Went for breakfast this morning with a friend. Could not fault it 10/10. Sausage was amazing, lovely bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. People working there genuinely interested in how our experience was. Will definitely return

If you’re after a classic country pub with no frills, just timeless charm and great food, The Wheatsheaf is the place to go. This old-fashioned gem is full of character, with its rustic interiors, warm ambiance, and a proper traditional pub vibe. The menu stays true to its roots, offering comforting, classic dishes without the need for modern twists. I tried the fish and chips, and it was everything you’d hope for—crispy, golden batter encasing tender, flaky fish, served with perfectly cooked chips. It’s hearty, satisfying, and exactly what a pub meal should be. Dog lovers will especially appreciate The Wheatsheaf, as it’s wonderfully dog-friendly. After a countryside stroll, it’s the perfect spot to unwind, with water bowls and even treats available for your four-legged companions. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly take pride in maintaining the warm, inviting feel of the pub. Whether you’re looking for a classic meal, a pint in a cozy setting, or somewhere to bring your dog, The Wheatsheaf is a true treasure.

Quirky delightful shop with great value handbags and clothes, as well as sundry gifts. The owners made us welcome and told us about their Friday morning crafting sessions around the table centre store.

A lovely little coffee shop that always has some vegan options, both savoury and sweet.

In my opinion this is the best pub in Sudbury, most certainly as far as real ale and cider is concerned. The pub has meticulously kept beer at reasonable prices and some interesting guest ales appear on a rotation basis every week or so alongside some great core range ales from the local brewery. Updates of the new beers on tap can be helpfully found on their Facebook page, as can be information regarding live music acts (every Sunday) and for other events. The pub is dog friendly and some adorable mutts frequent the pub. If you're a Sudbury resident with a dog that is well behaved then I'd definitely recommend walkies to The Brewery Tap. You will find the staff are friendly and courteous. For those with the unfortunate (yet compelling) affliction of smoking, there is a beer garden with shelter from the rain. For those coming from further afield, be aware this pub has no car park for exclusive use of patrons, but you can find nearby places to park.
