Fabulous food, lovely staff and a chilled atmosphere. Its fast becoming one of our favourite places for brunch in Gloucester.

Visited for the first time today, Green Tea was excellent (loose tea leaves!) and I had a full english which was great! Very friendly and welcoming and would visit again.

Jamaica blue has become our ‘go to’ coffee shop and restaurant for elevenses, brunch or lunch when we’re in town. The food is delicious, and the service excellent.

A 'go-to' cafe in the centre of Gloucester. The Blueberry Cruffin is to die for. Food and coffee were good and attentive service a big plus. Bonus points for being easy access for wheelchairs and buggies - has baby change facilities too.

Had a lovely lunch would definitely recommend, nice staff who were very accommodating towards my niece’s requirements. Comfortable seating but just a pity about the condensation on the front windows - public can’t see in to see how nice it is and had I been on my own I would have liked to look outside perhaps better ventilation would help.

Went in for some drinks and cakes. Ordered off the list on the wall and when the receipt appeared all the drinks prices were higher than advertised. We were dismissed by the woman at the till telling us they are wrong on the wall and they don’t do those size drinks or those prices anymore. For a refund and promptly left.

Every shopping trip to Gloucester starts with a delicious Brekkie in Jamaican Blue. Their coffee is amazing too. Great food and service today. Thank you

not particularly friendly or rude, bread roll was good but nothing else really, food was brought out separately so i was finished when my partner got their food, hair in the food, music is very repetitive

I’ve wanted to try this place for ages . I took my granddaughter with me (who only likes McDonalds / KFC) to try and show her there are nicer places to eat and drink . It started very well , I black coffee and coffee walnut cake for me , hot chocolate with cream and marshmallow and 2 pancakes with bacon ( no maple syrup ) ordered for my granddaughter . Drinks delivered and then cake within approx 7 mins . After waiting 15 min no pancakes , I ask the very nice person clearing the tables how long they would be , they were then delivered to the table within 2mins .Maple syrup on them . He apologised. We had to went another 7 minutes for the maple free pancakes to come , just as I was nearing the last third of my lovely coffee and walnut cake ! But what is this a hard pieces of I don’t know what was was in the cake ? Just as the person left the pancakes I explained and showed him the lump of cake . It said oh! This one is fresh today let me go and see . He did not return , no one came to apologies. So what was a nice visit ,was spoilt with the lack of manners to address 3 problems 1.Food taken too long ( already had finished drinks) 2. Wrong order delivered 3 . No addressing slow service or problem with cake . It’s a lovely atmosphere . The coffee is lovely and the pancakes were lovely and tasty ( my granddaughter gave them 9)

Dry... Korean BBQ burger, overcooked chicken very dry. Never had dry chips before, don't want them again either. Mocha weak and not very hot either. Disappointed.

I went here with my Jamaican wife and Son today. 2 of us ordered eggs benedict, one with a side of bacon, one with a side of smoked salmon. Poached eggs were virtually hard boiled, certainly the yolks were solid - and the hollandaise sauce portions were meagre - with the sourdough base, they were all rather dry, not great to eat. Disappointing. A shame, since the restaurant was virtually empty at 1.30pm. Service was poor - no one asked us about our food (perhaps just as well). Hard to recommend - I had high hopes.......Also, the "Blue Mountain" coffee we also ordered is NOT the real thing. If you are expecting Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee, you will be disappointed. To add insult to injury, we had to personally clear and clean our table - a window cover too, prior to order - with other empty tables littered with dirty crockery / remains of food and drink. Not impressive, by any stretch of the imagination, since the restaurant was virtually empty.

Would rate it a 10/10 apart from the dirty table we got and the toilets were out of order but the disabled one was open but not clean. Food,service and ambiance was amazing!!

My mother, myself and daughter came here for a coffee and cake. The staff were all extremely friendly and the food/drinks is presented beautifully. Very clean and great atmosphere.

Unfortunately I didn't have any food so can't comment, I popped in for an americano coffee, it was very cool in there because it was very hot outside, nice atmosphere and there's plenty of seating 💺just added a video of pancakes and maple syrup with bacon, had that today 29,05,23

Food was excellent if a tad expensive, coffee was great. Service was not good, brought the wrong coffees and totally forgot the meal for one of my colleagues so we had to hang around a long time. The place was not busy at the time so no real excuse for it.

UPDATE We returned a few weeks later and had the same dishes and it was…disappointing. Poorly cooked and didn’t seem very fresh this time. Coffee was still good though. Shame. Never heard of this place but walked by and decided to pop in for breakfast in the hope it’s decent. It most certainly is! My husband is American and had the American Diner breakfast and was amazed by the bacon - the most authentic and delicious bacon he’s had in the 5 years of living in the UK. Hugh praise indeed. I had the smashed avocado breakfast with smoked salmon and was blown away by how good it was. Perfect poached egg and the combo of maple syrup and chili oil was shockingly delicious. The staff were friendly and chatty in just the right way. And I could see the kitchen staff from my seat - they were working hard! And the coffee…fantastic. Will definitely go out of our way to visit again. Oh, and the food and coffee looked good enough to photo!

Normally great here However this time staff was incredibly rude food was wrong and was told cooked food was unavailable when people next to us had cooked food really disappointing

A 70p charge for alternative milk is the most I’ve ever experienced. Most places have scrapped this extra charge now and because of this just wouldn’t go back

I always come here as the coffee is fantastic and staff great, but today (Saturday) was horrendous. The 3 girls who served me were great and friendly. They said they would bring my drink and cake over and asked where I was sitting and I pointed to a table covered in stuff that needed clearing and she said OK. Two separate staff members brought over the coffee and cake and only the one took a single dirty plate away. The entire time i was sat surrounded by dirty used plates etc as seen in photo below. The tables around me were also covered in dirty stuff and they only seemed to clear those and not the tables where people were sat. The place wasn't massively busy and was adequately staffed. The table next to me complained as their food was taking ages and something was clearly burning and myself and another lady said how our eyes were burning from smoke fumes. Hoping to see improvements when I next go or they may need to look at hiring more proactive staff I would say. To balance the negativity though I will say the cake was delicious and normally I don't have a problem.

Extremely friendly staff and the food was amazing! Sadly, we arrived too late to order a cooked meal, but the ciabatta sandwich that was available in the glass cabinet was warmed and was great! So I'll definitely be coming back earlier to try the hot food next time!

Jamaica Blue is the gem of Eastgate Street!! It has a friendly atmosphere, the staff are smiley and helpful and of course the food and drinks are delicious and nicely presented.

Friendly staff, with a tasty meal and coffee. I had an American Diner breakfast and cannot complain. I’d recommend getting scrambled eggs over fried, as the fried egg lets the food down by a tad. Portions are average sized, wouldn’t hurt to have an extra sausage (lol). Thank you, Jamaica Blue, for a great start to my day!

Now visited a couple of times and it’s always delivered on quality food and quality service. Much nicer than many of the coffee chains.

I come here quite regularly. Service is always excellent and food quality is great. Prices have gone up recently (understandable), but it still represents great value for money.

So first of all the table when you sit it was disgusting and not whipped. Front staff nice nothing to say about it, then the food. We order 2 full English breakfast. The bread was hard rock , bacon overcooked and dry, eggs overcooked to , so absolutely not worthing the money. It the management put.more attention into cleaning and atmosphere will be more attractive At the.moment nor having any intention to come.back.or recommended.

Sorry to say had a full breakfast £9.90 I wouldn’t have paid £3 for I have always enjoyed this cafe. The fried eggs well undercooked and vile toast you could not eat because it was like a rock black pudding don’t think it was even cooked sausage was half cooked. The gentleman cooking needs a good lesson in cooking

Beans cold, mushrooms tepid. Tomatoes were charred on top but solid/fresh under. These would be good either raw or cooked not bit of both. Used to be cherry tomatoes and they were delicious. Ordered 2 extra hash browns, had to ask for them when the beans were sent back to be warmed, nearly eaten our breakfast when they arrived. The breakfast seems to be same price but different each time we visit. Had to ask for butter. White hot chocolate states cream on menu, none on it . Stock was running out. Each time no pie, there was no ham either Staff friendly .

Generally a good reliable service. Unusual for things to go wrong or take a long time. Nice coffee with a good choice of alternative milks. Would definitely recommend giving this place a go.

When visiting Gloucester (Work) I stumbled into Jamaica Blue about 6 Months ago , and I must say the food is excellent, and so is the coffee, this isn't a one of review as I have been a lot, and had varied food items. The food is prepared & cooked fresh (Which is unique nowadays amongst the large chain coffee shops), I do personally love their smashed avocado on sourdough with extra sides of Tomato & Bacon ! The staff are friendly and attentive, and from my visits seem to genuinely care that customers are happy, and you get service with a smile. Like I said, this is not a one off review, but of multiple visits.

Lovely coffee and friendly staff. Really disappointed with the complete lack of gluten free food, not a single item on the menu was available for two celiacs. I find this really poor and such a shame as there were plenty of vegan options.

A great cafe in the city centre, homemade food, good coffee & the frittata is lovely for a light snack and highly recommended. Much nicer than the high street big brands IMO.

My wife and I had an American brunch which set the day up lovely. My only criticism was being greeted.with the endearment term ‘my sweetie’ when ordering the food, I’m in my early 50’s and it just felt a little patronising and condescending, maybe I just look very young for my age?

We walked in at 16.30 to be told only drinks available and only the tables at the front could be used— asked what time the shut and the reply was 6pm… This certainly didn’t make us feel welcome or want to come back. ☹️

Food and coffee was lovely, shame there were tables left with dirty plates and fruit flies and although our table had coffee stains on it now one cleaned it when we sat or when they brought coffee / food

They could have gotten 5*. Tea, milk chocolate, and bites were lovely and so was the staff. I'm less happy about the toilet. In one word 'disgusting'.

Wir waren hier zu Dritt essen und haben ein typisch englisches Frühstück sowie zwei Frittata-Muffins zum Mittagessen bestellt 😄 Alles war unglaublich lecker. Vor allem die Frittata als auch die Würstchen, die ja sonst entweder überwiegend aus Brot oder aus Fett bestehen. Diese hier waren wirklich sehr köstlich. Das Personal war auch sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Was no doubt a lovey breakfast we had at this wonderful place in Gloucester. We had scrambled and fried eggs on toast bread, egg benedict as well as pushed eggs on avocado and were all finely cooked and served. We also ordered couple of pancakes which were tasty as well. The hot drinks including flatwhite, latte, cappuccino and tea were all outstanding. Despite being busy, the staff was so lovely and maintaining the nice smile all the time. We loved the place interior and the overall atmosphere. Was indeed a wonderful experience, and will repeat if ever have a chance.

We had the American brunch, a black coffee and a oat cappuccino. The food was amazing, the coffee however was poor - tasted like instant coffee which was very disappointing. Staff were general pretty friendly and helpful.

Very pore service 45 mins before anything come 1 guy on till and 1 girl serving you all food is freeze dried and heated back up and they say they got stuff on menu when they don't sell it very poor will deff not be going back there again
