Superb fast service. We did not eat in the restaurant. Ordered at 7.23pm on a bank holiday Monday and received the food at 7.51pm. The food was delivered so quickly, that the steam was still rising from the rice, as we ate at the table. The food was delicious. The tempura vegetable starters and fish cakes had a delicious sweet chilli sauce. We had a selection of mains, including Pad Thai and green curry. All great. Portions very large. Highly recommended.

Visited while on a weekend trip to Ayr. Fancied Thai food so thought we'd give it a bash. My fiancée and I were both really impressed with the food. The service was great too - really friendly; apologised for the delay even though it had only been about 15 minutes; and offered us a complimentary drink while we were waiting. Can't fault the place at all, and will certainly return next time I'm in the area.

We are always up for trying somewhere new and we have walked past this many time on the outskirts of Ayr town centre. Knowing it to be accessible through Rupee Room - an Indian restaurant we used to enjoy years ago before more popular and better have arisen - I’m afraid all I can rate their attempt at Thai takeaway is ‘1 star’. We are proud to have @Home nearby and have always enjoyed it - it’s number 1 in Ayr for good reason! - so I did think it strange when Jinja was suggested. Only two reviews on TripAdvisor from two months ago (one good and one bad from May 2021), no reviews on Google… oh dear, maybe we should have checked this before ordering. We went with it and the menu on their website looks and reads well but the food was a disappointment. The honey pork starter was well cooked and spicy but you just know you’ll be drinking for the rest of the night. A more than reasonable amount of food was left in each of the other takeaway dishes; two full sticky rice of three, a vegetable platter, my chicken satay starter and my pork Penang, an Asian Chilli chicken, a red Thai curry (an “urg” was let out on first taste!) and a veg and tofu Pad Thai (bland). It makes sense that someone else try to do Thai food in Ayr given the popularity of @Home, but I can’t see Jinja lasting long.

The coconut tofu starter was sticky and delicious, and delivery was speedy. Some nice veggie options too

Not what I would expect from a Thai restaurant (definitely not authentic) overpriced and underwhelming no real Thai flavour. Had the mixed stater for 2 seriously over priced for what you got. For main had the Thai green (judge every Thai restaurant on this dish) it was at best a poor example of something that you could get from Aldi or Lidl. Very stodgy to much cream (creamed coconut) no real flavour. I had to add some fish sauce and a squeeze of lime just to lift it. If you want a Thai green or any other Thai in Ayr do yourself a favour and go to @home end of story, tasty and genuine made by Thai people.

Take my advice AVOID AVOID we went for my birthday last night a main each with sides rice and chips,& shredded chicken. it was the most disgusting food ever from here. I was feeling sick afterwards and my partner wouldnt eat his. to start off the shredded chicken didn't have any detectable chicken in it, it was only thin strips of batter, back het, terribly hard unable to chew. and sauce was but a salty gloop! king prawn curry was over cooked so all prawns were hard chewy just the way prawns not meant to be cooked. The chips were hard, inedible and back het so much so the crows didn't want them. Duck green peppers black bean sauce was disgusting. never seen duck meat that thick, I very much doubt it was duck. it was huge chunks hard meat with slimy croc skin utterly disgusting. it went down toilet, the cat wouldn't even eat it. I did attempt to complain to Ben about it but the phone service is rude argumentative and abusive. I got a load of abuse and hung up on. 88 is a dive now. They definitely should be shut down. But they don't care because they're making so much money selling to all the drunks with low standards in what they consume they dont care what is in the food they’re eating. Never ever go here on a Friday Saturday night because you’ll probably get dog and be unwell. GO ELSEWHERE. Unless you enjoy indigestible yuck- I felt sick after eating what little I had. it's put me off going back and it was once my regular Chinese takeout years ago. We hadnt been for a long while but thought treat for birthday. HIGE MISTAKE. especially since all the abuse off the girl over phone when tried to complain. -there are many better places to take away food in Ayr. Punjab in main street. have crispy light fluffy chips great tandoori tender meat cooked fresh. I took photos because the public should be informed standards in 88 have gone to the dogs. Def go elsewhere the girls on the phone leave a lot to be desired and the food isn’t what I’d call food. Do yourself a favour AVOID AVOID AVOID it is abysmal abusive and disgusting. GO Anywhere in Ayr or Prestwick BUT HERE!!!
