Jandol Baklava in Manchester

I went to Jandol to have some of the well reviewed baklava. I got some of the pistachio ones and the birds nest ones in a takeaway plate. As soon as I took the first bite, I realised it was stale. It tasted as though the oil used for making it went rancid. I tried a bite from each of the different kinds and all of them tasted the same. I had to throw the entire plate sadly. I definitely wouldn’t recommend the baklava. Not sure what the rest of the food there tastes like.

We went as a group of 6 friends. We walked in around 16:00 on a Sunday and they had a table for us. I can’t put into words how great it was. The food was amazing (you must try their garlic sauce… it looked like a cheese). The staff couldn’t do enough for us. The service was fantastic. I’ve driven past this place (On the A6) for years and always wanted to try it. My only disagreement is I didn’t try it earlier. 5*

Honestly we are Arabic and I do not know what the heck was delivered to us but it wasn’t Molokhia nor Fasulia, please change your chef my 12 year old cooks better !

Service okay and atmosphere nice but didn’t like the baklava at all. Got offered the ones in the plastic wrap when we asked. Never again. Tasted like plastic and like it was coated in something to keep it fresh. Maybe offer your customers the fresh baklava so they come back instead of the packaged one. It’s awful.

Very tasty shawarma. I recommend.

Falafel wrap, and Fatush salad are 10 out of 10, friendly staff, god atmosphere, highly recommended

Visited this evening with my husband and our friend. The food was delicious we had a mixed mezza starter to share and I had a chicken kebab. The food was lovely and the staff were really friendly. Thank you so much I would highly recommend going here for a night out 😊

poor Hygene, hair in food, chicken shwarama was just full of cartilage and fat. now I am ill from the food. not good at all, don't bother.

I ordered two wraps chicken (large) & lamb (regular) shawarma but found that there was very little salad inside it (see pic), so i had to add my own which was disappointing. The chicken was tasty however the lamb was tough & chewy so I'd avoid that. The large wrap was slightly bigger but didn't have any more filling than the regular. Delivery was quick via Uber. Lived in London most my life and found it difficult to find a good sharwama place in Manchester. This one so far is my favourite but not at the level of Helen’s in central London

What a lovely discovery!! A gem of a place. The food was delicious and plentiful with a vice selection for both myself (carnivore) and my wife (vegan). We had a wonderful, warm welcome and the service was excellent. Finished with the best Arabic coffee I’ve ever had and, as we were paying, our host slipped us a sample of baklava each. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Went there for lunch and tried starters . The owner was very nice and helpful but the food was very ordinary . They also charged a dine-in charge which I have not seen before . I recommend curry mile more .

Went as a party of three for my birthday. Been a few times before and quality was as good as previously. I had lentil soup to start followed by not wraps filled with falafals, ha!Kimi cheese and chickpea stew. Also shared a salad and fries. Followed with cake and coffee. All very good as usual.

3 of us went today as it was Peter's birthday. I had hummus and lovely warm bread and then a few shared dishes and mixed kebab. The lamb chops are worth mentioning as they were so tasty. The dips were splendid as well. I had baklava and coffee to finish. Paul had lamb and hummus, and he opted for the same as me. He had ice-cream which he said was wonderful. All the staff were excellent and our meals were tasty and plentiful. Thanks ever so much. We have been before. From Viv G.

Ordered a takeaway. We had stuffed vine leaves, cheese fatayer, meat kibbeh, a falafel wrap and a lamb shawarma wrap. Ordered mango cake and Black Forest cake for dessert, restaurant phoned shortly after we ordered to say they didn't have these and offered baklava or honey cake instead. This was absolutely fine, I'm not bothered that they didn't have the cakes because they dealt with it really well and the woman who called was really friendly. The food was all delicious. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't expensive either and considering the brilliant quality of the food it was very good value for money. We will definitely order or visit the restaurant again.

This place is so underrated. Went on a Sunday and it was empty but the food was amazing and so reasonably priced.

Visited with a friend who wanted to try some Lebanese food. The decorations and atmosphere in the place is good but the place is a bit expensive for what it is. On top of prices, they charge service charges where the service is not professionally dressed or anything. I ordered the chargrilled sausage as a starter and Kofta Kebab wrap as the main. The taste was similar to what you can find in any other middle eastern restaurant. I paid £18 for both of these, which, I believe, is a bit too excessive. I think smaller takeaways will be more authentic and better value for money.

Great menu with a mix of veg and meat options. We shared a load of the hot and cold starters as a main meal and were absolutely stuffed- we definitely ordered too much. The baklava is great too we’ve picked this up in the shop part of the restaurant many times.

I love this place. The staff are so lovely. My friend and I love to go for a meal then take home some sweet treats (cannolis are my favourite). The food is always very fresh and tasty. The restaurant itself is very clean and pretty.

The baclava are excellent. We travelled 20 miles to get some for Christmas gifts. Freshly made and beautifully wrapped. We have never found a better supplier.

Very Disappointed, I have eaten here on a couple of occasions and been really impressed. This time I felt very disappointed, my brother was up to visit and I took him here, the meal was almost inedible. The ( hot) starters were cold and undercooked. The mains were also cold and tasteless. We were also overcharged on the bill. When asked if we enjoyed the food I said it was nowhere near as good as the usual standard, there was not even an apology and the waitress continued to take payment. The restaurant was empty and just a cluster of staff sat in the corner. I would not recommend and will not be returning.

I came with two friends for a birthday meal on 27th August and we enjoyed it very much. I had a cheese Bourak starter and then thought to try the large vegan wrap since it was offered on the menu. My friends had babaghanouj and meat bourak followed by mixed kebabs. Coffees to follow with a small baklava each. Been before and no doubt will come over again.

We went on Sunday 27th August/23 and had tasty starters and delicious meals. It was a birthday meal. Two of us had mixed kebabs and our friend was a vegan, he still is a vegan actually. He told us he enjoyed his meal. We finished with coffee which was a big cup of coffee. We all agreed it was splendid. From Viv Garnett.

Nice casual meal with a friend. Tasty honest food. Chicken was really good, lebanese hummus too, fresh sausages with hint of lemon. Has a bit of a cafeteria feel with the chef banging the ringer when a meal is ready to be served and loud radio music past 9pm.

Came here for the first time last night and the food was delicious. Had the grilled halloumi starter and chicken sharwarma main which was absolutely yummy! Lovely and clean inside the restaurant too! I must come back and try the pastries:-)

We have eaten at Jandol several times, we keep coming back for more! The food tastes fresh and delicious, the menu is extensive and I haven't had a bad dish yet. There are loads of great vegetarian options too. We have always found the service friendly and welcoming. My only other feedback is that sometimes the music is a bit too loud.

Went here tonight for a lovely little payday treat, the food was lovely and fresh! The cucumber yoghurt salad was amazing, meats and rice were delicious. Everything was tasty and fresh, restaurant is very cute and clean, nice decor and the staff are lovely friendly. Highly rated!!

Incredible food and lovely staff. Such an exciting range of baklava and Turkish delight too! We went on a Monday night so we were one of only two groups there but seen it is busier on other evenings and weekends!

Service was slow and food was average. Expected it to be better but was just average. Drinks were rather poor.

Absolutely amazing wouldn't go anywhere else

I wouldn't be discouraged from going, the food looked good and the atmosphere was nice. It's just that I didn't get my food after 90 mins of waiting and had to leave. Took around 30 mins just to get hold of a waiter to pay, and there wasn't really an apology for the mistake. I didn't want to kick up a fuss as I was hungry and needed to catch the train. It was definitely an honest mistake and an unfortunate experience, but the staff need to be a little more attentive

Great little cafe and restaurant. I try to stop by here at least once a week for coffee and baklawa. Very friendly staff and good herbal tea choices. I will try the food one day!

Wasn’t what i expected. I ordered a lamb kebab with chips. I left special instructions for it to be well done and not red.I also rang and asked if I could have only onions but was told “the salad is already made up”. When it arrived the naan came as one half and two quarters? All the meat was red inside too. I won’t be ordering from here again as I haven’t got what I ordered and paid £17 for, it’s gone in the bin. Was hoping I could add photos to prove but, there is no option for this?

Awesome place amongst all the disgusting fried chicken shops. Great food , shout out to the lovely young woman waitress she is a great asset. Use it or we are going to lose it. Amazing decour and gifts available too. Great value.

Went for coffee and cake. Service brilliant, as usual. Don't understand why the place hasn't become more popular- great selection of bakery products with many varieties of baklava and fantastic and reasonably priced Lebanese food. Good portions too!

Such a bizarre experience. Called up and made a takeaway order to which I was told it would be 20 minutes. I turned up and waited at the counter to collect. There was a lady in the kitchen that completely ignored me. Sat down for a further 10 minutes which was half an hour at this point. No food being cooked the whole time and pots being washed. One of the workers just walking past me. I have never felt so unwelcome in a restaurant. This is food I could make at home but it's nice to have a bit of a treat. Walked out in the end and I haven't even had a phone call. So either I have died and turned into a ghost or they are just rude. Either way I won't be returning. I took what a thought, my non existent self to another takeaway on Manchester Road and had the opposite experience.

One of my favourite places to eat in Manchester, I have been going here for years and the food is great, the desserts are my favourite. It is a hidden gem and worth a visit. 10/10

Nice place to shop syrian sweets

The most awful shawerma I’ve had in my life the chicken shawerma was mixed with bones I really don’t know how the food is served in this way!! Also I received my meal without a spoon or a fork! I threw the food away as I couldn’t even eat any extra bite!! I just paid money for something that doesn’t deserve a single penny Very disappointed! I doubt that this is a Lebanese restaurant as it is not even close to it

We went to @jandolbaklavapastries to enjoy ourselves some Lebanese food cos who doesn’t like this! And we walked away having enjoyed the food and the most memorable was the Honey Cake - can we just say, if you haven’t tried this, you need to go! Even after a full meal, we both happily inhaled this…layers of sponge covered in cream with a sweet honey touch - not too sweet and completely perfect Not forgetting the Baklava too with 20 years of perfection by this family-run restaurant - a wide variety and there’s one which had a cinnamon kick that we went mmmmmm too. We don’t usually like cinnamon flavoured items but we’ll happily take this again On the savoury side, the Mix Mezza was a winner for us - a little bit of everything and tasty all round
