The Kitchen Bar in Belfast

Had lovely chicken fillet burger with chorizo n chips, all washed down with good pints of Heverlee, class. Service was great and the GAA/Soccer were both on the big screens/tvs. Great spot 👌 👏

Just in for a couple of Guinness, nice wee pub with a reasonable selection of beers, perfect when the other half is in the shopping centre next door

An excellent restaurant with delicious food (especially chicken stack and NY steak sandwich). Welcoming atmosphere, the place seems to be mostly frequented by locals. Felt welcome.

We were in here the other evening for a quick meal with our 10 month old after a busy day visiting Belfast. The food was beautiful and offering something a little different to your average pub grub. However, the selling point was the angel in disguise who helped us with our son - you know who you are! He was tired and a little grumpy so the lady who worked there chatted to him and pushed him around in his pram till he settled so we could eat. Totally above and beyond her day job, but wow were we grateful! Best service ever - amazing!!

The pan fried hake plate was a mess, the mashed potato was not fresh. The atmosphere was OK and the service was acceptable.

Came here on Wednesday afternoon with a friend and child(with the pram) with no reservations in search for some pub food. We have received a warm welcome from All the staff, once we got seated, we got offered drinks straight away and we have been explained the menu. My friend went for wings and parmesan chips, wee baby went for sausages, mash & chips and I was like a greedy one... I went for larger wings, also some Sirloin( rare) which was served with chips, mushrooms, tomato and peppercorn sauce. Steak was lovely, chips were tasty too. Our whole bill came to £65 for all of us, which I think was fair enough . Definitely will be back again! Thank you!!!

We went there in the valentine’s day for a lunch - the food was delicious but the service wasn’t. Too long to get the order taken, then too long to the drinks been served etc .

Called in for lunch and had a tasty Irish stew. Lovely service from friendly staff. Would recommend.

Visited at the weekend with my parents and daughter. Portions extremely small and over priced. Kids meal was served with about 10 chips and 2 tiny pieces of chicken. Chicken stack came with 3 tiny pieces of chicken exactly the same a kids meal chicken and was brought with chips instead of mash. Peppered sauce was like water. Sides served in tiny bowls only half full. Still waiting on the vinegar to be brought to the table. Not worth the £70.

Nice pub. But the toilets weren't good.

Guiness is nice and food ok, but whatever you do dont make any noise. You will upset the bar staff! Two years running we have been asked to be quiet while cheering on a rugby game. Absolute nonsence! Will not be back.

The is bar and kitchen was first class. The service and friendliness of the staff and the manager made the food and drink even more enjoyable. We ate and drank here a couple of times and enjoyed a nice whiskey from the manager’s recommendation. I’d say it was well worth a visit as the hospitality was brilliant. Also a big shout out to the barman who served us yesterday as he was a star. A very nice man. We loved Belfast and the people and the bar made it all the more special. We can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic food and atmosphere, best Guinness I've tried in Ireland, very good value for money, and the burger was delicious. Staff were excellent.

Nice spot to drop into while shopping in Victorian Square. Lovely old Victorian decor with theatrical highlights. Very friendly staff.

6 of us had two meals here over two days, all of us agreed both visits and meals were very nice. The staff were very nice and friendly. We will visit again.

Been in here a few times and food is always decent but find it so weird that you can’t take any of it home, they tell you you’re not allowed to take food off the premises. Baffling given you’ve paid for it. I was out with my elderly relative that can’t eat a lot and wanted the rest for her dinner later.

We walked in hoping for a dinner one evening and thankfully were taken. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic but when I paid the bill I found out why the service was so good. There was a service charge already added to the bill which the server then proceeded to say could be taken off! I mean who is gonna say yea take it away and remove it 🤷 I would prefer to decide myself if and how much to leave.

Great Pub we stopped in for a few beers and the staff were very welcoming.

Arrived in and was shown to our table and given a menu straight away,only to to left sitting there for 20 minutes while others couples came in after and were served straight away Waitress kept walking past avoiding eye contact.

Crowded and uncomfortable, tables too small, people bumping into tables as they pass..

Very nice place, cozy place in the city center, nice music with perfect music that allows you to have a nice conversation. Staff are very nice and makes you feel special.

Great spot, they were very busy. However was very dissappointed I got 3 of the smallest mini fillets going in Belfast with my chicken strips meal. Hungry as I was I survived, it was delicious. Just missing half my chicken portion when paying 15 quid a basic main.

Fabulous food, left stuffed great atmosphere and really friendly staff, I would defo recommend this place, I will come back on my return to Belfast.

Phoned ahead and confirmed that their kitchen was open till 5 on NYE…only to find it closed at half four when we arrived and no one could really tell us why. We got a few mumbles about ‘the boss’ . The bar staff were great however.

Très bon lieu pour goûter les bons plats de Belfast ! Ça peut certes paraître un peu cher mais les quantités sont généreuses et les serveurs sont très sympathiques

Had a wonderful Christmas dinner for our works do compliments to the kitchen and waiters and waitresses.

Very busy spot on a Monday at lunchtime, Had to wait for a free table, no problem as we could sit in the bar with a drink and we were called once a table was free. Staff were excellent, chatty and friendly. The food was lovely and we had a couple of excellent glasses of mulled wine, which hit the spot on a cold day, Will call again next time I visit the wonderful city of Belfast

Called in for some food and got seated immediately bar was busy as was the food side . Food was excellent and portions were large . Would definitely return again .

Recently went here with a group of colleagues for dinner after work and really enjoyed it. The food was really tasty, service was speedy and the staff were really friendly and had a laugh with us. We had colleagues over from London and it was great to show them a good dining experience in Belfast.

Irish stew was meh. Lamb was very fatty. They don't sever wheaten bread with there vegetable soup. They definitely downgraded their menu. Service was a bit slow too. Took a while to get our order in.

Looked after so well by bar staff on arrival, I decided to stay for food as the place was buzzing. Food was selected from the extensive menu and another drink was ordered

Amazing and extraordinary food at excellent price, visited Belfast for weekend this was certainly a highlight.

Been on several occasions and never really had a cause to complain. However to charge us £6 for a mint hot chocolate that was bearly warm was a bit of a shock. It's only £2.40 in Greggs and it's hot. Feel a bit conned tbh.

What a fantastic bar, staff were really friendly and just a general chilled and enjoyable atmosphere - bonus for a cracking pint of guiness

Food was delicious, unfortunately it wouldn't make me return if there's a discretionary service charge is added on for TWO people, there was hardly any service.

Came here with my sister and daughter and food is amazing ! Service beyond words!!! Could not fault this place one bit and the person who is on charge of the restaurant runs an efficient and tight ship with respect for her staff and customers !!! A huge thank you for a lovely evening !!!

We were a party of 8. Great food great service and great atmosphere. The addition of live music was also appreciated. Couldn't fault it and can warmly recommend it.

Called for lunch menu selection was quite limited. I had Ham Cabbage and mash. Very little cabbage. Ham was nice and thick. My daughter had classic beef burger and chips. Chips tasted frozen and burger just about average. For the price not be returning. Staff were lovely and accommodating.

Great bar by Victoria Place in Belfast .We went last time on a Saturday afternoon , great craic , live music , good Guinness , friendly staff.

My wife and I had a great meal here this afternoon. The staff lead by Clare were fantastic. Well worth a visit. The ham and cabbage with mash and cider gravy, with a great glass of red wine, hard to beat.

A cozy pub with good and tasty food. Staff is very friendly and forthcoming. Prices are quite high though, especially for the desserts considering the size.

Great location and very attentive staff however the food was slightly disappointing ordered the stew to have it arrive and be all potatoes with one or two small bits of lamb inside it left still feeling hungry would of been better with something else off the menu my partner had the burger and no complaints about still been hungry and then when the bill was given the "optional service charge" was clearly brought to our attention which there was no indication of anywhere until which time we were paying for the food for location just to walk in was great and the servers were very attentive we seen 4 different ones within 5 minutes of sitting down which we realised after why not having any notice anywhere about a service charge though left us both very uncomfortable and even while paying one of us was looking for the bathroom and was told 3 times it's just round the coner off the bar which seems to get more snappy everytime we were told even though we were waiting for each other

Hello friends 😃 today I tested “kitchen bar” The place is charming, warm and comfortable. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I ordered an 'Irish stew'. The service was quick, around 5 minutes 🏃‍♀️ The plate is well stocked 😃! From the first bite I am won over, the taste is divine 🤪😋(If you like stews like me, in Belfast, this is my favorite) There's a lot of love on this plate. The ingredients are of the highest freshness, and the whole dish is very well balanced. The cooking is perfect! Potatoes, carrots, leeks, nothing to complain about, that Top... the meat is tender and melts in the mouth. It's perfectly seasoned with rosemary and chives and it's neither too salty nor too peppery👍 All that’s missing is the rain and a good fireplace and the dish will be even more pleasant 😁 Congratulations to the cook 👨‍🍳 you are a Chef 👌🎩

The food was fine, but apparently they don’t have to-go containers so if you can’t absolutely gorge yourself in one sitting you’re throwing away a whole other meal and half your money! Be warned! Bring your own Tupperware, binge till you hurt, or go somewhere else.

The food was amazing full of flavour and plenty of it... the staff were very polite and accommodating definitely recommend this pub/restaurant 10/10

Very disappointed Sunday Lunch. 18 pounds for Roast Beef dinner. A slice of brisket, cheapest cut of meat, and a very small spoonful of hard veg with nice portion of creamed spuds for 18 pounds. The photos advertised looked lovely. There was no chicken option as advertised. Not worth the money. Very disappointed. I know bards have to make profits, but brisket, half cooked veg.

Myself and my partner called in for a bite to eat on Saturday, 2nd August. I ordered cabbage and ham, and my partner got the steak sandwich. I think they got the steak to look at the sandwich! 4 tiny bits of steak and as tuff as boots. With mine, I'm still waiting for the cabbage! 2 slithers of ham on top of mashed potatoes. So, to that end, I'll be taking my custom else where. I was very disappointed compared to previous visits.

Staff were very disinterested and paid lip service and dashed off when asking if all was ok. This was such a disappointing meal . It was such poor quality id never return or ever recommend anyone visit here

This is an outstanding Belfast pub with original architectural features and really great food. Try the Irish stew and the beef and Guiness pie - exceptional. All served with a smile by lovely helpful staff.

When meeting up with friends before going for something to eat the Kitchen bar is ideal. Great atmosphere. We would also call back in after eating out for a nightcap.

Our favorite place in Belfast. We went twice! Great food and super staff. Lamb stew was fab!

This cafe is actually inside the Belfast City Hall which is an experience on its own as you pass corridors of interesting information about Northern Ireland's history.

Maybe I misunderstood the barwoman that I could just have any seat. However, the rudeness with which the waitress then sent me back to the "wait here to be seated" sign when I asked her for a table was unwarranted. If it was peak lunch time, I would have understood, but it wasn't.

I have a severe nut allergy and sesame seed allergy and they where very unhelpful and couldn’t guarantee that I would be safe as there are nuts in the kitchen and they use the same fryer for everything. So if you have a nut allergy...

Avoid if you have food allergies. Disappointing that food allergies can't be accommodated for. Cross contamination in fryers and open bag of nuts in kitchen. Humiliating and embarrassing for person with allergy as out with group of friends.

Live music is very good, clean as very fastidious about cleaning tables. Good atmosphere is usually full, but it's Sunday at 19.43, so quiet. Nice understated decor and comfortable seating.

A bit too pricey for pub food. We were taken by surprise that we had to pay a service charge of nearly £8. We were told it was optional, but as we had intended on leaving a tip we accepted it. A bit of a cheek as we felt hijacked. We would have given a tenner but this left a bad taste in our mouths.

My sister and I called in here for a bite to eat after a long day of shopping. The service from the staff was something else, shout-out to the lady who served us (Jinny), couldn’t have made us feel more welcome… food was great and reasonably priced - and cocktails for a fiver on a Friday! Nice food and good atmosphere. What spoiled it for us was the ‘discretionary’ service charge added. We were told we didn’t have to pay it if we thought the service wasn’t good. We were going to tip the waitress but as we felt obligated to pay the service charge we didn’t. Afraid we won’t be back as didn’t like how it was done & puts people on the spot. Charge people for what they ordered & let people tip the waitresses if they want too.
