Was tasty BUT would have preferred to be offered and would have waited for a freshly cooked piece of battered fish...

Placed order and it was mostly wrong. Also what we did eat was garbage. Avoid at all costs. Would put zero stars but haven't got that option.

Delivery absolute rubbish nothing to do with driver it's more to do with the service in general although I did wait more than 90 minutes well and truly miffed to be honest and the pizza I ordered did not have correct topping delivery service is not fit for purpose.

Just ordered a 10” Munchie box and can honestly say that’s the worst food I’ve ever had in my 20 years of existence the chips tasted like oil soaked cardboard the donner meat isn’t even edible Jeffrey Dahmer wouldn’t even eat it, a won’t even mention the pizza and someone tell the cooks there’s always vacancies in the prison service as that’s the standard of food your putting out rank rotten

Ordered food and waited to be told over 2 hours later they haven't even made it yet. But the previous phone call said it was with the driver. Shocking service attitude and being lied to. Absolute disgrace.

I'm glad I didn't heed the reviews here. I think some forget this is a chippy, not a 5 star restaraunt. Anyway.. I've bought takeaway here 6 - 8 times in the last few weeks and everytime's been great! Fantastic value, especially the special fish and absolutely the best chips in the area by far. I'd give 6 stars if I could. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I know you was busy last night,you know I’m a head chef but to wait over two hours for a simple fish and chips is terrible. When it finally arrived the chips were under cooked like they had been rushed the fish was over cooked and the batter harder then cement, in all worse fish and chips I’ve ever eaten which is not like you guys as you normally fantastic such a shame,in future if it not right don’t send it out, regards simon

Ordered what i thought was an actual cheeseburger 🍔 but actually got a waffer thin burger with cheese injected into it and fried in batter, looked nothing like the photo for a cheeseburger! Chips were so dry and clearly reheats, Jaz's has seriously went down hill since the new occupiers!

Chips reheated waited 3 and a half hours pizza was not good at all cold I understand that the weather is bad but when I phoned for a delivery was told would be over a hour if I new it would have took 3 hours I wouldn't have bothered

Chips always turn up with no salt and sauce when asked for. Food had definitely went downhill the past year, always used jazz’s but unfortunately will be going elsewhere. I’d recommend to steer clear to avoid disappointment

Just had a fish supper delivered it was warm will not get a delivery again took over an hour

Really angry, stopped using jaz's a while back after ordering the special kebab which was sent out minus the chicken shish, today I walked past and there was new staff so I ordered this again in the shop... I get it home and same again no chicken shish, £13 for ali's Special which is mainly donner and horrible chicken kebab that's dry burnt offerings! I'll never use them again... Always something wrong I've had other things like pizza which was cold within 2 mins of opening the box (I'm a 2 mins walk from there) Why the chef never notified me there was no chicken shish is pretty sad tbh... Happy to take the £13 but not give what I paid for, I'll never be back anyone I speak to has only had bad things to say and even though its new staff they still haven't learned from before and will just rush anything out and take your money! 0 stars

I've used it for years but it's not as good as it used to be I placed a order no long after it opened chips were not as good or as hot either I'm going to use another place so that's why I've gave it 2 * prices have shot up as well .

Got 70 quid worth of food for the family only edible thing was the salad . the pizza dough was raw chicken pakora raw alis special kebab was as if it was floating on a pond of Grease the garlic mayo was off never seen grey mayo in my life either chips were a reheated stodgy mess asked for money back they said no lol boss said he's been cooking pizzas there for 15 years I've been eating pizza for 20 years and I've never had a raw pizza think you need a new career mate AVOID THIS PLACE really dirty aswell one of the workers had dirty finger nails very arrogant on the phone to and I dunno where they have gotten there pics for menu ect well stollen from another shop. place could do with a right good clean n some nail brushes for the staff ali boy ya mad unhygienic robbing rat cheers for trying to give us ecoli ya dafty

I ordered a chicken and donar calzone but only received chicken. I then called up and explained but was told that I had to say mixed instead of chicken AND donar. If I ask for a chicken and donar then why would I just receive chicken when I clearly stated both which is MIXED. The man on the phone then said there is nothing they can do because it was already made even though it was his mistake.

Our go to chippy. Food has always been amazing, staff very friendly. Never had any complaints.

Just spent 31 quid to be told garlic or mayonnaise has to be paid for absalout rip off considering the food was bland any way stay clear folks

Adequate.Could not understand simple order. Fishcakes overdone and steak pie indescribable. Did not bother about protective masks.

Basic fish supper always has two fish well cooked as are the chips.

Normally order from here on a weekly basis. 90% of the time something is missing or wrong. Not one to normally complain but after happening time and time again I think I should as a warning to other people. Getting charged for food that doesnt arrive or isn't right

The most salty pizza you can order 😳😳 Food hot and arrived quick. If the salt in the pizza would be checked this would be a very good improvement as it was very cheesy but wow too salty. Fries are very poor Sorry 🙁

Got mixed donner pizza hardly any chicken on it and the base wasn't nice usually good food but won't be using again

Ordered 2 pizzas and chips under the meal deal 2 option ...when got home a rubber bristle from the pasting brush was stuck in the pizza ..when phoned to ask the abuse giving to my female parter by the male manger was outrageous. .was told to call food standers so I have called out of hours food standards...avoid like the plague

As I work till late and live locally to this Chippie I have now been to Jaz,s on more than 5 occasions on a Friday or Saturday night around 11.15 when I get home from town On ordering I am told fryers are off despite chip shop hours stating they are open to midnightI am offered food available in hot cabinet All meat based which I don't eatI am now so fed up as to night I had friends staying and hoped the delivery service might have improved operationally tried to place order 2335 for myself and 5 friends only to be told fryers were off This order plus juice ect would have been around £65 plus and delivery charge This Chippie shouldn't advertise that it's open till 12 midnight Friday and Saturday as it's really not unless you want left overs If you're vegetarian like me and my friends you don't stand a chance The left overs are all meat basedDoes the owner know he's losing revenue due to fryers being switched off before the actual closing time of the Chippie????In future I'll need to get off bus in Dalkeith pick up Chippie food then get bus home to Woodburn and when friends stay again (as we all work til late) we,LL order from Dalkeith or buy in Edinburgh

Since me & my partner are new to the area; we didn't know which was best. So we decided to give it a try. Great menu, friendly staff, tasty food and the shop was clean and modern which attracted us too much.

They forgot my bottle of juice whilst i was gasping on a drink, wouldnt recommend since they closed right after they delivered my stuff 😶😶

Burger was drowned in ketchup when I asked for a little, got a 1.5 litre Fanta ( in another language) when I order a 2 litre bottle of Pepsi! Not happy!

This week I ordered my first order, and I'm now keen to use Jazs fish bar regularly. We waited just for few minutes till our dinner delivered to us which was absolutely delicious, authentic and reasonably priced. High quality ingredients, perfectly and freshly prepared. A really good and varied menu. I was very satisfied. Jazs fish bar is going to be a regular stop for me!

Ordered chicken pakora and it was all soggy and falling apart. Also got a chicken donner calzone but some of the meat was very hard like bone?? Which put my partner off of eating anymore

They didn’t read them comments I stated preferring sauces the donar wrap was soggy.

I rate a fish and chipshop by the quality of its battered haddock. The takeaway fish looked good and was presented in the sturdiest cardboard box I've ever seen. I always avoid vinegars and open the box or wrappings as soon as I leave the shop to avoid moisture and steam making the fish soggy however this didn't help here. The batter had a life of its own and didn't really want to be part of the fish, making it hard to eat. The fish was OK given that haddock is still slightly out of season but the batter or paste as we call it, was a bit like a soaked chamois...about the same soggy thickness and slightly crisp or dried out on one side like it had been drying out in the sun. When I snapped of a piece to eat, the slimey paste immediately parted company from the fish which disintegrated into small flakes and it was wasn't easy to be able to eat both ingredients together. Maybe if I had a spoon. I'm told by those in the know that this is caused by incorrect cooking techniques...mainly temperatures and times as well as poor battermix. Its fairly common in some areas and worse in others. This wasn't the worst, where I've had whole fillets slide out of the batter casing like a sock...but it was pretty bad sorry. Fish and batter should generally hold together and I don't rate shops too highly that can't achieve this. .

Burned pizza and missing 2 toppings which I paid for! Donner meat was stone cold and spring rolls were burnt to a crisp!!! Not happy will be phoning tomorrow when they re open

Order was 45 minutes late. Order was missing a cheeseburger. Phoned them up and they said they would send one up. 1 hour later and I'm still waiting. fed up of phoning them. Their loss as I won't be ordering again.

Food was discusting, cold and very unappetizing! Pizza was stuck to lid of box. Jacket potato chicken mayo tasted off! Had 1 bit and it went in the bin. Worst meal I've ever ate before. Had to cook for the family complete waste of money!!!

When I order from a takeaway 3 factors are essential to rate the interest takeaway. First the price , although it was my first order, the price was reasonable n i'm satisfied with that . this takeaway is Super clean. At last the freshness of ingredients are important.Also I pay attention to the freshness of igredients. and my Chicken Pakora was really freshly-baked

called them after 2 hours to find out they’ve lost the delivery driver. it kinda explains why I waited just over 3 hours for my food. but it doesn’t explain why my food arrived incomplete, burned, mostly cold and got binned eventually. after 3 hours.... no information or gratification whatsoever. strange way of doing business with a daily customer nowadays

Food quality poor. packaging was all soggy and wilting.pizza was not cooked properly and dish was overcooked. The breadcrumb dressing was burned in parts.
