My husband & I were here today for a late lunch & we both had the loveliest, freshest cooked food with a huge variety. We both started off with some pakora & lots of different salads. I chose noodles & picked my own veg to be cooked in front of me while my husband chose the fajitas. He also had some Indian, Chinese & Italian foods. All of which were tasty & fresh. We finished off with creme brulee & my whippy ice cream! Staff were friendly & attentive & the place itself was immaculately clean. We will definitely be back. Can't leave without mentioning the great value for money, £13.99 each then £3.90 each for refill as you like juices! Amazing 😊

We attended a 40th birthday last night and were part of a large group. We had our own venue in the restaurant. The staff are amazing. So helpful, attentive and friendly. The food was brilliant. There was an amazing variety on offer, and I recommend the fresh cooked lamb chops and curries.... WOW! At the end of the evening we were amazed at the value for money. Thank you for a great relaxed atmosphere, and compliments to all the staff.

It's fantastic food, I was wondered with offering fresh selected food live cooking.. Squids, octopus🐙, sea foods. A lots varieties in budget price. They offered Indian local tastes as long live cookings

The best mango lassi I've ever had. We were sent away with a container of gulab jamun which was amazing! My favourite was all the Indian food, especially the lentil dal. 10/10 and will be back

Maybe because of the town being a seaside town less people are around in Feb/Mar. Was very quiet, food was very towards Indian style. So a lot of curries and even certain items had more of an Indian twist. But all still very tasty for a reasonable price. Hats off to the grilling chef. The medium-rare steak was amazing and perfectly cooked!

One of the best world buffet restaurants we have been. The staff are amazing, so helpful and the food was so fresh and tasty. They had wide variety of most of the cuisine. We enjoyed all the starters and to pick the Lamb rogan josh and butter naan was excellent.

This is a buffet service restaurant, meaning sometimes the food containers are empty waiting to be refilled. Most things are nice but my main complaint is everything seems to be kind of tepid and just not hot enough. Buffet restaurants used to be good value but I guess everything catches up.

Visited on a Thursday lunchtime. All good was very good and the staff super nice. Would definitely visit again.

Been couple of times. Manager has always welcomed us in and staff come by regularly to check for drinks and that everything is up to scratch. Will be going back.

Should have known better first step into restaurant, but we decided to stay food was disgusting, waste of money. Food was on display for far to long, chicken was like a pea green soup. Highly disappointing, not like the Mr Basrais in Glasgow, our clothes were absolutely stinking of food fumes. Never again

Been to several of these "all you can eat" buffets and I can honestly say this was one of the best. Some reviews say the food isn't quite good enough and or cold, we didn't find that. We did go at the start of the sitting so it was all fresh. A few things aren't available at lunch, but to be expected as it's a lot cheaper and great value for money.

Looked nothing like what I ordered on the app. Salt and pepper chips weren’t seasoned at all. Half the food was mush. If I wanted dog food I would have went to pets at home. I would love a refund

Staff are all very courteous and attentive. I enjoy the buffet lunch so much that I come 2 times in 2 weeks! I'm heavily pregnant. The staff let me choose between a booth or a table that I find most comfortable. There are stir fry, taco & pasta stations that freshly made per your order. It takes normally 5-10mins to prepare and they'll bring the food to the table, so you don't have to stand there waiting. Lunch buffet has lesser food items than dinner buffet, but there's more than plenty to fill your stomach with yummy food. I recommend sushis, lamb curry, spicy chicken wings, calamari rings, crab claws, naan breads, garlic pizza, fry noodles with vegs at the wok station, risotto & carbonara. I enjoy the crème brulee, blueberry cheesecake & walnut brownie for dessert.

Excellent value for money, fantastic service, the staff couldn't be more helpful. Food is quite good especially the freshly cooked stuff and it's cooked the way you want it. Wide variety of dishes for all tastes so everybody is happy. Overall a great experience.

We were in as a party of 10 for mine and my sons birthday and everything was top class. From the second we walked in we were treated so well. The staff were amazing. My grandson is 8 months old and got the same treatment. Was a great birthday treat. We will be back!!

Post Xmas family meal with 2 toddlers and 6 Adults. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The place was very clean. The choice of food was excellent. In our group we had 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, 2 people needing Halal and 2 meat eaters All of us had plenty of choice. I'm told the meat was excellent. I had plenty of options as a vegan. The range of food was excellent, all the serving dishes are small which is good as the replenish constantly which means the food is fresh and hot in the serving dishes. They have a large range of cooked to order options. Which when ordered were brought to our table when ready. At £17.99 per person it's very good value BUT we had not realised that they have a special offer on for January of 2 for 1 Monday to friday. So our table or 6 Adults and 2 toddlers only paid for 3 adults ( under 3s are free) plus all the drinks. Astonishing value.

I recently dined at Mr. Basrai's World Cuisine in Ayr, and it was a delightful experience! The variety of dishes offered is truly impressive, with a diverse selection of cuisines from around the world. The food was fresh and flavorful, catering to a range of tastes and preferences. I found the Indian food section to be slightly underwhelming. The selection was decent, but some of the dishes lacked the bold and authentic flavors typically associated with Indian cuisine. For example, the curries were milder than expected, and the naan bread was a bit too chewy for my liking. That said, the food was still fresh, and the presentation was appealing. If the Indian offerings could be a bit more vibrant and true to traditional flavors, it would greatly enhance the experience. It's a good place overall, but there’s room for improvement in this particular area. They are running buy 1 get 1 free for the month of January 2025.

This is a beautiful restaurant, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is outstanding. The dishes are always well presented and topped up regularly. Food can be made to order right in front of you! From Tacos to Teppanyaki their live food stations are well varied. We have been on multiple occasions and nothing is ever too much! Have a member of the group with a birthday? Let them know, a mini cake with candle and happy birthday calligraphed on the plate, alongside music and singing. The children's faces always light up when they sing with you. I'd recommend you try both lunch and evening menus for the full Basrai's experience. Refillable drinks, cocktails, tea, coffee etc. Great for a treat for the children with the options of chicken nuggets, chips, pasta, ice-cream and a chocolate fountain. What's not to love? We highly recommend Mr.Basrai's 😊

Been here many times over the years, it's changed hands a few times but we always enjoy the food. Staff are friendly and polite too. Today's visit was to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday and she was surprised with a cake and candle and a cocktail. We can't thank them enough! Edit to add. We visited again today (23/12/24) and again, amazing food. Our server was lovely and apologized for taking a little while to clear plates but she needn't have worried, we knew she was busy and it was absolutely fine!

I recently enjoyed a fantastic multi-cuisine buffet with crispy dosas, fresh salads, pizzas, and a chocolate brownie. Special thanks to Dhwani for her warm and attentive service, which made the experience even better. Highly recommend!

Would give a zero if I could !! Went as a group of 12 on a Saturday at 5pm the food was not edible no one could eat anything the food was stale obviously still from lunch, cold soggy Yorkshire puddings stale chips that had been sitting a while. Half of the dishes were empty so very limited choice. Hardly anny choice for kids either. Our group ended up walking out and went else where to eat as no one could eat anything proper. Would not recommend !!!

Absolutely disgusting place hardly any food place felt damp and disgusting and the food that was out definitely wasn’t edible! We had to walk out and go somewhere else for food that’s how bad the place was this place definitely isn’t what it used to be the male staff that came over to our table was helpful and even agreed that the food was disguising There was 12 of us in for food and out of the 12 people only 2 were able to eat and that was the kids chicken nuggets We usually go to the buffet at Kilmarnock and food is always filled to the brim and fresh this place we will definitely be avoiding! If you want fantastic fresh Indian food AYR INDIA is the best place to go Avoid this place at all cost

Nice decor, friendly attentive staff. Food is edible but lacking any real flavor and some of the dishes tasted weird. Im no longer hungry so I suppose it did its job but would struggle to come back here. The competition buffet restaurants only a few miles away are a lot better for the same kind of money.

Visited for the first time in years last week and the food was incredible, owner visited our table and was incredibly friendly and even made us fresh, different dishes that weren't out on the buffet for us to try. Really good value, and will be back again soon!

For £12.99, the weekday lunch buffet was a steal. It’s a great place for a fuss-free lunch fix on days when you feel like having a little bit of everything. I enjoyed the naan and butter chicken the most, and I appreciate the live station where you get to have certain items cooked on request. The staff were really friendly and attentive. Very convenient location in the middle of town too. Will be back next time I’m feeling hungry in Ayr.

We called in for lunch on our way back to the boat from Edinburgh on a Saturday. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. There seemed to be a great range of food, although we didn't get to try all of it what we did have was nice - I particularly liked the noodle bar and the dessert section. It was quiet which I didn't expect on a Saturday afternoon but I assume there is a larger offering in the evening. If passing through again we will come back.

First visit, food choice excellent, service fantastic. Lovely restaurant, very clean. Only down side was listening to a man complain, after him and his family complained after going back for seconds at least 3 times. He was verbally abusive to the staff, whom in my opinion were lovely and very attentive. Clearly he was at it!! We will defo be back :-)
