JK's Fish and Chips in South Oxfordshire

Sooo good. The owner knows and cares about the experience his customers have. Very friendly. Quality of the food - best in Henley. Good quality fresh fish, crispy well made batter. PLUS - I'm a bit of a health nut, so I was buying the fish and chips for someone else. So the owner's wife cooked me up the most awesome spicy rice (which was out of this world) and didn't charge me for it! Best fish and chips by far!!! P.S. you'll go a long way before you find anyone complaining about portion size - very generous

After Christmas had takeaway. Really good freshly prepared cod, chips and mushy peas, with sausages for my grandson. Friendly, and good portions.

Best fish and chips (and cod roe) in town. Owner is always up for a chat and knows his stuff. Great bloke and great Friday fodder!!

Fantastic, friendly, chatty gentleman served us very generous portions of perfectly cooked fish and chips that we enjoyed in Henley square (no overcooked crust like we had recently in Weymouth). A perfect, inexpensive evening treat after a very long walk along the Thames path!

Great fish and chips, large portions, lovely fish, and the staff are very pleasant and friendly and had a good chat with you about what you’ve been up to and where you’ve been and it makes a nice change

Lovely guy serving us, the order was completed quickly and fish was cooked afresh. He also threw in a free drink with our order. It all tasted great and I’ll definitely be returning.

In need of a meal for the whole family and looked around at all the eating places in Henley, which were a bit pricy for us. Overheard someone talking about JK's fish and chips, so gave it a go. Excellent service and very tasty . Would recommend.

Starving on Friday at 1200 and knew there was a chippie in Henley near me. it is in a back street, very small, looks like the bottom of a house, proper old chippy, people waiting that early! Battered sausage and chips, less than a fiver, lovely chatty guy serving, obviously knew a couple of the other customers, big fridge of drinks, all the same price, beer or pop! Best chips I have had for ages, tasty potato, nicely fried, not soggy, not hard, just right and a huge portion, I didn't need a sausage to go with it! couldn't manage all of them and I am a greedy b*stard. Can't recommend highly enough.

If you like fish and chips this is the best in Henley-on-Thames. Sure they do other things but fish without the skin is definitely the way to go.

Great local chippy. Nowhere to park outside but the Waitrose car park is literally 1 minute walk away if you don’t know the area like us cash only so has to walk to grab some cash which was again only minutes away. Food was good !

We had takeaway late last night after a very delayed arrival into Henley. Cooked fresh in front of us and the guy behind the counter was very chatty and friendly. Highly recommend!

Excellent service from a superior establishment. We ordered a meal for 5 which they very kindly delivered to us even though they don’t offer a delivery service. The food was delicious and piping hot. They went above and beyond their usual service and I can’t recommend F&K more. 5*****

First visit to have a family meal takeaway. Fresh, delicious fish and the chips were huge portions, cooked well and good value. Great staff, friendly and generous offering free drinks for the child and myself.

Excellent service for freshly cooked to order Haddock and chips with curry sauce enjoyed in the shop as the weather was lousy. Thanks for the hospitality and we will be back next time we return from the USA

I’m a regular visitor here fish and chips great fresh cooked to order.Raj works behind counter has excellent customer service skills and takes pride in what he does always smiling and courteousBest chip shop in town and also sells cans of beer which is great if u want one with dinner.Always recommend here to friends as food is always cooked great and is enjoyable

We were heading home from a visit to my sister's in Henley & decided to see if the recommended F&C shop was as good as people recommended.It was delicious, no one pointed how brilliant the guy behind the counter was too.He was amazing with my 3 children.We had the freshest tastiest fish & Chips.Highly recommend a visit here. I look forward to visiting my sister & popping in for fish & chips too. Highly recommended, best fish & chip take away for miles.

we discovered this fish & chip shop by looking on google maps when visiting Henley on our holiday. it seemed an out of the way place & i was rather worried as there were no customers queuing. However the staff were very friendly & cooked everything freshly. Surprisingly the food was excellent!!!

A great little chip shop stick right in the middle of a street of terrace houses. The staff in the shop were very friendly and the Fisk and chips were tasty and freshly cooked.

Really good fish and chips. Can recommend the spicy cod bites - they were yummy! Everything cooked fresh and a really friendly atmosphere whilst waiting for my order. Well done for a super service.

Very tasty food for all the family served by super friendly Raj. No eat-in facilities but the river is a five-minute walk.

Lovely family holiday in Henley-on-Thames and we were feeling a bit peckish. We were camping at SwissFarm and the nearest and best chippy is JKs. We were made most welcome and had a great meal for 5 and no leftovers. Recommended.

Popped in for some supper and JK was brilliant. Cooked everything fresh for us, I had the fish and it was perfect, my wife had battered sausage and really enjoyed it. He was really friendly and chatty.

Stopped here to try the fish and chips because I haven’t had fish and chips in Henley since the old owners from smarts left town. We tried smarts once and it was terrible so never been back.

Our go to when a night is looking to be manic, the portions are massive definitely get your money's worth, quality food, always yummy :)

On three recent visits haddock was freshly cooked, with thin crispy batter on request, and generous portions of chips. Excellent service and food

We called in for a single portion of fish and chips which was cooked while we waited and chatted with the delightful owner. He asked if we wanted to split the chips and ended up serving half the fish and half the chips in separate containers which was a really thoughtful touch. I still have the fish back to my other half once we left the shop!! Would definitely recommend making a detour along the King's Road to find this.

Visiting here from Chicago area and staying up the road. I was in alone and had never ordered fish and chips on my own. They could not have been nicer. They guided me on menu choices and let me try the malt vinegar on the chips before they doused them. The were friendly and nice and lovely to talk to. Definitely a "go back" establishment for me.

Really good fish and chips. Freshly cooked and piping hot. All you could ask for. I large chips servedv2 with some to spare.

Tried fish and chips here, first time for a long time. There was no no else here so service was quick. Fish tasted cotton wool like and chips were not very warm.

I was in need of a large order for about 15 different families. Called in advance with the order and collected at the specified time. Food was all packed upon arrival, meaning it stayed as fresh as possible. We enjoyed our meals and would recommend this chippy. Well done guys.

We were staying at Swiss Farm campsite about 10mins away. Really fancied some fish and chips to take back to our tent and they did not disappoint. Really nice tender fish and stayed hot until we got back. The fish was cooked while we waited so very fresh. We definately would go there again.

Been coming here since it reopened and food has been getting better every time, chips need a bit of work to be perfect but fish makes up for it. A good replacement for the Friday St disaster choppy.

Smarts on the Reading Road is the KING of fish & chips in Henley and can't be beaten but this newly opened fish & chip shop on the King's Road is good and saves the legs of everyone who lives on this side of town!! Horrible smell of cooking oil for local residents though but thankfully doesn't stay open late to attract after pub closing trade...phew!!¬
