Si hubiera una opción para cero estrellas me lo habría dado. 1 estrella parece generoso. Mi madre de 70 años visitó la ubicación de Blythe Valley hoy, y lo que me dijo me ha dejado sorprendido y horrorizado. Después de pedir un envoltorio, un pastel, una botella de agua y un café con leche grande, ella cortésmente le preguntó al servidor si él sería tan amable de simplemente llevar el café afuera para ella, ya que estaba sosteniendo todo lo demás y no tenía una mano libre de repuesto. Una simple petición se podría pensar. No en Java... a pesar de que no había nadie más en la reina en este momento. El servidor se negó a ayudar afirmando que no ofrecen servicio de mesa. Para mí es evidente que tampoco ofrecen servicio al cliente, ya que la pequeña solicitud habría tomado solo cuestión de minutos para completar, pero el servidor no podía importar menos y repetidamente se negó a ofrecer el más mínimo gesto de amabilidad. Puedo decirles ahora que no volverá a este establecimiento y preferiría ir a la máquina Costa en la cooperativa, ya que lo más probable es que obtenga un mejor servicio de una máquina que este servidor.

Lovely coffee and surroundings but and this is a big but staff are not interested in the customers our drinks were left on the side for a good few minutes before we realised they were ours !!!! Table service is a simple solution if we had allergies how would we know which is which really sad but a few tweaks and some staff training to be happy chatty and maybe even a smile this place would be great oh and lights need a clean !!

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! No welcome, didn’t even ask what I would like, they just stood there chatting occasionally looking up until I asked if they were serving. Then after ordering told to wait over there with a point to the end of the counter. Then someone dropped a coffee at the end and said cappuccino without looking up then walked off. is this the way of business now??? Never will return to this place again

I've wanted to try Dalgona coffee for ages, so I was so excited they had it here (they even had other styles in addition to the original one I tried). It was delicious and there were other types of coffee I've never had on the menu too- and I drink quite a lot of coffee! Also really liked the area and the general space this place occupied, it had lots of character.

The coffee is unbelievably good , and the pastries delicious. Nice atmosphere and good location. My new fave cafe!

This coffee shop is much larger inside than it appears from the outside and there is also some outside seating. I enjoyed a very good quality flat white coffee but it certainly wasn’t one of the cheapest coffees in Birmingham.

Whenever I'm in Birmingham I make a point of picking up a coffee from Java Roastery. They use superb coffee blends and their well trained and friendly staff take a pride in producing an excellent drink, every time! Really not worth bothering with any of the other coffee shops once you've had a coffee from Java. The ambience is calm and relaxed in their attractive Listed building which has been tastefully fitted out. Definitely worth a visit!

I haven’t had the opportunity to visit the Java lounge for quite some time and therefore was looking to my visit 14th August. They use to do a pretty good selection of gluten free cakes etc, but when I enquired about the options today I was informed they had 1 slice of chocolate cake. Although I was disappointed I decided to have the cake and a late. The cake and the coffee were great although I had my doubts as to whether the cake was actually gluten free! Within half an hour I knew that sadly this cake was not gluten free. If the staff weren’t sure I would have much rather they were honest and say so as this caused me some discomfort throughout the day. Sadly I will now be looking for another coffee shop.

You'll find there's a lot of people with laptop's here, it has plenty of room to set up for a few hours while you work. There are plugs dotted around and I've never had a bad experience here.

Poor experience. The lady at the till offers masks out but charges you for them on the bill without notification of price. Mocha tasted weak and poor in quality. Coffee brownie tasted horrible. Regular coffee size is very small. Avoid this place.

Not happy with the tuna melt panini , very small barely any filling and bread soft , over priced for what you get also

One of my favourite coffee shops in Birmingham and my go to for coffee at lunchtime everyday. They have a really nice blend of coffee and the service is always quick and friendly. It does seem pricey at first but when you compare to other coffee shops in Birmingham its really not pricey plus the quality is really good

This independent coffee bar is very cozy, but charging £2.20+0.45 for a double espresso seems a bit overpriced, isn't it?

This might be one of the coziest coffee shops in Birmingham City Centre. The quality of the coffee and the service are excellent.

I pop in here on a Wednesday after work. The coffee is lovely and they do an amazing plant based rose, raspberry and chocolate brownie. The third time I visited the girl remembered my order without me having to ask.. Lovely staff too

Have visited three times during our recent break to Birmingham. Had breakfast twice and am afternoon coffee. We loved the atmosphere and openness off the cafe. Coconut latte was there best I've ever had. The milk shake and summer berry cooler was fab too.

My partner took me for coffee and cake and I really enjoyed both the rare and the ambience, so much better than the chains.

El personal era amable y tienen la opción habitual de bebidas y aperitivos. Un moderno interior funky con algunos periódicos para navegar.

Trabajo en el centro de la ciudad de Birmingham y con frecuencia he pasado el Java Lounge, que se encuentra frente al Starbucks que visito con frecuencia. Como mi carga de trabajo para la semana era excesiva, decidí trabajar un sábado y no me gustaba sentarme en la oficina. En consecuencia, me encontré en Java Lounge, ya que siempre estoy dispuesto a apoyar a las cafeterías independientes. Anticipé que la cafetería sería más grande y me sorprendió la cantidad relativamente limitada de asientos. Sin embargo, tenía un ambiente hogareño y el menú parecía extenso. Staying in the Broad Street place area for a couple of days and cannot stand national chain coffee houses. Jumped on TA and walked the 15 mins to this lovely coffee shop. Cool music, lovely ambiance and excellent coffee. The friendly staff are informative and give you a real sense of taking care of clients. This place is not to be missed if you want decent coffee.

This is my go to place if ever I need a coffee fix. A great variety of drinks coupled with a nice relaxed atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends. 10/10 recommend to everyone, it really is faultless here

Really enjoyed our lunch here - all had sandwich-type meal, and the tea and coffee was reasonably priced. Been here twice now but this was the first time eating - would return and defo recommend

Nice venue and good vegan banana bread but the coffee was weak. If your shtick is the coffee then serving insipid coffee is a poor effort.

The cakes are moist and tasty. Good coffee. The place is a bit sofocating. You are sitting on your neighbour's knees. No privacy, no intimacy and no cosy feeling.

Ordered extra strong Americano and it was medium strength. My partner ordered a cappuccino that came out Luke warm so had to order another one.Cake selection looked nice hence the photo. The place looks beautiful.

Stopped for coffee and cake after visiting the Dippy exhibition next door. Coffee was very nicely judged (flavour, crema and bitterness), unlike the chains, while the cakes were excellent. Son had a milkshake which was equally top-notch.

I couldn't give this place more than a 3star as I always base my reviews on places I can eat at.

There are so many great independent coffee shops in Birmingham, but Java is my all-time favourite. Wonderful coffee, excellent pastries and cakes, too. Highly recommended.

Found this lovely independent coffee bar whilst walking in rain. Beautiful decor and fabulous coffees in lovely mugs and delicious cakes. Staff all happy and great customer service. So glad went in here than Starbucks across the road.

I know this is a coffee shop and compared to Starbucks across the road it has character. The desserts on display were okay but none looked very appetizing. I got a sandwich and it was okay for the price I paid but thought it was overally expensive and the service was laid back. The atmosphere was okay but it's small and crowded.

Lovely, relaxed place to sit enjoying a coffee. A choice of coffee strength and drinks prepared by staff and brought to your table. I recommend calling in if you are passing.

This beautiful Grade One listed building was pointed out on a" Positively Birmingham Walking Tour " so we went for coffee at the end of the tour. Very busy but such a really friendly atmosphere. Lots of choices and comfy seats.

I’ve walked past a few times to get to Nero’s around the corner but no more! Sunday morning macchiato and croissant with jam served to my table while I chill out to music, which is cool. Water served with the coffee too.

I popped in as an alternative to Starbucks and was immediately impressed to see ‘espresso’ as a group of drinks on the menu. I’m not a fan of espresso drinks and if a place claims to be a coffee shop, they should know how to make coffee without using the big silver machines. So initially impressed by the decor and espresso menu I asked... do you sell filter? Joy of joys you do! And I was asked what type - you even had a choice, this was no Starbucks filter. Then sadly came the cost £3.45... after the initial shock of a filter costing more than an espresso based, foam, syrup thing I realised and hoped this might be a proper filter, worthy of a Colombian coffee shop where they weigh the coffee and pour the right amount of hot water and let it drip... it could be a chemex or aeropress - this could be the holy Mecca of non espresso coffee in Brum. I waited with hope... and saw a big standard cup filter be used. Ok so for £3.45 this is going to taste amazing... I waited with hope. And yeah you guessed it - it was disappointing. It might have been good for say £1 or even 0.99p like the pret filter. But for £3.45... not a chance, it was slightly bitter. So overall Java is just another pretentious overpriced coffee shop who doesn’t have a clue about any types of coffee that the big evil silver machine doesn’t make and likes to rip their customers off with over priced coffee. Even a bog standard filter machine and some very decently sourced ground coffee wouldn’t cost much but we have succumb to thinking coffee should be fancy and over priced in this country and Java is just another place that encourages this myth. I went in at 0830 on a weekday and was the only customer, I would love to support local business but I can’t afford to at those prices, looked like no one else could afford to either. Back to Starbucks next week.

My friends and I come here quite often and are never disappointed! The coffee and cakes are all delicious and fairly priced, the staff are friendly, and there's a really cool vibe. Love it!

El café no era muy especial, tal vez un poco débil. El té viene en tazas en vez de ollas, lo cual es una pena. Las tazas y los platillos realmente no se unen, que era un fastidio. El personal era lo suficientemente amable.

I have been to the Blythe valley java lounge and I must say the staff are so helpful I regularly attend when walking my dog .

Really nice coffee, good ambience (as Mickey Flanagan would say), carrot cake was delicious (I was told). My friend recommended the raspberry and cucumber iced tea so I will try that next time.

En respuesta a mi propia pregunta un rotundo sí hay algo especial en la combinación que destaca Java para mí eclipsa tiendas café tanto comercial e independiente que he visitado. Alejando de la ejemplar del café, el ambiente y el lugar es fantástico. Su estratégicamente para atender tanto a los viandantes por y para muchas de las oficinas en los alrededores. Si se basan en Colmore Row y no han sido aún donde has estado escondiendo! Seguir haciendo lo que están haciendo!

I'm a fan of independent coffee lounges and I love this place. It has it's own identity and the coffee is fab.

Siempre me gusta apoyar cafeterías independientes en contraposición a las marcas más grandes como Costa, Starbucks, etc. . . . Salón de Java era lo que necesitaba. Buena ubicación. Bueno de moka. Wifi gratis (aunque no el más fuerte). Es muy cómoda. El personal es amable. Horarios de apertura son perfectas y para todos. Sin duda volveré siempre que necesito un momento para relajarse. Una de las mejores tiendas de café en Birmingham.

Este es un café regularmente frecuente. El café es excelente y el personal es muy servicial y amable. Ha subido de precio recientemente y está más concurrido de lo que solía ser, con gente de colmatación mesas en sus laptops mientras acunado el mismo tazón durante períodos prolongados de tiempo. La decoración es preciosa y tiene un ambiente agradable. El wifi también es buena. La música no es ruido, para mí es música de fondo, pero cada uno a su propia. Las desventajas son que el inodoro no tiene ventana, así huele el huésped anterior tienden a vagar (! ) y las tortas y pasteles son casi siempre la misma. El menú no cambia mucho, tienen calabazas en otoño y un par de copas de navidad, pero por sus iguales.

El salón no es muy grande por estándares modernos café y se llena rápidamente. Pero vale la pena probar porque el café es muy agradable y el personal son muy amables.

Esta es una cafetería que hace todo bien. Personal amable y mi avellana moka incluso superar mejor los esfuerzos de mi anterior favorito café urbano, era tan cremosa! Mi pollo a la barbacoa panini era muy sabrosa y satisfactoria así que sólo £7 por un sabroso almuerzo. Un agradable lugar para relajarse o trabajar en su ordenador portátil.

Working on Colmore row is made even better by this place being doors away from me. Staff are always amazing, and the drinks are always on point. In my opinion better than Starbucks.

Visitamos este fabuloso pequeño salón independiente de café con un amigo recientemente. Tiene un ambiente relajado, un delicioso café y allí parecía ser un montón de lindas tartas y traybakes (aunque yo no tengo nada para comer). Un bonito lugar para relajarse y pasar un relajante hora o así.

Detenido en aquí una cerveza en el camino hacia el museo. Está a un corto paseo de la estación de New Street, el museo está cerca y así está el antiguo ayuntamiento de la ciudad y los edificios del Consejo.

Popped in here on a regular basis when in Birmingham on business. Would not go past it now. Would highly recommend.

I like my coffee, I know a good single blend when I find it as I don't have anything in it to adulterated the taste. Java Lounge provides the drinker who cares about these things "coffee's actual taste" with a SAL treat right opposite the global coffee adulterer itself, nice irony! Well done team, really happy experience for the discerning coffee drinker

So nice to see that what was Hudson's is now a coffee shop that is owned by someone who cares about your experience. Decent coffee, pleasant staff who bring your drink to your table, comfortable seats, wifi, USB and 240V sockets under the seats, half decent acoustics. None of the soul sapping corporate shortcuts of the big chains.

Qué joya de una cafetería. El personal es increíble y era tan buena que nos metimos en un par de veces para decir que nos dejaron sin palabras cuando el personal incluso se acordaba de lo que pedimos ahora que es lo que yo llamo el servicio. Perfect place to chill, have a really good coffee and enjoy time with friends. It stays open past many coffee shops' normal closing hours, which is ideal if you want to relax somewhere before going out for dinner.

My first visit to Java lounge and I enjoyed a good cup of tea my son said his coffee was good too there was a selection of some interesting cakes the cafe has a nice friendly atmosphere varied selection of seating it makes a lovery change from the chains

The atmosphere is nice. I had a chocolate muffin and tea. My wife had a rasberry cake and that looked as well. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and we will be back again.

Pedimos una segunda café y chocolate brownie, que aparentemente era sin gluten (no nos dimos cuenta hasta después), un poco pequeño y demasiado empalagoso para mi amigo y I.

Java Lounge es un negocio independiente y local y esto se refleja en la atención de calidad y servicio. El personal fue cálido, acogedor y divertido. El café y el té eran excelentes y la música era genial! Hay buena, tarifa conexión wi-fi y muchos enchufes para cargar los dispositivos. Disfrutamos mucho de nuestra estancia en Java Lounge y volveremos. Ahora es nuestra primera elección de lugares de café en el centro de Birmingham.
