Johnny Wong's in Birmingham

Food was delicious but delivery time was 1.5hrs. Delivery person was really nice but the time they took was so long. A real shame as Johnny Wong has been our family favourite for years.

Food was tasty but barely warm! Not happy with delivery as a result.

My order arrived cold and tasted very bland, I was unable to finish this meal. The overall quality the food was very poor. I do not reccomend this restaurant. I reccomend you avoid this restaurant.

So I ordered without reading the last review, had I, I probably wouldn't have but we had crispy lemon chicken, sweet & sour king prawn balls and special curry and egg fried rice and it was under £30 there within 30 mins. Nice driver food delicious 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Had a delivery Monday 1st time here & LAST ..chips & rice ok, the Chicken curry omg!! The sauce was like water & tasteless & chicken was square cubes!!, was thrown away!! The sweet & sour chicken balls was only 6 & TINY as in no bigger than a 10p coin!! Rip off & chicken chow mein wasn't hot & again tasteless!! £45 down the drain! Don't waste your money here..

Had a delivery Monday night 1st time using here & NEVER again. Rice & chips ok. Sweet & sour chicken balls, smaller than a chicken nugget & only 6!!... chicken chow mein was tasteless!!! Chicken curry! A joke!! The sauce was like water, chicken was square cubes!!.. few peas that was it, went straight in bin... expensive too compared to decent take aways... worst one ever.. waste of money:(((

We have never eaten from Johnny wongs before and will never eat from there again. Not only is it super expensive compared to all the other local Chinese restaurants, the food was over an hour late in delivery. When calling them to ask where to food is there was no answer. I had to ring many times before getting through. Also when the food was dropped off to me the driver started shouting at me for no reason. So rude! The food was so cold and tasteless. Honestly, I'd recommend other places which you may need to drive to get, but the food is worth it - never this place. Waste of your money and the food is awful!

Food never came. Asked for a text message, never came. Tried to call the restaurant, they don’t reply. Generic voicemail. Just terrible. I’ve reported this for a refund and been told just eat will contact me in a few days! Just grand. Thanks a bunch Can’t really rate the food quality as it never came but it won’t let me submit this without rating both

worst Chinese I've ever had ,could tell it was going to be bad when I opened the prawn crackers and they were stale threw it in the bin 30quids worth of food in the bin horrible

Not authentic at all yet I’ve visited the Resturant years ago don’t believe it’s the same owners filler steak was full of tomatoes & sugar + young chow rice flavourless food arrived cold too :(

Chips were undercooked The beef dish was very very wstery with a small amount of beef. and veg undercooked. I have eaten in several times so thought a rake away would be similar quality. Unfortunately not.

Amazing food lovely staff and top service, my only gripe was the kids wanted some chop sticks to take home, After two of the kids had been using them, They was told they can't take them home but can each have a new pair at £1 each i found this very strange & is this common practice:-0

Worst Chinese I’ve ate. Noodles were cold. The beef black bean sauce was absolute vile and it’s not even the right colour. Taken over an hour to come. Awful

Absolutely atrocious service. Over an hour late! Tried calling the restaurant and nobody is picking up...food still hasn't arrived and they have the audacity to charge a £5 delivery fee! I'm really shocked by the service.

Not up to the usual standards. It was ok but not delicious. Ribs were dry and rice tasted old. Sweet & sour pawns were yummy. Chow mien was awful don’t like the thin noodles also had mushrooms in when I requested without. Curry was so thick. Soup was nice but chips were cheap and nasty overall disappointing when you have spent £70

Once again Johnny Wong's food is beautiful. I love their menu. it's always a treat that never fails to deliver. Keep it up Guys.

Honestly don’t waste your money! Best thing we received was the coca cola that was the only edible thing! Chips tasted like yesterdays was microwaved my bf didn’t touch it after trying just a chip. Waste of 30 quid and a very annoyed pregnant hormonal woman who just wanted a Chinese

Vegan meat that tasted like the real deal. Would go back here for this reason. Portion sizes are large, we ordered too much. Hope to go back if we visit Birmingham again.

The food was blunt the rice tastes like cupboards box the ribs are tiny little bwhite bone things the beef in black bean sauce was very bad I have never eaten tasteless chinese food like from this place the best is how quick the delivery was as if they defrosted frozen food that's how it tested

It was cold, so I had to warm it up in the microwave and then whilst it was certainly OK, it was quite lacking in flavour.

Delivered late. Food was not good at all; lemon chicken; tofu in black bean saucs, and tofu in sweet and sour sauce all had almost no sauce in so were very dry (“sauce” is a generous label for those dishes). Yuk sung was clearly just a bag of mixed frozen vegetables, poor quality veg and not tasty. The lettuce was browning so not fresh either. We only went there because our usual place was closed on Mondays. Johnny Wong’s is nearly twice the price and half the quality. Will definitely not be returning.

The driver did not deliver to my door I had to meet him outside with my young baby. Food was lovely

I paid £11 for scallops with ginger and spring onions. The dish contained one scallop cut into tiny pieces and the “spring” onion was just huge lumps of half cookec onion. A horrible rip off. AVOID

Had the worse experience with these guys. Food was over an hour late and when finally delivered was cold. Tried calling after food arrived but to no answer and this was after multiple attempts. Would definitely not recommend. Ask for a refund only to be declined. Very unhappy with this place

Ordered at 18:30, estimated arrival was 19:20-19:40 but did not turn up. I Sent a text to the restaurant through JustEat, the restaurant apologised and said food would arrive by 20:00. At 20:00 we started calling the restaurant but there was no answer after about 20 attempts. At 20:20 we had to make other arrangements. At 20:30, I received a phone call to say that the Chinese was outside, however when it arrived the food was cold and very rubbery (including meat and fish). Very disappointing.

Food was very disappointing tonight We had sweet n sour prawn over cooked Special chow mien was oily and meat was stale rubbery curry was thick with a skin on top. Prawn toast was burnt sweetcorn soup was watery and no flavour. 1/4 of duck was dry and not much meat. Total waste of £70 not up to normal standards

Food arrived a little later but nothing too bad. Worth the wait, food was nice and warm. Looking forward to ordering again sometime :)

Called at 9:30 pm and placed an order for £40 I had a tip for the driver as I always do and I waited for over an hour and he never turned up with my order. Won’t be ordering again and no more tips for you. Shame on you, didn’t even bother telling me you wasn’t coming and I always order with you. Not any more

Chips were cold, rice crackers were stale and food wasn't very nice. Partner chucked half of hers away!

Had to contact Just Eat twice as both estimated times had passed. Nearly 2 hour wait!!! Eventually arrived via taxi. Refunded £5, wow! Would have ordered elsewhere if I’d known the waiting time. Didn’t fancy it once arrived as had gone past hunger, plus rice was extremely sticky like it was overcooked!

Tasteless food. Ordered salt & pepper bean curd and it had no taste (definitely no salt or pepper). Was also watery so I’m assuming the bean curd had been frozen and hadn’t been cooked properly. Shame as there is a decent choice of vegetarian dishes.

Takeaway and delivered however the £5.50 delivery charge is a joke and then the cheek to charge for the bag which is not necessary as food and a service charge rip off squid tiny amount also freezer burnt and tasted off the chicken and sweetcorn soup no taste ribs were tiny little bits sweet and sour balls swimming in sauce usually comes separate won't be using again

Ordered food at 18:44, delivery was estimated for 19:25-19:45. Food was delivered at 20:13. Food was alright but cold and needed to be reheated.

Noodles were not proper noodles to skinny. Ribs only bit size not proper long ribs.

I’m not sure what is going on with the chef but the quality and taste of the fried rice wasn’t up to the usual standards. It had a burnt/smoky taste which left a bitter aftertaste. It ruined the taste of the rest of the food on my plate. Considering the prices they charge, I’m really disappointed with the meal this evening :-(

We LOVE the food here, however, an extra pound for each main meal, an extra pound for the delivery fee and an extra 30p on soups all adds up and we ended up paying like 5 pounds more than our last order due to price increases. This means we are less likely to order food in future as it is simply getting too expensive.

The rice is good but the chicken tastes and feels wrong and it too chewy like it’s been made a long time ago and just sitting. My order came late but the restaurant was nice

Delicious food, but food repeatedly comes late which is frustrating especially when ordered in good time. The 15p carrier bag charge is mystifying as a bag isn’t requested and they could just as easily use recycled paper bags.

I ordered sweet and sour bean curd, this is always my go to whenever I see it in the menu. Sadly, the tofu was not the best. The outside was perfect, but the middle was watery and squishy. My partner ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, he said they were delicious but the sauce was a little tart maybe a bit on the vinegar side. I had soft plain noodles with my bean curd, these were absolutely delicious! Not too greasy, not too salty, they were thin style noodles and you got a huge portion! Not sure I would order again, mainly because I don’t eat meat, and the bean curd wasn’t the best. But had I been a neat eater, I would 100% order from here again!

Delivery driver pulled up in traffic and refused to get out of the car. I had to walk in to the main road and lean into the car window to pick up the food as he Said there was nowhere to park when there was parking space on both sides of the road. Shocking service for a £90 order

Should I have got the correct order the food would have been lovely. The Lady that called was very polite. Unfortunately what I ordered didn’t arrive and what did come I didn’t eat as it has peppers and onions in. So that is why have given the star rating I have. However the delivery was exceptional.
