Joe's Chippy in Great Yarmouth

This is a takeaway that's why I didn't put anything in the atmosphere box, the fish and chips we had tasted so good and freshly cooked.

Great place, great friendly staff, decent portions and without doubt best fish and chips in the local area of Great Yarmouth and Gorleston.

Easy parking, very well organised. Quick service, queue moved quickly so no long waiting time. Establishment very clean and tidy. Fish beautifully fried and extremely good value for money. Would highly recommend.

I went here years ago and the food wasn't that good but I heard it had changed hands and tried it and I'm glad I did , plenty of chips and the cod was very nice and the staff were very friendly and busy . I'll definitely be going back .

Friendly staff, food good and value for money

Go there weekly for my grandad. They know me well and always greet me with a smile and ask how family are. It's usually busy every Friday I go, but you're never kept waiting too long. Prices are good for the quality you get. Never had a complaint!

Always great tasting food at a reasonable price. A good selection Most things made with golden crispy batter. Parking outside. They only take cash and the staff are friendly. My fave chip shop at the moment.

Joe's Chippy is a nice place to go if you haven't thought up a meal for lunch or dinner. The food is lovely, it's warm inside the building and the employees are also just as lovely as the food you can buy. I'd reccomend going here for a quick dinner. Service is quick and for all of those reasons, I give it ★★★★★! 🍟 ~ 💕

The food was delicious and so was the fish and good friendly staff

I mean the amount of chips you get is over the top in all honesty but for families and kids it’s a bargain, however I know chippies are struggling atm but honestly the size of your cod roe portions are daylight robbery, this product comes tinned and I know the wholesale price, you have sliced this as thin as you possibly could without it falling apart, this has lost my custom.

Fish tasted tainted, like old... Overall both fish & chips were less than warm.... This is a regular occurrence so it's the lady one for us

Lovely food often vist if we have a hospital appointment ans only 5 min drive. Lovely sausages and large portions.

Had large haddock and chips. The batter was crispy and fish well cooked had medium size chips which was enough for two. Service was fast and efficient. It is on a local housing estate, but not hard to find. The only problem for some might be it is cash only, but there is a cash machine at the CO-OP or the Morrisons Local both are more or less next door to the chippie.

Always great value for money at joes, we come from Lowestoft and won’t go anywhere else, had family come down last week and we got them a joes chippy they too were impressed. Best around in my opinion.

Just had 1 medium chips and 1 large chips the portions were massive the staff were very friendly and got served quickly

As usual 'Simple The Best' even though we are all having to cope with the cost of living problem having your meal from Joe's Chippy is so cost effective as the portions and quality of food is exceptional and during these difficult times they are still serving the 'Best'. Well done all of you.

Some food is prepped to order but some is ready in the window unfortunately. Our food was made to order and was very tasty. The fish was fresh and curry sauce was good too. Cash only so have to dock a star for that otherwise a decent chippy

How much would 3 fritters jumbo sausage and fish cake come too... As my change tonight from £10 was £3.80.....no way should that meal come too £6.20...think I was short changed... So my five star review is now only one star

Great food always hot and friendly people

The potion size was massive, enough to fee a horse 😂 the paper for the chips was see through and falling appart with greese, revealing a mush of bland chips. Fish was well cooked, seasoned with more oil! My shets gonna fly out faster than a toboggan over a cliff edge

Hi I like the chips they are lovely but one of your staff members have been lying and causing arguments between me and my partner whenever he has gone in to get chips she has been spreading lies and telling him stuff which is causing arguments I have spoke to her and she has said she can’t get in trouble for it and I would like something to happen as everything she has said have been lies and I thought it was a bit unprofessional for her to be doing this while she is working the staff members name is Courtney.

Very nice fish and chips. We had three small portions of cod and chips - portions are big and food was freshly prepared. Prices are fair. We will use it again.

Found worms in my fish today Mon 28th October 2019... And some other black stuff.. Fish tasted like it had been washed with a mild disinfectant to disquise rot, . Meat was mushy and old.

Joes chippy is a hit or miss if the truth be told, sometimes the chips are crisp and golden other times they are sloppy and pale but that depends on what time you go there. that being said i have had a lovely thick flakey piece of cod so alls not that bad

This is a lovely chippy - the chips are always cooked to perfection - just off golden and soooo fresh. I always order the large cod which is succulent and what dreams are made of.

Best fish and chips in gorleston

Had a bad takeaway from here a few months ago, but as it was always great before, thought we’d try again last night, wife had fishcake and chips, really enjoyed it. I had Cod and chips, the cod was obviously reheated as I’ve never seen anything like it, you could not get a knife through the batter, the fish was tough and tasteless. Worst piece of fish I’ve ever had. Avoid if you are thinking of going near to opening time, wait until all reheated stuff has gone.

The food is second to none here. The premises is beautifully clean. Finally, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Cannot fault Joe's Chippy on anything.

Went in and ordered a big cod. It was like a fish finger i had to refuse politely and leave
