This place is so expensive and offers a very poor experience for the money. Hardly any cats to be seen - perhaps 6 - and all of them sleeping. My sister and i took our two girls (age 9 and 11) - 55 minutes cost us almost £100 including a drink each. No cat cuddling as you're not allowed to pick them up and anyway they were asleep. No chat with the staff, no stories or info on the cats - staff were passive and lacking in any energy or friendliness. It felt like a cynical money making exercise. The decor is drab so it's not even a nice place to hang out.

Such an amazing little cafe! The food was exceptionally good (triple cheese vegan sandwich) . The cats were so calm and the aesthetic really makes it pleasurable for the humans whilst keeping it calm for the cats. The lady serving with curly black hair was providing details on each of the cats back and forth made it that much better as you can tell she really cares. Paying for the hour and a half is really worth it, as it takes some time to get comfortable with with going over to the cats if other people are there but being a cat cafe, everyone is likeminded with the love of cats. They provide little toys to play with the cats and I spent a long time playing with ‘the king’Maine coon. Well worth it and will refer on. Well done and thank you!

Booked as a treat for my girlfriend. We've been to the main cat lounge before, so we went for the kittens lounge this time. Having misremembered the booking time, we arrived 10 minutes late, but were nevertheless promptly admitted to the den of about a dozen kittens, some of whom were close to 'graduating' to the adult cats' lounge. The kittens seemed much more active and interested than the adults in our last visit, with a mixture of heavy sleepers and playful sprites, one of whom regularly made a bid for freedom by lurking at the door, waiting for people to walk in or out. Had a couple of kittens nuzzling around me, one sat on my lap for a while, and another snuggled up behind me while I wasn't looking. My girlfriend had a couple briefly entranced with some of the various cat toys available. The feline experience is unpredictable and can sometimes disappoint, particularly with the more aloof adults, but Java Whiskers is a wonderful, quiet place to sit and de-stress, with the occasional bonus of that one of the resident cats may deem one worthy of their discerning attention.

Myself and 3 other family members went to the Great Portland Street branch this evening. Each one of us had the very best experience and will be 100% sending word of mouth to family & friends to go & especially to this branch. You can very much see that the works here care very much for the cats & Kittens. We loved having a great chat with Daniel who told us how cheeky or shy some of the Kittens can be. Would like to thank Amy, Issy & Daniel for a wonderful time & you will be definitely seeing our faces again. Thank you for making our time there tonight really enjoyed.

Went with family as part of a Christmas present. We went to the kitten room at Marylebone. The kittens were lovely and had their own space and it felt like a good environment for them. Love the fact that they are fostered and you can then adopt them. It is pricey but if it supports this plan I’m happy. We didn’t have anything to eat but saw others having cream teas which looked good. Staff were fine, no issues at all. The only reason I havent given it five stars is the price of entry on top of prices for food and drinks but as I say if the money goes to rehoming and the scratching post charity this takes the sting out if it and the cats seemed happy.

Am leaving a review here as customer service ignored my email. Honestly would leave zero review score it that was an option My partner and I visited Java Whiskers White city cafe at 330pm Saturday 20th January 2024. Honestly it was very concerning and disappointing to witness at least 4 possibly 5 children (about 10 years old) each seemingly from a different family group tormenting, worrying and harassing the cats in the cafe. They were shoving the toys on sticks (with bells and fluffy bits on) and their fingers right in the cats faces. They were unrelenting in bothering the cats. We saw five people putting hands and toys into a cat igloo (nesting box). Also prodding at the cats who were trying to relax on the high shelves Maybe we should have booked a different time slot during the week The videos on your facebook suggest a relaxed snuggly time to wind down with the cats. Instead it felt more like an ill mannered brats birthday party. Our poor experience and the fact we actually paid for it aside I was genuinely worried for the cats well being Not recommended for cat lovers as was nothing like the promotional videos and information on Facebook and Java whiskers own website

Booked afternoon tea via Groupon. Friendly staff, cater to vegans. Appears clean, cats seem to be well looked after if a little tired of humans!! Humans - please take note of the house rules and leave the sleeping cats alone! There were a few hisses at those disturbing the sleeping cats!! - lol! Tea is served in the adult cat room. Great concept and experience. The only slight gripe is that 1 hour timeslot could be extended to 90 mins as food arrived 1/2 hour into visit and we wanted to eat before interacting with cats (for hygiene reasons). Plenty of food. We had to take some of the food away with us in a 'doggie/catty' bag. Recommend. We already have cats but would point anyone looking to adopt here.

This was overall heartbreaking and disappointing. I was sat on a chair and small table. No sofa or anywhere you can pet the cats. Kids as young as six are allowed free reign in the small room, throwing toys and strings in the cats face, when I tried to sit down to stroke a cat and 6 year old would shake a toy in the cats face until it got uncomfortable enough to move. I got hit a few times but kids throwing the toys around and screaming. No staff were in the room to ensure the cats wellbeing. When I tried to raise my concerns to the staff members after I walked out early about the small kids and cats being terrorised - I was advised it was a “business decision” to allow kids in. Clearly more worried about the business than the cats wellbeing. It’s a great concept and I’m glad these cats have been rescued. Hopeful the money they are making is going directly to helping more cats.

The cafe is clean and comfortable and a lovely environment for the cats. They’ve thought of everything as the cats have lots of space to move around. Hope you open more of these cafes such a great idea. Can’t wait to return to see the kitten cafe

Visited Java Whiskers in Westfield previously and had the best time. So it was disappointing not to have the same experience at the Marylebone branch. Staff were not friendly, whereas they were amazing at the Westfield one, they didn't really acknowledge us or interact with us. The kitten room stank! One small litter tray in the corner of the room. The room is small and doesn't have the same feel as the Westfield one. Kittens were not interested in us or anyone else at all, probably due to all the pet remedy mellowing them out.

Tourist trap - avoid. Went there with my 6y old daughter with booking 2 h afternoon tea at £70 + £15 parking . When you book you are not given an option to buy tickets for anyone under 10y old and checkout states that your kid should be at least 6 y old(hence you would think 6 to 9 do not need tickets). After an hour drive on my daughter's actual birthday and her dressed cat style and full of excitement on the spot the staff told me that particular day kids need be at least 10y old and that I should have known that(other have complained about the same). I had 2 hour slot so asked if they can help in anyway (my daughter sits in me, other shorter experience if helpful to them , pay for additional ticket etc - surely to serve me afternoon tea there must be enough table space). The staff made zero effort to look for options and you got the feeling they are just keen to send you off with the amazing offer to book you some other time and that you trek back to the place again. Tourist trap alarm bells should have rung from the location - Marylebone, and as others have said not family friendly as if they were keen to help they could have - whether a kid is 6 or 10yo makes zero difference for a cafe or cats.
