Fish was cooked fresh, it tasted lovely too, favourite fish & chip shop

Found our fave chippy and I think we have pretty much used them all in the area. Great prices tasty food great value for money.

Been here many many times for a heck of a long time, but last few years it's not been that good and with regards to the chips it's gone downhill, main thing I dislike is obviously black rotten potatoes making it into the fryer, the last few times I just had a fish, skipping the chips altogether, then resently I took a chance and had 3 lots of fish and chips, fish was great and fresh as usual, but the chips were awful, sorry, we pretty much threw away half the chips, will most likely go again in the next 12 months, but for now I love another chip shop called McCain's oven chips

Rubbish service waiting for fish and chips X2 for 25 minutes 4 in hot box sold to new customers that just walked in... then asked to wait another 20 mins for fish then asked wher my order was didn't know rubbish service wouldn't recommend

When we fancy the best battered chips...perfectly cooked fish...kebab or anything...this is were we go...truly the best for miles...love the place ..even the way your food is wrapped...PROPPER JOB.....

Boring, boring Jimmy’s/The Island House Whatever it’s called, it’s absolutely dire! The fish is ok when drowned in vinegar, hence the one star but the 10 chips they do give you taste like paper. Oh, what a terrible chippy!

My wife Purchased 2 portions of chips in a white bag no bigger then a half loaf of bread it contained no more then a childs portion, at a total cost of £6.00 £3.00 per bag. You can buy a bag of potatoes and feed your neighbours and still have some left. It was a joke put both bags together still wouldn't make a decent amount and they looked stale. The cost of living and you are charging £6.00 not even 4 potatoes worth. AVOID This place is a total rip-off avoid at all costs.

Recently I haven't been impressed with the food. Chips starting to taste on the stale side. The last two times of going there haven't enjoyed my food unfortunately 😒

Now known as island house was a decent Chippy, ordering is easy and delivery time varies on how busy it is. Always a wait in the shop due to deliveries taking priority. Food quality has dropped a lot since delivery started a few years ago which is a shame. Prices are not too bad, food quality is hit and miss really and sometimes very disappointing, southern fried chicken is awful overcooked and not edible, seems like it’s been there all day! The Fish on the other hand was really good, chips are ok bit like most chippy’s now all using the same crappy oil leaving a not so good aftertaste.

1st time I've visited after being told about this place by a friend , not many customers at the time I went had a choice of batterd or plain chips another nice feature was putting tubes for the peas gravy into the takeout box instead of putting it on the food must say the food was delicious

Food is good, freshly prepared and they have some good offers. The ladies who work there are very nice and friendly. There is a man who works there but he is not very friendly and quite abrupt.

Taken over by Island Inn but the food is no where near the level of the island Inn on Stafford road.

Going downhill, we have used Jimmy’s for donkeys years however recently the quality of food is declining. Tonight’s meal was the worse, mixed kebab meat wrap seemed to be served in a pitta bread and not a wrap, The fish was awful with far too much batter and a wafer thin slice of greyish fish. We love Jimmys but we will be looking elsewhere

10/10 for food but staff just been in 14/7. 5 pm the girl who does the cooking who thinks she owns the place stud out back talking to delivery driver then stands in middle room talking to another girl buy this time queue is out door so she starts throwing the fish in the glass cabinet even the chap behind me told her people have got to eat that she’s definitely not a people person

Jimmy's is our local Chippy & have used them for over 25 years. It's by far the best for miles, in fact never found one better. Staff are all really friendly & helpful. Food is always excellent quality, would recommend them to anyone. Prices are good & portions generous. Even if there's a queue, don't be put off as service is really quick & it's well worth the wait.

So. After being 20 minutes later than adived in the 45 minute time slot. I called twice to chase. Was told the order was done wrong so corrected and now with driver. Arrived stone cold! What thenhell has happened to that place since becoming a chain. Disappointing to say the least.

I went twice, the first time there was no fish left and I took chicken, the second time there was and it was good, the potatoes are great. But very little flavor. They don't speak a word of Spanish and they don't even care. Correctly priced.

I would not expect that small chip shop runs online ordering, but ordered online via their website. I came at the time specified during ordering. Everything was just ready. Mix kebab in pita was really good. Everything was fresh and a portion was large. This portion was enough for hungry man, so side chips (huge portion) that I also ordered must wait a bit. Please is really clean and staff is very welcoming. I will for sure visit that place in the future.

Made an order for collection yesterday We were not impressed with food at all or the price for the quality we had received The grilled fish was dry & tasteless my mushy peas were missing order Fried fish batter was very greasy & yet the fish dry i specifically asked for batters yet unfortunately these were missing Needless to say the chips were greasy This is very disappointing as we have never had a problem with food here before!!! Everytime its been hot fresh good quality & cooked to perfection Certainly wasn't the usual quality or service we have previously experienced in the last few years

Burger meal arrived with Burnt bun. Asked for Salad, only received a few scraps. Kids meal arrived covered in Mayo, which we didn't ask for, child would not eat her meal. Bag of chips very greasy. Do Not Recommend.

I went to Jimmys fish bar 7 August 2021 16.00pm, lady didnt wash her hands after touching various surfaces and then placing the buns on the broiler, hair in my chips, (found out when i got home) chicken burger was salty and cheap tasting. I'm not sure what's happening here, the quality was great not long ago. I am so annoyed right now I want the owner to read this and bollock the women who served me. I hope this is a one off as it's the people in the shop when manager isn't there...unless she is the manager. I hope this gets sorted quick as reputation is so important but when you have people who look like they dont care, it makes you nervous. Forgot to add, the chips are a disgrace, greasy and not nice. This needs to get sorted quick, this is no joke. Really, I want my money back, I was starving, I got terrible food and paid alot of money for it.

Fantastic little chip shop... Stopped in passing through but hey what a hidden gem. Extremely well presented, very clean and really friendly staff.. High quality food and the lunch time specials are some of the best value you could ask for... £2 for 2 pieces of chicken in a box with chips. I only wish this place was closer to my home. Would highly recommend and is well worth traveling for. 5 stars 👍🏻

Tried this chip shop for the first time ever and I only live 10 minutes away and it was beautiful, Irish curry is the dogs ###### 👍😍

Used to be great...now not so much. Fish is great, but chips were greasy, discoloured, mashed together and surrounded by lots of little chip ends. Box they came in was so greasy it needed to go on a plate. Not worth the high price in my opinion.

Ordered on Friday on the App, for date and time I wanted to collect on Saturday night. Paid on placing order. Collected at time stated, all ready and waiting. Best chicken potion have had for a long time. Bedtway to order in my Opinion, especially in these times. Thank you.

Food is nice but some staff are rude and try to give you something other than what you ask for and then when you notice they get uneasy and ask if you don't trust them or something.

Placed order at 7.42pm for delivery to get confirmation delivery was 25 minutes at 20.35 still waiting I phoned to be told 3 other people were in front of my delivery so by time it gets here looking at 2.5 hours for a delivery I appreciate things are difficult but this is ridiculous 😡

Food as okay but a little bit to pricey

Very professional premises....... "BUT", could not accept the service offered as being realistic or necessary. Read the rest: Parked outs and ventured in for fish and chips in a tray open, as I wanted to eat them in my car. Simple - Yes ? Stunned when the sales assistant started wrapping them up in paper..... "No, I said ,can I have them in a tray I'm eating them straight away ?" No you can't as we are told by the boss we can't serve them like that, only wrapped up. My reply was..... WHY ? The following response is detailed Verbatim: I don't know ! Said the assistant !!!! With gritting teeth ! Feeling like I was asking for something bizarre..... I was left with no option but to go to the next "Chippy" down the road who were only to delighted to serve me accordingly. Will not return to Jimmy's - Simple ! (Difficult to attach any star rating as I was denied the opportunity to eat from there.)

Often gets orders wrong and burn the chicken, they also have high prices compared to other chippies in the area, horrendously over priced since they swapped boxes as well. The only good thing is that the staff are friendly.

Used to be our regular Chippy, but they have recently been not up to usual standards. Prices have gone up, but the quality of food has dropped and the portions are tiny. I ordered a large mix kebab and chips; for £6 it was very poor. Also the chicken was dry as a bone and was reheated or the last bits on the on scewer.

I am not usually a fan of chippy food, around Christmas I went to get some fish and chips for my mom and got some halloumi fries whilst there. They were the BEST EVER! Since then I have been back & had fish and chips (and halloumi fries again) it’s the best! They are clean, very nice, the food is served in a box too. I do tend to wait because I always order the fries but I would wait an hour for those halloumi fries! Will be back soon

Good proper fish and chips never had a poor one

So disappointed Food use to be incredible! Eaten here for the first time tonight in a few months and I am so disappointed! Mediterranean chicken meat was slimy! Donna meat was like rubber! More onion on the dish than needed. I must have had a whole onion chopped between the two meals ! Over all really really disappointed and will not be returning any time soon!

Just eaten great fish and chips best yet

The place is really busy, even throughout the week. Most of the times the quality of the food is good. But don't get surprised if you don't like the quality of the Southern Fried Chicken or of the doner kebabs. The taste is not bad, but a bit salty. The staffs are really welcoming.

Nothing better than a jimmys to get over a heavy night , I use this place 2 or 3 times a week and never get a bad un , bonus too it’s within walking distance from work

Bit pricier than most chippys in the area, but you get plenty and it's all beautiful.

The miserable owner reluctantly eventually came to serve me as he could not put it off anymore due to his assistant being otherwise engaged. Shuffled up to the counter and just raised his eyebrows and tilted back his head ( I presume he was trying to say "good afternoon how may I help you" but I could be wrong) he could not serve what I asked for and said " we only do this so....?" and just stood there with an expression as if he had just lost a £20 note and found a penny. It was very expensive for what I had. In fact a rip off. This place used to be loads better in lots of ways, tastier food, more competitive pricewise but more importantly 100% better customer service. I won't be going back, I will go to the one round the corner. No need for bad customer service these days.

Doesn’t matter if there is one person waiting or 10...you always have to wait for food! For example, A Monday offer is but a large fish and receive chips free. So you’d presume both would be ready to go, particularly given it’s an offer. But you’d be wrong! Along with that the range is always empty. It’s this kind of thing that has meant I won’t return. Enough competitors in the area for custom!

Bought chicken kebab and chips from here and can honestly say that it's one of the best I've had in a very long time, the kebab was delicious and the chips seem to be right out of the fryer. The place was clean and looked well decorated and inviting. Excellent chippy, would definitely recommend

Just moved into the area in early Dec. To find a great chippy great staff with quality food but now the size of a large fish has shrunk to the size of a mino, shame.

Not pleased with the food served today to me I ordered fish and chips. No freshness to it at all it looked and tasted like it had been sat heating for hours. Went straight in the bin. Both the fish and the chips were very dry to the mouth and really did not enjoy. Waste of money indeed. Disappointed 😔

Lovely food but when ive ordered delivery the 3 times ive ordered somethings missing or had to wait 1-2 hours for food and the last time the portion was wrong shame such a let down

Visiting friends in Tipton. They are always hooting about Jimmys and because I’m a Jim they dragged me here. So happy they did. After a long drive too Tipton I was starving and Jimmys Fish Bar did it for me. Filled up, happy, and ready to party on. I had an amazing chicken kebab and I mean amazing. Lush. Tasty, juicy and just the right spices. Chips were also beautisful. My friends all had fish and chips. All cooked well and generously portioned. Next time I visit it will defo be Jimmys again.

Very disappointed after ordering prior to arrival large Fish Raw batter threw it in the bin after asking for it to be very well done. Nice place and i don’t like giving this kind of review but just look at the fish is that cooked.
