John Dory's in Belfast

Under cooked chips and cold. Burger cold and tasteless I’m very disappointed won’t be back To expensive to be getting bad food. There are many other chippys in the east that do great food.

Really love this place. Food is beautiful. Would recommend to anyone. Xx

Order was 1 hour late. I pressed the “late” button and received a text to say it would be with me in ten minutes. 50 minutes later it still hasn’t arrived but says “food delivered” on the Just Eat app so now there’s no option for a refund on the app. Extremely disappointing. Giving the food one star as it didn’t arrive at all! Hungry household. Not impressed.

Chips where soggy chicken was rubbery and sauce was tasteless and funny texture usually nice but really poor especially at the prices that is paid it will be while a long time before I order again

I ordered from John Dory's (Holywood Rd, Belfast) at 5.35 on Sun 2 June - delivery was timedr between 6.25-6.45. By 7.25 the food hadn't arrived, I rang the restaurant and was assured the food had been prepared and was ready for delivery. by 7.55 the food had not been delivered so I rang again. As I was speaking to the restaurant the food arrived at 8.00. The food was at best tepid when we began to eat. This is the second time I have the same issue with this restaurant. totally dissa

Normally a decent chippy tho can be very inconsistent so loses a star

Horrible fish was all soggy I had to give it to my dog we where looking forward to it but everything was freezing cold too I would like a full😡😡😡😡😡😡waste of money

The Delivery driver was brilliant. We've had a bereavement today in the family, but it went out of our mind to leave a tip. Please tell the delivery driver we are so sorry and we would love the option to give a tip!!

delivery 10 mins late 1 can short and tub off sauce

This was supposed to be delivered between 6.30 and 6.45 pm. It now 7.36 and there’s still no sign of it despite contacting them twice for an update on where the order is. I’m v disappointed.

Food was just ok, special the breakfast could improve . . Anyways writing this review to praise the delivery driver was pleasant and deliver to my door ,

The food in here has gone down so bad they sent greasy food and not what i ordered when you ring them its wanna refund with no one held to Acount the girls are daft as a brush.So as from tonight im waiting on two refunds. Vile people

Food was piping hot, delivery driver wad nice. We'd ordered chicken curry loaded chips, it was chicken and peas and spot the onion with thick gloopy sauce dumped on top of chips that doesn't even taste like curry

The place was packed, the person taking orders wasn’t paying attention, the staff were miserable, the chips undercooked and overpriced, and I’ve had better battered fish from the frozen section of Tesco. Also parking is hellish at the Boulevard so if you’re gonna get a John Dory’s maybe go to the Ballyhack one…. Since moving from the petrol station, this John Dory’s has gone from being mostly pretty reliable to awful. I won’t be back. I only went here the other day because Codzilla on Belmont Road was shut for Xmas and New Year.

Paid for fish supper and a fish. Neither arrived and at £24... This place is a con!

Terrible food was stale when we finally got it 3 hours after it was ordered rang twice to be told it was on the way only for it too arrive an hour later

Given the holidays the food tasted like the staff didn't want to be Mack at work honestly, gravy runny and diluted tasting, chicken gravy that we also ordered was just a normal gravy

No cheese on the gravy chips even tho was asked for beforehand on the phone, no hashbrown on the burger and everything was quite cold.

Order took 2.5 hours from the time we ordered, rang and was told it left 5 mins ago, then took another 30 mins from that. I love 5 mins away from Dorys. Nightmare would never order again food was alright very salty but hot

We ordered chips and a cheesy chip to go with our fish. The portion size for the cheesy chip was miserable and the chips weren't much better.

Stood for ages awaiting my order this afternoon, became clear they forgot my order of 2 sodas then they rushed and got it wrong. Wasn't until I got home I realised. So 30 minute wait for 2 incorrect sodas isn't good

Delivery driver was first class getting through traffic that time of evening and we were very appreciative. 👍

Worst customer service ever phoned up to ask about my order. As it was late they said it was under the heat, lamps and delivery driver wouldn’t be long. 20 minutes later still nothing phone back they said it was still under the heat lamp and the delivery driver was on the way to them by the stage, I know my food was sitting for at least 40 minutes under the heat lights so I told them I wanted a refund. They said there’s nothing they can do just contact just eat terrible attitude, not even a story

Worst meal ever. Unless you like your scampi chewy and tasting like they come from a Chinese takeaway and are prepared to wait 1 and a half hours for delivery, avoid like the plague.

I have to say the food was so nice! And it was piping hot! The only let down was the delivery time which was an hour but then it was 35 minutes late on top of that which was way too long we were all starving....but food was delicious so thank you!!

It was 45 mins early so we were in the middle of the kids bath time when it arrived v inconvenient. So by the time we got to eat it, it was cold

I’m very disappointed- I love this place and I always get a kids goujon meal- I got the smallest chips ever!! Usually u get a fair amount considering a goujon meal is nearly 6 pounds!

Love your peas and onions and the wee delivery person is always so nice!

Truly fantastic meal, I got the fish supper & he got fish goujons. Outstanding quality fresh fish which isn't that easy to find at the moment. Perfectly crispy batter surrounding succulent fish. Satisfying with generous portions and tasty sauces. We know our food & would highly recommend. Nice delivery driver too which always helps! Don't review much but this meal really deserved it.

Chicken gravy had a flour texture, wasnt great! Bolognese was beautiful and loads cheese, was hit! Requested amendments that was completed perfectly.

Smaller store but seems better. Ordered the kids meals and kids enjoyed it. I had the fish and the batter was perfect. Chips were fresh, golden and just perfect inside. The smaller shop does make it feel more crowded when busy so don't like that much but otherwise the staff were happy, customers seemed happy and the new spot may just bring other business to the surrounding shops nearby . The spot JD has replaced stood empty for a while so it is nice to see JD taking the spot and making it work.

Ordered nearlly 3 hours ago and food still hasn’t arrived have tried to ring the store 10 times and no answer

Ordered at 5.50pm food arrived at 8.15pm. Rang the restaurant at 6.50 (after the estimated time) and was told the food was going out soon and should be with me at 7.20pm. Nothing. Rang again 40mins later and was told the food would be out in the next batch. Delivery is abysmal. Food was cold on arrival and a drink missing from the order. Would not order anytime soon. I just hope the place gets sorted with times and logistics if they are too busy to deliver within a two hour period

It has been over an hour and a half and still no food has arrived. Have rang the restaurant twice to be told they are really busy. And that the food was on its way. I expect to be refunded in full for this order. And won't be using this restaurant again.

Can't get through to the restaurant at all they just hang up on you it was ordered at 6 nearly 8 and its still hasn't came! My grandmother had to be bk to the home for 8 so has left with no dinner! Quite annoyed with the order and service and the holding on the phone then they hang up 15 times I have tried to get through to someone!!! Never again!!

Delivery was late food was cold, items were missing paid for a drink and an extra dip but I received no drink or dip. Delivery was late, I rang the store to ask where my delivery was as it was reading delivered on just eat but I hadn’t received it. I was passed to different people to then be hung up on. When the food arrived it was cold.

Ordered just after 6 and food was not arriving until 7 35. We live a shprt distance away. Called the shop several times with no answer. Food had to be reheated in the microwave as it was cold. If i didn't have 2 kids and a diabetic in the house it would hsve been returned. Nearly £40 spent and tasted awful. Never ordering from here again

Have to say I’ve never tasted more disgusting food! My chicken curry went straight in the bin!! Was absolutely plastered in stringy onions and the chicken was gross! A total waste of money one mouthful was enough after scraping all the onion off it covered the top lid! I definitely will not order from here again!

Said it was delivered at 8oclock when it wasn't. Hadn't left the shop at 20.13 which was 10mins after it said it was delivered online? Food arrived at 20.51 As a result the food was cold and very unsatisfactory.

The best cod supper I’ve had in ages...will defo be ordering again.
