We were recommended to try JCP and were not disappointed. From the moment we walked into the place we had an enjoyable experience. Service was really good and the staff made a point of getting into a conversation with us. We had breakfast and 1 Cappuccino and 1 Americano. Both were exceptional regarding flavour and presentation, this went for the food as well. Based on experience we will revisit when in Norwich.

The venue is lovely, located in central Norwich and the food…. Just so good. A really comprehensive menu with lots of choice and vegetarian friendly (properly vegetarian friendly!) Eggs Bennie was a real delight. It was beautifully presented and the hollandaise sauce was the perfect blend of texture and delicate flavour. Service was friendly and relaxed. We came for breakfast. The coffee was so good we ordered another. A great experience!

MORE AT TripAdvisor

I very recently (End of March 24) stayed in my home city of Norwich for a couple of nights, and on my airbnb hosts recommendation came here for breakfast on the final morning prior to a 3.5 hour drive home. The location is excellent, very central, and for me about 2 minutes walk from where I was staying. Inside is both cosy at the front, but also full of light thanks to all the windows and the glass roof at the rear, it feels classy but casual at the same time. As I went in for my very first visit, I was greeted informally immediately by the people working there and was fortunate enough to be then seated by Jamal who is one of the owners. He's super friendly, and we had a good chat where I found out about the business, who runs it, and how long it has existed. One thing I noticed, with all of my interactions with Jamal, and two of his members of staff who were there, and observing peripherally when their friends dropped in, and customers (seemingly regular) was that it seemed glaringly evident to me that everyone who worked there wanted to be there, took pride in their work, be it front of house, working behind the counter, or in the kitchen, and I felt a ton of positivity and a really good atmosphere/vibe, whatever you want to call it. The net result being (imho) that the ambience was sublime, relaxed, chatty, and happy, and we haven't even gotten onto the food and coffee yet! I ordered the standard size full english breakfast, and note that that normally I sub out the baked beans and cooked tomatoes. The latter I clearly missed when I looked at the menu, and as the baked beans said they were home made, decided to try them. It arrived and looked fab, not one of your cliche greasy spoon fry ups I hasten to add, but the quality visually was evident - note that even though the beans were home cooked and not swimming in a sweet tomato sauce, they were still intelligently confined to their own bowl, so the taste would not automatically make it's way into everything else on the plate. Sausage - very tasty, perfectly cooked, so flavoursome - I was offered and asked for smoe brown sauce which was bought on a seperate plate, but in all honesty the flavours were so good and varied, it wasn't really necessary. Mushrooms - I love shrooms, who doesn't?! And these were beautifully cooked, and very flavoursome. Toast - home made bread, I believe brushed with olive oil, absolutely delicious, and not ridiculously crunchy like some toasts that you get are. Hash brown - clearly home made, absolutely packed with flavour, savoured in small pieces accompanying other parts of the breakfast. Poached egg - Choices here were scrambled, fried or poached, so I asked Jamal his recommendation, and went with it - it was beautifully done, properly in the way where someone has to swirl it in the boiling water, and was deliciously runny and tasty, cooked to utter perfection. Bacon - thick and perfectly cooked again, so much taste and flavour. Now onto the two items I normally do not like as much. Beans - home made, in a delicious sauce, but not overwhelming flavours, just full of delicious flavours, a perfect accompaniment to the rest of the breakfast - and as mentioned in it's own bowl! Tomatoes - only left these in because I wasn't paying attention, never a fan of the large half tomatoes in these breakfasts, find them too acidy. These however were 4 plum tomatoes, and were not acidic, and also critically were not cooked to within an inch of their lives, they were delicious, zingy and served as a really nice alternative different taste to the rest of the plate. As I remarked to one friendly young front of house staff, it was the best full english I have ever had, absolutely overflowing with flavour, and clearly prepared/cooked and created with real love and attention to detail. Next up coffee - I had two cups, one with the breakfast, and one just after - I started with a decaf oatmilk cappucino, and then had a caffeinated americano again with oatmilk. The chap behind 'the decks' did a sterling job, and they were both delicious cups - all prepared and served with a smile as well I hasten to add. If I was local, I suspect I would be down here at least once a week, as it is being 3.5 hours drive away, I'll be lucky to get down twice a year, but I will certainly be bringing my partner and 10 year old daughter down to experience the place, atmosphere and food. To me, it feels like one of those rare occasions where they have gotten everything right, and things just snowball - one of the reasons why I will always prefer independent businesses, and something large corporate chains will never be able to replicate. I wish Jamal and the team every success for the future, and cannot wait to revisit. If you have been before, you'll know what I am talking about, if you are yet to go, you need to get down there, what are you waiting for?!

Not the first time we’ve enjoyed the delicious food and ambiance here and each time has been a joy. From the moment you walk in you’re greeted warmly by the staff and shown to a table. The staff are friendly and attentive. The menu has a lovely balance to it and at the moment we’re trying different dishes, including gluten free, which have all been very satisfying. The coffee too is exceptional which is great when accompanied with the chef’s awesome carrot cake! A special place in Norwich !

The menu boasts a great selection of fresh and home cooked food, with staff who are clearly passionate about providing good food and service. Highly recommend for brunch - my only issue was the amount of dishes containing eggs, but that’s personal preference rather than a critique.

I've been here a couple of times now and I have to say I really love what these guys are doing.Norwich has been screaming out for a good brunch spot and JCPinto have nailed it. The staff are fantastic, cheerful, helpful and as far as I can make out busy busy busy. The menu is spot on, some classics and some twists, everything is mouthwateringly brilliant. They do wonderful crispy potato cakes that are delicious and the smoked haddock mac & cheese I had this morning is a game-changer. Well done team, bravo!

Invited by a friend/business associate for an impromptu lunch and catch up. Immediately struck by the buzzy vibe and comfortable environment. Settled in for terrific Eggs Benny Benedict and plenty of very fine coffee. The service was friendly, attentive and timely. We were encouraged to relax and take our time over a leisurely lunch hour (2 hours in fact). Well done - midweek lunch as it should be.
