JRC Global Buffet in Croydon

Well to be fair we can’t criticise the food just the inability to even get into the restaurant. This was our first visit and we booked for 6pm They give you a booked window of 1hr 45 minutes , this was fine and fitted in with our plans to finish by 8pm We were there just after 6, so at 605 we were faced with a stairwell with about 30 people queuing upstairs. We asked a couple in front and they said like us they had booked for 6pm and weren’t sure what was going on. It’s was now 615pm I went up and I could see a large queue and one person in charge at the top saying yes this is the queue for those who have booked. It was now 620pm the queue wasn’t really moving so we left . If this it’s what it’s like (?) not somewhere I would ever go back to. It’s a miserable experience queuing in a stairway in February with no idea what is going on.

Excellent restaurant, the food is very good quality and it's a nice family atmosphere, everyone is here to eat good food and have a good time. Staff are friendly and very helpful. And I'd like say special thank you to Chrisie at the reception till at the resturant who help me with my booking, she was very helpful and polite and greeted me and my family with a warm welcome. It was a lovely welcome e and overall experience

I received an email from JRC Croydon about child eat for free. I read it carefully and it says the offer is on Monday to Friday between 5pm-6pm. Just to make sure, I rang them up, they told me I can book a table during the offer time and show my email to the till to get the offer. I booked a table for 7 adults and just one child on Monday at 5:30. When we turned up and try to pay, we were told that the offer is only valid for the second time visit!!! That was such a joke! They lied to the customer and their cheating behavior is illegal. I even got my call record from my three account showed exactly the date and time and duration I called them and the email I received from them without a single word saying it is for the second time visit only! The woman on the till was rude and I asked for manager and she said I can find the contact on the website and sort it out myself. Don’t trust them and don’t go there! They are a group of scammers.

Nice selection of food, tables cleared of plates quickly. If you were a family who liked different foods it's the venue for you. Could do with being a bit hotter but our son who is autistic had a wonderful time eating the foods he loved. One downside were the toilet facilities. Locks not on stall doors, wallpaper ripped off of the walls. They definitely need a new revamp.

Firstly lift out so bit of a struggle getting upstairs ( not thier fault) once in found it very overwhelming the table was right at the back up few more steps ( I'm disabled) so loos are back near entrance On web site it claims to have like 9 different cuisine .very badly labeled Couldn't find any Mexican Brazilian French or anything other than English and Asia unlimited drinks in cheap plastic beakers . Apparently there was loads different soups I couldn't see them. This place need better signage of food tastes Deserts nothing spectacular very basic same as cosmo variety All in all very disappointed as to expect all the hype of the reviews a few years back Deff no lobster to be found Deff you know your in London kids running riot around toilets wich where very neglected Did like the wooden dome shape seats unfortunately didn't sit there. Would I come here again ?? No But will try Wembley or Watford to compare

EVRYTHING IS DRY AND BLAND Were we was sat it smelt like stale egg. The plates were not collected at any point. Definitely not worth the £28pp plus £4pp on top for drinks. I definitely would not be returning.

Over the years we've been here many times but this time was disappointing - the food was ok, not to usual standard. The additional £4 (increase from last visit) for pump drinks excessive. No one cleared plates at any stage. Guy on grill was off hand (that's me being polite). Not sure I'm keen to return. Enjoyed being with my family group.

Lovely time celebrating the birthday of a family member. A wide selection of foods to meet your taste buds and they cater for a variety of dietary requirements. Food was clearly labelled along with allergens information.

Food is bland and cheap. For £28 you are better off going to a proper restaurant. To top this experience off I got diarrhoea. Don’t waste your money.

Last went here 5 years ago and what a change. Yes I understand prices have gone up on everything but this place is really mugging off customers. Now it’s £28, no drinks included (also Beer used to be about half the average price-now it’s £7 a pint) The cooking station used to have lovely little bits of meat and seafood but I swear the ‘steak’ was like a piece of bacon, we just had to laugh. The curry you would get better in a supermarket, the Chinese similar to a rubbish takeaway and most of the dishes were cold/warm as they don’t want to top up. Overall for a similar price go to a proper Chinese, curry or steakhouse. Lastly the staff were a disgrace, rude and entitled (getting in was like a celebrity nightclub) and they told us to clear up after ourselves when we asked if they could take empty plates. Another example of sheer greed, I am astonished they are still in business and shocked who in their right mind would go back this soulless rip off. The old days this would be a £9.99 a head job and be reasonably priced as the foods rubbish but you can fill up. Last time for us.

Really bad self service restaurant desserts tasted expired and waiters took your plates without notice and cold food.

Went here with my friend and really enjoyed the visit. Choices of food were amazing and you could go back as you like. I would suggest taking really small portions and then if you can handle a second round to do that, otherwise the food will be wasted. Will definitely go back when in London.

Terrible experience, Cant even say ordinary food. Complete waste of money specially if you are a vegetarian . Not much choice 1 curry no daal, rice , no fresh naan , for 28 £ .Definitely not for Indian people, Cant tolerate this bad taste for veg or non veg . Large selection of different dishes from around the world, something for everybody, eat as much as you like, maximum use / duration of 1.5 hours for table. First visit, very impressed, constantly being cleaned, very satisfied

We went here this evening for a family birthday meal. I was put off by the negative reviews however, we were pleasantly surprised. The food is obviously buffet style, some of it was cold but there was plenty to enjoy and example. The deserts were amazing, lots of choice, fruit, and ice cream, marshmallows, and melted chocolate. Plenty that I enjoyed. We all drank tap water no problem. It was absolutely packed at 5 pm and when we left there were people queueing to get in so we highly recommend booking. We would return.

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you respect food and consuming the same in needy quantities. Firstly, the place is huge with and they serve a lot of dishes mainly pan-asian including cooking stations. The quality of the food was just OK, not anywhere near sit-down dining. I asked for fresh nan-bread and was pointed to a plate that had few pieces cooked heaven knows when. What I was really shocked and sad was people wasting heaps and heaps of food on 50% of tables yesterday(Sat 09 Mar) at around 9:30pm. I may be am cynical in saying this, but I think majority of diners who dine here need to be trained in not wasting food. The attitude I felt was I paid so-I-can-waste. Why don’t people learn to taste the food in small quantities, and help them to a second serving? I wonder! Also, one would definitely not find the theatre-going type crowd dining here. Hello Owners of JRC, i visited on 2nd March 24. Welcome and Service was nice my children really enjoyed the restaurant. The Asian dish (chickpeas/ chicken Korma ) etc was revolting 🤮 A different chef is needed or the food Trading Standards should be called in to inspect . I do eat Asian food ie Mirch Masala and other Indian restaurant's in Tooting . The food as mentioned was not fit for human consumption. Apart from that all was ok.

Horrendous... if i could give 0 stars i would, Your "Assistant manager" who was on the doors on the evening of Saturday 17th February 2024 in the grey jumper had no manners whatsoever your rules state that 80% of your party needs to be at the restaurant before being seated we had that and were still told if the rest of your party isn't here in 4 minutes he would be cancelling the reservation, The remaining 20% of the party arrived shortly after who explained the rest of their party was waiting for them inside and he tried to say he'd cancelled the reservation it was only when i stressed my party was already inside he bothered to ask for the reservation name and check his sheet. Absolutely ridiculous i will never return to your establishment again you really should be more stringent with who you hire and what type of characters you want representing the JRC name. Your staff even charged a 10 year old the full adult fee due to their height. The worst thing is people will continue to use your establishment and you'll make your money even though you don't deserve it. Disgusting

Shocking!! There were 5 of us two adults and three children but was made to pay for 4 adults as the two 13 year olds were half an inch over the height restriction line How can you judge a child’s age by height?? I questioned this and staff were very rude it doesn’t matter what your height you are it’s irrelevant in my view was asked for I.d to prove they were 13 we were going to a restaurant not another country so didn’t think passports would be needed The food was all cold everything that the 5 of us chose Would never return or recommend

So we went out to eat and the food was great, no complains about that. The time limit is where they were really strict, we had some family that were late but they started our time when we got there. When our time was running out, they had about 4 or 5 staff watching us eat and timing us. When we told them that some people arrived late, one staff rudely ignored what we said, had attitude with us and just kept on walking past our table. As we were eating, they got someone to take the plates that we were done with and started cleaning the table.

I can honestly say it’s not that great. For £25 a person it’s to much. The food they offer is cheap sorry to say this not much on offer just noodles and cheap meat. Everyone was taking the ribs pilling the plate so high for old boot 🥾 leather. There’s not much on offer just Chinese 🇨🇳 I was told there was loads off chefs well I didn’t see any. There was a Chinese man cooking steak 🥩 well that wasn’t steak. He was frying the cheapest skimpiest cheap cast off with tiger prawns it was disgusting 🤮 the tiger prawns were moving alive just throwing them under a metal top. He was very rude. And as for the cheap cheap pudding and horrible ice cream and cheap cakes and imitation coke.I would not recommend going there first and last horrible.

Jeez what a hideous, cold and awful place. I've never been met at a restaurant by security guards before and I guess that should gave forewarned me. With family for a big birthday and a location chosen by others. Food was prepared with zero care, empty serving plates everywhere and the only hot items seemed to be enormous amount of fried beige food. We and other tables complained about food temperatures to be told we must have walked to our table too slowly. The staff moved about loudly and chronically filling huge containers of plates to rush people out of their tables ( no need I couldn't leave fast enough) Very limited choices for anyone wanting meat free or more importantly palatable good.

Cold food, whole decor is falling apart and really tired. There is so much food waste it’s disgusting. I think a reasonable price would be £10 a head. In fact you should pay me £10 to eat there again. Terrible, avoid, don’t waste your money.

I was amazed at the price for the buffet but thought well if the food is good its worth it. It costs £26 per head. My issue is not the taste of the but the fact it was cold. Some dishes were lukewarm. Lukewarm/cold rice and noodles is actually in my opinion inedible. I eventually had to eat the cauliflower cheese and the potatoes with cream. They need to investigate why the food is cold. It was totally unacceptable.

Came with a party of 17 for my nieces birthday, although I’ve been here numerous times prior. We were seated relatively quickly and although a few of the party arrived late, including myself, there were no issues. We were given 1 hour and 45 mins to eat from time of table booking. It was Saturday night and extremely busy. We were given a reminder 20 minutes before our expiry time but we hadn’t finished eating so they just let us stay until they closed at 10:30pm which was awesome. Most of us bought bottomless soft drinks which were £3.80, however we bought a bottle of champagne for the table and thought it strange that the staff member was unable to open the bottle! All in all, there was a good and tasty selection of food and they re-stocked the buffet very regularly, since the popular foods tended to disappear relatively quickly. The deserts and fruits were delicious and they had a chocolate fountain which the younger children were keen on. The toilets were clean and staff were friendly. We forgot to bring a birthday cake but they were kind enough to make up some individual bowls of Eton mess ( the birthday girls favourite) so we could put our candles in and sing happy birthday. That was very kind of them! Would certainly recommend to others and will definitely return for more delicious food. There is free parking just outside the establishment.

I came here for the first time in July and have been back several times since then i always look forward to going back, great variety of food for all, the duck pancakes are amazing the best I have ever had and a great variety for fussy children which is a bonus.

We visited as a family group of 7 - we'd booked in advance and had no problem on arrival and was shown to our table. It's £24 per person midweek and then £3.80 for a refillable soft drinks cup. We have been several times before and were happy as usual with the place. We all loved the wide selection of foods available which was all very tasty. We particularly liked the station where the food is cooked to order in front of you - selection of steak, king prawns or lamb chops. Plenty of free parking.
