Joy Express in Midlothian

Obviously only going on my own experience but a solid seventeen yes 17 out of ten. They are always happy to add things on request, which for me is usually green chilies. Best beef chow mein ever and the Mongolian beef is also fab.

I tend not to take too much notice of food reviews as I think it’s down each persons taste, however it is important to know things like if the service was good, value for money and quality. But I will give my honest opinions on all things. Firstly, this was a large order for a family of fussy eaters and children with food sensory issues. We ALL thought the food was very well cooked, very tasty and plenty of it. The quality of the meat and veg was great and everything was full of flavour. The packaging was great and all the food kept warm while travelling out of town to bring it home. They never forgot an item(which we have issues with most places we go) the service was friendly and helpful with the specific requests we had. We ordered online which was very easy to do and found the menu was extensive and definitely value for money. The food was ready when it said it would be and we also had 10% off with this being our first order which helped. All in all we will definitely be back and highly recommend this takeaway.

Ordered food tonite 7.30 9pm order cancelled bloody rediculous no word of warning,will not use again have frequently used.

Been getting delivery’s from here for a while now Good food and app is easy to use not our local but always hot when delivered

Ordered through the app and requested no mushrooms in a dish. Opened the dish and it was full of them. Phoned up and was told to call next time to clarify as the chef doesn't read the note. Good to know if you have an allergy 🙃

Disgusting cold couldn't eat it 30 quid in the bin chips like cardboard and beef well was it beef 5 spice chicken tasteless won't order again and late delivery felt like it had Been out for hours

Woman at the counter looked suicidal, food was only warm and pretty tasteless, and the place looked grubby.

Excellent food and lovely delivery lady, it was great tasting and very filling. Will definitely use again.

Ordered 5 dishes tonight. Jesus Christ .. every dish went straight in the bin. Nothing fancy .. basic chinese take away staples. Horrendous. Phoned to let them know .. "Ok thanks for phoning " Giving our food a 1 is generous .Sunday night we thought a good night to order .. not as busy. Hope this is just a bad night but won't be trying it again . 😔

Genuinely got a delivery about 4 weeks ago phoned them back 5 minutes after the food was delivered no taste whatsoever said they would pick it up and refund sat on my kitchen bunker for 3 days then phoned back up said the lady would call me back 40 bucks down the drain terrible service

🤢🤢 ordered the hot and sour beef and it was absolutely vile, inedible and disgusting… I would not feed it to my dog. I don’t know what the meet was but it definitely didn’t look or taste like beef and was just fat.

After ordering and waiting 3 hours it was so disappointing, the chips were undercooked, the shredded xhicken was like rubber, the lemon chicken was dry and the peking spare ribs were not what i expected, dry, over cooked and bland unlike any other spare ribs, ive had. A replacement sent after half an hour, food warm but left a horrible after taste in my mouth like i had sucked stale grease through a straw, no replacement ribs. Totally disappointed from start to finish. Kelly was great on the phone but wont be ordering again even after offering a reduction next order. Food was disgusting to say the least.

Very disappointed, stone cold , no flavour chicken was soggy , chips soggy meant to be salt and chilli and like had been heated in microwave

Cold when arrived, chips had been clearly cooked for some time. Very hot chilli in the beansprouts, curry very runny with no taste and the chicken pieces rubbery.

Ordered online sweet sour Cantonese . beef black bean sauce.chips absolutely beautiful .the young lady that served me very polite and friendly price good would definitely recommend and will make this my go to for Chinese food thank you

We had a big order with 12 people meal was fantastic came on time and was perfectly prepared would recommend this place 100%

That is the second time we have ordered a meal from the joy express and it been terrible and when you phone to complain you get very little response. We will never use the joy express again.
