out with a crowd of people for a retirement party. Food was lovely but portions a bit small!! Went to disco upstairs free of charge cause we had a meal. Brilliant music but like a sweat box, no open windows & overcrowded, very little seating & toilets only accessible on lower & upper floors which was a bit of a hike!!

Fantastic locale made us choose this restaurant with the help of a friends recommendation also.The atmosphere was superb with the live acoustic band playing. Not too loud that we couldn't hold a conversation over dinner and drinks.Food, spectacular.

we were able to get a table straightaway in the gap between others' bookings. We were served by friendly and approachable staff. The food arrived quickly and was lovely. Not too much as in some other restaurants. The surroundings are very nice too. We were seated in a quieter area which was good too.

We visited here in August, as a treat/meal out before our holiday. The service could not be bettered. My partner went in the day before to book and was made so welcome, which is always a good start. We arrived quite a bit early due to escaping work sooner than expected, and this caused no issues- the restaurant was still quiet, ahead of the dinner time rush, and we were seated right away. The same manager from the day before was on, with one other staff member. I tried to see their name badges but they were flying around so quickly I couldn't get a glimpse- the two of them worked tirelessly to look after the tables that were in, sorting everything from seating, drinks, menus, order taking, food delivery and clearing up between just the two of them. They were like a well oiled machine! Both fellas, the server was a bit smaller and wore glasses. Fantastic treatment from both of them. We had been gifted a voucher for the steak and cocktail offering. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the cocktails were so lovely! Had a cheeky dessert too- the sticky toffee bread and butter pudding. Interesting twist on something a lot of restaurants offer, and this was a delightful deviation from the norm. Highly recommend. Do go! If you're able, try and go early for the extra special service when there aren't as many diners. I imagine they get busy later on but we ate around 6.30pm and felt like VIPs! :)

Called in here today as I did not fancy cooking and thought I'd try their Sunday Brunch menu.To start I had the Salt Cod Fish Cakes which you can see from the picture is a large ball of cod cake with a light coating of breadcrumbs.All very well presented and arrived promptly.Upon cutting right through this massive ball I thought I'd try the centre to make sure it was cooked right through, alas it was stone cold!I called over the waitresses and explained my concern, which she apologised for and took the offending cake away.. About 10-15min later a new one arrived and trying the centre again this was perfectly cooked and the added roast pepper and ketchup went down a treat.Have to say this on its own is quite substantial and had to leave some of the main course which I went for the Sunday Roast (Beef).This was delicious and the added homemade stuffing on top of the homemade Yorkshire pudding was fantastic, under that was two large slices of beef with cream potatoes, veg, roast potatoes and gravy.They offer two courses on a Sunday for £15 but since I had the misfortune with the stater that was removed.This is my 2nd meal here and it won't put me off coming back for more as staff where more that apologetic.Quite a decent menu for a Sunday and does not overcharge like some in the area. Will be back soon :-)

Didn't book but received a really warm welcome. The place was very busy but service was excellent. I had pea n ham soup and fish pie. My husband had salt n chilli squid and lamb rump. All dishes were delightful and filling. Highly recommended.

First time patron ,a night out on a great value Groupon voucher . We booked a table for 6pm on Friday night ,arrived ,greeted and shown to our table immediately. The waiter was very courteous ,accepted our voucher and menus presented.We both had the steak ,shared onion rings & garlic potatoes rather than chips. From the wine menu we had a bottle of Pinot Noir.excellent choice. Everything was served in a timely manner while we listened to two guys playing guitar and singing,very good.The downside was that the steaks were a bit tough ,thin and fatty,a poor quality piece of sirloin.I suggest a smaller piece but fatter that will cook better. Looking around most tables also had the same issue with there steaks as plates being collected had large pieces of meat on them. Why did the chef or restaurant manager not pick this up ?Anyway we then had cocktails chosen from the menu,excellent and great flavour.Overall our experience was a good one ,good music,ambience and excellent service. We will go back but skip the steaks.Ruairi our waiter was excellent and deserves a mention ,a credit to the business.

We went because of a groupon deal 29 quid for two steak dinners and two cocktails. We arrived in and the place was empty, had a few drinks then ordered. The waiters were lovely, very friendly and had a laugh with us. It started to fill up with people after 5pm. The two sirloins that arrived were a good size and cooked exactly how we asked, cajun fries were flavoursome and pepper sauce was tasty. The dinner was fantastic. The cocktails were also very nice. Overall very good food and service and i would go back and pay full price without the voucher

I have been eating a lot recently as you do in any new relationship. We both love a nice meal and wine/pint. 21 Social did not disappoint. It was by chance we were just passing and looked at the menu and thought let's try in here. A fella and girl were singing, there was a lovely atmosphere.... We got a cool table and after ordering a bottle of wine the waitress recommended the house bottle which was on offer at a really reasonable price. My boyfriend had a burger and I had lamb which came with a little miniature Shephards pie. It was truly delicious!!!! Every bite... Defo worth a visit. The steaks looked amazing too, will be back soon to try a steak as they looked soooooo good :)

My wife and I had a drink here before our dinner. I had a coke she had a wine. Quick service and reasonable price. Pretty empty at this time of day (early evening) and I know it gets busy later. Great menu here as well.

Ate here on Saturday, early evening pre drinks meal. Hadn't booked, but got table around 6.30pm. We both ordered the burger, very tasty and chips were very good. Presentation good. Service ok, meal didn't come out too quick which was OK as enjoyed a drink. Would return.

I have been several times to 21 Social as a club venue for after dinner parties and it is a nice place to go dancing.I was there once for a corporate event and the food was all right but nothing special: we had to select between 3 options (2 with meat and 1 vegetarian) and the vegetarian one was definitely too spicy.We had good cocktails and dessert though, even if we seem not to get enough food for all the guest as we had to order more sides.This will remain a good venue for after dinner drinks and dance, but I would not recommend it as a restaurant.

Have started to come to 21 Social now mainly because of the brilliant air-con, on the few hot days we've had in Belfast this is THE Bar to goto if you want to cool down and get out of the sun.On top that, the Bar prices are VERY reasonable for the area and the chilled Heineken they have on tap goes down a treat! and does not break the bank at £4 per pint!So on this day 19th July 2016 i decided to try out the food as i've seen many customers in the restaurant area and very glad i did.I choose from the Pre-Theatre Menu (Tue-Wed 1700-2100hrs) (Thur-Fri 1700-1830hrs)Skipped the starter and went straight for the main of Oven Roast Chicken Spinach Gratin, Curry Parsnip Chips and Roasting juices.This went down a treat, but my only complaint was there was TWO small Curry Parsnip Chips! hidden under the chicken, yes i know a small gripe! just was expecting more than two, but in all everything was cooked to perfection, and the gratin really filled you up.For Dessert i tried the Chefs Ice-cream Selection, Homemade Honeycomb, Orange Tuile & Toffee Popcorn.As you can see from the pictures attached all looked very good and tasted very well.All this for £15, well worth the money and i'll certainly be back choosing this menu again.Just a note to other bars in the area, come here and see what REAL air-con is!!!Staff where very helpful & attentive, credit to the establishment.Will be back again soon! :-)

I went with a crowd of friends, most of whom hadn't eaten here before, and I sang its praises to them as I've never had a bad meal at 21 Social. Now it's been a while since I've eaten here and in fairness it wasn't a "bad" meal, it was average. I had the pan roasted halibut, which while flavoursome, firm and correctly cooked had a soggy skin. The fondant potatoes were not fondant potatoes, rather baby potatoes cut in cylinders and rather than soft and rich with stock were downright hard. The porcini infused jus was neither infused or a jus, rather a mushroom paste that was claggy and unrefined. Most of the others had steak which most stated was decent...but then it's steak. I don't want to be down on this place as previously I've enjoyed it, but putting out mediocre meals like mine runs the risk of it being eclipsed by the many other better restaurants within a stones throw.Staff were friendly and patient, atmosphere good....just don't take your eye off the ball kitchen?

I had dinner which consisted of a bread plate and the "roast" of the day which was silver side of beef (a couple of thick slices of roast beef). The bread plate was a mix of hummus, olive oil and tomato chutney which were all very tasty. The roast came with veg and a couple types of potato plus stuffing. All were nicely presented and quality was very good. Only issue was the roast was well done, they didn't ask how you like it prepared. Since I prefer med rare this was a little disappointing, but everything else was good. 4 starches on the plate were a bit much, but no other complaints.

Called in for a sirloin and cocktails with my wife on a Friday night and had a fantastic meal. Customer service was faultless. Will be back very soon.

My boyfriend and I decided to dine in this restaurant after wondering the city in a struggle to find anywhere open, due to the orangefest celebrations. The restaurant decor was very trendy and it also had a nice atmosphere. My boyfriend had the roast chicken which he absolutely demolished... and described as delicious, whilst i had the burger with blue cheese. I ate most of this tasty burger but did have to leave some as it was so big. We also had a side of onion rings which were okay but did taste a bit vinegary due to we think pickled onions. Service was excellent, very attentive and the waitress was helpful in pointing out things in the area. My only negative would be the lack of live music on even though it was advertised to have it on, the waitress explained this is due to the public holiday but obviously that is a bit dissapointing for tourists.

We came here for a spot of lunch for the two of us. It was very quiet just us in there but the girl was attentive and helpful.I had the steak sandwich and it was just amazing!!!!My boyfriend had the fish and chips and it was massive! Wasn't exspensive or high dining but it was worth the money and would come back again for another sandwich!!

This is a casual restaurant for a good hearty meal. The service was very good & so was the food. It's a busy lively restaurant which is popular with the locals. It's also part of the bar scene with a TV playing big sporting events. This isn't a place for a romantic meal for two, but perfect for a meal with friends in a no fuss environment. It's directly opposite The Merchant hotel, so is really handy if you are staying there.

We had a family celebration for our daughters graduation added to by our son arriving home from China and we have to say from arriving until we left the restaurant the staff were excellent. Our waitress was very aware of nut allergy food which was a must for us, our waiter Ruari was wonderful, even turning his hand to being a photographer . Our food was excellent from our starters to the end finishing with Irish coffees. From we arrived until we departed we were made to feel comfortable, only topped by fabulous food and our waiter Ruari, who is an excellent ambassador for your restaurant we will definitely return

We recently had a colleague's retirement lunch in 21 Social and I have to say that from my very first email, the staff they were extremely helpful and accommodating. We were a group of 20 and every person thoroughly enjoyed the lunch - the food was good and the staff were lovely. We were there on a Tuesday lunch time which was a little quiet but this suited our occasion. I also had a very nice Christmas dinner here a few years ago and again, the food, atmosphere and entertainment were spot on. I would definitely recommend it and I'm sure I'll be back.

Tonight my boyfriend and I visited here as I had recently purchased the groupon voucher for a steak and dessert cocktail for two... You had to pay extra if you wanted starters which wasn't a problem at all. We had the spiced crab and salt&chilli squid which were unbelievably good. Our steaks were cooked to perfection (we both like it rare) and the garlic butter was to die for. Huge compliments to the chefs. We'll definitely be back to try more from the main menu.

I came here with my 2 friends on Friday 3rd June. We came for some pre drinks then sadly decided to go to Ollies across the road. That didn't last long though as we returned to 21 Social - I'm so glad we returned. What an amazing night, except a George Michael look a like trying to touch us up, the bouncers were quick enough to sort him out though.Laurence/Lawrence who worked on the bar downstairs, what a lad! Drinks could have been a little cheaper but still had a good night!

Visited here with my mum (27/5/16) using Groupon steak dinner offer.Steak was cooked well and was tender but I felt it needed the pepper sauce for taste.Mum didn't think it needed the sauce.The cocktails (Mangoberry Cooler, Dark & Stormy and Singapore Sling) were great. We both had dessert and they were delicious! Highly recommend the chocolate & hazelnut torte and toffee bread & butter pudding. We had the salted caramel ice cream with both.Our server Maeve was really attentive and friendly. Both me and mum had a really enjoyable dinner and will definitely visit here again to try some other dishes.

My daughter arrived home from uni and we took her and her boyfriend out for a lovely lunch. After having to wait 45-60 mins at other busy restaurants we happened upon this restaurant. They managed to find us a table and we ordered several of the sharing board meals they were delicious especially the scotch egg! Would definitely recommend, lovely atmosphere for a light lunch and a few drinks. After we had ordered we came upon a bar snack, the ploughmans board and meat board sounds fabulous can't wait to come back and try it!Many thanks to all the staff, front of house server was fabulous, knowledgeable, she is a credit to the restaurant.

I should give it a two star but I really did have a good time, the decor and atmosphere was really nice, definitely a place to go with friends:)Just the food was a let down, it looked well and everything but it just unfortunately was tasteless :( got the Thai curry and at first I was confused wondering where to sauce it and I had to look it was all the the bottom of the bowl was under the rice because it was that watery, I could have sworn it was just water mixed with less than a spoonful of curry powder it was that unflavoured, I don't even know if curry powder was even used because I couldn't really taste much, I tried to make it better but putting loads of salt on it but it didn't do too much sadly, I really wanted to like it though and the other ones at our table who got it as well said the same, the rest got burgers and stuff not sure how they were but you can really go wrong with burgers so I'd probably recommend that more for anyone who's looking to go. However weirdly enough to I actually probably would go and again, I just really liked it and wanna give it one more chance to sort of prove itself .. Never know they could just have been having a bad day or something
