First come last served, unless you’re a regular and you get your drinks before anyone else didn’t even have to order was brought to straight to their table. Not how a restaurant should be ran, first come first served that’s how it’s meant to work.

Went here for the vegetarian breakfast and it was very good. Coffee and chai tea were also good. Staff very helpful and friendly. The decor is quirky with art you can buy on the walls. It's a nice independent cafe, and worth seeking out to get away from the more standardised offerings in the nearby shopping mall. Will go again if we're back in the locality.

I held my 70th birthday party in James's Bistro and I highly recommend James and staff and the venue. They produced a lovely finger buffet at a very reasonable price and their service was brilliant. We were able to bring in a dj and have live music as sound system available - and space to dance. Its such a lovely cafe too - I will definitely be visiting again 😊

The food was lovely and I liked the atmosphere but the wait was so long for the food, well over 1 hour for food. We discussed afterward that you would have to chose another place to eat if you didn't have a completely free scheduled afterwards. We did ask for extra hollandaise sauce but it never came and after waiting and holding out to eat, we decided we just had to get going or it would be freezing cold. I actually said to my partner when i asked for it, i dont reckon theyre going to bother getting us that 😂 and the sauce didn't come. The amount of hollandaise on the eggs benedict was so little and I'm not a fan of it drowning. I know this review sounds negative but the food was nice quality and I would really like to give it a go again maybe just a little change to the openess or attentiveness of staff, as I really felt I was a big bother asking for anything.

Este lugar está escondido detrás Highcross centro comercial. Y bien vale la pena encontrarlo. Si lo que quieres es casero, comida bien hecha es la bomba. El frente de señora de la casa es fantástico y hace su trabajo bien. No esperes comida rápida a velocidad del rayo. Este es un lugar para disfrutar, así que vale la pena la espera. El garbanzo y hamburguesas de boniato era delicioso con un sabor parrilla y casera friolera nos magnífico. Los espaguetis a la boloñesa era increíble y enorme. Mi esposa y yo hemos estado viniendo a este lugar desde el nacimiento de nuestro primer niño mayor de 4 años. Creo que nos introdujeron por primera vez a través de un grupo de madre que se reunieron en la ciudad, pero la verdad es que no puedo recordar. Aquí hay cinco cosas que contarle a la gente sobre este lugar:1. El lugar en sí es inusual, y se ha vuelto más y más carácter en los últimos años. También es interesante arte en las paredes, un buen sabor de música de fondo mientras hay también casera chutneys, artes y artesanías hechas por los proyectos disponibles (presumiblemente) personas que conocen y frecuentan el lugar? Mientras que esto puede sonar desagradable que realmente es así, yo creo que es la mezcla ideal de ser un lugar único para sentarse con cosas interesantes que ver, sin sentirse desordenada o como está tratando desesperadamente de vender cosas.2. Está muy orientado a la familia. Esto se debe principalmente al personal, quien naturalmente genuina y servicial (no hay guión). Se puede decir que les gusta mutuamente y vivir bien y que les gusta estar allí. Ellos nos conocen por su nombre, y que ellos.Para los niños más pequeños hay una zona en la parte de atrás, con los juguetes de niños que pueden ser traídos de mesas, muy buenas instalaciones para cambiar (tienen tanto un paso en los baños del lavabo, y 'asiento elevador' escaños para bacinica-aprendices) y parecen disfrutar charlando y jugando con los niños que vienen, ajetreo a pesar. Si portan mal (seamos realistas) para los niños si no me hicieron sentir de ninguna manera como estás indeseados y hay un montón de espacio para 'vagando' y sillas altas para sentarse.prácticamente cada plato del menú tiene una versión del niño, y el menú es lo suficientemente flexibles que pueden obtener cosas para ti. Mis hijos se comer y disfrutar de un montón de cosas en el menú, y no hay nuggets de pollo o patatas fritas para ser visto. Nos hablaron graciosamente ofrecen platos decentes de plástico, cubiertos y vajilla para manos pequeñas!3. El menú es quizás un poco pequeña comparada con la de las otras alternativas en la ciudad, pero todo es fresco, con gran habilidad y muy sabroso. También hay una amplia variedad, con pastas, hamburguesas, ensaladas, desayunos, tortitas, peces e incluso un queso junta. Creo que entre nosotros como una familia hemos trabajado en casi cada menú en los 4 años (no incluye especialidades que son interesantes y cambio semanal) y sólo encontramos una, quizás dos, cosas que no nos gustaron. Como mi esposa y yo no bebo, la variedad de bebidas sin alcohol es una gran ventaja. Hay verdaderos batidos de frutas, refrescos y incluso un Eggs Benedict leche para los más pequeños. El chef realmente sabe lo que hace, especialmente con los postres (ver más abajo). El café es el adecuado, y muchas personas pop en sólo para bebidas.4. La comida es innegable excelente, pero los postres son aún mejor! Todos los helados, tiene sófas la brulée, gellato, sorbete, brownies, merengue (para nombrar unos pocos) están recién hecho y delicioso. A veces no pedir comida, sólo comprar bebidas y una fuente de postre (4/5 postres de su elección) entre nosotros. Sabores varían cada semana, mi favorito era sorbete de fruta de la pasión.Si tuviera que ser crítico sobre el tema de la comida (que es difícil) diría que quizás llegar a esperar más tiempo aquí que en otros lugares (aunque no creo que nos hemos alojado nunca esperamos más de 45 minutos) y que sus salchichas son la única decepción en el menú. Para los que no comen carne y aquellos con dietas únicas también existen numerosas opciones. Si no es obvio, sólo hay que preguntar.5. Precio. Si te digo la verdad puede ser caro para una familia entera para comer, especialmente si quieres postre (y) pero hay que recordar que se trata de un restaurante independiente en el centro de la ciudad y cocineros que hace que todo es comida en casa y fresco a la orden. Por lo que se obtiene que yo personalmente considero que merece la pena, ya que a la par con muchos otros restaurantes.Como nota final, se tarda unos 5 minutos a pie desde el aparcamiento alto de cruce así que es fácil llegar a una vez sabes donde está, pero se beneficia enormemente de estar en una calle muy tranquila. Es rara vez abarrotada, pero rara vez vacío, incluso a mediados de semana por las mañanas.
