The Best place for Vegan food in Wellingborough! They have a great vegan Mac and cheese and awesome customer service! We Love this Place

First time visit to June Plum and it won't be the last! Food was really good and enjoyed by everyone in our little party. Have to mark it down a little for the cost of the drinks - £7 for a pint of Red Stripe is a bit steep! But overall a nice relaxed place to eat with some really good food. Recommended.

Excellent food, loved trying some new dishes as well as the favourites. Service was brilliant. Lovely people. We’ll be back!

It’s not our first time at June plum, but every time we come here, the place never disappoints. The food is to die for the drinks are amazing. You have to try the painkiller. We don’t leave local but We will always come back here and we absolutely enjoyed it. We would definitely recommend.

Such a lovely vibe in this local Jamaican restaurant. Three of us shared a jerk and fried chicken platter with sides, a few Red Stripes, ginger beer and finished with plantain pie and a cookie. Everything delicious, really good value and friendly, warm service. We are absolutely coming back, thank you! Also, we didn’t order from it but the kids’ menu looks great 🇯🇲 🍺 🍽️

I have just ordered the following take away: Jerk Chicken Roti skin Curry Goat Brown Stew Chicken Plaintain Chip Pattie x2 The staff were very friendly but the food was mostly under cooked. We waited over 45 minutes to receive our food. The chicken, pattie an roti skins and ripe plaintain were as previously mentioned uncooked. The food that was cooked ok had very little flavour. The actual restaurant looked very nice but in my opinion the chef is NOT competent if they let food of this standard leave their kitchen.

We celebrated our grandson’s 18th here with family and friends. We had an amazing evening, the food was so delicious, the staff were all very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning!

We hadn’t been for a while so decided to give June Plum a try, staff were friendly from arrival and service was good throughout, food was a little disappointing my rice was stone cold as were my husbands chips, I should have said something but I didn’t want to take the risk with rice as it can make you poorly so I decided to just completely leave it as there was plenty on my plate to eat, my fried chicken was just ok some pieces were over cooked some pieces were tasty, my husband enjoyed his Jerk chicken, and the fritters we order on the side weee delicious, so but of a mixed bag. The Red Stripe was £7 a pint from draft which we thought was a bit steep but there were other beer options. Wouldn’t rush back sadly.

Brilliant authentic Jamaican cuisine. The fried chicken is amazing as is the curry goat, and jerk pork.

Been looking for a venue for my husbands 60th Birthday next year , he is Jamaican decent, found June Plum and we took him for a meal this year. On arrival my daughter have the staff member a cake to hide in the kitchen. We arrived at 17:15 , requested to give our food order at 17:25, drinks order taken and arrived still no food order, requested a second time, finally gave a food order. 18:15 still no food, requested how long the food was going to be, rather then just say maybe half an hour , we were given a story on the table before us still haven’t eaten, it may be a good time to mentioned there was only them and us in the restaurant at this point. Although I appreciate orders online may be happening. We were told maybe 15 mins 18:30 still no food , Front of house manager did apologise and again couldn’t give us a time for our food, although he did say the table before us would be a further 10-15 minutes, so 2 hours after arriving we still could eat? The staff attending a cricket match yesterday, not sure why that delayed them for today. We then asked for the bill for 3 cocktails these were actually really nice, the bill came , along with the surprise Birthday cake for my husband was just put on the table in front of him. DId I mention this was a surprise?? The front of house manager again apologise and to be fair offered us the drinks on the house, however we will not be attending again, and we certainly WILL NOT be booking this for a 60th birthday meal. We are all for supporting small businesses but not when you sit and wait like this.

My wife and I took our friends here after we had enjoyed a family meal here a few weeks ago. Absolutely brilliant. Everything was perfect. Not too many things on the men. Just traditional Jamaican food cooked to perfection with great customer service. Best Jamaican restaurant I’ve been to outside of Jamaica.

Not having visited for a few years I took my sister who is vegan . We had some great cocktails with sorrel and Wray and nephews. I had the special peppered prawns with homemade sour dough which was delicious. Sister had ital stew with roti and some dumplings. Freshly good great flavours . The staff were knowledgeable and made recommendations good music and vibes will be back for sure

This place has something for everyone - lots of meat, fish, veggie and vegan dishes, a massive selection of food and drinks plus friendly staff

Well what can we say. My wife who is vegan and wheat intolerant tired the not fish and chips good portion and it was so yummy. I had to help her finish it as there was so much of the dish. I had the curried goat with rice and peas the meat was so tender and again so much of it and so yummy. Staff amazing and having a good chin was icing on the cake. The place got rather busy, so just goes to show how good this restaurant is. We will come again, once we moved to Wellingborugh

In an area where it's really hard to find decent Caribbean food, June plum came through like a knight in shinning armor. Had an event that needed catering and took a chance on June plum to cater for my event and they DID NOT DISSAPOINT! Customer service was on point, efficient, fast and friendly! Value for money was incredible, for what we paid and what was delivered we could not believe how generous they are with their portions. It's so lovely to see in an economy where people are cutting corners, June Plum certainly does not! Quality of food was INCREDIBLE. Full of flavour, fresh and cooked to perfection. Very accommodating to make sure my event took place without a hitch. Safe to say this food was the highlight of the day. Not just excellent food, but good people as well! If you're looking for a top shelf experience and real soul food look no further. June Plum is the place to be! Highly recommend the pork belly, coleslaw and the sweetcorn fritters! Best little gem in Wellingborough.

We had a really wonderful meal. The food was delicious and there was a great deal of choice, for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike. We had a fabulous meal at June Plum. It was our first experience of Caribbean food and we enjoyed every minute of it. The staff were really welcoming and attentive. We both had a starter, which were absolutely delicious. I've been dreaming of the jerk scotch egg ever since and my partner keeps talking about his oxtail. We both loved our mains too. A fried chicken plate and a seafood plate. Great flavours and big portions. Unfortunately we had no room left for pudding. Guess we'll just have to go back and make sure we leave more room next time. I've already started eyeing up what I want off the menu next.

This is the second time I've been here. Everyone is so welcoming and the place is beautiful. The food is unreal. This visit was my birthday and they even gifted a slice of the best ginger cake ever! We had such a delicious meal here for dinner with friends! The waitress was really friendly and welcoming. We had lovely starters and then main meals which were a great size and very filling! The jerk chicken is amazing, as is the fried chicken plate and mac and cheese!The COVID-19 regulations are strictly adhered to, and we were sat at a window table which was appropriately spaced from other tables.I would definitely recommend lunch or dinner here!

We ordered takeaway from June Plum and despite living over 20 minutes away, the food arrived piping hot and tasty as you like! The Mac and cheese is by far the best I have ever tasted and the chicken burgers were exceptional. I can’t even begin to tell you how epic the onion rings are either. The food is amazing !!! I have eaten in the restaurant many times but decided to use the new app and order delivery. So impressed!!!!! The app was so easy to use, delivery was quick and the food as always was incredible. All the order was correct and pipping hot. I had the beef burger with mac and cheese and sweet fries . It did not disappoint. The delivery staff were super friendly too. Such a great local business. Can’t recommend enough . Will definitely be back

Wow!!! This place is fabulous. I’m so glad we decided to try it. As soon as you enter the venue, you feel the Caribbean vibe with the decor, background music and the welcoming and smiling faces of staff. That is just the start, till you order the rum punch and as you take the first sip, you can begin to feel the Caribbean juices flowing through you. The variety on the food is amazing. We went for some of the Jamaican dishes and omg we were blown away with the balanced fusion of flavours. Sooo moreish and fragrant. We had a few disagreements over who ate more. After the mains we moved to desserts and they were out of this world. Boozy rum pudding is a must! Pricing was very reasonable and service was fab. Highly recommend this place. We can’t wait to get back in to this restaurant again. Thanks to everyone who served us and the chef who made some mouth watering dishes!

I visited over the weekend with a friend. Straight away we greeted by the friendly staff. They have very social distancing measures in place and nothing was too much trouble. Our meals were amazing and definitely good value for money. I’d recommend the curry goat! They have a great selection of drinks and the cocktails are always worth a try. Just returned home after Sunday dinner at June Plum. What a fantastic meal! The restaurant tables were well spaced out and there was an option of ordering from the QR code by phone or using the traditional method (waitress wore a mask).Had the mussels to start followed by roast beef and hubby had gammon. Each mouthful was delicious, so much so did not have room for dessert. Beef cooked to perfection and so tender, gravy and roast potatoes were immense.Service was great, was made to feel very welcome and safe. Will definitely return. Thank you June Plum :)

I had already experienced really good food from June Plum in the form of tasty ‘Sunday Lunch’ during lockdown, but the other options on the online menu sounded less ‘home-made’ somehow, and so hadn’t tried other things until my visit to the restaurant with a friend last week. Wow! Why did I wait so long? The food was all amazing! The mussels were truly the best I have ever had and the jerk fish was delicious, and the sauce both light and tasty! Delicious!

As a family, I think we have tried pretty much the entire menu between us and it is always delicious! The staff are so polite and friendly - we have a number of food allergies and they will quite literally cater to every need. It is all done with a smile and so much goodwill that you can’t help but have a wonderful time here.We have had take-aways, including a birthday banquet for ten, as well as the pleasure of eating in.I find it disgusting that someone who ran off without paying their bill has then had the audacity to leave an appallingly rude (and badly-written) review on here. Everyone saw the post on social media asking them to pop back in and pay if they’d made a mistake and left by accident. Clearly no accident at all. Freeloaders.Ignore them and take a look at the hundreds of others who have said they love the place. Trying to ruin someone’s business just because you don’t want to pay for the food AND drink you’ve had is the lowest of the low.I do not work here and have made this review of my own volition as a happy, repeat customer who is genuinely upset to see such good people treated this way.Keep up the great work June Plum and don’t let them get you down ♥️

Came today with a group of friends and was honestly the best time I have ever had. Drinks were amazing (cocktails to die for), food was unreal! Everything was perfect and customer service was even better, two lovely ladies and the manager checked on us multiple times making sure we were okay and kept on top of it. I honestly can’t complain at all! Best service and best food I have ever had in my life. The manager was amazing, very good customer service, had a laugh with her and very caring for her customers.I must say food took a bit of time but I don’t blame them, the food is cooked fresh to order, the restaurant was so busy which I must say, they are doing an amazing job by keeping their deliveries, take away services and dining in... But, I could honestly wait as long as it gets for quality for like June Plum! They make sure they satisfy their customers as much and they are doing it very good I must say. We arrived and got greeted by a lovely young lady with dark hair. That as good as it got. After trying to order on the app as we was told to by the staff and with great difficulty after showing the waitress what it said on my phone, she agreed it had been rejected and took it by pen and paper. ( what a waste of time ) Waited 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order and then another 45 mins to get our starter out to us. To be fair the scotch egg starter was lovely. Then we waited another 45 mins for are 3 mains. One was hot and the other two where cold I sent them back , one came out within 5 minutes and the other one came out 10 minutes after that, and was half the portion of the original. By this time we had lost our appetite and hardly touched anything. This is where it gets interesting. After be asked if everything was ok ‘ I said no ‘ to which the waitress replied I’ll get the manager. The manager came over already with a very defensive attitude! After explaining our experience and how unhappy I was with everything , she started barking at me with an attitude and told me that they had never had a complaint before. That they’re was nothing wrong and they had cooked it twice for us so what was our problem , stunned by this response I said if nothing was wrong then why did you cook it twice and while I was saying this she kept barking over the top of me and wouldn’t take any constructive criticism . She tried to justify that it was busy , I was sat next to the door and I’d only seen 8 people turn up in the 2hours I was there. If they can not cope with 8 people turn up then they should contact Gordon Ramsey. I will say they were busy with takeaways and it seemed like takeaways where their main priorities and customers in the restaurant were second. I tried explaining this to her whilst the whole time she had her arms crossed and her eyes rolling at us and looking out of the window , I then asked can you not even look at me when I’m talking to you , to which she replied I was looking out for the delivery drivers and traffic wardens to which I replied don’t you think you should be concentrating on me and my complaint ( which proved my point ) at which point she stormed off barking something , To which I’d had enough and stood up and walked off. I want to give you half a star for the scotch egg but it won’t let me do it. I will not be returning

I visited June Plum on Saturday night for a birthday meal which was delightful. The staff were the mostly lovely people making sure we had everything we needed and the food was absolutely amazing! Everything on the menu is worth trying including all the sides and I will 100% be back for more.

Thank you June Plum for a great meal. Ordered a take away and after paying for it online the site advised it would be 80 minutes, we knew they cooked food fresh to order but didn’t realise it would be that long and sadly that was too long (on this occasion, normally very much worth the wait!) called the restaurant to explain and sadly cancel the order but they advised this is a guideline and they’d get the food to us within an hour, 40 minutes later it turned up! Fantastic customer service, thanks again for being so accommodating! Cooked to perfection the food was delicious! I wish I’d had taken photographs for the review! All of the main meal dishes are incredible but I want to do a shout-out to their sides... their salt fish fritters, corn on the cob and house slaw are AMAZING! We also accidentally ordered the popcorn... best accident ever!! Cinema popcorn will never cut it again!! We didn’t get it this time round, but if you ever order get their carrot cake (you won’t have had better anywhere else) sadly for some reason this isn’t on their online menu but call them to see if they have it! They also have great vegan options if that’s what you are looking for! Finally, yes it is more expensive than some other takeaways but you are not getting a standard takeaway you are getting restaurant quality food delivered to your door and it’s worth every single penny!

Getting ready to move house so decided on a takeaway to allow me to get on with sorting out stuff. However really fancied a Sunday roast. Had a bit of a google and found that June Plum delivered. Food looked decent so went for it. So glad I did, it was so tasty. Much better than the average carvery you can go to. Toby would have been so jealous. The flavours were amazing. Need to have that Cauliflower Cheese and the gravy recipes. If you get the chance give June Plum a try. You won't be disappointed

We had ordered 3 Sunday Lunches to collect via the website the previous day and specified a 6 o'clock pickup. The restaurant rang us in the afternoon to confirm. The arrangements are that you have to go to pick up and ring when you get there and the food is brought out. We arrived a minute or two early and rang as instructed. We were told that they would 'wave' at us when ready. We waited..., and waited...., and waited. After 20 minutes my wife went into the restaurant to be told that they were just boxing it up. 10 minutes later the food was brought out (30 minutes after agreed time).When we got home we found we had paid £33 for 3 very badly cooked meals. We couldn't cut the brick-like roast potatoes even after resorting to the use of steak knives. Those potatoes had obviously been ready at the original pick-up time and left in the oven until eventually given to us. The Yorkshire puddings were over cooked and virtually inedible. Fortunately the vegetables and meat were ok.This was a real disappointment as the food had been recommended by friends. Never again!If we'd been served meals like this in the actual restaurant we'd have sent them back and asked for a refund.

My boyfriend and I had such a unique and memorable experience with June Plum.We had hoped to dine in on the last day of eat out to help out but sadly the restaurant was fully booked. We still arrived, hopeful we could be squeeze in but sadly this just wasn’t possible so we decided to still take away food.One of the very nice delivery drivers saw us awkwardly waiting to order and told us to take a see, for us a drink and we got to order our food. As they were so busy, the food did take some time, but as we had come so far (a 30 minute drive) we just thought why not. We were also excited to try some of their many vegan options. We received the food and were about halfway home when we received a call from June plum to let us know that we only had half of our order, but not to worry as the delivery guys would drop off the rest. We got home, we’re just about to tuck into the food we had when we got a call from our friendly delivery driver who had successfully navigated the English countryside to find the house. Overall 10/10 for service and food! Considering we were eating food 45 minutes after it was made it was so tasty, and still warm. All staff members who we spoke to were so friendly, helpful and all round great people! I hope we can return again soon to eat in the restaurant and soak in that island feeling

1st time here. Fantastic service from the start. Very friendly staff giving a nice welcome. Food came out cooked perfectly. I had the seafood platter which was very tasty. My partner had the sugar chicken which she loved. Couldnt fault it and was been reasonably priced throughout. Top job guys.

Previously called The Jam Rock Cafe, where the menu was relatively comprehensive, but expensive. The food was over cooked/doused in their selection of spices and seasoning, so side orders of sweet potato, chips/fries or plantain helps to calm taste buds. Most food and cocktails were also prepared with alcohol, so not child/tee total friendly and had a poor selection of vegetarian options unless one only ordered sides. The main owner/chef seemed pleasant and friendly, but do specify if you have an underage child, food/drink allergy (no alcohol etc), vegetarian/vegan or even special dietry requirements. Turtle Bay and other afro caribbean restuarants offer better quality, full menus at a more affordable price.

Had a takeaway from here at the weekend and I cannot fault anything! The service and the food were exceptional. The fried chicken was absolutely delicious and the curry goat was full of so much flavour!

Obviously due to COVID we had to have a takeaway. This was after recommendation from our daughter. I rang mid afternoon for early evening delivery. WOW!!! amazing food. Tried the Jerk Pork Scotch Egg, Who said moo burger and the cinnamon & pecan bun. All excellent.Will definately order again and cant wait to visit the restaurant when lockdown over.

Jodi and her team are incredibly friendly and create the most fantastic Caribbean food. Absolutely delicious, I cannot recommend highly enough. They have really stepped up to helping those in need during the lock down and providing non contact collection takeaway and even delivery too. The mac n cheese is THE BEST!!! The homemade ginger beer is also a ‘must have’

Had my first takeaway from June Plum today as I had only ever eaten at the restaurant previously. I took their advice and ordered in the afternoon for an evening delivery and it was on time, hot and delicious!! I’m always satisfied here, the food is fresh and tasty. You can almost taste the passion in the food!! Thank you Jodi and your team, top notch as always. I can’t wait for the whole social distancing thing to be over so I can get back in for Taco Tuesday and Wing Wednesday. Stay safe, big love xx
