Newly opened with new management. Could be a good venue

Just been in for Sunday lunch, waiter said he’d come and take our order shortly! He took order from another table and then stood at the end of the bar doing nothing we waited ten minutes and left. Suffice to say we will not be going back!

great pub, staff are lovely & friendly, has a fantastic atmosphere, & within walking distance for me, shame it didn't make use of kitchen area to serve food 🙂🙂 now it's 😔 to learn the pubs last day will be new Yr eve, i do hope some of the staff will be hired again when it reopen in the summer hopefully, & hope beer pumps are installed, i wish all the best for 2023 to pixie & her fantastic staff, you will be missed dearly, xx

This has been my favourite place since Pixie and Nic have been running it. Such a friendly and welcoming place. I've made a lot of good friends and been to some great events here. We are all really sad to hear that all this will change at the end of the year as the brewery has other plans for the place. It will certainly be the end of a wonderful era 😢

Dreadful staff! Especially the stroppy girl with the blond hair who spoke to me like I was a child despite the fact I'm probably 20 years older than her. No beer on draught. I mean come on? Full of very drunk people. Very strange place. Wouldn't go back.

En realidad, mi evento no tuvo lugar debido a Covid, sin embargo, la comunicación con el restaurante fue terrible, ignoraron los correos electrónicos y fueron extremadamente groseros en numerosas ocasiones. ¡Es impactante! Parece que en realidad no quieren que la gente celebre eventos en el lugar, a pesar de que la publicidad es un lugar que se especializa en eventos. ¡No reserve! !

Una vez en la calle, he estado en el bar William Morris después de ver la oferta en Groupon y pensé en probarlo. Leí algunas críticas muy variadas, así que no esperaba demasiado, sin embargo, me sorprendió mucho que fuéramos como una familia de 10 y tuvimos una velada muy agradable. Me encantó la música en vivo después de nuestra comida, ya que pensé que iba a ser un DJ. Definitivamente volveremos por más.

Absolute gem of a pub in Walthamstow! There is so much character & spirit here, we felt really welcomed and at home! All the staff were very friendly and warm. We attended a Special Christmas Lunch and we were blown away by what an amazing time we had! The food was incredible, easily the best curried goat & jerk chicken I have ever tasted in my life! The meat was so tender, juicy and full of spice! We could not believe that we were allowed to eat as much as we wanted! We were completely stuffed afterwards! The wine included in our deal was of very high quality and they were very generous with our glass sizes! Fantastic time! I would definitely recommend and come back for another Sunday Brunch!

I first encountered this venue 2 weeks ago at my cousins birthday party and was pleasantly surprised. Lovely space very sociable and the food(Caribbean cuisine) was fabulous. Food was nice guests enjoyed it. Had the whole Restaurant. Was upset when said no take away after I paid per head for the food after all if was mine. We all had a great time but did get the taste before had but got wine went had a visit.

We had our daughter birthday party at this venue on Saturday. It is a beautiful venue very spacious and clean. The food is excellent and the staff and chief on the day was fantastic, very helpful and supportive. That everyone had an enjoyable time. I would like to say thank you to the staff and chief. I booked a table for a party of 8 to attend a so-called Theme night, which has been advertised as a Soul Night for the first Friday every month. I received email confirmation of the booking. Only to turn up and be told we cannot come in as there's a private party booking and the manager Laurence was nowhere to be found. There was another couple in the same predicament who booked via Groupon and had to leave with the Groupon voucher purchased for a birthday celebration. Don't waste your time going here.

The food is not too bad. However, the owner extremely unfriendly, poor customer service and I would not visit there ever again. As I said food was not bad and the chef tried is best to salvage the evening. This has got to be the most unpleasant customer experience ever. My advice - don't waste your time!!!!

Could be much better if the club was licensed til 2 or 3 am. It is only licensed until 1am. I only go there because of DJ very good and my friends. The bar need to make effort to put variety of drinks and repair leaking ceiling and upgrade the place . It is a real shame the place has real potential

What a dive. Never again would I return. Bad customer service from manager was awful and most definately wouldnt return even for a freebie.

Went here for a family birthday party,no draught beer,all bottled lager,few bottles of cider,place was packed,two people behind bar only one knew what she was doing,by 9.30ish they had run out of all beer,no mixers,wine etc.on the only plus side,food was great,Jerk Chicken,rice,salad.Very hot inside so opted to sit outside,this was okay till it got dark,no lights.Staff not at all friendly,good disco but a so called pub with no beer on hottest day of the year doesn't say much,would not recommend this place to anyone,rant over.

We made it a good night as we're party people who like to enjoy ourselves

Nice venue & tasty food. The soul night is a gr8 idea & very reasonable pricing. Reason for 4 stars found it difficult to relax get into vibe with so many children running around. Worth remembering most people come out to get a break from their kids & do not want to socialise with other peoples kids!!!!!

Aweful, for dinner and soul night. Singled out for intimidation. Attempted to talk to (Lawrence) about his treatment of us, too arrogant to listen to us. We are 60's born and when asked to go outside to talk to him he actually thought we were going to fight so we abandoned it. Then he said "soon as we walked in we are not his kind if people!" Unsure why received this appalling treatment. Food not bad,staff lovely but manager has no charm,charisma and ruined what could of been a reasonable night out.

Waited a long time for food, but was ok when it arrived

I had a delivery from this place and when it arrived the boxes were soaked in sauce so were soggy allowing all the sauce to seep out so I was delivered a plastic bag full of sauce... zero for presentation. The goat curry was a box full of bones with a small amount of meat.. Why would you dish up a box of bones and expect a customer to be happy... The jerk chicken was dry and average at best, the meat was pink so not cooked very well... The rice and peas was nice which allowed us to at least have an average dinner! definitely won’t be ordering from here again.. this place is not prepped for delivery... FYI strongly advise plastic rather than polystyrene for packaging!!!

I brought 4 'wowcher' coupons to treat 3 friends who help me out as I have a disability. I had high hopes as i boasted the £29 each coupon entitled us to a cocktail on entry a buffet and it was going to be a soul night. Just the sort of music we all love. Apparently the usual cost for such a night was £62.50p each. I called and made my reservation and felt as though that wouldn't be a good night for me. I said it suited me fine and that was okay. I forgot what time I had booked out table for so called the venue only to get a recorded message that said it was only an information line and if you have a question to email them!!!! A worry as we were due to be there that evening. I am still waiting for them to email or call me back. We arrived at 7.30pm hoping it was the right time and immediately shown to the first table inside the door which has a little blackboard on it saying reserved for Bev and 4 people. Nice touch. I went around the rear of the table and the chair was an upright armchair but it was so low I was mouth level with the table. Not ideal for eating. We were pointed to the buffet area and told to help ourselves. I didn't have the soup but my guests did and assured me it was the nicest soup they have ever tasted. I chose the jerk chicken, rice and peas, coleslaw and salad. I enjoyed the rice and peas. The chicken was moist but not proper jerk. it wasn't crispy or hot and spicy. Te coleslaw was shop brought. I expected it to be home made. The salad was fine. We weren't offered a cocktail so I asked for it. The lady told me it was a gin based cocktail which suited us all fine. It arrived in a drinking chocolate mug. I tasted mine and couldn't drink it. I couldn't taste gin instead it tasted like cheap lemsip. Awful and none of us drank it. We were offered pudding which was a slice of cake. Nothing caribbean about that. The entertainment was very strange. A lady and a man were singing but have the music and words on their iPads. A couple of people got up and sang a few tunes. It was not a soul night but karaoke. The atmosphere was really strange. It was more like being in someones front room for a family party. There was a 90th birthday being held there I was wondering if we were the only paying guests. We made the most of the evening. We sang along etc. The only singer in tune was a man who did a Van Morrision number 'have I told you lately' Nothing soul like. Never worth £62.50. Not even worth £29.The jerk wasn't authentic enough for me. The desert was a big disappointment and the entertainment I expected to be on par. How can you offer so much and provide so little.

Nice food, the chef is nice and friendly.

We had a look at a few places and decided on here because we could have the whole place to ourselves, rather than hiring a function room. That worked out to be a great idea because it meant we were surrounded by friends and family. The food was spot on. A delicious Jerk Buffet. The guys behind the bar worked flat out, but were so polite with our guests. The Patio area out the back was a bonus. They actually advised us to spend less than what we had originally budgeted, which was very much welcome because everyone was happy with what we laid on.

This was the perfect place for my 50th because we had it exclusively to ourselves. The other options we looked at mostly offered function rooms. This felt like we were throwing our own house party, except we didn't have to cook or clean up afterwards. The Jerk Buffet was undoubtedly the highlight along with the band we booked. The staff were very helpful on the night.

I’m so glad we made the effort to come here for Burns Night! Candles blazing, pipers playing and just an all round brilliant night. We even had the haggis being blessed in a lovely Scottish ceremony involving the piper.

Pipers, a choir, a fantastic three course meal and hundreds raised for charity. What’s not to like! The guy blessing the haggis was absolutely brilliant. A beautiful place!

Held my 50th birthday party here and we could not have found a better venue. Once we had booked they invited us to their Jazz Lunch to try the food and decide on menu choices. We had our wedding here in June 2018 and I must recommend this place as a fantastic venue for anyone needing a space to hold a party. Unlike most things in Walthamstow, it isn't overpriced and the decor and food on offer are lovely

We had our Christmas Party here and it ended super fast. The food wasn’t great, the cook didn’t have enough or the right ingredients to make a Christmas pudding. All in all I think if you are in good company this is a good place for a drink.

I Attended this bar on the 3RD Sunday Of The Month Gospel event in September day/ evening an incedent happened and I sustained an injury. And a member of the staff was very rude, and not helpful at all. The owners have no concern for their guests wellfare what so ever ! I will NEVER be attending this establishment again ! And I will not be recommending it to family or friends.

I went to The William Morris with friends last night for their launch night of the 3rd friday of the month event. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was great and the music was excellent!! We had our wedding reception here - plenty of room for 50 people. The landlord was very welcoming and got things off to a good start. Also Bernadette and Grace did a beautiful job on the room. Food was great, and all in all people had a very pleasant and relaxing time.

If you value your sanity do not buy anything from here, ordered food tonight, first time ever and let’s just say upon delivery and closing my front door the stupid cheap paper bag gave way and 3 meals covered my wall and floor, upon ringing the restaurant my flat mate was greeting by the rudest most disgusting man ever, telling us we have to call Deliveroo and complain, and he won’t be compensating us for the meals or mess created or replacing the meals cut off the phone. So I decided to call back and after being told I’m stupid and a slew of things I can’t repeat, he proceeded to prattle on about the 1000s of people who buy his food and I can’t do anything to his business reputation! I’ve logged on to Facebook and can see he has 10 x 1 star ratings I wish I saw before ordering. I’d also like to add that From what I witnessed of the food this is not authentic Caribbean food the garden peas in the rice would indicate this, and for jerk chicken to be authentic it needs to be cooked on a jerk pan which it wasn’t. Boycott this place at all costs.

I have eaten here a few times and I can highly recommend it. It is very relaxing and the food is amazing.

Went with a Groupon voucher, had the 3 course jerk chicken lunch. Jerk chicken was unreal! So tasty. Starter and dessert were ok, wine was unlimited (on the voucher) but not great. Service was top. We went on the last Sunday of the month and there was a live jazz band. Overall, would recommend.
