We have been going to Jobbers for several years now, for special events and family get togethers. The atmosphere is always great and the food quality is second to none - chefs, you are not seen but thank you, you sure know how to put a plate together for both the taste and presentation! (the roast pork and lemon tart on Sunday were truly amazing!!) Never been let down by anything we’ve had! Thank you Jobbers and thanks to all the staff too, always happy, friendly and helpful; it makes such a difference to eat somewhere you feel comfortable and welcome!

There was no table ready when we arrived but did not wait long. Gave a table positioned between two open doors which made it luke a wind tunnel and really cold 🥶 noticed the card only sign. Everyone to their own but it really really iritates me, father in law was really iratated by it as well. I dislike being told how I am to pay.. combination of the two saw us leave and go to a restaurant that welcomes you and is happy to take payment in any form...

Held the wake for my mothers funeral here. Used the canapés menu with a tab behind the bar. Everything was set up for us with complimentary tea and coffee when we arrived. Food was delicious and have to recommend buffalo cauliflower which is sensational. Service was great but not overbearing which was appreciated. Top marks for manager Sophie who although tied up with other things was available to make sure all went smoothly. We all had a great time on an otherwise sad day.

i love the jobbers rest …i will get the negative out of the way first …firstly i’ve never been here on a sunday & possibly wouldn’t again as the menu is a sunday menu no a la carte…it is a small menu and the minute we sat down was informed that the trout was sold out and was the skate ..so basically no fish ..we were disappointed as that’s what at least two of the party were wanted …so the choice after that was very small beef steak burger gammon & vegetarian (we are not ) ..also the menu does not highlight any dietary preferences one of our party was gluten free …asked the waiter and was told to scan the qr code ..great until i realised i couldn’t get a signal or on wifi where we was sitting neither could anyone …waited had to go find a member of staff who was helpful but it was a long time before we spotted any one …..after deciding on other options we ordered apparatifes however they were super slow to arrive to the point they arrive just before the starters …..overall on the start to our meal i was beginning to think i had a mistake booking father’s day here ….however the food we had was excellent as were the service from that point so all in all the jobbers did manage to redeem themselves ….just a word to the wise if you like lots of variety and a la carte the sunday menu won’t be for you …i would come here most definitely again just not on a sunday …..

We saw a few negative reviews about the service here during covid, but decided to give the Jobber's Rest a try. We weren't disappointed! Our waitress Lucy was funny, friendly, and took our orders with a smile (even though she was wearing a face shield and it was busy). The food was fantastic, I had the Cheese Souffle, the Roast Beef and the Chocolate Fondant all of which I scoffed with delightful enthusiasm! We spent the better part of 3 hours eating, drinking and relaxing without being rushed, fussed, or forgotten (as sometimes happens when you stay for a long time in a pub like this eating and drinking for hours). We would have stayed longer, but we couldn't eat or drink anything else - we will definatley be back!!!

My visit with family last night proved to be the worst dining experience I’ve had under Covid. Excellent restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Very attentive staff. Food was superb. My Boeuf bourguignon was melt in the mouth. Husband's steak was cooked exactly how he liked it (no mean feat!) I was given a spoon along with my knife and fork, and it only took one taste for realise why; the meat just fell apart, the mash was smooth, and the spoon really was necessary for all the amazing juices. We went on a Virgin experience voucher, but chose alternative meals and paid the extra. It was well worth the money, and we would definitely go back! Our waitress Karen; blond hair, black glasses (hardly middle aged, as described in one review on here!) was amazing: Helpful with our choices, checking to make sure everything was okay, even opening the windows when she could see I was a little bit warm. We arrived 45 mins early as misjudged the distance from home, but they sat us immediately. All staff were Covid perfect. Very happy. Would definitely drive 30 miles to get here again!

We went there today the 12th August and I did not find it a pleasant experience. The temperature was 31 degrees and we are in the middle of a heatwave. It was totally unbearable. My hair was soaking wet throughout the meal and I was so uncomfortable I could not settle. I really think a place of this nature owned by Raymond Blanc who is a millionaire that he could afford to air condition this place. It was one of the most unpleasant experiences ever. Even the staff looked uncomfortable and sweating hot. The food was ok for what we got but it was not exceptional. We were in a party of 4 and had to ask to move tables after an hour or so as the sun was beating in on our table. I would think twice about going here on an exceptionally hot day again.

We were looking forward to our first date night since before lockdown, have been to the Jobbers before and always found the food good. Unfortunately, yesterday we were seated and our waitress (middle aged lady, blonde hair with black glasses) completely ignored us for 15 minutes. The waitress was very attentive to the party of 6 next to us but avoiding eye contact with our table, we weren’t even asked for a drink in this time and decided to leave after 20 mins. It’s a shame because the other half of the restaurant the waitresses were all very smiley and happy, we couldn’t get a smile out of our waitress and ultimately decided not to spend our money on poor service.

Visited today on their first day open so was prepared to cut them some slack but basically a very over price average meal and very slow frustrating service.Ordered some nibble. Olives came first and had to wait for garlic bread and chase it up. Main meal took an hour to arrive! Husbands fish & King prawn curry had one literally one prawn in it and rice tasted boiled. Really small portion which in part we expect as it is meant to be gastro cuisine but even so this was a very small portion and not much sauce. My salmon was average and so over priced for what it was. Sons steak was probably best meal. When we were eating we noticed others sending back bill in order to get discount for government eat out to help out scheme. Then we had to do the same. Frustrating really as of course people want the discount! We won’t be back for a while and will try other places instead. Sad as pre Covid we love it here.

I wanted somewhere a bit special for my birthday meal so we booked a table with family here. It was disappointing. The food was very average, small portions and overpriced. The starters to share had 2 tiny pieces of bread and we had to order more. My main meal consisted of some fairly dry rice which was stuck around the top quarter of the dish, a very small slither of red mullet and 2 king prawns, which when peeled, proved to be more shell than anything else. None of us have large appetites and normally find restaurant portions too large! We chose not to have dessert but the bill still came to £236 for 6 of us! I wish we had gone next door to The Thatched House.

We found the food to be overpriced and not that great. We have been before but think the food is not as aspiring as it was when it first opened.

We have been there couple of times, but our Sunday visit will most certainly be the last. The staff although polite and cheerful have no idea of allergies/have had no training on the new menu. The only non meat option that had no nuts (mussels) had run out. This also happened on our previous visit. To my request for recommendations waitress offered fish cake that is no longer on the menu, it took 25 minutes of back and fourth to the kitchen and finally the order of smoked salmon and fishcake (that chef kindly agreed to make) was placed. When starter arrived and I started eating it, I decided to check if the green dressing on the plate contains nuts, and was assured that it does not, however a minute later waitress came back and took my plate away as it turned out it did indeed have nuts. At this point I gave up on trying to have a starter. Once we managed to have our mains and finished them it turned out all of the desserts contained nuts, so no dessert for me either. And then came the comedy of errors putting Faulty Towers to shame. The first bill was with all the things I did not have and was £30 higher than our last one. Manager (?) came to take the paiment and when I mentioned that perhaps more considerate menu options would be great, she expressed opinion that all non meat options are bland, so have to have nuts to add at least some flavour and that my comments can be passed to head office, but as they have 50 sites they won’t really care. So I guess being a guest of theirs does not really matter. This is not a one star review purely due to the previous visits and nice interior... but I guess if you have 50 sites what is one upset guest.

Came here for lunch with some friends. I’ve never been here before and it’s a lovely pub - clean with a smart decor. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately , we felt the food was a bit hit and miss, some items really tasty and some not very good at all. There was a particular issue with the paella which to be fair the waitress and manageress did practically all they could do to resolve so I do feel they have a really good customer service ethic.

Fillet steak at £25, each, very disappointing, very thin, very grisly, I had lamb tagine, no apricots, no dates, very fatty lamb. Such a shame, a lovely pub otherwise.

The Jobbers Rest provides a great selection of good food, nicely cooked and efficiently served. We were greeted by friendly staff, given great attentive, not intrusive to good conversation but enough to ensure that we could order as soon as we were ready. A lovely meal followed.

I absolutely love the food here. The pie and mash is one of the best around. However, I do also go and eat breakfast there a fair bit and it's definitely the best in the area and exceptionally good value for money. Freshly cooked food where they don't skimp on portions is amazing. The chef does lovely cakes (defo try the cherry bakewell!), although I would say he sometimes gets his recipes slightly wrong as they sink in the middle but still taste wonderful lol One thing that lets them down in the young girl that serves in there who is grumpy and looks like she's been sucking on lemons. Brighten up a bit! She's the only reason why I have taken off mark. I felt like putting it back cos Rodders makes up for a lot of things :)
