I came here as recommended. Not once in the 1.5 hours I spent here was the buffet filled with the popular dishes. I thought that the deserts would be better but only scraps were left. Didn't think it was particularly clean either. On the up side beer was OK. And the Mrs enjoyed the overpriced prosecco. I would avoid at all costs if you actually value your stomach

Food was cold. Chicken pakora and roast beef too tough to eat. Indian Curries were good. Chinese Fried rice not great. Chicken noodle soup was nothing short of AWFUL! Desserts were nice. Toilets were disgusting. Waiter was great.

Book a party of 12 for 6pm Arrived early and greeted with a smile and a helpful Member of staff to sit us down and take some photos. Went through what we had to do and asked if anything we need . Staff attentive food amazing quality and taste and reasonable prices on my nice visit I will be here . Beautiful decorated also stunning very clean. Can’t say enough good word an about it .

Staff were incredibly welcoming. We are staying at Craig Tara and it only took 10 minutes to get there. Parked in car park next to it. Service and food were amazing from start to finish. Vast choice of food made it easy to cater for the whole family.

I've been here for the past 10 or so years now and it never disappoints, however, my trip here yesterday was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were fantastic, attentive and friendly, I can honestly say that they love working there and they seemed to be very passionate about the food and chefs.

Lovely friendly staff. The food is gorgeous. We came for a birthday meal and the birthday girl was surprised with a piece of cake with a candle, plus they played happy birthday. Our used plates were taken away swiftly. The selection of foods range from British through Italian and Asian palates, with a delicious selection of deserts. We will definitely be back 😊

We visited for a Birthday Dinner. We chose her so that everyone would find something they enjoyed. We were not disappointed! The restaurant was clean and the staff were all friendly and helpful. The range of food was from British to Italian and Asian, all absolutely delicious. Our used plates were swiftly removed, empty food dishes were refilled quickly and there were always plenty of fresh warm plates and clean cutlery. As it was a birthday meal they surprised birthday girl with a piece of cake with a candle and Happy Birthday playing! (I did give advance notice!!) Seriously though, give them a visit, you will enjoy the food and atmosphere. We will be back soon 😊

Lovely world buffet with lots of cooked to order food options, including steak, pastas, noodles and fajitas. There's a wide variety of food for all tastes including squid, ribs, curries, delicious mozzarella sticks and sweet naan. The staff are attentive and the desert station was enjoyed by all.

First time here.lovely restaurant bright and spacious.staff great helpful .I am gluten free and they gave me a folder with the menu of everything that they had and what was gluten free .that was brilliant and gave me the confidence to choose what I wanted to eat great selection to choose from all looked fresh .i was with my husband.son.and daughter in law.and two granddaughter s and they all loved it .definitely be back .and definitely recommend .manager I take it was lovely and friendly.

Food was nice enough a bit stale, dessert was alright. Although we were made pay before we ate, yet nobody else was, waiter told us it was because he never trusted us which was rude in my opinion. Food was not stocked up so it was not the warmest. Wouldn’t race back

Not the best place to dine. Went for a Saturday dinner buffet and was expecting much better. Chicken was hard, chinese wasn't cooked well. In some chinese dishes you could taste ketchup. The indian section was by far the best. Sauces kept curdling as staff was not giving them a stir every now and then. The restaurant was inundated with smoke from the grill and by the end our clothes were stinking of food. By the time we were at the desert station, one of the waiters grabbed some sweeties with bare hands and shoved them in his pocket! Won't return again.

Just been here today for the first time everything was excellent I had to try everything and it didn't disappoint I must say the Thai prawn crackers are delicious we left with full happy tummy's and we will definitely be back loved everything about it

The restaurant is spacious and modern and well laid out. The service was good, and the gentleman greeting us, serving our table was friendly and polite. The food was unfortunately very bad. A very poor choice of salad, starters and there was no prawns which is usually a common starter in both Chinese and Indian restaurants. There was also no other nice meats in the salad bar. The chicken tikka was dry and luke warm. The tray said chicken and lamb doner meat. However, there was no chicken doner meat. A tray stated crab claws, however it actually contained chicken wings in batter. These were burnt and dry. The fresh cooking station was not cooking anything as there was no meat, fish or anything, just salad on show. When we enquired, they said they could cook chicken or beef in stir fry's. The carvery area had piri piri chicken drumsticks and no other meat. There was no carvery meat. All the curries looked and tasted horrible. The muscles in the shells tasted good. The pizzas also tasted funny. The chocolate fountain was off. By this point, we had enough and just wanted to leave. The ice cream was good but not much else. I lovely restaurant with friendly staff let down by terrible food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone unfortunately. We did complain in the restaurant and the staff member apologised and offered us a discount. I hope this restaurant can improve the food as it could be a good place if major changes can be carried out.

We go here every holiday and would definitely recommend. The owner is lovely, the staff are hard working and kind. There is a large variety of food and everything tastes delicious 😋 An amazing atmosphere. There is a large variety of vegetarian options and kiddy friendly foods for picky eaters.

Food was all good, liked the dancing wok area and chargril area.

This place went above and beyond from the minute we walked through the door .The food was lush 😋 to the point we went back the next day. Greedy, I know, but well worth the extra pounds I would certainly recommend not on ly for the food but the warm welcome you get from the staff when next in Ayr I would certainly go back to the place 😀 well done all staff for making none locals feel at home 🏡 Xx

Chinese munchie box. Cold regular chips instead of salt and pepper chips, cold spring rolls, cold sloppy chilli chicken with no peppers or onions in it, floppy onion rings, tasteless noodles. Only thing I ate out the whole box was the wings and 1 rib

I very much enjoyed myself at Basrai's, customer service was simply divine! Atmosphere was calm, and welcoming the staff and the manager really make you feel at home. The food was simply to die for, I enjoyed every dish, The Wide Multi cultural dishes are Amazing. The sushi was by far my favourite. We got a pitcher of the "Kids Sundowner" the mixture was simply amazing. I would definitely reccomend Mr Basrai's, will be back again ♥️

I absolutely love this place. The food quality was good and the staff are excellent, I also love the unlimited soft drinks (I'm a vimto lover and it's on draught) and who doesn't love a chocolate fountain?

We received a warm welcome and were made to feel very at home, a large selection of food which even I ate ( very beige eater!) Husband was in his element and highly recommend the lamb in honey and ginger and chicken tikka.

My husband and I had the buffet lunch today, we had butter chicken delicious, chicken madras great, pilau rice,chips,popadoms, onion bhaji, samosas, chicken pakora, pizza, mac n cheese, etc lots of different flavours and alot more to choose from, lots of lovely desserts too and unlimited fizzy drinks. The service was great too, very helpful, cleared away the dirty plates efficiently. We would highly recommend going and we will definitely be back.

Went with my family and sisters family had the best time, we have never had such a great experience when kids are involved in a busy restaurant. Staff we so welcoming and friendly carrying on with the kids throught the evening. A big variety of choices and staff were more than happy to cook the little things you asked for. Definitely would return.

Not been here for a couple of years and it's definately gotten better. Absolutely amazing choices but the freshness and flavours are beyond what you would expect at a buffet style restaurant. We really loved it, everyone was very friendly and we will definately come back when we are in Ayr from now on.

Came here for dinner and was so disappointed.. staff where nice and friendly but food was below par chicken was dry the other food had little to no taste and most of it was cold .. the desserts where okay

Such a lovely place and is so nicely decorated, staff are very attentive with taking your plates away and are so friendly, food is outstanding and always made fresh, also does fresh cooking for what ever you would like. Got a strawberry daiquiri and it was lovely 🙂

We often eat at Mr Basrai’s due to the choice of foods. There is something for everyone and you can in fact mix cuisines, having sushi to start and then a full roast dinner! The live cooking stations are excellent with a noodle bar, fresh pizza and a sizzle grill amongst others. You can buy a refillable drink and then help yourself to a whole host of ready made courses. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful but without bothering you, and you can even get a discount with your cinema ticket! We now pop to see our favourite film at the Astoria and then go for a meal afterwards getting 10% off if you show your ticket stubs! The perfect night out in Ayr.

Love a MR basrai have visited all 3 establishments however Ayr is our favourite. Saddens to find out that it’s now under new management was disappointed in the desserts quite bland the ice cream machine was good though. The food was ok and was nice enough however some things are a bit bland. Other than that it was ok

Had a lovely experience. Food was amazing, so much variety, my children loved being able to try new foods too. The service was fabulous, can't fault the experience at all. Would definitely recommend.

I went for the first time it’s really awesome food really warm and hot and very friendly staff and reasonable price. The only thing is they don’t have so many options in ice cream but had amazing time in there.

Salt n pepper chips yeh right 👎, maccy d with black pepper.. chicken curry, floating in watery curry juice, one large red pepper and one green, chicken fingers ok I suppose, won't be returning any soon, so in short 16£ wasted.

I have no idea why it claims to have foods from all around the world when they have a tiny salad section, Chinese, Indian, and a British roast dinner without any meat. As the menu says 'Some like it hot but others don't so we cater to all tastes' that is the biggest load of rubbish l've ever heard in my life. Everything is either extremely spicy or seasoned to high heaven with other spices. They have a miniscule kids section, containing pork sausages, chips, and chicken nuggets. Don't bother coming here if you expect to Actually eat foods from around the world. I'm sure it's great for SOME people, however it's claiming to be something it's not, there's barely anything to choose from, and if you don't like chicken you're screwed as that was 60% of the dishes. Food isn't good quality, and all watered down. The staff also stare at you while you're eating, so if you're not a fan of being stared at while you eat well tough. One of the people I went with said the chicken was dry. And if you're still thinking I might just be too critical, we went here for lunch, we went up to the desert area and the chocolate fountain wasn't on, that's fine! Figured as much! However now I could be wrong because they could 100% clean it later on before they turn it on. They put cling film on the bottom half of it (not even covering it completely) while it has NOT been cleaned, doesn't look like it's been cleaned in a while in my opinion, and I assume they turn it on in the evening without cleaning it, so I wouldn't risk using it.

Had a birthday dinner for my daughter’s 18th tonight. Everyone had a good comment about the food and service was really good very nice and pleasant and got everyone to join in and happy enough to take pictures. Good atmosphere, good food and good service. Will defo be back

We went one evening as a family of four. Food was delicious and the friendliness of the staff was one of the best experiences I’ve had. Nothing was too much trouble and they made the children feel really welcome. Both children said they wished they lived closer. Relaxed atmosphere, excellent food and service. We would definitely recommend!

We took my grandaughter out for dinner here on the last night of our holiday. A high quality buffet at a reasonable price especially as they give NHS discounts. Although less choice than some of the larger world buffets, it means that everything was hot and really tasty. The sushi was delicious, the salad bar really fresh and the chocolate fountain a hit. Bejng vegetarian I had enough choices to fill me up. The staff were really helpful and friendly and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening

First time visit, family of 7. Lovely atmosphere right from the door, friendly and attentive staff, nice long table to fit us all together. Drinks order taken very quickly and then the kids were straight off to the buffet. All foods are well labelled and at a nice low level so even the younger ones can manage themselves. The kids all seemed to like the pizza, chicken, chips, and roast options. I can wholeheartedly recommend the chilli chicken, chinese curry and beef in black bean sauce Considering everyone had at least 3 plates of mains, 3 bowls of puddings as well as several drinks refills the price is considerably cheaper than if we did the same at any other normal restaurant.
