Food quality ( mostly if not all frozen fish) ratio price to quantity I score very low. Taste average nothing extraordinary. I was disappointed. Not recommended if you are looking place to dine in often.

Came here for a meal on a friday evening as a table of seven, booked the evening before so they were good to accommodate us. I was surprised to see the restaurant fairly quiet, only 1 or 2 other tables whilst we were there. I enjoyed a couple of cocktails, very tasty and decently priced. There was a little wait for the food but nothing unexpected for a larger table in a small restaurant. Our server was very attentive, letting each of us know where to watch out for too spicy. Starters were lovely, sushi was a bit chewy but still very tasty. Would definitely come again and try a chefs special next time!

It was our first visit to Jane’s Seafood and it way surpassed our expectations. We had the crispy sea bass with spicy sauce and green mango and a vegetable Thai curry. They were delicious! We’ll definitely be back!

I have been to this restaurant now on two occasions. I have travelled from Cardiff on both occasions and I can tell you that it is worth every mile of the journey. The food is absolutely delicious, divine and out of this world. The tastes and attention to detail with every dish are very impressive. The warmth, decor and ambience are first class. I made a suggestion to Juliana (multi-talented waitress who also takes great pics) that some bread would go well with the seafood platter and this was implemented on the second visit. The chef, Marcia, grew up in Brazil and her take on seafood dishes and Thai dishes is very unique. She has magic in her hands. I would highly recommend the seafood platter and Tom Yum dishes. Ask for spicy versions and enjoy. I would come here every week if I lived closer. Keep up the good work guys.

Food was ok.Atmosphere was non existent as it was empty. Nothing you can’t cook at home with a jar sauce. Decor was atrocious. If you’re charging £20 for a main course at least sand and paint the filler on the ceiling and paint the toilets. Details matter in this market.

A true hidden gem for seafood lovers!

Placed a scheduled order on uber eats. They cancelled it after an hour, and after it was confirmed!

This is an amazing restaurant and the food is top notch. Upon entering the building you are greeted by a friendly staff member that is knowledgeable about the menu. She was able to offer suggestions based on our requirements. The food is full of flavour and the portions are plentiful. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I only order takeaway this time. The steam mix seafood curry the sauce is too rich. The sea bass and the scalloped fried rice is nice. The dish I most enjoy is the prawn sashimi 😝 Overall the food is good.

Meal was better than expected. The tempura batter and ginger and soya dressing were exceptional. Egg fried rice best I have had. Great place to dine whatever the size of the group

Literally so good I'm leaving a review while still sat at the table!!!! The food was so good, i could have eaten it 3 times over - but the portion size was just right so definitely wouldn't have needed to!! I had mixed seafood japanese fried rice, one friend had grilled lobster, and another had veggie fried rice - all very happy with our choices!

Table of six, ordered different meals across the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. The food was hot, smelled good. All the chilli dishes were amazingly well balanced in their hotness. The service was absolutely amazing too. My family and I will definitely be regulars here and we will be coming back. We ended up adding more Prawn Tempuras to our starters while we waited for our main meal. Excellent service

Broad selection of seafod with various cooking styles. My favourite is seafood platter for 2. The seafood is fresh, and the spiciness is at the right level.

Fantastic selection of seafood dishes, we really enjoyed the crispy sea bream and a few sides. The seafood platters look immense!

My mum and I had dinner here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was delicious, especially the prawn gyoza with dip. I had the grilled whole Sea Bass with garlic butter and I would highly recommend, perfect portion (with side of rice) and great if you don’t mind picking out bones. We had a lovely server with constant cold water refills and she made us feel very welcomed. We will be coming back again!

Absolutely yummy! Perfect portion sizes too. We went for the 2 courses for £15 and felt quite bad we were only paying £15 to be honest. It was so tasty and beautifully presented.

Food is the bomb. Being an Asian and missing home cooked food i would say their food is beyond expectations. In thai we say "aroi mak mak" means it is heavenly delicious. Kudos to the lady who is entertaining us and to the chef, i love you to the moon and back! If you come between 5.30 to 7pm, i believe on weekdays only (please correct me if I am wrong) you are entitled for selective starter and main course for 15£. The portion is meant for sharing and they have varieties of food you can choose from. Kindly ask for a level of spiciness and do not hesitate to ask for more spicy food if u like spicy. We ordered tomyam, nasi goreng, pad kra pao, oyster, prawn tempura, squid sushi, steam rice and we got orange chocolate cake for free 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We got a seafood all platter for 2 and prawn sushi for starter. The seafood platter was awesome although the prawn needed more seasoning in my opinion. The sushi however were huge and very meaty! I loved it. Me and my partner very much enjoyed it and i would love to come back again to try their other menu 😍 very lovely and accomodating staff

Food and staff were great. Tables were sticky- probably too much polish. A bit empty and slow service. Food was good but not great- I had the full crab. Sushi was really good.

Juliana's attention to us throughout our meal was warm and welcoming. Gilda's hard work in the kitchen produced a superbly tasty meal and we will definitely be returning to sample more of this extremely extensive menu. Also of interest is their ability to easily adjust the ingredients without contamination to address any allergies. The cream on the top was when Juliana heard it was our Anniversary, without being asked she and Gilda produced some cake with a candle! Definitely on our keeper list.

My husband and I had dinner at Jean's Asian Seafood Restaurant this evening, Saturday 4th June 2022. The decor is tasteful. The food was amazing. Thai, meets Japanese, seafood at its best. Good portion size. Very reasonably priced. This restaurant has definitely become a favourite for us. Highly recommend.

Excellent sea bass, sushi and starters. We’ve been there a few times and tried a few of the sea bass and they have all been very tasty. The presentation of the starters is great and so is the taste. Staff are very nice and I would highly recommend this place! It’s a gem in Gloucester Rd.

The best Asian+Seafood restaurant in Bristol! Amazed by the taste and presentation

Went there couple weeks ago with some friends. We ordered platter and fish plus I forgot what else. Asked for spicier taste and they'll didn't let us down. The spicy level is good and meet our expectation. Their service is great and the place is nice, too. One thing to note is to prepare some cash as it's cash only.

Best seafood I've tried in Bristol. The seafood platter for 2 can actually feed 3-4 people, so it's worth the price. Authentic Thai taste that comes with sauces with adjustable spiciness level (you can ask for "real Asian spicy") but even without the spicy sauce, the seafood is already good on its own as the ingredients are very fresh. I don't normally like clams due to their smell but this one doesn't smell at all.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I've been to in Bristol! The food is amazing, and the service is fantastic.

Raw prawn salad starter and cooked crab in coconut are two of the best dishes I have ever tried in any restaurant. Highly recommend

More expensive than Jean's Bistro just a short distance up Gloucester Road (which was full) and this Jean's is not BYO. So, we didnt plan to come here but we were very happy we did. Two of us had crispy sea bass, very spicy and delicious, and the sea bream also looked pretty good. Polite and friendly service, nice atmosphere, we liked it a lot.

Local restaurant, we wanted to try the new venue (there is an existing bistro BYOB) wich is quite good. Positioning this restaurant and an Asian fusion focused on seafood. The deco and comfort are OK...seems heating is an issue as small radiators put around occupied tables. Friendly waiter and speedy kitchen. Menu with great variety and reasonably priced. Good overall

Four of us had a meal at Jean’s Asian Seafood restaurant last night. We all had different starters and mains - three of us chose sea bass for the main, though different dishes. It was all beautifully presented and delicious. Jean’s new restaurant is a fabulous addition to this end of the Gloucester Rd.

Hm...prawn starters were nice but mains were just not okay at all. My sashimi bowl with Japanese rice tasted like boiled rice with some supermaket cheap fish cuts. I love sashimi and I just had couple of bites and couldn't finish it. It was the same with my friend. The prices are too high for what they are as well. Just disappointed really!

Award winning Jean's Bistro Owner new Restaurant total failure!!! We have been lovers of Jean's Bistro for quit some time, so we have decided to try new opening Jean's Asian Seafood Restaurant. So fist time and never again unfortunately. We have some starters and 4 mains. The food when served looks amazing but the whole experience ends here. Long story short we believe all the seafood is frozen and totally not fresh. If is not frozen (which is hard to believe) then I don't understand why prawns, squid, fish or whatever comes from the sea don't have any taste with watery texture? All the seafood was either dry, over-fried with oily taste (example: Crispy sea bass in a spicy sour sauce with green mango and cashew nuts and Thai herbs) or overcooked (Scallop, king prawn, crab meat and edamame Japanese fried rice), tasteless with sponge, watery texture. The only fresh food was the rice or noddles or anything which is not classes as sea meat. Additionally we know the trick when the huge plates make the serving looks a bit bigger (Mix Seafood Laksa with Crab broth - this should be class as a starter as the portion is small) which we never recommended, but that's not the way to please the customers when they going out with the craving for food kind of felling. As we knew Jean's Bistro we have had high expectation and we were so excited to finally visit her new place. But the whole experience was total disappointment. I believe this is typical bad move of all restaurant owners where the expansion of the business and running costs are compromised by the quality and quantity. Well it is a shame as we wishes all the best for Jean but we can't justify the quality and quantity in here new restaurant. I hope this will improve but we will be so reluctant to visit the places again. Maybe not in near future. It is so hard to place good review when you happy, becouse you are happy :) but when you feel disappointment is even harder to leave bad review especially if you want for someone to be successful. As an honest persons, food lovers, we really appreciate the taste but the whole evening was totally ruined:)

Goodness me, what absolutely scrumptious food! We love seafood so we struggled to choose just one meal each. Everything we had was seriously delicious. Lovely staff, beautiful surroundings, obviously a hidden gem!

As long time fans of Jean's Bistro we were excited to try Jean's Asian Seafood Restaurant. We were not disappointed! The sashimi prawns were outstanding and my deep fried seabass perfectly spiced. They will soon have a wine list to reflect the high food quality. Get a table!
