Steadily knocking out great breakfast sandwiches... one of the only places you can ask for a runny yolk on your fried egg and actually get it... there’s nowt worse than ordering a bacon and egg sandwich and the yolk being set firm like a haribo. Well done to all the staff at Johannes... you’ve not let me down yet!!!!!

We had a traditional English tea with all the little sandwiches and cake after, we enjoyed it very much, the food was good especially the sandwiches. I would come back.

I got introduced to Joanne's on ecclesall road today by my husband and I'm so glad he did. After he went there yesterday and came home raving about it he insisted I go with him today and try it for myself. Well I wasn't dissapointed. I've never experienced so many flavours in a ham salad sandwich. They piled it high with ham lettuce onion cress peppers egg tomatoes cucumber beetroot and to top it off Heinz salad cream. It was on a huge brown bread cake. Ye not a roll a cake it was massive and it was only £3.05. It was absolutely delicious and the friendly staff made the experience even more pleasant. Well done Joanne's u have actually succeeded to impress my husband which I will say is very hard as he's extremely fussy and has never come home and raved about a ham sandwich before ever. Especially not to the point where he's dragging me there the next day. I'm so glad he did otherwise I would never of experienced this little bit of heaven on ecclesall rd. So if anybody out there is looking for a fantasticly delicious full of flavour huge cheap sandwich u must go to Joanne's and I can guarantee u will not find anything better. So once again thank you Joanne for showing me that there is somewhere In Sheffield that actually makes the perfect sandwich.

I went to Johanne's sandwich shop today and I fell in love . What can I say apart from this is the best ham salad sandwich I have ever eaten . From the fresh bread cake and beautiful slices of best ham was topped of with egg crest beetroot peppers onions lettuce and to top all this off henz salad cream . And all this for a little over £3 for a large . I thought this was going to be an expensive cafe from where it is situated but it was very reasonable . Thank you for spoiling my tasted buds . Will definitely return there again really soon . So if anybody in Sheffield want to be impressed like I was give Johanne's a try . You won't regret it

My daughter called in for a sandwich on her way to work. The assistant was very rude and snappy about the kind of bread she wanted her sandwich on instead of the assistant making it clear what was on offer in the first place. The sandwich was nice so maybe if the rude assistant had proper customer service training then we may return .

Excellent afternoon tea bought on Groupon for £20 for 4 people. Latte coffee, fresh sandwiches (plenty of variety), fresh scone and cakes. Relaxed setting and friendly, happy waitress who was very obliging. Would definitely return.

Initially greeted by a fairly stressed and grumpy assistant, visit redeemed slightly by her pleasant and smiley counterpart. Afternoon tea disappointingly average, with very small portions, 1 coffee and no offer of refill. Ordering from the main menu would have been better.

I booked an afternoon tea with a groupon voucher for four people, one of which is a celiac, on booking she said we don't really cater for this but could do a cake, but doesn't do the bread part, I was fine with this, on arrival she asked what they could do for the celiac person which I wasn't expecting! so she had a chicken salad, I thought this was very good of them, the sandwiches and tea, coffee, cakes were absolutely lovely, a lovely little place with friendly staff and lovely food, would recommend and would definitely go back again. Yum Yum!

We came here with one of their Groupon deals which was extremely good price; £20 for 4 people! We ended up only having 3 but they were happy to still uphold the voucher (and we got more food each!) As expected with an afternoon tea, you didn't get a choice in what you got other than the drink but the sandwiches were lovely as were the cakes but one thing on the plate, and annoyingly I forget what it was now, was delicious! Had one bite and left the rest until the end! I will definitely be returning here. A great find just round the corner from me, small, quaint, personalised and not too busy. The 3 of us ended up chatting for 2.5hours before we headed downstairs to find they were ready to close but hadn't asked us once to leave or hurry. Lovely staff!

I have been to Johannes on a number of occasions. Johanne and her staff have always been very friendly and helpful. There is an extensive menu and wonderful homemade cakes. The breakfasts are also very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend to anyone passing for breakfast, lunch or an afternoon tea!!!

We went with a Groupon voucher and had the afternoon tea, which included sandwiches, cakes, scones and hot drinks. We were a bit disappointed that we weren't given the option to choose anything other than the hot drink, but understood that it was all part of the Groupon experience. We had a good time, but we probably won't return without a voucher.

The Rutland Arms is an absolute GEM! I would move to Sheffield just to be close to this amazing pub. Food was AMAZING. Great selection of beers and punters too! And the staff were very friendly. We will be back!

We heard that the Angel Inn had re-opened under new management, and that the pub had been given a make-over and were now doing really good food - so we thought we would go and check it out! We went along mid-afternoon on Thursday 25th January, 2024, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, a nice, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Louise the manager, who we took-to immediately, is so enthusiastic and passionate about running a good pub. They have a wide range of drinks and the menu although limited at present, is set to be extended, and they do Sunday lunch. The chef, an ex-army chef but with lots of civilian experience in restaurants too, is also passionate about providing great, home-made food. We very much liked the look of things, so we booked for Sunday lunch - we went along on Sunday 28th January - the food did not disappoint! We had a choice of beef, pork or chicken, or we could have some of each. The plate came out with the meat, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, along with it came a large dish of vegetable and a gravy boat. As promised, everything was home-made, cooked from scratch and as we expected, totally delicious! Then came dessert, we all had treacle sponge with custard, but there was a choice of jam sponge, apple crumble or cheese-cake, - home made, and it too was delicious!, and all at a reasonable price - well worth it! We will be back - but we are also going to go along mid-week and check out their menu offers - they are going to be getting wine and drinks offers too - what more could you want! 👍😁.

Waiter gave us a menu and explained the process for ordering etc very promptly. Young lady behind the coffee bar took my order nicely and asked me to wait for the coffee for me to take to our table. No problem with that. However, whilst waiting, the initial girl and the other girl barista chatted very loudly, no rush to make my drinks. They were discussing a story between them and we're swearing f***ING loudly and persistently in front of me and other customers . Unaware this is not a great experience.
