I love going to different places for great smelling plus fading coffee but l don't think Java is for me. Impersonal service plus average coffee with a poor ambience all round.

Outstanding coffee, food, and atmosphere! The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The coffee is very high quality and delicious!. I had the breakfast roll, and it was that tasty, I had to order another! Highly recommended!

Always love coming here on a Saturday for a coffee and chill before the gym. Always nice staff comfortable seating and great atmosphere. The one negative would be sometimes the toilet gets smelly and seeps into the main sitting area.

Best train station cafe in the country

Dropped by this cute cafe with a friend. The hot drinks we ordered were absolutely delightful and the staff were friendly and professional. We shall be returning.

Great coffee and fab service! I’ve been passing this place so many times and could never find a minute to pop in for a coffee. I wish I could come here sooner! I am a big coffee lover so I’m picky with flavours. This place made it perfect with perfect milk temperature. They also mix different mushroom powders such as lions made, reishi etc into your coffee for extra charge, but I’m loving this idea!! Thank you for great and fast service:)

Nice little cafe with excellent coffee and friendly service. Definitely coming back here again. Note: the location showing on Google Maps is wrong at the time of this posting. The cafe located right outside the Oxford Road Train Station, next to Gourmet Coffee Bar and Kitchen.

Actually my favourite coffee in Manchester ... So much so that my partner and I visited twice in one day.

Very nice cafe but absolutely spoiled with a poor customer service. It is shocking and sad that someone (male) can be so unpleasant and condescending. That could of been our everyday coffee place but am sure I will not go back.

Two people working on the coffee bar, took ages to get served as they did not stop chatting to each other. When i did get served, he made my coffees then slammed them down on the counter. Coffee everywhere. Asked for another plate and he said "its only a spill" with a lot of sass. I explained i don't want to be covered in coffee. He then forgot my croissants. Coffee is dead bitter. Don't bother x

Friendly service. A nice hidden gem near Oxford Road train station. A great place to stop in for a tea or coffee before you get a train.

Must of Manchester! Essential. Head in grab a beatiful coffee, crisp soft drink, or train beer. I always buy a set of Cannolis each time I pass, delicous little treats perfect for helping make someones day. Also best spot for relaxing and watching the world go by.

I found this place in search of good coffee and a full english breakfast after a night out. the food is heavenly like i thought ahh just a greasy fry up.. NO the herbs, the flavours best breakfast I've had in a long time, the coffee is on point so nice! The atmosphere is really chilled out and welcoming. the service is second to none.

Perfect place when getting off the train, staff are lovely, great atmosphere and not too packed.

This is the best coffee place close to Oxford road, you literally pass it as you walk down. Service is always quick. They sell cannolis, pastries and sandwiches. Also wine and beer, and nutropics (?) if that’s your thing. There are seats inside and a single toilet for customers.

Coffee machine is never ready when it's supposed to be open on every occasion I have tried to get coffee.

Slow service, and unfortunately burnt coffee. The staff seemed indifferent to producing high quality service and while I did turn up in the early afternoon after a morning service, I don't think the cleanliness of their clothes and the general cafe seating area was really up to a good enough standard. A cafe that clearly relies on being close to the station too much.

Arrived at 9.48 to be told there would be a 25 minute wait for the coffee machine to warm up!! They opened over 2 hours ago! Think someone had a late night and was late for work 🤔

Disappointingly wasn't ready to serve as per hours specified here or on the door. Waited until around 10am for coffee, then no food until after 10am so went hungry and just had a coffee as needed to make a train. Wish I had gone elsewhere but no time. Not a good Sunday morning reliance.

Had my first date with my now Fiance here years ago, it was beautiful then and it's still great now! The coffee is delightful and the cakes and other sweet treats are truly worth it!

The quality of the coffee was good but not up to the high standard I'm used to elsewhere in this small local chain. Staff were in a world of their own and not particularly work focussed. The outlet in Victoria station is much better and more professional and generally better kept. I'd hazard that the coffee in the outlet in Victoria is the best in Manchester city centre.

Despite the difficulties that Covid brings, this place represents everything that Manchester does when it’s at its best. Great friendly service with humanity and patience fronting up lovely food and coffee. Today’s staff member relaxed us and made my little girl feel like a valued customer. Class. No pretentiousness, just humility and care. Good work!!!

Excellent oasis close to Deansgate Station. Unlike other outlets we tried that day in Manchester this cafe actually welcomed customers. How's that for a bright idea?

Just outside Oxford Rd station. Wonderful coffee.. much needed after a draughty 156 on a cold day from Lime Street.

The most bitter tasting capaccino I have ever had so mystifying why this place has such good reviews.

Latte was really tasty, we also tasted the Pistachio and Salted caramel canolis which were delicious.

We were given a lovely Saturday morning welcome here, really friendly and delicious coffee and muffin. I had the famous flat white and it was great.

Had a flat white and a cannolo. It's the best flat white I've had anywhere. It was delightful drinking it. It's only a very small caffe, can only a handful of people but it's near a station so on the go it's ok. If you have time to kill sit outside have a coffee or perhaps an amstell which they had on tap when I went in.

Really loved this place. A little hole in the wall place near the train station. Very quiet on a Tuesday afternoon and open later than most other coffee shops in the area. Some delicious pastries and variety of drinks hot or iced. They also had milk alternatives which was great! Potential lack of parking but quite easy to get to on foot. The indoor is probably not accessible but there are outdoor tables to enjoy the nice weather

Back and Java Bar retains its specialness. Tonight - Moldovan Chardonnay and it was a delight along with the amazing service. Give local your custom.

Enjoyed a lovely flat white coffee with a lemon and a hazelnut canoli. Convenient location next to the Oxford Road Manchester train station and near the university. Outdoor seating, so convenient for social distancing for to covid 19. Would recommend.

Appallingly slow service. Poor lad may have been a beginner, but the manager would not help him out despite a queue forming.

A lovely little suprise. After an early start and no breakfast this lovely little cafe was the first establishment that came into view on leaving the station. Fabulous coffee good bacon bagel and great service.

Best coffee in Manchester...probably!

This is one of my favourite coffee houses in the country. The coffee is really good and the snack food is excellent (try the pies for example) This place has stood the test of time and I always look forward to going to Java when I visit Manchester. It's an interesting shape inside and the staff are lovely. Top place!

Advertising that they sell wine and beer on hand written signs outside. Go inside, grab two bottles of black sheep, put it in the counter. Waited for someone to actually come to serve us. Started to ring up a bag of crisps and then tell us that they don't serve alcohol until 11. This is a chain that advertises itself as a café bar, has several franchises at busy train stations but apparently can't afford a proper license even though they advertise themselves as a bar.

The coffee and tiffin were nice. However the staff were unhelpful and a bit rude.

Really good coffee. However the owner tried to call me out for having an affair! I go every other morning with my girlfriend. But I met my female friend there and the owner commented "oh with another woman this morning". This is absolutely unexceptable behaviour. My new Mrs would have been hurt and humiliated if the owner had said that while she was there and not my mate who happens to be a woman.
