All I can say is don't buy cruzacampo anything over the price of £3.50 it taste absolutely vile don't no if it's because they don't get served much or they don't clean the lines but it was un drinkable pointless speaking too the staff there too busy taking too each other

Yep,Iike the place, nice environment, staff pleasant,horse racing,football,always on if thats what you like,dog friendly too.Food looks fine but admittedly, never gone past salted peanuts.yep I would recommend

Stopped here for a meal on our way back to Liverpool airport The service from the pub manager cannot be faulted pleasant welcome when we walked in asked us where we were from etc Food was good and priced well Asked if he could recommend a good taxi service he said he would ring one straight away it was here within minutes will definitely be returning on our next visit to Liverpool

Just called in for a pint and a look at the menu. It's very reminiscent of Wetherspoon's inside. It's quite large with plenty of tables and seats. When we went in there was only one person serving behind the bar, so there was a bit of a wait to get served but the staff were very nice and prices were good. They had a reasonable range of beers but only one cask ale that I could see. Had a look at the menu and it looked quite good with a nice range of meals. Will have to call back to try the food out.

Would like to thank the John Brodie for letting us have the celebration of my mums life there - the tables were set out lovely and the buffet food was really good, freshly cooked, staff were very attentive which was what was needed at such a difficult time for us

I have been to the John Brodie a handful of times and it's always been a nice, pleasurable, eating experience. Nothing flash, but bright and airy with comfortable surroundings. Very decent pub grub.

Great pub, decent prices with plenty of TV’s for sport.

The staff were very nice and helpful in picking food from the menu, served us quickly with a smile. Food came fresh and tasted great! Will return

It's no surprise that it's hard to find how to leave a review for the John Brodie pub in allerton Rd suffice to say the long wait, forvwarm food and out of date sauces and sticky wobbly table , one can only expect that someone would find the review bit and sort this out also advertised as a cask ale pub oh sorry no cask ales on don't sell enough according to the barmaid all in all no return in the future

Nice place, I very much liked the booths with TVs that is a great idea. The seating is also very comfortable. The menu offered a good selection of food at reasonable prices, and the staff were pleasant and polite. However, my experience was marred by the food. While the quantity and presentation were fine, my Breakfast had been sitting for some time before it was brought to me, which was evident from the temperature. The eggs had set hard and a skin had developed on the beans. Despite looking appetizing, I would have preferred to enjoy it hot.

Wandered in one morning between shifts lookong for a breakfast. Thought it was a spoons. Similar but not great breakfast, and now on my third visit. Can't fault it for what it is, good food n drink well priced and served with a smile. A great midday pitstop for me.

Went there on a Friday evening, not too busy but went to bar just as a group of blokes came in, barman (shirt fat one) stared straight through me, didn't ask what I wanted but proceeded to pour pints for group, who didn't even order, obviously locals. Then after that he did exactly the same again, another barman served me in the end. Won't be going there again, their loss as have a big group of sports company coming out next week, at least 29 of us and would have gone there for drinks and food..

Lovely service! Came in to see relatives and the staff where incredibly helpful and friendly. Couldn’t fault them. Food was quick and piping hot! I will definitely be returning here! UPDATE Another visit, another amazing service. Can’t fault anything in The John Brodie. Amazing staff, fantastic atmosphere, gorgeous food and a wide variety of drinks. UPDATE 2023 Always pop in with friends/family and constantly greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Food is always outstanding…always guilty of ordering food every time I’m there! Love poppin down and having a chat with staff, they’ll always go above and beyond for you and will never be afraid to go that extra mile for you. UPDATE Dec 2023 Can never get enough of coming here for a drink with friends and family. Very fair prices on drinks and food and the staff are second to none. Staff are not afraid to come over and have a friendly chat with you or discuss any issues you may have. Looking forward to a few Xmas drinks with friends and family. They recently told me about an app called Mixr (available on your App Store). You can earn point through scanning the QR Code. The more you scan the more money you earn towards a drink. When you download the app you get a complimentary drink! I was quick to download and use every time. Again, I wouldn’t have known this before the staff told me. Thank you! Great pub! Staff were brilliant looked after us and on a busy weekend they kept the place tidy, didn’t wait for food or to be served drinks, will definitely be returning!

Came in for a pint and something to eat, was served by Abby and Victoria who was amazing. I had to thank the chef who was also called dan for the delicious food. Definitely will be back

Had a breakfast here today. My other half had chicken wings. We both enjoyed the meals. One thing I did not like the sausages were awful. Thick skins ( cheap) and quite tastless

My recent visit to John Brodie in Liverpool was nothing short of a culinary disaster. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was tainted by an abysmal display of service. The man assigned to our table appeared to have mastered the art of laziness and rudeness, creating an unwelcoming ambiance that lingered throughout the evening. To start, our drinks never graced our table, and when we dared to question their whereabouts, we were met with an eye roll and a dismissive exit. The lackadaisical attitude permeated the entire dining experience, leaving us feeling neglected and unimportant. The food, oh, the food! The steak and ale pie, a supposed specialty, arrived as a frozen monstrosity. The meat within was an unappetizing combination of chewy and fatty, as if it had been haphazardly thrown into the oven straight from the freezer. Even the fish, supposedly fresh, exhibited the unmistakable texture of being frozen solid. As for the curry sauce, it defied the laws of fluidity. Attempting to pour it was an exercise in futility, as it stubbornly clung to the bowl, mocking our attempts to enjoy a decent meal. Each bite of the allegedly delectable dishes only deepened our disappointment. What's worse, the disregard for customer satisfaction reached its pinnacle when we voiced our concerns about the wrong food order. The indifference displayed was astounding – a collective shrug as if our dissatisfaction meant nothing. Regrettably, the repercussions of this gastronomic nightmare didn't end with our departure. In the aftermath, a lingering sense of unwellness settled upon our party, a final insult to injury. In conclusion, my experience at John Brodie was a parade of culinary catastrophes and lackluster service, leaving me questioning how such an establishment can continue to operate. Save yourself the disappointment and seek out a dining venue where customer satisfaction is more than an afterthought.

It's a fairly standard new style pub but a nice friendly atmosphere in here. Service was always fast from the staff during our visit. Good range of beers wines and spirits and fairly priced 👍

Fantastic place to go for a Christmas meal. Mark and all the staff were so friendly and attentive. The festive menu was delicious. I would highly recommend eating or drinking here.

Well decorated for Christmas 🎄, but way too loud TVs and the bar staff were slow. Took 15 min to get 4 drinks.

Had fabulous meal yesterday with my partner at 4.30. Booked a table and was by a window as I’d hopefully requested. Fantastic staff friendly cheerful. Great atmosphere food exceptional and prices very reasonable. Best place we’ve been in for such a long time. Well done to management bar staff and chef. Truly 5*. Merry Christmas. Always go this place for some food and reasonable prices -afraid not anymore prices have gone through the roof for food and drink - bottle of wine £17 - Xmas food menu a rip off - no cheap drinks with meals - no drinks price list in the whole pub so no idea what any of the drinks costs are they making up the prices. So sad to see this place charge these prices - wont be going anymore as can get far cheaper drinks and food elsewhere. So long John Brodie - Allerton Road is just far too expensive now.

If you’re not a regular punter be prepared to wait at the bar. Also told us food unavailable but other tables receiving their meals. Plenty of other establishments to visit on Allerton road, give it a miss.

Only popped in for a lemonade whilst passing. Haven't been there for years. Won't be in a rush to go back, furniture is manky and stinks. Staff were lovely though.

Been in on multiple occasions now, whether it was for a lovely affordable meal, to watch the football or to sit down and do a classic pub quiz. Bar is always clean and aesthetically looks superb. Will be returning👍🏼

First time I've been here. Walked across from one of the restaurants opposite. First time I've been in a Wetherspoons that didn't have any real ale on. Just stayed for a couple of drinks. Not impressed.

An impromptu visit resulted in a very positive experience. Had the 10oz steak, cooked to perfection, actually felt like I'd had something to eat, and it was reasonably priced. My friend had the 10oz gammon steak and also said it was decent. 2 really decent meals and 2 drinks for under £30...bargain, will definitely be going back there again in future

In the last couple of years the menu has less choice and the amount/ size of the dishes smaller and not great.

Ordinary chain pub. Wine is cheap and cheery the food pretty much the same.

Just been there and literally stood at the bar for 10 minutes while the barmaids stood chatting wasn't even acknowledged so went back table got my coat and left.

Not a posh restaurant, it's a pub but you certainly get good food at a great price and the service was quite good and reasonably quick. Don't come here often but may come back soon after todays visit.

Mens toilets blocked told staff 3 times

Usually love this place but not today. Went in for their lovely chicken wings. Got told the kitchen was closed for at least 30 mins while they dealt with a big table that came on. Not a problem. But a guy 2 mins after me got food 10 mins later. Then I noticed other tables recieving food so went back up to re order just to be told the kitchen was closed again for another 30 mins. I tried to explain to the guy behind the bar that I had been waiting, but he wasn't too bright, then the girl who told me in the first place to wait 30 mins wasn't any better. Shocking service. So sad, because I love the place usually.
