Jamaica Blue in South Cambridgeshire

It was fine. I do think hot numbers just down the road is better in terms of food quality although often very busy. Jamaica blue feels more like a clubhouse. A useful amenity if you're there for the golf, but I wouldn't make the trip over the alternatives

Visited for the 4 time dec 18 as birthday treat rare occasion for easy 4 generations of family lunch the service was appalling the food came out one person at a time with over hour wait first the meals were a mixture of poorly prepared dreadfully cooked bagel cremated not toasted and the inside cold had to repeatedly ask staff what was happening lads behind counter clueless and a lady with cropped blonde grey hair crossly told us that they had people off sick in kitchen didn’t stay around long enough to hear anything else my meal only arrived after every body else had finnished only could eat tiny bit ruined the day will not be returning again

The service was painfully slow, and when we tried to ask about our order, the staff was rude and dismissive. It felt like they were more interested in chatting with each other than helping customers. I visited Jamaica Blue with a friend today and I'd like to say I was amazed to see how much has changed in a few months. My last visit( about one year ago) wasn't very good so I was reluctant to return. I am glad I did. I had a very tasty lunch and a perfect cup of coffee . The staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't realise that our food didn't come with chips, but this young lady ( which I think she is Tthe manager) sorted it very quick for us As it's improved it's service and the food I will definitely return and recomend this place again.

Lovely breakfast, lovely coffee, good service, really relaxing atmosphere.

Dis liked it, staff seem to be unable to clear tables at least 9 with crockery and cups on while we waited. . Ran out of chips at lunch time. Couldn't do milkshakes. Ordered chicken burger and got served beef, which was warm not hot. Need staff with more experience of running a cafe. I won't be coming back.

Sadly this cafe has gone down hill. As amazing as the menu is the last few times I’ve been I’ve had to send food back. Customer service is lacking too but I think that’s due to young staff not being trained in any way. Didn’t get a chance to complain as I wasn’t asked how our meal was, despite waiting 15 mins just for our drinks after chasing them.

I have to rewrite my last review… I previously left a negative review as my last experience a few weeks ago wasn’t the greatest. I was contacted by Adele who runs the cafe.She not only apologised for my experience she also took the time to chat with me via email and asked that I revisit them. I met a friend there for brunch today and what a difference.. The food was lovely, well presented and tasty and the staff were great. Thank you for taking the time to check in and changing my mind. I look forward to visiting again.

Excellent food, drinks and service. Surprisingly good value for money for a golf club as well

Every time i go either something is missed off my order or it takes forever to arrive. Today i saw the guy holding my plate behind the counter while i was sat at my table, he was chatting with his colleagues whilst holding it (bare in mind this was 10 minutes after ordering) i thought oh he’s on his way to me. But no, he was only just taking the plate to the kitchen to heat it up. Another 10 mins later my food arrived. Another time i went, i paid for my drink and it never turned up. The next time i went i waited 5/10 mins for our drinks then went to ask for them and was rudely told they were on their way. If you didn’t completely forget the last time and take ages to get a drink out the fridge (it wasn’t even a hot drink) then i wouldn’t need to ask! Also, the place desperately needs air con and i’m not the only customer to mention this as i overheard people saying it’s too hot. The mini golf is the only ok thing there. Although even that isn’t very challenging even for kids. Also, the food in the cafe is hardly ever available. I was lucky to have some today despite waiting half hour even without it being busy there.

5 of the last 8 times I've been they've not been serving food which is exceedingly frustrating, it's now at the point I'd just assume they don't serve food and only go if you're expecting a beverage.

Don’t come for lunch if you’re hungry. Staff are nice but the last three times we’ve come here they have been unable to serve food. If the cafe is moderately busy, or they have a large table put in an order, they shut down food service. Won’t come for food again for fear of disappointment and hangryness.

Good food and quick service. Golf course and mini golf course both fun.

Like every other hospitality venue they struggle during half term. They laid on a kids dinosaur event for young golfers and when everybody finished they came in for a cake and coffee and it was pandemonium. Training is always key and if they had just explained there would be a long wait, even for three hot drinks then you can manage your expectations. It's a shame that there is no common sense in how to train young new staff who are doing there best.

Cool venue with huge windows overlooking the driving range. Food was OK but way overpriced. Plus our baked beans were missing. My wife's avocado on toast was a joke, a small smear of avocado. Sausages and bacon were nice though along with the coffees. But at a cost of £30 for 2 adult breakfasts, a kids breakfast and 2 drinks I wouldn't return. Maybe just drinks next time.

I ordered a child's cheese and ham toastie - we've had previously and my son enjoyed it. After quite a wait I went to enquire - only a few tables occupied, not busy. The girls response " oh I forgot" lifting up the sandwich toaster to see a very flat overcooked sandwich. The said sandwich arrived - more bacon consistency than ham. I wish I'd taken a photo as I wouldn't have fed it to my dog!! I took it to the counter as my son rightly refused to eat it - the girl said that's what it was, no offer to replace or an apology. I felt really disappointed - too many young inexperienced staff. No customer service. Sadly we won't waste our money eating there again.

Cold breakfast. Nothing like what you see on line. For that price you can and should go elsewhere. All the golf stuff is great and we loved it but this cafe is a no no.

The coffee was fine but the quiche I had for lunch was dry and the pastry was rock hard . It was very difficult to cut so I ended up leaving a lot of it. I complained to a waitress but there was no response or apology. I’ll stick to just the coffee in future !……

Great coffee and cake. Awful service. Delivered the coffees. Then nearly 20 mins and two reminders, cake arrived. Get it together and it would be a great little coffee place to rival others closeby.

We visited here during a busy bank holiday, and I wouldn't recommend others doing so. Although the coffee was nice (hence the two stars), the food was not. We had finished our drinks long before our food arrived. The breakfast I had featured items that ranged from luke-warm to stone cold, the plate itself was not heated and my guess is that they don't have a heated pass to keep food warm. The toast was barely toast, and after I had asked for some butter to go on it, I was given something so solid it could not be spread. It was also allegedly sourdough, but it looked and tasted like cheap white sliced bread to me. My partner's pancakes arrived when I had nearly finished my own food, I'm glad I didn't wait for both meals, my own would have been completely cold by that point. The poor guy who delivered them did apologise, he must have known things were not running smoothly back there. All in all, pretty disappointing. I can only guess that they were completely swamped with the bank holiday crowd, so regrettably I doubt I'll be giving them another chance.

Nicely done much more comfortable well done

Such a shame. Must have caught them at a busy time but after waiting for 45 minutes and chasing 3 times the kids toasties were barely toasted (stone cold in the middle). A further 15 minutes later my wife's dish and mine came out stone cold with a raw egg. My complaint also felt like a massive inconvenience. They offered to refund the two cold dishes which we refused to eat. My daughter had to eat hers as she is type 1 diabetic and had been given insulin. There was little interest in the fact she needed food quite quickly. Nice coffee but avoid at busy times until they get their act together. Could have been handled a lot better.

Nice venue. The staff are friendly & the food is excellent. Sausage bagel is fantastic. Great coffee too. Lovely views of the golf range & surroundings. Recommended

Great place for coffee and cake. As you have the views to the golf course, it is very relaxing. The pastries are very nice, I'm a big fan of their chocolate muffins (see photos attached). The service is good, the girls are very kind, although the oldest woman is not like them, she is usually not very nice. In general, I recommend it to have a chilled time.
