The last time I ordered from this restaurant was over 9 years ago and I don't know how many owners ago. I stopping ordering from here because the curry was always greasy. However, with the new owners I decided to try it again and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food was top notch, and the price was excellent. I was also glad that they were not shy in adding spices to increase the heat level of their dishes.

Butter chicken was banging, bloke is friendly and my food was ready in no time. He also gave me 2 extra garlic naan 😁

I went there to have a quick dinner in late afternoon. I ordered a lamb curry with rice. After the 10min meal, the owner charged me £15. I argued and later he said the menu is out-dated and should not accurate. At last he charged me £12 instead of £15. At the end, I asked the owner if the menu will be updated but he said I am good customer and I can ‘enjoy’ the price in the ‘old menu’ whenever I come next time. When I went home, I had a glance on the menu but found out the exact price for my meal should be £6.99 (lamb) and £3.99 (coloured rice) with a total of £10.98 instead of £12. I was cheated like a dumb.

I ordered some food for delivery. Came quickly, was nice and hot and really tasty. Very happy with this meal and will order again.

So this is the first time back since it was under new management. The owner, who was a nice happy fella, let me know he had a great chef and I was not disappointed. So I ordered a chicken saag, the chicken was plenty, big and cooked great. The saag was amazing, not soggy or slimey like some places I have ordered from in the past. Now I'm not Gordon Ramsey, but that chicken saag was the best saag I have ever eaten !!! Definitely going back for more !!!!

Sausages not cooked properly (still pink inside!!), no beans, no black pudding, snotty thin eggs. Really not impressed.

Avoid avoid avoid This place is a absolute shame. They are on uber eats advertise as star cafe on crow Lane you think your ordering from them but its the cheeky Indian shop up the rd. Disgusting food confronted about it he sounded like one of them people that call to scam you same way they try to con you this guy got the exact words tone and attitude. This guy is buying frozen diced chicken from Iceland half defrosting it in a microwave amd presenting it as chicken mayonnaise. You will get ill eating from here. What vile people it you didn't know better you would think this was star cafe on crow Lane amd the rubbish that comes out this kitchen would absolutely destroy the real star cafes representation. Of I was the owner of star cafe I will take legal action before these savages ruin there good representation amd business. I ordered ham egg and chips this what the kids got burnt the bread wasn't even placed the right way together just thrown together I don't know if that is Butter or palm oil on the bread the chips were stone cold the driver arrived on his phone I could here him from the top of the street having personal conversation. Chuck food down took pin whilst talking on phone and walked off honestly the manners were non existing and the food was disgraceful I highly suspect environmental health would close this place down instantly maybe a quick immigration check may be in order.

By far the worst food I’ve ordered

Did not eat in but I frequently purchase breakfast during my morning shifts nearby this location and the food is always excellent. Now, I'm not exactly experienced in the field of Indian food but I wanted to try it out, having spoken to the owner as frequently as I have and per his recommendation I tried the Pilau Rice with a Chicken Madras. The portions felt very generous with a large helping of rice and several fairly large chunks of Chicken for the Madras, it was also not too spicy (but I honestly wouldn't have minded a little more spice) and the aforementioned chicken was very succulent, delicious really. I've seen some of the more negative reviews for this location and I cannot help but think that it's natural that restaurants make mistakes from time to time, I think this place is absolutely worth a try whether it's for breakfast or dinner.

Everything was crushed and not even in their boxes, everything had been covered in egg. Beans were freezing cold. One baguette was meant to be only sausage and cheese but has bacon in too

Wrong food, it comes in a Ridiculously small portion asked for popadoms they sent 2 and they were spicy and seasoned not plain korma had bits of tinfoil in it pure silver the sagaloo is 2 tbsp worth absoultey ridiculous first and LAST time ordering. Plus over done with chilli, as its far too hot. nan bread has no flavour and chunks of garlic, plus it was nearly £45 and food was terrible. Will not be ordering again. I usually give a shop 1 or 2 go's to try it out. But that is a no go again for food and for price. Rubbish. Should be a salt and chilli shack with juice as only its basically chilli salt juice, and i mean salt as everything tastes of it and no meat. Must be a lamb shortage as i asked for 2 baltis and had about 15 tiny cubes between the 2. And a chicken shortage as well with the chicken . Poor standards 👎👎

Uber eats delivery not complete and the owner hung up on me when I asked to get the missing items - apparently the only option was for me to drive 3 miles to pick up poppadums.

We had takeaway from here last night. My partner had biriani and I has sheek kebab and prawn puri. The food was absolutely awful. All you could taste was salt on every single dish. You couldn't even taste Indian spices as it was over salted. We had to throw it all and have cheese on toast. To add insult I paid for an extra mint sauce and that was the only one I got ..usually get one with each starter. Salad wasn't good either. Never again the absolute worst Indian we have ever had. Too late for us...insulted to be served food that is totally inedible. It is as though someone tipped salt over food on purpose. Just awful. Will be steering clear of here in future

Ordered a takeaway from here tonight, the chicken korma was just watery sauce and small bits of chicken - never known a korma before to be spicy. The chicken dopiaza was extremely spicy I couldn’t even eat it. The lamb tikka balti tasted absolutely nothing like a balti - 1st time ordering from this place and never ever again will I be ordering from you. Our whole order was a waste of money I think the only good thing was the chips. Also advice to anybody ordering from here order boiled rice instead of the pilau rice 🤢. Absolutely disgusting food!

We had such a wonderful experience! Indian food was delicious, home-made and fresh. The service is outstanding, they make you feel at home: they even asked us about our preferences and if we wanted music in the background. Great job Guys! Totally recommended.

Had the star bumper breakfast and a breakfast baguette. It was great. Got delivered to the door and and payed by card. So easy and friendly service. Food packaged up very well. generous portions. Cooked well and good value for money.

Ordered a Chicken Madras and Chicken Korma. the food arrived quickly but it has definitely changed since the jalasha staff have left. The madras had cardamom pods floating around in the sauce which I had to fish out, I have never ordered a curry like this before. There was also either fennel chunks or star anise, adding a liqorice taste that i did not enjoy. The korma had a level of spice to it that my partner did not like. I wont be repeating custom here which is a shame as the last chef really knew how to make a good curry.

We had Garlic Naan, with saag chicken curry is good combination, Chilli chicken is very nice.

Had a dine in. Saag chicken and Jalfrezi with Naan is just heaven. Definitely recommend this curry place with dine in.

Shame its not Jalesha anymore! Food delivered very quickly, luke warm and greasy. Poppadoms were stale, very little meat in the keema nan. No salad with the mixed grill, just bulked out with large pieces of pepper! The food was edible but we won't be ordering from here again.

I must say, the experience was truly delightful. The highlight of my meal was definitely the dal tarka – it was simply outstanding!

Enjoyed the curry but we had poppadoms that were all stale and the mango chutney was so runny it just run off the poppadoms was very disappointing especially as it was our first time using the star Indian.

Well that was very disappointing stale poppadoms asked for all pickles got 3 the same and 1 other the lamb dansak was lentils with 3x pieces of lamb and lentils very hard not coming back shame as we have been ordering from here for years gone downhill the last year but tonight well it was rough

UPDATE - 7 November My money has now been refunded which is good but still none the wiser as to what is happening. Take care of placing your order online. ORIGINAL - 31 October Placed an order online last Friday. Took my money but didn’t deliver the food. Drove around to the restaurant to find it is closed. Told by the chinese next door that they’ve closed down. Please don’t order online as they’ll take your money and you’ll get nothing for it. Have tried to call but no response. Very poor. Shame as the food was excellent.

Saag aloo was tasteless,dry, potatoes tasted like boiled potatoes, garlic nan had spinach all threw middle of it and end was partly burned and the mushroom rice was again overloaded with spinach n hardly a mushroom in it.

We had Jalasha Special, it tasted fine but was too salty for us. They replaced our order with a Chicken Taj(no charge) , which was fine. No quibble. We will order again. Excellent customer service.

unacceptable. they accepted the order then they announced a delay of more than an hour and then they canceled the order after 2 hours of waiting. unacceptable behavior!!! if you can't secure your customers' orders, don't accept them from the start. very disappointed. not respectful of the customer.

Food arrived 40 mins late, cold. With one of the main items missing, I rang them to tell them and they said they would bring it. 1 hour later still nothing so I rang up again, to which they said there was “no driver” so couldn’t bring it anymore. Also the naan breads appeared to be microwaved as they were hard and chewy. I will not be ordering from here again, abysmal service. If I could give 0 starts I would. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Terrible service. Ordered food at 6.20. Had email to say 10 min delay so delivery at 7.32...at 7.45 I rang to be told driver just leaving.. he arrives,takes payment and leaves.. upon opening food,the biryani sauce is missing. I call up to complain to be told we will send out. An hour later still nothing. I call to be told can't bring it,so next time. I said there won't be a next time.i want some money back. Apparently a driver will be posting me some through door later. Hope he does,because if he doesn't I will be annoyed and will be posting the biryani back through your door.

Corr how do I start, long day of work then a couple hours fifa and a bash i was seriously hungry and wanted indian food. So boom I’ve looked on just eat and seen some indian takeaways looking kinda peak then jheez i see Jalasha and I was lokey sold. After some contemplation i decided to cop the ting, chicken madras rice two nan and boiled rice. All them elements combined to create a phenomenon. Food tasted nice and Ive never had a takeaway this fresh before in my 21 years of life. Rated you man got the 5*.

Just ordered a takeaway for our "traditional" Christmas eve dinner and decided to try this place as a change from our usual place, as it turns out it was a fantastic decision. Wow!! The food is incredible. Simple as that. Great food obviously takes time so I would suggest ordering an hour or so before you eat.

Their jalfrezi curries are the best i have ever tasted, and i have tasted many. The flavour is out of this world. Delicious quality food from very friendly staff. Must of ordered over ten times by now, that's how impressed we are!!! Thank you jalasha, for your excellent service.

Great takaway been here a few times now.

Collected three times but the third was not the best, not hot in temperature and more sauce than meat! Three people and six pieces of meat in each curry. Will go back again but better meal when the lady is there.
