Ordered 30 minutes before closing”large” chips had a couple of hand fulls. Battered sausage was lovely, fish cake also lovely, as for the saveloy was ice cold and dry as a bone. Mushy peas bland. Curry sauce the best I’ve had in a while👍🏼

I've had take away fish and chips from here a few times now, always fresh, perfectly cooked fish with a light, crisp batter. Good size portions too. Staff are friendly and efficient and the shop is spotlessly clean and bright. The restaurant looks equally inviting. Definitely worth trying if you've not already done so. I must mention since the new owner taken over this shop. The food and customer service is top ten.

What can I say, it seems to have changed hands and as a result plummeted in terms of quality food. I ordered cod and chips, only to get home and find the fish to be cold (not even warm) With the chips being far from fresh. It’s too much hassle returning them, so ended up £11.50 out of pocket, and cooking. Been going there for years, but Won’t return!!

Reheated and very dry discoloured fish cake. Pukka pies microwaved so looked dry and deflated when served.service slow and asked 3 times if wanted salt & vinegar did not listen to reply of salt only. This is the second time I have used this shop as believe in giving people a chance but good has been below standard both times. Really disappointed

Was very disappointed with our meals. Chips were/seemed undercooked. Savaloy was tasteless. Will highly doubt I will return.

Very friendly local chippy. You can sit in or take-away. The entrance is easy to get a wheelchair in and some wheelchair users will be able to get round the toilets. Probably not the means. I've showed the ladies. There are lots of food options and the man spices up his chicken skin before frying it. The chips were nice and crisp and the burger kids meals is adequate with a drink. Paid aboht £15 for two kids meals and half a chicken for myself. Friendly and nice service. I hope he goes on to do some dishes from Afghanistan at some point too. Clean shop. Loos not so much. But it's definitely a place to go if you need cheap food and have low mobility.

Possibly the worst fish and chips I've had for a long time, the chips were undercooked/hard, and the fish was overcooked, with soggy batter, £13.50 and it all went in the dogs! We used to buy from there with the previous owners, it was lovely then, but we won't be going there again.

This place was not good for me maybe it was the communication

was loving it till i found a hair in the fish then when i told them about it not being rude or anything before i finished the sentance the woman quickly said my hairs blonde... infact it wasnt it was mixed but £14.70 n they didnt even offer my money back. absolute disgusting behaviour i hope you shut down.

We got the big fish and chips. The chips were ok, but the fish was dry with a soggy batter. Given that we found a hair in the batter, I don’t think we’ll be going back again.

Terrible over cooked chips. Fish was decent size in fairness but at £11 odd with a curry sauce for very underwhelming food has left me feeling robbed.

Ordered large cod which was totally over battered making the fish appear large, but when we got home we realised there was very little fish inside. Chips very stoggy. Not worth the money.

I paid £6.80 for pie chips and gravy and it was disgusting. The chips were hard and the pie was empty, tasted stale I think it had been there for weeks. I pay £3.70 for the same meal from the chippy I use back home and it tastes amazing. This was the worst chippy experience in my life I feel robbed.

I have made a few round trips to here from swindon!. absolutely fab.very big cod with lovely chips and mushy peas.not the cheapest fish and chips but for the portion size is great value.

Went here for a dinner snack ..chips were cold .the battered sausage was like rubber ,, impressive how they can deform a battered sausage that much that it tastes 4 weeks old, if you fed this food to a tramp , they are likely to throw it at you and kick off ...its rank ,, what food these good reviews ate certainly wasnt my experience ,, a lazy cook cooking yesterdays stock

My partner bought a large cod and chips here but then left most of it as it was swimming in grease. The batter on the cod was more like a stodgy pastry.

Been here twice now as it's close to the cinema so it's handy for having something to eat before watching a movie..Love this place purely because the people who run it are always friendly and helpful ..Food is really good and good size portions tooA must visit and you can sit in and eat too... perfect :-))

Great place for fish and chips, plus it has a few tables in the back for sitting in. Meals are always freshly cooked and serviced at your table. Staff are always very friendly and polite and meals are good sized portions. I will definitely visit again.

Very nice fish and chips , very big portion! We also had a kebab, sausage and chips and a chicken curry. The curry was not amazing but for a chip shop not too bad. The staff were so friendly also! There is a sitting area with a few tables which is a bonus for a chippy. Not too expensive either. I would recommend this chippy!

as i went to this chipy to get my food it was alful asi did not get what get what i ask for so to me thay r here to con u lot out there as if i had this done to me thay can do it to u. as i will never ever be going back to this coning shop no more as i will just stay right away from here as thay can just get on there bikes and pedal off as fast as thay can go.

Fish and chips from The Chippy always takes me back to my childhood. You get proper fresh flavourful chips and the fish is crispy and not greasy. In Didcot, this is the place to go.

We're new to the area so didn't know what to expect here. On arrival, it's clean and quite spacious, you can sit in and eat. The guy serving didn't smile once but we thought maybe the area isn't as friendly as we're used to.Anyway we got our takeaway, reasonably priced, and headed to our new home. Unfortunately we couldn't finish our food as the batter was still raw. As it was a takeaway, neither of us could be bothered to drive back to complain.Guess we'll just have to keep trying different places.

Best chip shop in Didcot, decent portions and good food. Plus they don't fry chips too far in advance so they are always fresh.
