Jarern Street Foods in Bolton

Thought I’d give this place another go. It used to be amazing. I reviewed. it a few years ago when we often ate here more than once a week. It went off the boil during the pandemic. Now it’s a nothing more than a rip off. They make you pay up front now for a reason. If I hadn’t have paid for what they served today, I would have refused to pay. As it was I took three bites and walked out. They can’t even be bothered to cook chicken satay over a grill any more. Now it’s fried. Fried chicken satay! The larb salad tasted as miserable as it looked and the owner / chef acted as if I was a nuisance rather than a customer but still added a mandatory service charge to the bill. Strong avoid.

Myself my dad and few my two mates went their for lunch catch up has been brilliant visit ever. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and yummy. I loved Thai green tofu curry was very nice and tasty ever.

We've been coming here for over a year and we absolutely love it. We were searching for a local Thai food place and managed to find this one. Gorgeous food, fast service, hard working people, and very reasonably priced. We love coming here!

This used to be our regular haunt, don’t know what’s happened, we’ve been getting deliveries throughout lockdown and have noticed the quality has been dropping. We decided tonight to give it one last shot after previously saying we wouldn’t try again and we’re thoroughly disappointed. My massaman curry was watery and diluted, you couldn’t even taste the coconut milk. There were no potatoes in it and the chicken had been boiled to death and was tough as old boots. My husband had a green curry and it was practically luminous, I’ve never seen a green curry that colour. The Thai aubergine has been replaced by cheaper regular aubergines and it was bland, tasting like a shop bought mix. All in all, highly disappointing. Prices have gone up substantially, which I can understand for quality, but it was obvious where they were cutting corners. We won’t be going back.

One of the best Thai meals I’ve had in years and love the relaxed casual cafe style. We had the Green and Massaman curries that both contained lots of vegetables. Tasty tofu too!

This had become a regular order for us during lockdown and we always enjoyed it. The food was different, authentic and very tasty. This weeks order wasn’t like that. The Penang curry was quite boring really, the chilli beef nowhere near its usual standard and the ribs and noodles just dull. It took extra chilies, fish sauce and lime juice to bring it to life which, at these quite expensive prices, shouldn’t need to be the case. We will try it again because it’s been so good in the past but not for a while.

We visited for lunch. The food was fantastic, authentic and very good value. Great service too. Will definitely be back.

I cannot fault any of the dishes I have had from there as been on many occasions! Fair price and top quality and definitely fresh! One of the best takeaways in bolton, serving restaurant quality food!

Been to this place a few times recently on recommendations. Wow. Food is amazing. Fresh, beautiful dishes. Lots of choice and everything I have had has been fabulous. Great staff too.

We've ordered from these guys a few times in the last few months. The first time we did; I thought it must have been a fluke as it was so good. We ordered again and it was the same. Excellent. The tempura better is of the same standard you might expect in a high end restaurant. Crispy and light. All other dishes including the crispy pork belly are of equal standard. As long as these guys keep up their standard then the sky is the limit. Keep it up!

We don’t use this place very often but, when we do, we always enjoy it. They deliver the food which is convenient and that service has always been really good. It isn’t the cheapest – for example, we had two duck spring rolls to start and it was £6.50! They were really good though to be fair and overall the food was good value for money. We have two different curries and a noodle dish and the portions are huge. They were made spicy as requested and it won’t be as long before we use them again. One last point. You don’t get any complimentary items like some other places such as prawn crackers or even a bottle of wine from one of their competitors.

This is the place I always order from when I fancy a takeaway because its 10/10. I've introduced friends and family and they've all loved it. Fave is the chilli chicken dish it's great :D

I can’t put words together to describe the taste but on God that was one of the best Pad Thais I had.

Absolutely love this place. We would always as a family go to a Thai restaurant in Manchester for our Thai fix but now only go here. Food is stunning. The dining area is ok and I don’t think there are toilets, but please don’t let that put you off as the food is simply delicious. As good as any Thai food I have eat. Go at lunchtime as they have a great value set menu. Also they deliver.

Would highly recommend the this place. Super tasty food, authentic and fresh. The menu was great, lots of variety and some great dishes to choose from. The service was great and everything was really good value. We will be going again!

Beautiful food - feast for the eyes and tastebuds, excellent service and great prices - a little over £30 for starters, mains, and soft drinks for two. This place seems to do a roaring takeaway trade as well as providing a table service. Highly recommended.

By far the best Thai restaurant outside of Thailand. The food is delicious and fresh. It is on the hot side though, so if you don’t like mega hot, ask for the dishes to made milder. I would definitely recommend.
