Good Food, had brown stew chicken, tender and ample portion, nice restaurant, would go back

This restaurant is exceptional, we were 3 gentlemen asking for an even dinner at 09:15. We asked if we could come to have something to eat and we were pleasantly surprised. My friends had Seabase with Rice & peas. Brownstew Chicken with Rice Peas and I had boneless Jerk Chicken with R & P The food was really Nice and freshly cooked, the Waiting Staff were also so pleasant and really Nice. Everything about JAH JAH was really great with a fantastic Ambience great background music. We will definitely visit again when we are visiting the area again Truly a great place to eat Caribbean food. 10 out of 10 Mark

This was the first time for me to try Caribbean food and it was GREAT. The food was so delicious and tasty and enjoyed so much having it. I’m definitely coming back here. Ohhh also the service was so welcoming and polite. THANKS YOU🥰🥰

Visited of a quiet Monday night, lovely inside, nice music. Amazing staff, lovely waiter called Caroline, lovely chef (called alex?), super careful and accommodating with allergies. Really appreciated it. Delicious and hearty food, the goat was unbelievably tender. 2 for 16 cocktails are amazing value and super delicious. Would recommend 11/10

A delightful restaurant in Ramsgate, who knew you could get quality Caribbean cuisine deep on the Kent Coast. Well you lost certainly cam here. I had the curry goat, the others in my party the jerk chicken and all plates cleared. If you want to have something different while you're here in Ramsgate you won't go wrong with Jah Jah.

Was surprised at first to see Caribbean food available all the way out in Ramsgate and then pleasantly surprised at the results. Great food, Well presented and a really pleasant experience. Great food done well, nothing but compliments. Ordered through an app, so can't speak about atmosphere and service.

A little gem . Food was delicious. Lots to choose from . And the Rum list is also great. Lots of other drinks and cocktails on the list too. Drink and food good value for money too. Caroline was very attentive and Alex cooked our food to perfection……Will definitely be returning

The food we had was amazing! The goat in the curry melted in your mouth. The burrito had the perfect ratio of all the fillings and the mac and cheese tasted very nice! The flavours all worked perfectly together. Can’t forget to mention that the waitress was very friendly, all made for a great time! Would highly recommend this placeto anyone

Great little find! The starters and mains were out of this world. The friendly and prompt service from the lovely Bea was awesome and we will definitely be back when we are in town again.

JAH JAH is our go to for a tasty affordable family meal whenever we are in Ramsgate. Tasty food. We recommend the chicken stew, curry goat, loaded fries and panko calamari. The cocktails are pretty awesome as well. We were served by Bea during our last visit and despite being the owner server on shift, she was super friendly and attentive and managed a difficult customer (we witnessed) with friendliness and professionalism.

I don't often leave reviews but on this occasion I felt it was well deserved. Upon entering we were greeted by a lovely and smart girl called Caroline. She was very sweet, polite and helpful throughout our meal and did everything to ensure we were happy with our choices. Alex was very helpful too and gave us ideas on what we should try. The place was very cosy and beautiful lights which gave the feel of being in a special place. Their Curry Goat was top tier and Loaded fires was mega filing, cooked to perfection and a perfect portion size. Sauces were unique. Overall I will eat here again and recommend people to try it.

My partner and I bumped into JAH JAH on our way back from the beach and decided to give it a try and I’m so glad we did. I understand it’s quite a new addition to Ramsgate’s High Street eateries and the restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but given it’s a Monday night, that’s not too much of a surprise. We were welcomed warmly and were able to sit where we wished. Caroline, our server, gave us menus and allowed us as much time as we needed to look through - we didn’t actually need much time, as we had snapped a pic of the menu on our way past earlier and had a rough idea of what we might order. We ordered our drinks from the cocktail menu (2 for £16) - a round each of Reggae Punch’s and Hurricanes (both delicious). When we ordered, Caroline made some suggestions about complimentary side dishes we might like to try and was clearly knowledgeable about the menu and happy to advise and answer questions about the food. Our starters were the Calamari and the Mutton croquettes, which came with a selection of sauces. We mentioned that we were planning on sharing our dishes and Caroline kindly brought us an additional plate each, so we could serve ourselves. Our mains were Brown stew chicken, with rice and peas and Jerk Chicken Mac n Cheese, plus a side of Festivals. We love Caribbean food and JAH JAH doesn’t disappoint. All of the dishes were well seasoned, fresh, rich, full of flavour and cooked perfectly - the chicken in particular was moist and delicious. It’s also worth mentioning that the portions are extremely generous. Thankfully, Caroline was happy to box up the food we couldn’t finish, so we could take it away and enjoy it again later. I wish that I were able to review the divine sounding desserts too, alas our tummies were just too full to contemplate more food and so we paid our bill and headed out. I would highly recommend you give JAH JAH a go if you are in Ramsgate. We will definitely eat there again, when we’re here next…..and I’ll definitely be ordering dessert next time.

Absolutely beautiful food, gorgeous drinks and hats off to our waiter Caroline who was delightful. Caroline helped us choose from the menu because everything sounded fantastic so we were spoilt for choice, her suggestions were certainly correct! Absolutely divine. The chefs at the back could’ve smiled a bit more, it was a shame because their food was incredible but themselves not very reassuring / welcoming. Me and my boyfriend were constantly being watched in what felt like judgment, we assumed because we are both men? Every time we looked at them they looked away. I’m sure they were lovely gentlemen, but perhaps best to have a think of how you’re interacting with your customers, if you’re going to stare at least crack a smile! ☺️ Caroline on the other hand, made us feel completely welcome and thankfully made our visit an extremely pleasant one! Cheers to you Caroline!! Overall, great visit!!

So, 6 of us decided to try this place. In Ramsgate for the weekend, we all love a bit of Jamaican food. It did not disappoint. In fact the whole experience was spot on, Caroline looked after us so well, nothing was too much trouble, she was fun professional & serves great cocktails. Jerk chicken was amazing as was the brown stew chicken. Go there you’ll love it!

A great find on a little break to the Kent coastline. Pleasantly delighted at the dominoes on the table. Nice touch. Reminiscent of Jamaica bars where locals gather and play and drink rum and red stripe together. Thank you for the friendly service and the tasty food. Portions proper 👌🏽

Lovely little restaurant by the sea. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Did not expect to find a Jamaican/Caribbean style restaurant by the seaside! The food was really good, the rice cooked well, the goat cooked well, the curry delicious and the savoury dumplings were so moreish! Will need to come back to try the jerk chicken and all the other goodness!

Me and my partner were visiting from London. We are very used to Caribbean food and have a taste for spice. We ordered the calamari and spicy fries to start. Fries were lovely and delightfully spicy. I ordered the stew chicken and my partner the curry goat both with rice and peas. Both very tasty but definitely needed more spice. We did report this and were told the locals complained and it was adapted because of this. My response, the locals need to get some b@llo@. If you’re going for Caribbean food you expect the spice. Maybe some milder dishes added to the menu but keeping the authenticity is important. Pudding was the banana bread which was delicious.

Came here with my wife for the Bank Holiday bottomless brunch in May 2024. The chicken stew was in a delicious thick sauce and they kept the pitchers of cocktails coming (as much as you want for 2 hours). Cheesecake available as an extra on the menu (which was really good, too).The waitress, Trinity, was friendly and looked after us throughout. We even discovered the joy of dominoes between courses. This was the first time we have been here, but we will definitely be back.

Food was great, Trinity, our waitress, was the real highlight. Unfortunately, we only had 67 pence in cash to tip her. If only you could tip on the card machine

Paid £60 to receive no coleslaw with the food like it usually comes. Also “spicy fries” unseasoned! Very disappointed. Food standards have dropped could have cooked it better myself.

One of the best places to eat in Thanet. Enormous portions, super flavourful. Absolutely delicious - should have more peas in the rice and peas though.

Caroline was very attentive and the food was very quick to the table. Nice range of runs as well! Good vibes and a nice place.

Total random stop. Best Caribbean food I've ever had. Staff were really lovely. Can't recommend the jerk chicken mac n cheese, jerk chicken loaded fries and calamari enough. Mojito was fab too.

Just got back from a lovely evening, service was leisurely, wouldn't say slow, everything was chilled and a really nice frienly atmosphere, staff were attentive but not always buzzing around and food was wonderful. Very hot and fresh and a delicious change. The Reggae Punch was scrummy. Look forward to coming back again

I’ve been following Jah Jah for a while on social media and I was so excited to finally try them! I wasn’t disappointed. Amazing food, great flavours. Can’t wait to visit in the restaurant too! ☺️☺️

Beautiful from start to finish

Had gotten takeaway from here twice before and really enjoyed the food. Drive from Margate to pick up tonight and all the way back to realise that they hadn’t included any of the mains we’d ordered and paid for in the bag. I phoned and they offered to make them and refund the mains if I’d come back. Drive 20 minutes back and they handed me the remade food without an apology and told me to have a good night. So im heading back to cold sides have spent a total of more than 1 hour in a car with two trips to this restaurant. Good food, but after this experience I doubt I’ll be back anytime soon. If I’d known they’d “forget” they offered a refund I wouldn’t have bothered with another 40 minute round trip. Super frustrating and annoying.

We had our anniversary meal here and food was pretty special. Each dish was really flavourful. Brown stew chicken with rice and peas was pretty authentic and probably the best we’ve had outside of Jamaica. Also rate the festivals. Delish.

Delicious goat curry, fish. Superb attentive and helpful waitress. Wine list a bit sparse - but they do have a huge selection of rum.

Was dubious about eating in here as I'm not a lover of really hot spicy food.... But wow had chicken stew it was out of this world... Loved it.. Lovely place with friendly staff. Will deffo be going back.. Highly recommend : -)

We had take out for the first time from here and all I can say is wow got exactly what we wanted and how we wanted it everything was done to perfection great service and when we went to collect it the atmosphere was lovely definitely eating here again !!!

Best Caribbean food I have EVER eaten EVER

Food was perfect, almost pulled the wife for a dance too...tunes playing throughout put me back in some old time business.

Had the curry goat and they also do a kids menu including Mac and cheese which was really handy. Good sized portions. Just a warning but the curry goat is cooked on the bone. It seemed a bit thin initially but when mixed with rice it was the correct consistency. Would recommend. We'll try the margate one next time as it's closer to us. The restaurant itself is decorated really well too. Quick and attentive service which suited us.

Chips were like cardboard, chicken was as dry as the Sahara desert. The whole meal lacked flavour. Very disappointed. Won’t order from here again.

The Jerk chicken wasn’t jerking, it was very bland, sea bass wasnt crispy and lacked presentation, loaded jerk fries was ok, but all food was Luke warm at most. The mock tails came in a martini glass and weren’t value for money !The staff weren’t friendly and didn’t come over to us at any point after our food was served the lady didn’t even smile.

Came here last year for a birthday meal. Our order was taken quickly but it was over an hour before our food came out. Another couple had come, eaten and left before our food even arrived. I kept asking as was told it was on its way. I then asked to just pay for the drinks and we would go somewhere else, the waitress then said our food had just been served so we stayed. We thought the sauce was served on the side but it was all over the chicken and extremely spicy. So I'd recommend asking for it on the side if you struggle with spice. Plantain was delicious. Don't think we will return because of the incredibly slow service.

A friend of mine suggested I try this restaurant and I'm so happy I did! In addition to the other dishes I've tried being so uniquely delicious, the curry goat with rice and peas is an absolute 20/10. Beautiful environment/staff and the chef is quite lovely. Highly recommend!

We were a bit disappointed this evening, i have eaten from Jah Jah’s many times and the food taste is always excellent but because of the delivery time tonight, awaiting a driver etc, we had to heat the food when it arrived. Won’t stop me continuing to order from here, its awesome!

Food was very bland. We all agreed the Jerk chicken was bland & had no kick whatsoever, the chicken burger was tough and over cooked and the Jerk mac was flavourless and arrived a bit cold.

Delicious food, tasty ingredients and a combination of balanced flavours. The staff is polite and welcoming staff. Will definitely recommend 😊🙏

Fancied trying something a little different and was pleasantly surprised at JAH JAH's. Had fully loaded fries with jerk chicken which tasted amazing, full of flavour and cooked to perfection (well done chef), friendly and welcoming waitress with perfect customer service. Would recommend this resturant and its food to anyone! Thank you for a great evening with the best food I've ever tasted!

I was hoping for a flavorful, spicy Caribbean chicken meal but was served basically barbecue chicken. It did taste good and was perfectly cooked. I had a side of mac n cheese that looked great but a bit bland. The restaurant was very busy and the kitchen was slow, so maybe it wasn't their best night.

Loved it, lovely Caribbean food. I had the Jerk Chicken, spicy but not too hot and my better half had Ital curry, which was really nice for a veggie dish. 3 cocktails and a plantain side £51 which I thought was good for the quality we had Will be visiting again

Had a tasty hot meal and dangerously delicious cocktails. Walked in no booking, no issue. We were the only table for most of our visit...midweek evening...that's the only reason for low atmosphere score.
