The food is terrific and they've got great vegan choices. It's absolutely worth the trip up to Turnpike Lane. The staff are friendly and professional and the owner is a fantastically friendly chap. Super clean place. Jashan is a lovely local spot and I couldn't be more delighted that they are still there making great food.

I came to this restaurant with my family. The variety of food is really good and the quality is good. The food is tasty and I recommend you bring ur family to eat here.

Used to be a nice restuarant. They've changed the layout and style, which I can understand, but the delivery food is awful. I hope this isn't the standard of eat-in meals, but regardless, there are lots of takeaway places that do much better food at cheaper prices. Real shame because I enjoyed coming here for over 20 years but it's changed so much I can't keep the rating I gave it previously, which was a high 4 star

Usually I love this place. However, the last few orders they have forgotten items. Then today I order and they practically for a meal and popadoms. I didn’t even ask for reinbursement the last time but now I’m just annoyed. They clearly don’t need the custom.

Service could be slow for large groups, but you'll forgive Jashan: their Dum Biryani is extraordinary, innovative while most tasty with moderate to strong spice. Wash the heat down with a proper Mango Lassi, and you'll be in Hyderabadi heaven 😋

Nice quiet atmosphere. Food and service was tasty and arrived promptly. Chap at the front counter was great even came looking outside for us when little one left her water bottle. Will definitely be visiting again, hospitality & to try other dishes.

I gave 4 only because 3 times I had to wait, they have great grill chicken with great sauce options, the chicken is similar to another restaurant but the price is very reasonable £6.99, great value and quality.

This place is a hazard avoid at all costs i will be contacting trading standards to come and do a health check, chicken was rock hard sitting there for maybe days. it was microwaved, food tasted disgusting and the curry had so much fat and oil in there. I told the boss the food is not nice i barely ate any of it. its horrible and he apologised and charged me in full anyways £23.50 for that lol. Today i have woken up and i cant stop going toilot this food is days old

We (2) had a meal this evening. We ordered Mixed Grill, Channa Curry, a couple of Nans which, cost £29.85. The mixed grill had burnt onions underneath the meat and was totally dry. I mentioned this to the waiter and asked him to report to the owner, who is the main chef. We expected an apology at least but none received. Service was sloppy as well, the waiter forgot to serve the initial salad. I had to ask for it as the mains had already arrived. Disappointing.

Ordered samosa chaat and paneer lababdar on Ubereats. The quantity was ample and the flavours were awesome. Highly recommend!

My daughter and son in law came down with food poisoning

Delicious yummy food. The keema naan was superb & the portions of the chicken saag & lamb curry with okra were yummy but a little spicy. The chat masala & jeera rice, lamb birani & mango lassi’s were yummy & the gulab jamun were very tasty! Prices were good and the portion size. Will return again inshallah thank you 😊

Service is amazing!! The old man there is referred to affectionately, between my friend and I, as being my other father ahahah, he is so sweet! Its a family run business which makes this place feel like youre visiting a very well organised home. The food's absolutely great. I definitely recommend. I've been here 3 times so far, twice for takeaway, and each time I experienced tremendous kindness. Its as if once you enter the realm of Jashan's everyone's suddenly on happy pills, well, whatever the reason for the happiness, I hope they remain that way for as long as they are alive. Love this place. And, I forgot to mention, the value for money is mind-blowing! A full main dish costs around £7.

The food was really nice. Didn't manage to take pics of all the food. The lamb karahi was very tasty.

Ordered takeaway here from Deliveroo and surprised at how I was not willing to eat their curries. Ordered a Madras and a Kadai curry but both look the same and no writing on the tupperware to differentiate which is which. When I tasted the curry, it tasted grim and salty and almost like as if a wet dirty rag was ran along it. The naan breads weren't any better -- as if they were purchased from Tesco and reheated on the microwave. Overall, will never order from here again. I didn't eat much of it but my stomach already feels sick from it as if it's rejecting it. I don't know how reviews can rate this as 4 stars.

The man who served us had a top attitude towards his customers and gave us the time to talk through everything. Lovely and well attentive. Food (the takeaway boxes were filled to the top) tasted better because of it

My husband called up the restaurant guy and he blamed Just Eat people for stealing food. And we had to order again with the delivery charge. The guy in the restaurant does not clearly state that the delivery charge will be there if u order the can, and we will deliver your dish then on that he said he will send 2 butter naans and I thought it was like goodwill as one item was not sent. But Why Should We Pay Again For The Delivery Charge If It Was The Restaurants Mistake? I confronted the same guy who came the second time to deliver the dish and I asked him why the restaurant did not send our one item the just-eat guy said that they are very busy and they forgot. I got really mad and I told the just eat guy but the restaurant guy blames just eat for stealing the food. then also I checked reviews online that if anybody said anything in the reviews. The restaurant guy says oh it has happened with many of our customers. There were no reviews on it. Also, the item was not piping hot. So I am pretty sure it was forgotten there in the restaurant. Instead of admitting it, he went on arguing about it and blaming the Just-eat people. Today we had a bad experience with them. These restaurants have become so greedy for money everywhere and they don't think about their quality and standards of service. The restaurant should make it sure that the order is fully delivered. So please check your order before the Delivery person leaves and if anything missing can call the restaurant in front of the delivery person.

Terrible food, overpriced, poor service, lack of respect and lack of English. Do not recommend.

I had a meal with my wife, chips had a hair on it so they changed it however when I got home I had two pieces of hair stuck in my mouth, one black, one white, staffs do not wear any protective clothing, workers are talking loudly in their language front of other customers, never again

£7.50 for a greasy, microwaved Lamb Biyirani with hardly any lamb in it. Cant believe the reviews saying best Indian in London. Must be family...

Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful place! I came in here recently for their Lamb Biryani and I was not left disappointed! The food was honestly elite tier and cooked through and so well. Alongside this we were brought out some free chicken wings from their new range. Again these were cooked so well. I will be back again that’s for sure

Chicken in the curry was super dry. My stomach is not happy. Edit: I spent the whole night ill, your semi heated curry in a microwave was definitely not fresh and a possible health hazard. I would throw that away and be more careful.

Service somewhat slow. Looks like very popular with locals. Food was too 🔥 to my taste. The waitress very nice but not fluent in English. Starter not ordered but was given for free . Overall good .

In my many years of ordering Indian / Bangladeshi food & having lived in India I can honesty say I have never seen so much ghee floating on top of my food ever! It is off-putting & not at all justified in terms of taste! I have just spent not far off £30 for a takeaway & cannot eat it as it is drowning in ghee 🤢🤢

The service was poor, they kept forgetting the orders, staff were not friendly, it was quiet, staff talking and walking around.

Before the change of ownership and the redecoration in 2022, it used to be our favourite restaurant in London for years. The food was delicious in a tastefully decorated interior and very polite service. We have tried the food after the change and while it is okay, we miss the dishes and tastes that Jashan used to offer.

Nice place to have a meal. Good customer service and foods are tasty.

The quality of the food does not match the price. Really over priced and the portions were small. Initially went for iftar, they did not offer any complimentary snacks for those fasting. Had only water to break out fast. Then had to wait 15 minutes for our starter to arrive and then another 10 minutes until our main arrived. Personally won't recommend.

Was amazing food and very good friendly service

Called ahead to order a butter chicken, order was confirmed by phone and confirmed again in person when I arrived. Paid for a butter chicken. Received a paneer curry (which costed less) - is this how they make money? Unlikely to return. Can’t imagine they’d give me the correct curry now so just disappointed by the experience. Restaurant was by no means busy at the time so hard to understand how they could mix curries up.

My favourite spot for a curry in North London- always great food, good portions and tastes amazing. Doesn’t get better than Jashan

UPDATE REVIEW 06/03/23 Went back on a whim and spoke to the manager/owner. He was genuinely interested on customer focus. Ordered a chicken curry and some naan. The owner presented it himself and told me he made it with a twist. Honestly, so much more improvement. I didn’t want to chance it so took the whole family within 3 days. The curry was made with fresh ingredients. I tried both chicken and lamb curry and both fresh as anything. (One knows the food is good when the kids eat them). Anyway, a massive different and I’m proud to say we have a local curry house. The decor has slightly changed but improvement in terms of lighting!!! I can’t wait till they introduce milkshakes!!! Thank you Raza —————————————————————————— Walked past this place and first impressions, friendly staff and lovely decor. Sadly that’s where the buck stops. I would start off by saying the presentation of the food got my juices going. I soon realised, reheated food in a fancy pot!! The biryani had the authentic presentation but again reheated. Chicken tikka on a sizzler, lazy job and def was not fresh. Overcooked and dry as a bone. Mango lassi had the right milk/pulp ratio but that’s it! The food was bland and not flavoursome (I’m Asian). As the other reviews said, some members may disagree with me on this side. Lastly, the prices are those of elite restaurants. A good experience but sadly I won’t be visiting again. There is nothing North of London that got my attention. My advice go to East London or if you can afford a weekend away, Birmingham (see my other reviews)

Smith & Brown Joinery Ltd had a curry Friday on 24th February 2023. I placed an order for 20 people and all the order collected was correct and all the team loved their food. Great choice and I will be ordering from Jashan again. K.P

Worst experience. The cocktails are a ripoff and the food was just ok. Not worth the price you pay and the waitress was quite rude to not accommodate our request. We spent a bomb but not worth the experience. Don’t waste your money.

I bought chicken Biryani and lamb biryani I paid nearly 14 pounds and I got 2 pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of lamb, I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ how they sell them like that

We went there with my family the food was amazing. Service was also very nice. We had lamb gosht, biryani, chops, chicken tikka and prawn curry everything was very delicious.

The customer service is really bad and they will not explain the dishes as I am not Asian. Very poor communication. They will argue rather explain what they sell. I will not visit this place again.

Non hygienic old food from days being sold in the name of Pakistani restaurants. Some one should report them to authorities.

Had very bad experience this with the service of this restaurant staff and management of this place this afternoon! I and two others friends of mine complained of slow 🐌 service rather than saying sorry 😞 they basically told us to f----- of , the food 🧂 salty I and my immediately comeing had go to toilets! May be they served us contaminated chicken 🐔 meat , I am thinking of make official complaint to the Haringey food and standard office to review theirs hygiene marking of this above mentioned restaurant .!

Sorry guys standard has really plummeted.Asked for mild curry got spicy hot! Lamb dry and chicken tough as bones. Won't be back until you guys observe and do something better, as in these difficult times to be able to eat out has got to be tasty and worth it!!

The food was very delicious and spicy. Of course you could chose the level of being hot, so it's comatibld with people who can't eat too hot.

Awful takeaway. Greasy oily and bland. Portions very small as well. Chucked most of it in bin. I suspect a change of ownership has happened as old reviews do not match to my experience. Avoid.

Terrible takeaway! Naan breads soggy cold and flat. Currys small portioned, covered in thick layer of oil, taste all the same. Bland with unnecessary amounts of chilli, even on the non spicy dishes. Even the poppadoms were undercooked. Hang your heads in shame! Never again even it was free!

I took my 4 visitors to the Jashan last night, a little anxious after reading some of the reviews. I had not been there for years. The decor was not as nice as it used to be, it used to have white tablecloths and no food pictures on the wall... just a little more elegant. However the waiter was extremely helpful and friendly and the food, chicken 65, chicken biryani and lamb rogan josh were all delicious as were the relish, the raita, the lassi and the nans. I was also asked if I wanted to take the left over food with me. Everything was very fresh. Sooo pleased, I shall be back and will recommend it.

The best biryani in the area! There are two varieties of biryani, we have tried both now and cannot decide which one is better. We love the chicken and lamb biryanis equally. The spice levels are good take it from a person who eats good spicy Indian food. So ask for a mild one if you cannot take the heat. Being a biryani lover I have tried many places in London and hadn’t found any that were up to the mark. The biryani at Jashn is really good and you will order it again trust me. We are now regular customer here and have tried many other things. Dal, paneer, chicken starters and kheer. The kheer is truly amazing. The staff is kind and helpful.

Customer service was great, very friendly and welcoming. Food was amazing!!!! Freshly cooked and good size portions (enough to take home for later!) Nice atmosphere and very clean. Toilets very clean. Really enjoyable evening with good home cooked food, and excellent customer service skills. Thank you will definitely be recommending to friends!!!

Just eaten here for the second time and yet again they blew it out of the water. Food amazing especially lamb and what lovely service. Cannot recommend highly enough. I will be back. Just hope there is not to many people next time!!

Things have changed over the years but I can always get a decent curry from Jashan. I was worried after reading some of the reviews that after several years of patronage this restaurants would fail to meet expectations but in regards to the food its good, value for money and authentic as far as you can be. Expensive yes, but really value for money, tried the chops, the sheek, the lamb Rogan josh all good, even the desi chicken curry was not bad. Thank you Jashan its good to have one good go to curry house.

Place looks like it's been refurbed a few months ago, place looks clean, food was fresh and tasty, chicken biryani, keema, nan, egg fried rice, all tasty, ask for the chillis, ras malai dessert, would go again, on main Rd, hence street parking

I ordered today take away at my house and everything looked and tasted delicious until I found this piece of metal in my mouth while eating my pilau rice. Not only, they use staplers to close the bag of poppadom's which is highly dangerous as well as it might end in the food and be swallowed. I work in a bakery and I know food and safety standard need to be high at all costs so please, please, be careful!!! I might have ended up in a hospital and it surely ruined my whole lunch.

They had freshly prepared food which were tasty. Food was delicious, ordered kheema samosa and lamb seekh kabab, made using actual ingredients rather than store bought stuff. Would highly recommend.

Ordered first time yesterday with my family. We chose a number of items . Lamb biryani was very delicious, malai chicken was delicious too . Haryali chicken was not as spicy as expected but still very tender and juicy . The Aloo chaat was tangy, lightly spicy and sweet - just perfect. We also ordered the manchurian, chilli chicken fried rice and pilao rice. Could've been spicier but overall excellent food and brilliant customer service. Will definitely be ordering again!

We've been ordering from Jashan for about 8 years. They closed for refurbishment in 2021 and we just ordered from them for the first time since they opened... this isn't the old Jashan! A place that was famous for great tasting food and good quality ingredients is no more... We got 3 meals and everything was bathed in salt (seriously, we like salty, but this was way too much!), chicken severely undercooked (as per photo) and the spices in biryani were completely off. They told us it's the same chef as before which can't be true. Their website is still stating they're closed for renovation and the menu on the website isn't up to date at all. We thought we will try it after months of being closed, but this was the last time we ordered from them. What a shame...
