Creekmoor Plaice in Poole

Stopped by and ordered breaded (aka crumbed) cod and haddock. Was amazing fish and some of the best I’ve had traveling around the UK. Unfortunately the chips were a bit soggy by the time we opened the bag but I know some people like them that way.

Had a really busy day and a neighbour recommended this takeaway.We had one portion chips enough for two,large fish,homemade fish cake ,mushy peas,curry sauce.Everyhing was freshly cooked fish was enormous as was the fish cake although both were very tasty.Only gave 4 stars as the bag broke on my path and everything fell out.Luckily all inner wrappings were intact so was o.k.Would recommend although would have a smaller fish and maybe share the fishcake.As portions are very large.Cost was £16 a bit expensive the fish was £8.Would only have for a treat.We got there at 5p.m opening time there was soon a queue.But you can telephone your order.We will definately use again.

Amazing 😍 Creekmoor plaice is our local takeaway. We have been indulging in their delicious cuisine of fried delights for over 15 years.

Very friendly staff, quick and prices are good. Parking can be an issue during busy times but generally a place is available very close to the chippy. I've been visiting for several years and the only thing preventing me from giving 5 stars is that the cooking of the chips can be inconsistent, but that maybe just my preference. Definitely one of the best around.👍

We were on holiday staying at a local Airbnb, our host recommended Creekmoor Plaice, and how right they were. We had cod and small portion of chips, the small portion was more like the large portion we normally get and the cod was a generous size, excellant value for money.

Delicious fish and chips. Generous portions, very well cooked. First time I visited, definitely won't be the last.

A real shame...! Had food from here a few times and the quality has gone down hill with every order. Often we find by the time we've got home that items are missing from the order, small things like sauce pots and things like that. But our most recent meal was awful. Fish really dry and chewy, and chips massively undercooked. Almost rock solid. I must say, the first time we ate from here it was great, but over time this takeaway has really gone downhill and we won't be ordering from here anymore. For anyone visiting the area or thinking of this place, avoid and take the trip 5 mins down the road to Broadstone where there are a few things on offer to choose from. Your evening and dinner will be much better if you do that.

This is our local chip shop, serving fish, pies, sausages, etc and chips to takeaway. Payment is cash only and the food is almost cooked to order. There is limited parking in the road outside, so if you live too far away to walk then it probably pays to telephone your order in advance, as you may have to wait a little while for your order. The food is good with plenty of chips. If you can't eat them all they can be frozen and are still very nice when reheated. We get food from here several times a year as a treat.

Food and service is great. Price is really good. Staff seem a little cold and unfriendly, maybe because they are so busy and want to crack on.

The Creakmoor Plaice is a very well run established with locals fish and chip hub of real quality. We were staying in the Ceakmoor Village on tour of local East Dorset and also went to the local fishing lake for anglers - subject to the spoils of weather- and visited the Plaice that is definitley recommended for the finest cod and chips as a spot meal. The Creakmoor Plaice passes my own high test of well battered fish and chips at reasonable price for a couple of seasoned cod and chippers!

Another delicious meal from Creekmoor Plaice: 1 breaded plaice, small chips, 2 homemade fishcakes, more than enough for 2 adults. Thank you again for great food!

Went yesterday for lunch, had a large cod and chips and was completely blown away! Totally unexpected. The shop is very clean and the staff are both friendly and efficient. The food, just wonderful. The cod was thick and over a foot long and the chips were perfect. Not greasy at all. Best fish and chips I've had in a long time. I'll be coming back with family, friends and anyone who'll listen.

I've been going here for years as it's my local fish and chip shop, but tonight wasn't the best.... chips were a bit funny, and the fishcake i had was really dry... I'm not sure what happened tonight.

Well size portions always cooked fresh, I've seen some other local comments but I've never had a bad meal.b one draw down it's only cash.

Can honestly say this is by far the best fish and chips hands down. Pricing is fair and orders are always on point. The quality is so good and the portion sizes are huge. Won’t be going anywhere else.

Nice friendly staff, clean establishment. Average scampi and chips. I wouldnt normally choose scampi but that's what I fancied and it was a little bit of a let down. The custinh was nice but inside it "the scampi" was quite watery. Ok flavour but wouldn't have a again. Used to live near this place and every few weeks have haddock and chips. That was always very nice. The chips are good .

This is the only fish and chips shop where it is still possible to get a generous portion of fish and chips for under 10 pounds. Everyone else have either raised their prices ridiculously high, reduced their portions to miniscule sizes or done both! A good honest business that is not a rip off. This reason alone deserves a 5 star rating from me.

WORST fish and chips ever! Asked for vinegar and salt on small packets (They didn't have any) so I agreed for them to put vinegar on my fish and chips even though I don't like mine getting soggy. I tasted the fish & chips in the car and there wasn't any salt and not a taste of vinegar. I went back and bought a bottle of vinegar from them. It wasn't even malt vinegar which explains the lack of vinegar taste(see ingredients, caramel thingy causes cancer). I was willing to eat the fish and chips even though the experience with them was bad. The worst part is, they tasted the worst fish and chips I ever tasted! I should've read ALL the reviews first. So disappointed!

Didn't think much of my oriental fish & chips experience. The locals obviously don't get out much. Fish was dry and suspiciously too perfect like it had just come off a production line. Chips weren't really authentic, more like deep fried oven fry chips. Feeling sick, as a bonus

We found this fish and chip shop by accident and didn't regret it. Very reasonably priced and delicious fish and chips. Fast efficient service and if you are more organised than we were you can order ahead. NB Cash only here but we'll worth the trip to the ATM.

Frozen undercooked chips if I wanted Chinese chips would have gone to a Chinese, bland fish cakes , curry sauce watery and funky taste , chicken burgers were ok but the best part was the can of coke , avoid if you enjoy food .

Biggest bag of chips for the price in the area.

We regularly have fish and chips from here alway great and pleasant staff. We have tried others around us but don’t compare. I would prefer to drive the five and a half miles from my home in Wimborne for a decent meal. Ps the chip portion is MASSIVE.

Loved the fish and chips, good sized portion.I was a bit disappointed with the mushy peas (kind of sickly looking) and found the home made fishcake very dry.

Tonight was my first visit, but won't be my last. The portion was a really good size and the quality was excellent. It's the best fish and chips I've had for a very long time. We could do with you in Corfe Mullen.

Best chippy around, big portions and you don't wait as long as other chip shops because they don't do deliverys.

I don’t know what standard of fish and chips people in this area are used to but without doubt, these were the worst I have ever had. The fish was like the pre battered fish you get from a supermarket and definitely wasn’t fresh. The fish was tasteless and grey not white and flaky like you would expect from a chip shop. I’m not even going to mention the chips. The whole lot went in the bin. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND STAY WELL CLEAR.

I went there today for the first time.The fish and chips has cook perfectly! The fish it's so fresh and large the batter is really crispy and nice, will go there again anytime soon.

Had large cod and chips the chips were anaemic and undercooked. How a chippy can't cook some chips is beyond me. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

Its cheap, not brilliant but good enough

Went there on 10th Feb after reading all the positive reviews but was disappointed. The fish was excellent: large, perfectly cooked and a very reasonable price. But the batter was dreadful, it was thick, doughy and had no crispness at all. I didn't have any chips so can't comment on them. Perhaps it was just an off day.

Called in for a fish & chip supper yesterday evening with friends. Pleasant quick service and piping hot food delivered in minutes! Good grub and a good price, happy bellies all round!

I go here a lot and can safely say that it's the best fish and chip shop in the Poole area. Very well run with brilliant staff. Food is always excellent and portion sizes extremely generous. Prices are modest. A lot of the more expensive fish and chip shops in the area should maybe learn how to do it properly from this place! Extremely impressed!

The best fish and chip shop I’ve ever been to. It’s absolutely superb for fish and chips. I don’t know what I’d do if it closed down. Large cod and chips is just great.

Food was reasonable and the staff were friendly but the service was very slow. I waited over 30 minutes for chips and 2 fishcakes. I visited on a frid around 7 pm, There were 5 staff working and only 4 customers ahead of me, the staff unfortunately did nothing to make be suspect that it was unusually slow.

You get a lot for your money and it is freshly cooked. Lack of consistency let's it down a little bit - Usually tastes superb, sometimes a bit so-so.

Not bad portion sizes, chips aren't too bad. I've had better and I've had worse. You can't pay by card here but they will let you nip across the street to the cash machine. There is a good choice of chip shop classics on the menu and the prices are reasonable

I was in the area visiting friends and they asked me to pop in to get some food for the evening. Damn I was surprised when I received the order. The small fish they give you is almost equivalent a large size in any other chippy. They were chunky and moist and tasted real good, not paper thin and dry like others. Portions of chips are very big as well. I can absolutely say that this is one of the best, if not the best chippy I been to over the years. Too bad I don't live in the area otherwise I would be going there regularly.

Never had an issue with this chip shop and can not fault the portion sizes or value for money nut recently the quality of food has gone massively down hill. My partner has fish that reeked of Ammonia which we had to take back. Sausages are of poor quality and the chips can be very cheap and nasty tasting. A real shame because used to be our go to chippy.

Went for lunchtime fishcake and chips. Chips were good but fishcakes were terrible, NO fish in them. I have since returned early evening, had fish and chips waited 5mins for them. Chips were ok, fish was really good nice and meaty and crispy batter. Will now return regularly.

Great food, great portions. Can get quite busy at the popular times so try to avoid these times if possible.

We love going to ger our fish abs chips from Creekmoor Plaice, we love it so much we come back from the beach get our fish and chioc and go back ti the beach. Great friendly service too.

we regularly get our fish and chips from here and is good but lately its gone down hill over the last few months and the last meal we had there in July 18 the pea fritter was dry and cold inside and outside was rock hard to cut into, the fish was greasy batter and tiny fish inside when it should of been large and the chips looked like they had been reheated. has put us off going there now. Have to find somewhere else to get our Friday night tea.

Only take cash ( always find that a bit strange, why ? I ran a business for 30 years and card payments are cheaper and easier ). Usually very good but a little greasy tonight. Generally ok.

Run by a Chinese family was kind of unexpected but I was pleasantly surprised. Fast friendly service and good quality good with generous portion sizes. Have gone back many times and definately now my favourite PLAICE for fish and chips...see what I did there. 😜😂

We ordered alot of food,one burger was mistakenly forgotten ,phoned up and they offered two more,for free,food lovely and large portions!! Polite staff,I've been using them for seven years 1st mistake! .
