Absolutely the best fish and chips in Bournemouth. Not greasy, nice and crispy batter. Never feel ill after eating it. Lovely staff too

Came in earlier, food medioca, my husband ordered a small cod, it literally looked like a fish tail.. However could not believe the way the guy cooking spoke to the staff, young girl serving and young lad delivering, his language was appalling, f’ing and blinding, I imagine he was trying to be funny but quite frankly he wasn’t.. I’m not offended by bad language but with customers present & clearly making the young people feel small was a disgrace. This guy needs to seriously grow up.

I absolutely love JB's. It's the only chippy I've found that does vegan chips, they're so much nicer than regular chippy chips. Super yummy

One hell of a hidden jem this place. Just outstanding food. It’s not just a chip shop this place. The burger I bought just blew me away, one of the best ive had in a while and in a nice box to make sure it didn’t get squashed. Those chilli cheese bits..... what the hell was that. they were amazing. no right just calling them chilli cheese bits. need to call them friggin burning balls of fire.... one hell of a kick. dont eat lightly. Really really nice chips, great potion sizes and the guys who run it come across really friendly and chatty. I highly recommend

Massively disappointed to find out they have stopped cooking with beef dripping...ordered anyway and they refused to take the skin off the haddock (which I never have issues with at other chip shops) so went for the cod and chips.. Chips were average at best but the batter on the fish was horrible and left loads of oil on the plate.. Not nice at all and won't be going back now the beef dripping had gone.

OMG your food has gone down the Pan , Fish not cooked properly, chips obviously left from Lunch time and refried …….😡 the foxes enjoyed it ……you won’t be seeing me again

One of the nicest fish and chips I've had and the Haddock is always delicious. And they can't be beaten on price either. Recommended!

Awful fish and chips, fish batter was tasteless. Chips tasted floury and small. The mozzarella sticks were caked in oil and barely any cheese inside. There was also a hair in my chips I would avoid this place

Good to see a chip shop with vegan menu! We had battered Richmond sausage, banana blossom "fish " and chips. Check their website for vegan menu , they have more food than in the shop on the board! Food was really nice, we'll go back again when we are in Dorset!

Great Fish & Chip shop. We use JBs because they have a great vegan menu. Loads of options to choose from. They offer a convenient online ordering service for collection or local delivery. Great value for money. Would definitely recommend them.

Wanted to try out my local fish and chips before i leave bournemouth. I was expecting top tier fish and chips due to the nature of chippys and to the branding "JB" seemed like maybe there was something to be proud of. However I was certainly let down and looked more forward to writing a review than finishing my dinner. First of all my fish, the gentlemen checked with a probe when it was time to come out and i was happy to see that and was certainly pleased at this stage but then once it was done it went straight onto the shelf to straight into my box...Well lets just say my fish was dripping with oil and even left a lovely puddle of oil in the box. Secondly, "Regular" maybe i was given the wrong fish however i was expecting a larger portion of fish and nearny asked if they had got my order wrong this does raises questions on the supplier side things. Thirdly, I eat it and was just upset by the shear oil on it dripping, someone mentioned the batter on the review and i certainly did not think it was amazing. Fish: 2/10. The Chips. Oh my..I suspected there was a five guys approach to the chips or the oil needs a change. I'm starting to think because of the theme of oil in this post it was actually old oil and by the looks of the colour and taste it was old oil. Maybe i am wrong and there's a unique type of oil being used. I am aware chippys like to strengthen the flavour of there oil by re using them and while that's not bad i can in fact say my chips tasted dirty. The size and cut of the chips were certainly not fish and chip style but slightly thicker than french fries. 0/10 mushy peas were alright.. 5/10 Price for food above: 4/10..cheaper side of things but your better spending it in aldi and making tin and frozen. Overall it was awful. Would certernaly drive to the next fish and chips and never return even as a local. I suggest extra training on oil and showing them exactly what happens if it doesn't rest for long enough. I also suggest trying different cuts of chips and if need be change the make of potato. This was definitely a harsh review but maybe it was a one off on a bad day but not as bad as the bistro gravy. EDIT: I inspected others photos and can confirm my meal looked nothing like any of the photos..Colour or size.

Usually great fish and chips and couldn't fault them however when we have been getting the usually chips and sausage deal (which has now increased in price recently) the chips have not be up to par and really soggy. Such a shame as they used to really crispy and enjoyable.

Fantastic place! Based not too far away in Basingstoke and had a beach day out on the Jurrasic Coast. Decided to pop in driving back home. Tasty fish and chips fried with proper animal fat/beef dripping the way people fried hundreds of years ago when vegetable seed oils did not exist. Would recommend to anyone driving past Poole! Would definitely be coming back as it is hard to find places that still fry in beef tallow. Keep it up guys! Ah and the mushy peas were banging.

Went to JBs for the first time this evening. Was just passing and fancied fish and chips. Once we paid we were waiting a little while but the owners were great and gave my little girl a free fruit shoot. We got the food just after but it was worth the wait. I realised that they cooked our order from fresh so there would of been a slight wait. Best take out from a fish and chips shop that I can remember and we will definitely be going back. Thank you! Keep up the good work JBs. P.S - try their curry sauce and chilli mayo. Great sauces.

Booked on line and fish and chips were delivered, bag of chips was not sealed so cold and the fish was very thin with thick uncooked batter so sorry won't order again

Excellent chippy, everything is cooked fresh and not left keeping warmed up for hours, great service and good prices.

Got address wrong, maybe possibly my fault, but delivery person made sure to remind me to get it right next time. Thought there would have been some chips, spent more than £20 for two pieces of fish, as a previous chef, know they were not freshly cooked. Food was OK but would not use again.

*a cautionary tale* We've ordered this evening from JBs. Want to start by saying that the food at JBs is 10/10 we've always loved their variety and high quality food. However we want to warn people to be careful when ordering from the just eat website, the menu is misleading, we ordered chips alongside a banana blossom order (the menu even let's you put salt/vinegar on the chips) however the food came missing the chips. When questioned this we were told it was our problem because just eats menu option is misleading - why put chip seasoning options if chips weren't put in the basket? It said on our order "chips - salt seasoning" ?! They were rude and unhelpful and condescending. As much as we enjoy their food I can't say I'd order from here again by the way we were treated and spoken to. Very sad and disappointed.

I visited the chippy on Saturday evening. I was horrified to see how unclean the place was, when I enter the mat at the door must have not been cleaned for the last number of years. There was a discarded rubber glove on the ground. The whole place could do with a major clean. The staff behind the counter had no hair nets. In my experience, it is one of the worst fish and chip meals that I’ve ever eaten I did not finish it I put most of us in the bin. I do not understand how people can get away with running such dirty establishment. If you do not believe me, go and visit the place for yourself.

Amazing to have a full vegan selection! We tried the Quorn Sausage, Richmond Sausage, Tofish and vegan chips. The animal menu is cooked in beef fat, but there is a separate fryer with rapeseed oil for the vegan menu so no contamination! The food was awesome. Tasty, yummy batter and the nori really gave the Tofish a great fishy flavour. The chips were good and it was such a treat to be able to go to a chip shop and have options. Thank you for catering to your meat free customers- amazing!

Really good portion sizes and loved the Dirty Fries. You're now our local go to and there's plenty of choice on the menu.

Most things are cooked in beef fat, why would you want to cook fish in beef fat?

Brilliant, delicious food that arrives hot and with very generous portions. Delivery time is always quick and polite. Have had several deliveries from this company and they have always been true to the pictures displayed on the website and we have never been unsatisfied with our orders.

Tasty fish and scampi, the chips were cold by the time they had arrived although there was a generous amount of cheese on them. The mushy peas were very dry and not nice to eat. The curry sauce was a lot smaller than expected maybe a larger size option would be handy.

Ordered via just eat, food was almost an hour late, Stone cold and when trying to call them they never answered just hung the phone up twice. Don't seem to value customers at all. Absoulty disgusting service and food.

I rarely leave reviews but honestly these were the best fish and chips I've ever had! Absolutely delicous, fish was really well cooked batter was lovely chips were the best. Great service, ordered on Just eat and pre ordered, came on time. Even rang to check and the staff were friendly. Definately will be ordering again.

Worst chips we have ever eaten. The chicken nuggets were cremated. The fish cakes fell apart all of it was vile. Will never eat here again. First and last time tonight. My stomach is bad with awful pains and feel sick

Food and delivery service were both good.

1st order the pea fritter did not arrive and they brought it later but by that time everyone had finished. Good food however 2nd order I did collection instead of delivery and they called me up and then arranged for delivery which was great. When the delivery came some times were incorrect but Majority of food was good

JB's is our regular fish and chip shop. There food is delicious, and we love the dirty fries and the burgers. They also have an amazing big slice of Chocolate Fudge Cake that I'd definitely recommend. Can't recommend JB's enough, it's the best Fish And Chip Shop. We use them all the time, and have never been disappointed.

Ordered through Just Eat this evening. Cod didn't taste fresh, or of anything but oil. Chips were soggy. Banana blossom 'fish' just wasn't nice. Whole thing wasn't edible at all. Also very expensive, especially for a rubbish meal.

Okay so I would of taken a picture of my burger but it looked that good I sat in my car and ate every last bit of it. Talk about a well presented and very tasty burger, it's gotta be the best one I've had in over 10 years. When I opted our of the sauce the chap behind the counter gave me a pot and said give it a try, I'm glad I did because wow it made the burger taste even more tasty. I will be back because there is other I want to try. Great job guys, and good attentive customer service. P.S Really nice touch with the burger Box too 👌
