What a great find! Best restaurant by far in Harrogate. Great vibe and atmosphere. Food was amazing. The starters/tapas were great, the Tuna and Pork Belly were incredible! Lovely staff and great service. Chef also amazing who came to chat to guests. Would highly recommend for dinner, tapas or drinks. Thank you everyone at Jesper’s!

I’m going to admit it didn’t get off to a great start when the drinks order came out wrong and instead of apologising the barman told me that “that was what the order had come through as”. He did return a bit later with the correct drink and a belated apology but the initial attitude didn’t inspire faith. Having decided to forgo starters because they didn’t appeal and were quite highly priced we went straight for mains. Unfortunately and for some reason I couldn’t quite work out there was a long delay on the mains but I have to say the waiter at this point was really spot on. Apologised for the long wait and provided some nibbles and a comp starter, I was beginning to get impressed. We even had the chef come out and apologise for the wait which we didn’t expect and was a nice touch. And kudos to the chef the mains were beautifully cooked, I had the steak Diane which was quite lovely with a rich unctuous mushroom sauce and my wife the lamb which was pink and again really cooked to perfection. At this point things went downhill badly. Our original waiter disappeared and the very quickly so did 2 of the chefs. We were left with one older gentleman (possibly the proprietor) who seemed a bit worse for wear and showed zero interest in asking if we’d like another drink or even a dessert. It was like we’d hit “clocking off” time and I do wonder if the junior chefs had a strict curfew. When we heard the chef announce he was off home after waiting for someone to talk to us for about half an hour we gave up and asked for the bill. And then after the chap upstairs glassy eyed missed the request for the bill had to wave my hands in front of his face try and get him to acknowledge our presence, which was odd because he did seem very proactive in shmoozing some other tables. So 3* - and for the first time ever I asked for the discretionary service charge removed because I expect some service and I would not have tipped the older chap. It was a bit like an episode of Ramsay’s kitchen Nightmares at the point he took over. My apology to the original waiter who deserved better. If they sort out the wildly inconsistent service I think this would be a recommendation.

Jesper, a delightful host and former mixologist is flying the flag for an inspirational Harrogate night out. Try the spectacular Tanqueray gin and tonic laced with Aperol and fresh grapefruit named after his wife, Kelly. Awesome 😎

What a really lovely cosy place ,the man on the night was so lovely and helpful and got me to try a Chardonnay which was delicious ! I had the liver pate and the steak and peppercorn frites both were absoloutly gorgeous except for me the peppercorn sauce was lovely but over powering of the dish for me ,personal choice so do not be put off 🙈the steak was cooked perfect ,my friend got the pulled pork croquette and the burger which she found ok 🥰

Jespers is a fantastic dining spot. The staff is friendly, the food and drink are excellent, and the service is quick. The cozy seating arrangements, including an outdoor area, add to the pleasant atmosphere. Plus, its central location makes it easily accessible. Highly recommended!

Jespers Bar and Kitchen has undoubtedly set the bar high for dining establishments in Harrogate. I loved every second of my evening there and I will be telling/urging everyone to give it a go.! The combination of exceptional service, delectable cuisine, masterfully crafted cocktails, and a captivating ambience makes it a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and those looking for a memorable dining experience. Whether you go for a romantic dinner, a casual get-together, or a celebratory event, Jespers provides a perfect setting for any occasion. I felt like I was on holiday, which is a great sign that I've found something truly special!

Booked a lunch table for two which we told the barman - he seemed to just point to a random free table, which we took (I dont believe it was actually reserved). We were offered drinks whilst we viewed the menu, however in the end after a long wait with our menus - we had to ask if we could order. When our food arrived, my husbands was incorrect and so had to go back. I ate mostly on my own - which is always disappointing. The food is good but took a while to come out both times. We were left with our empty plates for a while longer than i liked, however the owner spotted it and removed them. I would say the food is good and the vibe is nice and cosy. The owner was gracious when I explained the service had not lived up to expectations. We would make a cautious return based purely on the food being good and the owner who clearly wished to make amends for our somewhat disappointing lunch.

Our go-to place if we want to impress friends. Food, atmosphere, wine and service are all 5 stars. If you’re a wine lover, ask Jesper for the “off menu” wines and he will present you with some amazing choices. I think we’re here at least once a month because we just have such a great time every time we’re there. This is not just a restaurant, it’s a dining and wining experience like none other in Harrogate. We love it!

Fantastic food in Harrogate and wonderful hospitality. Best steak I’ve had for a long time. Happy hour Malbec wine choice was perfect. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Visited with my wife for the first time. We live in Harrogate and visit many of the great restaurants regularly but some reason never tried Jespers. After been voted one of the of the best restaurant in Harrogate on FB we gave it a try. We were met by Jesper himself, he knows how to do hospitality he really does. Unpretentious, great food, relaxed and not rushed. People having cocktails, food, just. a great vibe. Understand why it’s so popular it’s different, cool place. Loved it and will return ❤️

Went for the bottomless brunch yesterday afternoon (Sunday). Four small plates plus unlimited drinks. All of the dishes were delicious - nothing to fault at all. Highlights were the sweetcorn fritters and Eggs Benedict. Service was swift but not rushed. Ava (?) as front of house was lovely. Very smiley and attentive, keeping our drinks topped up. Excellent service and dog friendly too with plenty of room for our Labrador to sleep under the table. We will be back again very soon.

With so many wannabees springing up everywhere this is the real deal. The moment we walked through the door we felt relaxed and found the place cosy. The service was very good and the staff were attentive but not overwhelming, we even met the owner Jesper who made us feel like we were VIP's, but we still had to share him with the other patrons. The Mushroom Baklava was amazing, so many different flavours especially the soil!! and the Braised Ox Cheek, for the main, was divine. I would have loved to sample the extensive wine and cocktails available but i was driving so had an excellent non alcoholic Weiss Bier. The place was busy but it was such a friendly atmosphere. A thoroughly enjoyable evening which i will repeat.

I went for a lovely evening dinner, the atmosphere was warm and relaxing. The food was gorgeous with a wide range of different flavours accompanied with a vast selection of wines and cocktails! I'll have to go back to try more of their menu!

First impressions were great - wonderful decor nice atmosphere. Then we were shown to our table on the first floor where tables were crammed in. Far too many tables meaning we kept having to shuffle our chairs in for the waitress to get to other tables. Main courses were ok. Not the best steak I’ve ever had but also not the worst. The dessert menu only had 3 items on, one of which was sold out. We could either choose chocolate slab or cheese. We both went for the chocolate slab. Did not expect to get actual pebbles on our plate - very random and unappetising. The chocolate slab itself was far too rich and the chocolate sauce type thing was pointless. All in all we wouldn’t return. Far too many better restaurants in Harrogate to choose from.

Its always great when you try somewhere new and have a fantastic experience. This restaurant is exceptional. Great service, amazing food and a lovely setting. My meal of smoked haddock scotch eggs, braised Ox cheek and chocolate/hazelnut slice was just perfection on a plate - and all washed down with a wonderful bottle of Californian Sauvignon Blanc! Special thanks to Jesper for making us feel so welcome and for being so chatty! I would highly recommend!
