Had an amazing meal here recently! The service was top notch. I would highly recommend the mutton kothu - portions are huge and incredibly tasty. I also want to say that our server Ravi was excellent, definitely made the atmosphere&service a 5/5

Simply delicious food. We had quite a large group and Ravi looked after us spectacularly. Given the size of the group we got to try a lot of different dishes and everything was brilliant!

Great Sri Lankan restaurant in Tooting! Love Jaffna, love Sri Lanka love the food! Ravi looked after us and didn’t judge us for ordering half the menu, which only came to £23 per head!

Ravi uncle went above and beyond for our dinner group today. He was pleasant throughout the entire dinner service, got the chef to make an item that wasn’t on the menu (paper roast (dosa)) because my aunty was really looking forward to eating it, and even accommodated our request to make a takeaway order quicker than usual, so that it could be delivered (by Uber eats) in time for when my dad got home from work. Ravi uncle and Santhosh Anna together have confidently made my family believe that Jaffna House is the Sri Lankan restaurant in South London with the best customer service. They both quickly served us our food and smiled throughout, always topping up our water and everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight! Thank you to Ravi uncle and Santhosh Anna! One thing to note for the owner though, is that the QR code you put on the small cards to leave Google reviews, don’t work!

What a great evening. I had booked this restaurant for a 60th birthday party of a good friend and a group of 16. The Jaffna Team was nothing but helpful, offering a buffet but also a la carte, which we went for in the end as we had some drop outs. When we arrived Ravi and the whole team were welcoming us and we were led to the separate bar area at the back..from then on Ravi was our master of ceremony and we ordered some dishes from my last holiday in Lanka and some recommendations I had not yet tried. The food was spectacular, and these are not my words but the group's! I particularly loved the aubergine curry, Chicken 65 and the Kothu. Everything was fresh and just the right spice level. The kitchen can cook to your wishes. I am very happy we went there and will return soon with my family and more friends

was disappointed with my recent visit. The food was average at best, and the service was shockingly poor. The girl serving us seemed completely uninterested in customer care. She asked me to hand her the menu from the table instead of taking a couple of steps to pick it up herself. Ten minutes later, someone from the kitchen brought it over to the table without so much as a “hello.” No basic courtesy at all. As for the wattalappam, it was a disaster. It tasted more like a bland pudding with a sugary layer on top. I couldn’t even finish half of it and decided to leave. I used to be a regular here back in the day when Jaffna House was excellent, but sadly, those days are gone.

You can tell this location is one of the oldest Tamil restaurant and takeaways in the city. The quality and taste is definitely well done and you know they have refined it over time to get it just right. A very nice throwback to the takeout restaurants of the 90's(that is a compliment by the way, as a lot of places these days can be rather cookie cutter). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is prepared fresh and fast. Definitely check it out if you are in the area. Only a few minutes(approx 2 min) from Tooting Broadway station.

This place serves the best mutton rolls about my wife just ordered 16 of them and within 2 hours 8 are already gone. Shes an animal. We also had their THALI on a Friday which had a great array of dishes and a great introduction to Sri Lankan food

A real gem! We were looking for an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant in London, and after a friend’s recommendation we decided to try Jaffna House, and we’re so glad we did! Every dish was full of flavor and you could really tell the ingredients were fresh and high-quality. The staff were super friendly and the whole place had a really nice vibe. We’ve been back a few times over the past few months and the quality has remained consistently outstanding, if anything, it’s gotten even better! To be honest, we’ve tried a pricey Michelin-starred spot in central London but it didn’t even come close to the experience we’ve had at Jaffna House. Highly recommended!

We had Gajan serve us and he was really friendly and the Kandy Kiss cocktail was particularly good 😊

31/10/2024 (Diwali Night) **A Truly Homely Experience with Incredible Food!** I can’t recommend Jaffna House enough! From the moment we arrived, Ravi & staff made us feel like part of the family. They were so warm and welcoming, really going out of their way to make us feel at home. The food was amazing—started with the flavorful fish cutlet and chicken devil, followed by mutton curry, fish curry, parotta, and veech roti. Everything was fresh, delicious, and full of depth. Accompanied by a delicious Nelli Crush and Cream Soda :D We took away a Watalappam to enjoy with an evening tea, it was an amazing treat. Ravi and staff were very considerate and friendly. If you’re looking for a welcoming atmosphere and fabulous Sri Lankan Tamil food, Jaffna House is a must-visit!

Excellent service, food was true to what you'd expect at home, the staff were accommodating to my spice references. I would specifically like to mention Ravi’s kind and welcoming manner he made sure everything was okay and the food was as we had requested. Will be coming more regularly thanks to him.

Family restaurant with very good food and drinks. The people who work there not only helped us in their role as waiters, but were also perceived by us as very caring and almost like a family. Highly recommended, also because of the price and especially for larger groups (‹ 15 people). Just be careful with the spiciness😅 and ask if necessary.

Came in earlier today mainly because the local pub’s app for ordering wasn’t working and staff paid no mind. I’m so glad I did! Instead of supporting a chain I got a good restaurant with nice staff and amazing food! Would highly recommend. Edit: came back the next day for dinner. Fantastic Restaurant all the food is extremely tasty with a great atmosphere and charming service. I am a big Curry fan an this is one of the best meals I have had. Especially enjoyed the devil squid but all delicious and thoroughly recommend.

The interiors felt very dated and a bit kitschy. Service was nice enough but not very professional. The food was also decent but not memorable in any way. It’s an okay place overall but probably wouldn’t return.

Food was absolutely delicious, and the menu differs from other Sri Lankan restaurants, offering more traditional food than restaurants in the area. Also, Ravi and other colleagues answered any questions we had, and were open to changing to spice level of some meals (to make them hotter)! I recommend trying the kothu!

The coconut chutney, sambar vada, and dosas, are all amazing! Reminded me of home! The owner/staff are super kind as well.

A chilled out restaurant, with nice decor and good service, but probably not the best dosa I've had in Tooting. The cashew fry wasn't anything exciting.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was cooked perfectly, served on time and tasted fantastic! I also tried a drink called a Columbo Mule and it was lovely! Thank you to our servers Ravi & Vaishnavi! I highly recommend!!

Very nice place, the food was incredible - great spicy-heat level for me, but on the same table we had someone who wanted a hotter meal and one that wanted barely any heat and they were happy to accommodate. Very friendly staff. The place is a little squished and quiet, so it probably isn't great when it's super busy as the volume will be high. Not the quickest service, but it's worth the wait for the great food.

Slightly run down I would say but lovely authentic south Indian food. The dosas were amazing!
