Jay Dees Caribbean in Waltham Forest

Flavour lovely but could not eat the mutton as was all fat and bone no meat. Fritters greasy chicken patty ok. Dissapointed as not what the food rated on insthram. However would try again as the flavour was good so would chance again incade it was just a bad batch that day. Last but not least youn guy serving asked me three tome what i wanted charged me and forgot my plantain ☹️

Get to the point. The Jay Dees herself is so 'RUDE" to her customers. It's not the first time I have experience rudeness from this eatery and said I would not go back. This time I am not going back. Rather go Hot Pot in shepherds bush which is good or Hisbiscus on Portobello Road. You all need to learn customer service, but if its not coming from the top. I cannot expect any improvement.

I ordered stewed oxtail with rice and peas and plaintain. It was very nice,well cooked and for the amount I was given it was good value for money. It came in two separate containers and I couldn't finish it all so I was able to save it in the fridge and eat the other half later.

I just love this place, it's a treat for me to think that I'm going to be having jerk chicken and rice and peas... I had the privilege of being in Jamaica in the last few years and I ate at places famed for their jet chicken, honestly JayDees might even be better... okay look I'm not Jamaican or West Indies so what do I know about authentic ? nothing to be honest but I do know a bit about food, the chicken was tender and delicious, the source deep complex and satisfying... the rice and peas perfectly cooked and flavoured with I don't know what spice--allspcie ? the vibe within his righteous, experience all round lovely and not expensive... what a delight... the backbone of the area I love so much

Good authentic Caribbean food with friendly staff. We went for the jerk chicken rice and peas and curry goat. Generous portions and food which will not disappoint. It was only the Mac and cheese lacking in flavour for me. We will be back guys, thank you

I had a lovely experience at Jay Dees on lancaster road yesterday. The red pea soup in particular was delicious & the homemade Bella Pepper hot sauce bottle they sell is incredible! Best sauce ive ever tried!

Incredible Caribbean food. That woman who gave it 1 star review based off their coffee has to hold the L, it’s a Caribbean takeaway not Starbucks, get the curry goat next time Susan 10/10 would recommend

Came across this place during a job visit the best jerk chicken and rice by far. Place is nothing special but I’ve found the less that goes into the place the more goes into the food and it certainly does here. Il be back next time I’m anywhere near

Jay Dee's is a no frills Caribbean take away in the heart of Notting Hill. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large; food is consistently good and staff is friendly. It is our go-to spot when we don't want to bother with the cooking.

Era servida por una señora agradable y todo bien, hasta que le preguntó (presumiblemente) su precio jefe de mi café instantáneo.Quiero apoyar negocios independientes pero no tome el tratarles mal.Por £2 espero granos frescos bajo no débil café instantáneo.No volveré.

Decided to try this place as it's very local. Pretty cheap/good value and excellent flavour and quality. Will be returning! Warning! be prepared for a 70's W11 austere style shop! Very agricultural but that adds to the charm.

Después nos trasladamos a la zona año pasado de ct Earls Court me encontré limitado para elegir en la zona de Portobello. su magnífica comida pero caro o es malo. Descubrí este pequeño lugar que sirve excelente comida casera que sabe muy bien y a un precio razonable. El personal amistoso y relajado ambiente fresco.
