Jungle Jive Cafe - Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea

We went there with our son, and we had a brilliant time. We loved the fireworks at 8pm. Such a fantastic day.

Great place. Have yearly passes, kids absolutely love going there.

Had a great time in the park, then a free fireworks display afterwards (September time up until bonfire night)

One of the best theme park we have been to. Very kid family friendly The price is super bargain They have both indoor and outdoor area. Our son enjoy this so much The toilets are spotless clean and this is the 1st time I saw baby mat in the changing area. I would rate this 100 stars if there is the option

The very quick of fixing problems I had a issue with Annual Pass as could get back down they're to add the 12 onto the card but customer service work it out toke a few weeks to fix but it all down ready for 2025 when they're reopen and looking forward to the new a couple of rides are newly on Completion

Played mini golf and walked through. Would recommend mini golf, reasonably priced. The actual place was busy but still enough space to move around and it was clean

Service is only available during weekends in autumn and winter. Will be open all days in summer. Buy tickets prior for better price

Great place to vissit with kids. All you could & would want to spend the whole day here. A lot of amusements , food and drinks.

A brilliant day out with my daughter and her friend, found prices to be reasonable for food & drink, park is always clean and plenty of rides for all ages, was lucky enough to have parking outside, stayed for dinner in the diner, food is good quality within the park and reasonably price, and the diner itself although a basic menu, is very well cooked. not a fan of the wooden cutlery but from an environment perspective can see why it is done. we also got a great view of the fireworks currently being shown on Saturday's. if you are local a year pass is worth it with additional discount on food and drink

Been here loads of times. Absolutely love it and all of the staff are the best. Friendly, helpful, everything. I have a season pass and it's the best purchase I've ever made.

We really loved it, specially my 5 years old son. I have purchased 8 rides for £28. Anyway, that took us 2 hours to use up all the tickets, it was busy and there were long lines of waiting. If your child is under 120 cm you can go free with them on the ride. I think it was a great price £3.50 a ride, once he us taller than £7 (2 tickets). I can say that this is a bargain.

It's a fun time as always, a great day out with the family. The only worry was the incident at the end of the evening after the fireworks, a bit more training with first aid would help in those situations.

Adventure Island in Southend could have been a great day out, but unfortunately, it falls short in several key areas. While it has the potential to be a fun amusement park, my experience left me feeling underwhelmed and frustrated. First off, the rides are pretty limited. While there are a few decent attractions, many of them feel outdated or poorly maintained. The thrill rides, in particular, just don’t live up to the excitement you’d expect from a theme park. I found myself waiting in long lines for rides that were just average, which is a big letdown when you’re looking for some adrenaline. The staff were hit or miss. Some were friendly and helpful, but others seemed disinterested and not very engaged. It’s frustrating when you’re trying to get assistance or ask a question, and the staff doesn’t seem to care. A little more enthusiasm and customer service training would go a long way in improving the overall experience. The food options are also lacking. The prices are steep for what you get, and the quality isn’t great. Fast food staples like burgers and fries can be found, but they’re often lukewarm and lack flavor. I was hoping for at least a few decent eateries, but everything felt very basic and unappetizing. The park itself can feel quite cramped and overcrowded, especially on weekends. It was challenging to find a quiet spot to relax or even a place to sit down for a meal. The layout doesn’t help either; navigating through the park can be a hassle with all the people around. On the bright side, there are a few attractions that kids seem to enjoy, and the atmosphere can be fun, especially if you’re with a group. However, for the price of admission, I expected a lot more in terms of variety and quality. Overall, Adventure Island has potential, but it needs some serious improvements to compete with other theme parks. If you’re looking for a thrilling day out, you might be better off elsewhere. It gets two stars from me for the few fun moments, but the overall experience was disappointing.

Just as fun and thrilling as it was when I used to visit as a teenager 10-15 years ago. Great value for money, and just an all-round amazing day out for all ages.

It’s a great place but it’s better to buy your ticket online it’s only £20 if buying in person it’s £30. A great day out. A big park with 2 arcades

As a family we have passes and love a trip over the river to adventure island, my kids love it, loads to do, excellent and engaging staff, delicious doughnuts, fantastic security team and lots more on offer in Southend, great day & evening out.

We went close to closing time. Didn't get our full moneys worth but the option to upgrade to an annual pass is tempting even if we only visit one other time this year.

Great place to visit just after it opens during the school term, on the weekend. You can easy spend 4 hours there and still not visit all of the rides. Minimum height and age for the Axis is 1.30m; 10 years old. I definitely recommend to buy tickets online.

Loved this place, great find. The food was amazing & the staff were really friendly and wow, what a setting looking over the beach at sunset, a must try.

We had a great day here with my kids, enough rides to keep you busy for a few hours and it's definitely cheaper than a theme park.

Adventure island is a very fun place to go to when your bored, it has many rides you can choose from and at 5PM you can get day bands for half price! (£15) !!

Group outing for Scouts, Cubs & Beavers from 2nd SLH Troop! Everyone had a brilliant day. The staff on the rides were so happy & interactive with the children!

Lovely place to visit with your family and kids. Lots of rides for different ages. Nice restaurants and there is a huge soft play area indoor area too. Hala food found in Sand By The Sea restaurant. Annual membership is very convenient so please check it out.

Best place for kids' entertainment.

Nice sized soft play although pretty messy inside and a little pricey for a under 2 yr old. Arcade was stupid having to use a top up card so never used it and went elsewhere.

Visited a few weeks ago on a Friday evening and saw they had half price tickets/armbands after 5pm which was a bonus. My wife and I took our toddler, there was a good selection of rides for her, also we only needed to buy a ticket for her and one of us was able to accompany her on the rides which is fantastic. We had some donuts, chips and drinks which were reasonably priced considering it's a 'theme park'. The only issue was an individual older teenager going around with a balaclava on acting a fool but security dealt with efficiently.

So many fun rides to go on.. my favourite was the rage such an amazing ride and the tickets are cheap for what you can do here! So many options and different types of rides for everyone.. they also have loads of food huts and arcades inside too! I will definitely be coming back again soon🥰

Lovely park but unfortunately couldn’t bring our dog in the park so our family day out wasn’t spent together someone had to be outside the park to look after the dog. If all dogs are kept on short leads I can’t see why it would be a problem. My mum had her elderly dog in a pram and she still wasn’t allowed in

Clean, safe, helpful staff, good value

We went during the weekday in the first few days of the school term. so it made for a nice day out. The location by the beach and the relative ease to get on the rides compared to other places makes it that much more entertaining.

I enjoyed myself. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The games were fun. The main park wasn’t open but the arcade and food part was. I was there for around 2 hours playing games and had fun.

Very bad customer service, especially some muslim girls with hijab or head scarves working on the rides, are very rude. Service was like a third-world country. They need the UK standard customer service training.

Good day out and great rides however the food is expensive and no healthier options or much for vegans/vegetarians which isn’t surprising for a theme park. Rage was closed for most of the day for repairs and other rides closed for seemingly no reason. They opened in the late afternoon causing massive queues on these rides.

Suprb place to enjoy and spend time with family and friends

Absolutely wonderful theme park. All you could & would want to spend the whole day here. Close to all amenities, hotels, food, toilets, seafront & pier. All day ride wristbands available plus single ride tickets. Security available while park is open. Wheelchair accessibility via ramps in several entrances, plus lifts available over the road to get from high ground to lower for theme park.

Very entertaining, something for everyone. Particularly enjoyed driving/riding a d shoot-out games with my teenage grandson.

The kids love it here, lots of rides and queues are not bad, 5-10 minutes at the most.

Don't expect to park near by. It's wood, old and sea battered but you don't go there for the decor. Had fun then went to the train. It feels miles out. Interesting so can new say Bin there dun that.

Kids enjoyed it as usual. The Eatery was a disappointment though. I assumed that when a meal was upgraded to the big daddy, this would also mean large chips and drink but was told it only applies to the hotdog. Also, there were at least 6 staff members with only one poor lad serving. And despite not wanting the onions or sauce on the hotdogs, I was charged for cheese as a substitute. Food was overpriced for what it was, but unfortunately, that's pretty standard at these sorts of places. Moans over, will obviously be going back as it is a great place overall!

Adventure island is always a good place to go and have fun, mostly reasonable priced as well. The are some good rides to or even if you want a more chilled time plenty of benches to sit down on and rest. So it caters to all people it does and nice seaside theme park which probably would only take 2-3 hours to go around and do all rides in total. Also good thing is admission to park is completely free of charge which makes it totally worth a short visit and zero queuing.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day here. So many fun rides and a good selection of food outlets. Wrest bands were an absolute bargain. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Arrived just before opening at 11 am, spent 10 min waiting to get wristbands even though they were pre-ordered... it got busy quite quickly as kids were still on holiday, rides were good, especially Axis and the vertical drop roller coaster. As the day wore on ques for rides got longer Drinks and ice creams were pricey at £3.50 a pop

Went down with the family for an evening of rides, and we had a lovely time. The queues were quick, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely be returning soon

The perfect place to take the kids on a fun day out, we have been here many times in the past and I find it much better than the main stream theme parks that charge you £40/50 to just get in, only to be met with hours of queuing. With this place you only pay for what you want to do, there is no entrance fee. This suits me as I don't personally go on anything, so I don't want to pay £50 just to walk around. Also another good feature here is if your child is under a certain height then a person over the age of 14 (including a parent) gets to go on with the child for free!!. Most of the rides are suitable for small children, and they are quite short, so the queuing is equally short. You can get discounted prices by booking online, we paid £20 per child for a great days entertainment. Even if the weather isn't too good, then there is a very large indoor play area (soft play and rides) that's included with your wrist band.

Very good day out with my 3 year old. Lots of rides for her to enjoy and I was able to ride on with her for free. Really appreciate that I can ride on for free as at the end of the day, I am only going on it for her and her safety. The place is well staffed.

We bring our boys here every year, they love the rides and indoor soft play area! All staff on all the rides are superb and great with the kids, our 3 boys can't wait to give them a high 5 after every ride! Well done adventure island, keep up the good work! 👍

Great place to go fun day out with the kids

My brothers are visited the country and we pre booked the tickets as it is cheaper. When we bought it online it said opening from 11 am and 12 so we of course booked them. When we arrived next day the park is closed. We contacted costumer service they can’t refund just extend. My brothers won’t come back to the Uk just to use up their ticket again so that is not really helpful. As I checked website today they have had finally updated and the first thing you see that is closed today. My question is why no refund if it’s not our fault? Why do you think that anyone is gonna come back from a different country to use a ticket? I live here but certainly not coming back ever.

It was so good to visit there. I was just planning to go to the beach & I never thought that there would be a place like this adventure island. Me & my brother went there it was so much fun since we don't have a lot of money we just went to 2 rides but it was sooo freaking good. Each ride will cost you £3.75 but if you want to try all the rides then you should get a wrist band which will cost you only £30 for the whole day (you can go any ride for unlimited time) you can also get the yearly pass if you wish to. My brother & I enjoyed a lot, planning to come over again to try all the games😉❤️

Very nice place with plenty of rides for kids reasonable price

If you plan to visit Southend, make sure you visit this place. The rollercoasters are true to the name. The place is built in a way it engages all age groups. So make sure you select the one which suits your age. The spooky one was quite funny. There are game arenas which are quite good. The food is also not bad.
