Jasmine in Fife

Ordered our usual meal they missed a sauce that we really needed 45 minutes later it arrives but we had to pay an extra £5.50 said they had increased there prices. Although it was there mistake. Phoned restaurant couldn’t care less said it was price increase and that was that. Guess what won’t be back and will share our experience with whoever will listen. Don’t think Management will care though think they are indispensable lol.

Family who own this are amazing ! Good food, never fails me, always top notch warm and full of flavour. My Friday vice 😬

Amazing lockdown treat - jasmine delivered to another two of our friends as well - all within 10 minutes so that we could all enjoy our take away at the same time on a zoom meeting. Their Indian food is the best and this was the next best thing to our curry night out in the restaurant. Thank you Jasmine.

Decided to treat ourselves in the Covid 19 lockdown to a home delivery. Used the online booking at 3:45pm for a pre-order with a 5:30pm delivery time. Meal was still 15 minutes late. The food was cold. Every item (apart from poppadoms) needed microwaved before eating. The ROAST SPRING CHICKEN, (to be served with salad & French Fries was dry and did not seem to be freshly cooked - same with the chips). No salad delivered. The Tikka Masala was acceptable. With spring rolls for two and a garlic nan bread the total cost was £34.95p. Was this value for money? I don't think so.

My family and I have eaten at the jasmine for years but after our last experience we won't be back. Staff are rude and it is very overpriced for such a small & unnapealing buffet. Avoid!;

We phoned for a delivery and when it arrived it was all wrong phoned the restaurant and they said they would fix it. Half an hour later still no joy phoned yet again and got dogs abuse from the owner/manager as for a replacement meal and was being shouted at and we gave the delivery driver our meal back and got no response from restaurant. Disgusting service and will defo not be back. They need to get people who can take orders and also be able to take complaints without shouting at customers. Absolutely disgusting

Arrived today at 13.30 to find the place empty however the waiter ushered us in, the place was cold( no one took their jackets off) to be told no food was ready and to stay seated.When we did get up to get food the starters were clearly recooked, burnt and no taste.The wee waiter guy was desperate to get us away as I hadn’t even finished and he was wanting my plate. Poor selection of food, no chips or nan available. I have came to the Jasmine for years but I won’t be back, the cost was horrendous. £47 for 1 adult and 3 kids

Food was delicious a small but excellent choice of Indian food. Nice surroundings with very friendly and helpful staff. I was in a party of 13 and the service was excellent.

Awesome all round- we were treated like VIPS, the atmosphere was amazing as was the food. Excellent service and food all round.

I had a very nice time with my sisters. We visited all the way from Birmingham it was well worth the trip.

We always choose the Jasmine for an Indian takeaway because we know it’s going to be delicious.Previously, we would order by phone, but have since discovered the ap which is so easy to use.There’s always a warm greeting when collecting our takeaway and the food has consistently been excellent. Highly recommended.

The food was delivered within an hour of ordering. The portions were small but the masala was bland and the Tikka was tasteless so even if the portions were larger, they would have gone in the bin too. We won’t be buying from there again.

Called beforehand to check they were serving a buffet lunch. When we arrived less than ten minutes after calling, the place was empty. Waiter explained he was clearing up but was hanging back for us arriving - it was 1.30 on a Friday afternoon. He said starters had been cleared but curries were available and what starters would we like. We asked what he had and having responded with a sigh, he said he would bring us a selection. Having asked what we would like to drink he said he would need to go next door to shop as he didnt have Red Bull or beer. Having returned he then asked were we happy to drink from tin or did we require a glass!! Starters were served along with a curry? One of our party had asked was there a mild curry in the buffet and he served it with our starters. We asked him to keep it warm until we were finished. We selected mains and having just sat down we were asked were we finished with buffet as he was anxious to clear it away. He stood watching us throughout and continually asked were we finished and once he cleared mains he gave an eye roll when we asked what puddings were available. He responded ice cream? His coat was on before we left the table and we were charged restaurant prices for drinks from bottle shop next door!! Overpriced (£42 for starters and mains and 3 drinks (2 non alcoholic), no pudding as there was no choice). I so wished we were told they were closing early as we were clearly not welcome. I dont need to know the kitchen staff want finished when Im out for lunch which he insisted on telling us at every opportunity. We wanted to chat and relax but we were badgered and rushed throughout. Food was lukewarm, plates cold, we had to ask for cutlery and napkins and the starters had clearly been reheated in the microwave. We were told to buy our own drinks at shop next door next time we came as it was cheaper but there wont be a next time. Incidentally, the red bull had a price on it and we were charged double - thats illegal.

Having not had an Indian for sometime my wife and I decided to try one at lunchtime, at the Jasmine Glenrothes...

The customer service is abysmal.

Good food, friendly staff & we willl probably go again. The only negative on the food is that it could have been hotter & I don’t mean level of spices, I mean temperature. It may be that the buffet dishes are constantly being opened for customers to self serve but I like my food hot. It was good to try different dishes that I wasn’t familiar with & great being able to have another helping.

Been going to jasmine for years ! Not anymore! Ordered over the phone to collect , a set meal for one chicken korma . Went into pay £16 one portion of rice one sweet nan(extra cost)and 5 dried up pieces of pakora ! I portion of korma all sauce ! Counted 6 pieces of chicken!! Come on seriously??? I cannot see how that amount of food could come to £16 for one person the restaurant has to be in one of the worst places in Glenrothes how the hell do they get away charging this much ? Totally fed up wasted my hard earned cash on soup !! Will never be back and don’t recommend.

Have been to Jazmine restaurant for a buffet lunch often. Went today, had lunch. Starters cold, quantity of each item was lacking, main course was fine, Dessert was poor. At a cost of £10.95 per per person for lunch during the week is very very expensive, Not worth the money, will not be back. Im sorry write a negative review because in the past has been good value, but not now since the price has increased excessively

I loved my visit to the Jasmine.The staff were very friendly. My food was fabulous and I will definitely be coming back again to try even more.

Went here for a lunch treat for my daughters birthday. We had my one year old granddaughter with us also. None of us are big eaters and the baby just grazed little bits to keep her happy while we ate ourselves. I didn't notice at the time that they had charged us for the baby until my daughter had looked at how much it should have been. Absolute joke! Under 2's should be free.

Was recommended this restaurant whilst on holiday in Scotland visiting family.

Hubby and I won competition for free buffet, food lovely great service, buffet a bit limited, need to look at there sweets which we thought were very poor

Just back from holiday, drove back home passing the best halal restaurant in Fife. Had to stop by for a take away. Chicken Korma and garlic nan to die for. For the light weights, now for the seriously delightful chicken vindaloo and pillau rice. That's when you know you are back in the Kingdom of Fife once again and home isn't far away. Well done Jasmine you excelled as always

Ate here when I was in Glenrothes to visit family.

We where here for a birthday meal. We have been a few times before and really enjoyed each time. We were with two small children they were extremely accommodating to both. The staff are so friendly which is lovely. We had the buffet meal which is absolutely lovely. There is a small selection but from that small selection is absolutely lovely. The only down side is the decor but do not let that decide for you. Food is absolutely delicious. We will be back.

We visited for the evening buffet. Was my first time so expected a standard buffet service.

Visited between 6PM and 7PM on a Saturday night and including ourselves there were 3 tables occupied- rather indicative of where this review is going.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating but sadly that's where it ends. Restaurant was cold. A few of our group had to keep jackets on. Starters were what you would find in a supermarket and cook in the oven yourself. Main meals were all chicken dishes and not too good. Same applies to sweets. All very disappointing. A real shame as this used to be a good restaurant. Will not be back.

This restaurant used to be excellent but it has been a couple of years since I had eaten any food from it. Wish that I had read the reviews before I ordered my take away.

Went here with my husband and daughter for the buffet last night and booked a table for 6pm. Been here previously on several occasions and dreary decor hasn’t changed and also my husband picks up takeaways too on way back from work. Also radio 1 playing instead of authentic music.

Went in on spur of the moment for tea.Starters were dry..watched the guy remove them and put them in the kitchen for the staff.Then observed a young woman with a blonde bob eat said and wipe her hands on her trousers before preparing a fresh table.Masala was sour and wine was warm...i will not be returning.Hopefully i dont have to call in sick for work!!!Just dont go

Received a takeaway meal from the Jasmine on a Saturday evening, the delivery was on time which was an hour and a half after I placed the order which shows how busy they must have been.

lovely selection of fresh cooked Indian meals, great service and great value for money. Buffet selection has something for everyone

This is the best Indian Restaurant by far. Service excellent, staff so friendly. Great variety of dishes.

But sadly the food was not good. Starters were mostly lumps of hard crunchy batter hiding mushrooms etc. Mains were all sauce and all chicken bar one dish. Wont be back.

Food arrived far too early (45 mins ahead of time advised). Pakora dried out and curry sauce split - very oily. Neither rice nor nann delivered. Really poor food and service last twice I have used The Jasmine - will not use again and would not recommend it at all.

I wanted to like the food here because the staff were lovely, however my chicken korma was a bowl of oversweet yellow gloop and I got a large chicken bone in my first mouthful. My partner had the lamb tikka masala and his was a bowl of orange gloop with poor quality meat. Sorry, but I won't be back.

Food was good however not overly hot.

90 minutes for delivery and the food must have been in the drivers car for an hour. It was all cold, pakoras were soggy and the curry had separated in the dish. Very poor quality for the price. This restaurant is excellent but their delivery service is abysmal!

Food was excellent, however food was estimated to arrive at 21:50, and didn't arrive until 22:50 which I didn't expect on a Sunday. Service wasn't great either, no apology or explanation for the late delivery. Disappointed as food was great and would order again if the service improved.

Precios ridículos para Asquerosa comida. Me dijeron que el tiempo de entrega sería de 40 minutos tardó más de 1 hora y media. La comida fue una decepción completa - aguada y sin sabor. No volveré de nuevo y se lo recomendaría a nadie que hacer el mismo

delivery time was exactly as stated but 45 mins to long to wait - we were told how long and updated 👍. just maybe work on getting times down good service though 👍👍

Pedimos una entrega en casa. Nos dijeron que sería de 1 horas tuvimos que llamar a una hora y media más tarde a preguntar donde estaba la comida. Dijo que estaban ocupados, pero estaría conmigo en 10 minutos. ¿Por qué no te dan un tiempo de entrega realistas! ! ! Cuando nos dieron 20 minutos más tarde, hacía frío. Esta no es la primera vez. No parece ser capaz de conseguir ese lado de las cosas. Como la comida que re-climatizada estaba bien.

Yo visite la zona bastante a menudo y siempre un punto de una visita a este restaurante. He probado unos cuantos restaurantes indios en la zona durante los últimos veinte años, pero siempre regresar a éste. El pollo pakora de arranque es el mejor que he probado nunca. El buffet es hasta unos 9 o'clock y tiene una gran selección y buena relación calidad-precio a £12, 95. El personal es muy amable. El único inconveniente es la zona. Es un poco peligroso.

delivery was very slow. With the price paid you come to expect something a bit better than other local Indians. It is very over priced. We ordered the same thing at the same time from the reya in Leslie and this came 30 minutes later. The food wasn't great, naan bread especially was stale as was the rice. Will stick to the reya from now on

El camarero, que parecía totalmente desinteresados en nosotros, casualmente preguntó cómo era para muchos el buffet, con ninguna disculpa ofrecido por nosotros de pie esperando. Nos llevaron a una mesa, y la vista desde la ventana era tapiada y contraventanas pintadas de spray, el camarero frentes tienda dijo que le llamaran cuando los aperitivos están listos. Dos minutos más tarde, él nos gritó y lo expuesto era ridícula. De color pálido, entrantes Sosa, que incluía los rollos de primavera mini que eran de 2 pulgadas de largo. Las cebollas eran un horrible picante de color gris que parecía somebodys vómito. . Me dijeron que el camarero no estaba contento o continuar mi estancia como la comida parecía tan horrible, por no hablar apenas suficiente para cubrir los tres, el camarero entonces dice que no eran Bienvenidos de nuevo! ! La música en el lugar era demasiado alta y era Radio 1 o algo así, sin duda no auténtica, no había decoración india, sin olor de la comida india, nada de ambiente. Estado más de 10 Bufetes indio en Fife en junio solo y este Jazmín fue el peor, y en 12. 95 por cabeza es también el más caro. Por favor gente, pasa de este sitio a menos que te guste ser estafados. .

food was great as usual I did order two. bottles of irn bru though and only received one, didn't want to hassle them by phoning up about a bottle of juice but still a bit disappointed

Bread was a bit thin and hard. Korma was nice. Bit expensive though... Better luck elsewhere I guess.

Ordered take away and went in to do it to make sure that they got it right as last time they did not and yet again they got it wrong asked for no mushroom in my wife's veg special karahi and you guessed it full of mushrooms asked for side salad and paid extra yet no salad also the lamb tikka in my tandoori mix was tough as old boots so I'm afraid that will be my last visit to the Jasmine.

Delivery tonight was dreadful. Waited just under 2 hours for our meal. When it arrived was cold, nan bread hard. The chips were just about black and tast d like reheats from last night. Will deffo not be ordering again

Tuvimos una agradable comida en este restaurante, me alegro de que encontramos. Siendo vegetariana y vegana que decidimos no ir por el buffet, que parecía bastante popular.

Came here with a few friends for the buffet on a Saturday night. Although the restaurant was fully booked you never felt rushed. Waitress was friendly & it was good to see the manager around aswell. Food was amazing. Very fresh for a buffet & piping hot! Great choice of starters & main meals. Will definitely be back!

This is the second time in a row Jasmine have made a mistake with our order and then the service and speed with which they tried to fix said mistake was truly terrible. What has happened, Jasmine? You used to be so good...

Food was acceptable, but I arrived at the time I was told it would be ready and still had to wait for over 20 minutes. I wasn't even offered a drink while I was waiting.

Chicken was a bit fatty in the korma and the bhuna lacked taste if I'm honest, great delivery time though! Bang on!

Extremely disappointment with our delivery - third time an item has been forgotten from our order and to my sheer disappointment vegetable spring rolls were full of chicken as a vegetarian I was quickly put off my whole meal ! Will never order again

Love the food from here, the spiced onions and panoramic sauce is the best I've tasted.

I requested 2000 delivery. The restaurant said 2015, which was fine. The food then arrived at 1915. They are very lucky I was actually in.

Our meal was okay, food was all warm, not piping hot. They forgot some of our sides and after waiting an hour and 15 minutes for our meal I couldn't be bothered complaining over a bag of chips and having to wait even longer by that time our mains would have been cold. Disappointed to see the Jasmine go downhill

Being using this facility for nigh on forty years now and it is arguably still the best in Fife for authentic Pakiistan/Indian food. People do not visit here all the way from Glasgow for no good reason and if you have not yet been then rectify that asap!

This used to be a favourite for takeaway but how it has went downhill. Order more than an hour late and when it arrived nan bread stone cold and more rubbery than Rowan Atkinsons face and when I opened curry had to dig beneath the oil slick on top to find anything and when I did the only thing I could taste was salt hope the bin enjoyed it more than I did. Don't know what's went wrong with the Jasmine but they have lost one long standing customer.

Visited with the wife, had the buffet which was superb if perhaps limited on choice but the quality was way up there with the best. The nan bread was freshly made which made the difference from the local competition. Definitely recommended for the food. Location is a bit grim though

Food was delivered 1 hour early before the family arrived to eat. I had to keep the rice hot in the oven, had to microwave the litmus to reheat and the nana& paratha were ruined as I tried to keep them warm but they ended up hard and crispy

Poor. Mains were watery, naan breads dry and burnt. Only ok parts were rice and the chicken pakora. All the food was luke warm/cold. Not the standard i've previously known from the jasmin. Considering the price they charge doubt i would order again.

Family run excellent food,service always friendly staff. Had Christmas Day there last 2 years! Frequent carry outs food always perfect have visited for 27years. Often traveling from Kirkcaldy to dine or carry out.

Great food but 30 minutes wait for order after collection time.. Don't understand charge for using debit card via just eat app?

Limited choice of dishes compared to some places but really very good quality and tasty. Wee guy who showed us to our seats was a wee bit on the dour side as he never once cracked a smile but the young ladies were very pleasant and bright and cheerful which made up for wee soor face.

I would not have a meal delivered again. It took an hour and 35 min and at a cost of £30 I don't expect to have to heat it up when it arrives. The food is good but at the price they charge the delivery is pathetic.

This is now the second time this has happened! You tell me the food will be delivered by 7:20 and it didn't arrive until 8:10, 50 minutes late after stated delivery time is not acceptable. Phoned the restaurant around 7:40 to be told it would be there in nine minutes but it was thirty minutes before we got it. If you only have one driver on then give a more realistic delivery time instead of it saying the foods been delivered then having to wait another hour. When the food arrived there was no apology for the lateness and when telling the driver that it better be hot he walked away laughing! Is this really how you want to treat your customers? Your only saving grace was that the food was still hot and it tasted good thankfully because if I had to phone again it wouldn't have been as understanding. Change your delivery times to a more realistic time and people will stop complaining.

1.5 hours for a delivery to come less than a 5 minute drive. Chicken was all fatty, and chewy in the korma. Disappointed.
