Lovely food tonight, all freshly cooked and roasting hot, fabulous quick service. Great sized portion! Can not fault it!!

I put an order in with difficulty , the girl on the phone asked 3 times for me to repeat the order and name ….then told me that that it would be ready for collection in 30 mins . I actually arrived 45 mins after the order had been placed expecting to simply pay and pick up the order more or less immediately . The girl took my money and checked on the order . And I waited .. 4 other people came in and were given their orders . I waited over 20 mins ~ eventually I asked why I had to wait when it was well over 45 mins since my original order .. I was told they were just busy . They obviously hadn’t even started to cook it .. mistakes can be made but there was no apology or explanation , no thanks for waiting etc .. I was completely disgusted by the lack of interest and rudeness. The food was mediocre . I shall never be going there again !

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered food arrived within 20 minutes. ordered a chicken curry, sauce was hot inside the chicken was freezing. Beef in black bean was chewy and again freezing cold. Rang up to be told we were liars and no one had ever complained of it being cold before and it wasn’t possible. According to them chicken curry had been cooked fresh as well as the rest of the order. So 10 minutes to cook whole order fresh then 10 minutes to deliver…. Asked for a new order that was hot to be told no they wouldn’t deliver us a new one and take the old order back. Finally reached an agreement of having to pick up our own order after paying delivery charges. Still awful food

Ordered roast duck with plum sauce, egg fried rice, pancake roll, all cooked in a spotless open kitchen! Meal was delicious. Ready to collect bang on time, friendly efficient staff. Thank you. Ps we were visiting for four nights staying at Hoburne Devon Bay. A two minute walk from the Jade Palace, we will be back! I’m the mean time go try it! Well worth it

So ordered a delivery told one hr then hr 15 mins later no food no call to say its delayed So I call no apology said 15 miss it be here 45 miss later no food disgracefully I work myself as delivery driver a call would of been nice to say delayed or told 2 hrs at beggining will never use again girl on phone customer service skills are zero Although wS looking forward to food as have had food before on collection basis Literally liars fobbing off customer so yes I cancelled order and got myself fish n chips

Best Duck Bamboo Shoots and water Chestnuts I have ever tasted. I always eat this meal when I have a Chinese. Even though it is not on the menu, can't understand why not but Chicken, Prawn and Beef are, they agreed to do it for me and it really was perfect.

This is my local Chinese takeaway ,not anymore . I don,t know what has happened price going up and quality going down . Chips where dry and tasted like cardboard and the prawn crackers no taste of prawn !

Absolutely disgusted having the phone slammed down on me because I tried to make a complaint. I had placed an order but the order I placed had not all been delivered. When I phoned them & told them I had not received all my order, I was then told it was my fault & the young person on the other end of the phone had read it back to me. If this was the case then i was overcharged (according to their present price list). This is now the third time I had not received all of my order (no fault of my own I hasten to add!). Appalling service!!!

Fab food, cooked perfectly. Reasonable wait for delivery, friendly driver. Can't fault at all. The only place we go for Chinese food as it's always top notch.

Excellent. Ordered a meal for all of the family. I explained that I don't finish work until 8 so please can I have it about that time. They said that it wasn't a problem. I got home from work on a Saturday evening and a few minutes later my tea arrived. Heaven. Everything I ordered was there. It didn't need heating up and it tasted great. If I'm ever in the waterside and anyone asks me if there's a good Chinese around I just point out the window at jades. It's not rocket science on a Saturday night look at the queue coming out of the place. John.

Title says it all, even nicer now on rainy days when I’m not waiting around in the shop, young delivery girl is always smiling and so polite when she arrives at the door which the kids love. Our go to Sunday treat dinner these days. Favourite dish - salt and pepper chicken - lovely!

Jades was always my 'go to Chinese' and I've given them some great reviews but this is the second takeaway meal that was very disappointing. Hubby had special chow mien and I had the chicken chow mien plus chips. The chicken was so bland you could have told me it was beef, pork or any meat, it was so tasteless only the colour told me it was chicken. There was no flavour in the sauce, it could have been watery gravy but can't say for sure. I did phone to let them know so hopefully they will do something about. I won't know as I won't be ordering from them again.

Highly recommended! We were put off our local Chinese due to some disappointing meals and local horror stories and we had to find somewhere new. Jade Palace is a little out of the way for us, but it is definitely worth the drive. The food is fresh and delicious. Not to mention you can see the chefs cooking the food to order and the kitchen looks spotless.

After trying a lot of Chinese takeaways in the area this is definitely the best ! everything looked so clean and you can see your food being cooked

Ordered a takeaway as we were staying in the Hoburne holiday park. It was very nice probably one of the best I've had away from home :-)

On holiday in a nearby campsite, they were able to deliver pretty much to the door, really helpful when enquiring about allergies and more than happy to do the order, friendly staff and great tasting food definitely using again

Now being a single pensioner after my wife passed away i find it really annoying thast the vast majority of takeaways will not home deliver without a minimum order of £15. How on earth can i eat that much food in one go. This place is diferent they will deliver a single meal to you with a smile on their faces. I ordered Roast duck in plum sauce and pancake rolls both were red hot and delicious when they arrived, i would give both a score of 10/10 for taste and quality. At last i can have a takeaway delivered again. Shame on all the other takeaways that will not deliver a single meal. How many single pensioners or people would love to have a decnet meal delivered even with the £2 delivery charge.

Staying at a local site we rang our order through and they told us what time they would have the meal ready for collection. There is car parking outside the premises, this can get busy but we were lucky so they were preparing our meal as we arrived. perfect service. excellent food, not surprised it comes highly rated

We had our order delivered to our apartment. It arrived on time, was piping hot, and delicious 😋 My dad is coeliac and they were very helpful when it came to his choices.

Having used this takeaway for many years we have never been disappointed by the food nor the staff so it is with a heavy heart I leave this review . Having used the delivery service on several occasions we thought we would do so again but after continuously trying to get through over 1 hr 40 mins we gave up . Maybe due to their loyal customers the phone service just can’t cope with demand and obviously needs to be addressed.

We were really looking forward to our Chinese meal. Arrived on time. Portion size good. Food presentation looked ok, not the same as the egg fried rice or chow main we’re used too. Soon disappointed as the food was tasteless, but prawn crackers were the best part of the meal.

Often prebook a delivery and give a time from here if unable to collect. , food is always delivered around time asked and piping hot, and absolutely delicious, use this chinese many times, and cannot fault it, staff always polite, my favourite has to be the salt pepper chilli chicken, and the duck dishes, .on visiting the premises it is always spotless, you can see them freshly preparing and cooking every meal , i love this place and its food,,definitely the best in torbay area. Highly recommend to all

Had high hopes of this takeaway meal, bought as a birthday celebration. Couldn't fault the portions, or the presentation. Unfortunately, it was totally tasteless. The best thing was the prawn crackers.

The food from Jade Palace is always excellent but the wait time and service is terrible. During lockdown we had our order delivered accepting that we never knew when it would arrive. During the summer we opted to collect but even though we telephoned our order, and were given a time to collect, it became apparent that our food was only cooked once we had waited in a queue to pay for it and we still waited approx an hour outside the shop for our order. This was not so bad with dry light summer nights. Not so much fun in the wet and dark!!We accepted that New Years Eve would be busy but it was something else. Arriving at 6.20 we waited to order food and at 6.35 were told the food was taking 45 mins and we decided to order and wait. At 7.30 after observing several people agitated about their wait (all stood outside in the freezing cold) we got no answers. We asked again at 7.45 when another customer said she had been waiting for over 2 hours. We eventually got our food at 8pm. Our total wait time 1 hour 40 mins.Simply put Jade Palace is unable to cope with its success. The staff seem completely overrun and at times are rude although working hard and doing their best. The system does not work. We watched one customer go into the shop and after approx 15 mins he got his food (we watched him park behind us and we were there a long time after he left!!) Another said they had pre ordered and paid the day before and still waited over an hour. Unfortunately although the food is excellent its simply not worth the fuss. What a shame.

The food here is fantastic quality and quality highly recommended. The food was delivered warm and smelt as tasted as good as it looks

We Ordered our food at 7pm this evening, was told it would be an hour and we are still waiting, we rang to get information on what was happening to be informed it hasn't even been cooked yet and it is 9pm!! i am not happy at all

The singapore chow mein made my brother violently sick with food poisoning, have been using this takeaway for years. Won't return again, discusting!

Just very good food! Freshly prepared by chefs you can watch. Crispy chilli beef remains crisp. Lovely zingy flavours in their chicken with ginger and spring onions. Ribs are good, meaty! Good value and huge portions. Chips are not good. Would’ve been a 5 if hadn’t been for the wait. I can understand that they perhaps worry that people won’t arrive for orders but I’m sure there’s a system they could implement that could improve this.

Delicious food and fantastic speedy polite service. My wife are staying down the road in Amber house and We decided on Chinese last night and so I looked up local take aways and found Jade palace. We ordered mushroom foo yung, salt and pepper chilli chicken, Singapore noodles and a pot of curry sauce. The order was cooked fresh in front of me and within approx 5 minutes our food was ready. The portions are very good sizes and the food was all delicious so tasty and fresh. The salt & Pepper Chilli Chicken was a new dish and it is awesome, so tasty.

Did telephone order and was told to collect at 6.40. Arrived and was told would have to wait an hour for food. Staff rude and unhelpful

Put in a telephone order for collection and was told at 6.20 it would be ready at 7.15. Arrived at 7 and had to wait 15 minutes to get in to actually pay for the food and was told it would be a further 15 minute wait. At 7.50 we eventually got our order an hour and a half instead of 45 minutes. Nearly £100 spent and given just one bag of prawn crackers even though three separate orders all over £30! Would not go back on a Saturday as people waiting outside and just way too busy. They dealt with home deliveries before people waiting which left many customers frustrated. Have given two stars as the food was first class as always just the service and wait was unacceptable.

Great menu for a variety of diets. Food was delivered quickly, staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was lovely and nice big portions.

The good here is excellent , really good quality Chinese with fresh ingredients and cooked with skill, I see some people are moaning about the delivery service but that doesn't takeaway from the quality of the food :)

Don't bother phoning up to pre-order your food! . I phoned an order through at 19.15 and was told to collect at 20.00.On arriving to pay I was then made to wait outside until 20.35! They had blatantly not started cooking my order until I'd arrived and paid! Why even give a collection time???Not the first time this has happened either. A real shame as the food from here is lovely but this experience is really off-putting. Also one of my dishes was wrong but still very nice. Perhaps they should maybe not take on as much to provide a better service to your returning locals!

Placed our order around 6pm & was told it should be delivered in approximately 45 minutes. Phoned at 7.15 to find out where our order was, to be told that they were waiting for driver to come back, but should be with us shortly. Phoned again at 7.45 to be told the same thing & by then we were starting to feel ill as we hadn't eaten, especially my husband as he is diabetic. Order eventually delivered at 8pm, so 2 hrs after I had ordered. They did apologise, but would have expected at least a discount to compensate. We have been customers here for 21 years, so would have expected better.

Really good food but quite expensive and the new delivery service seems to be failing sadly, waited nearly two hours after being told it would be about a hour and then the prawn crackers were missing, such a shame as the rest of the meal was very good

I have been using Jade Palace for some years now. In all that time I have never had a Chinese meal that was less than perfect. Having lived in the Far East this is the most authentic place I have been to in the UK. In addition all the food is cooked in front of you and the staff are absolutely lovley. Dont take my word for it, go along and see the queues they will comfirm just how good it is. Thank you Jade Palace.

The food at Jade Palace is fabulous I waited for a bit but that was understandable after how brilliant this food was, is. Booked over the phone could not be easier. Definitely going to revisit, found our new Chinese takeaway.

Staff remain as always very friendly and polite, it’s disappointing that the general standard of food quality is well below what it used to be.Won’t be going back again.

We discovered this little gem just over 18 months ago. Have never been disappointed with any of their dishes. Good value, great menu and they can do gluten free.

This has to be the best Chinese Takeaway in Torbay. Service with a smile is always assured and you can watch your fantastic meal being created by the talented chefs. We visit the bay several times a year and always visit Jade Palace. The sauces on the dishes are always tasty and nice and thick, brilliant for mopping up with a bag of prawn crackers

food here is amazing, big portions, and lots of chips, was expensive, compared to home, but food tasted nice and fresh, staff very friendly, and only had to wait 10 mins,i would reccomend king prawns with cashew nuts.

We recently stayed for a week in Goodrington and I visited the Jade Palace three times,the food was lovely,which I knew it would be when I saw how busy it was,very popular choice.It was really nice to see the food cooked fresh in front of you too

Lovely food, made so much better by seeing them make the food right in front of you. Only thing I can suggest is that the salt and pepper chips are made with fried onions, peppers etc and not a powder? Very impressed overall with the service!

I use this takeaway fairly regularly, must say the last twice it’s not been so good, My latest chicken curry, the chicken was very tough and like small pieces of leather, never tasted anything quite like it? Very disappointed.

Used this place a few times and when you order food they don’t start cooking until you get there to collect the order at least it was in my case but good food and it’s great you can clearly see into the kitchen

We have tried several Chinese take aways in the area but no others match up to Jade Palace. We love the Specials but none of the choices from the menu have ever disappointed. It is an extensive menu and all items are very reasonably priced. You see your food being prepared which is good. The staff are efficient and friendly and even outside the holiday season it is always busy. We telephone our order and consequently our food is usually packed and ready to go within minutes of our arrival. Invariably it is nicely cooked and you can request more or less spicey. My mouth is watering just writing this review and I'm sure we'll be enjoying another Jade banquet very soon.

Nice portions size dishes and not too pricey. Was busy when we placed our and this resulted in a portion of rice being cold but apart from that the food wasn’t too bad.

In a nutshell, this is in my opinion the best take-away I've been to. Great menu choice and fantastic food. Ordered food from here a number of times on a recent holiday and would highly recommend to anyone! The crispy king prawns in peking style sauce is a real winner!

We live in Brixham but will always get our Chinese from here. The Service is prompt and they do deliver, but check before you order as it depends where you are staying/living. Would Recommend to friends and family.

On our last night we fancied a Chinese takeaway after cream teas and fish all week! We were so pleased we chose the Jade Palace as our order was tasty and very well presented at a reasonable price. Only issue was they don't take cards but there is a cash machine right outside. If you like Chinese then try these guys, our eldest daughter (19) proclaimed it was probably the nicest Chinese she has ever had!!

Firstly, warm welcome and helpful staff before you even order; have used this particular takeaway for the last ten years and they have NEVER disappointed; you can see the food being cooked, excellent cleanliness and quality food.

We had a wonderful meal from this Chinese. The Crispy duck was the way we like it on the bone. The pancake rolls were great we have been looking for ones like this we used to be able to get them locally, same it is so far from home. Also the chow main needs a special mention, really good. Overall a great meal all six of us really enjoyed it. Next time we are on holiday in the area we will be back.

Ate here whilst on holiday in the area. Four of us ordered the set menu B for 3. Still too much to eat for the four of us. Although we ordered the meal to collect when we arrived and paid for the meal it was then that the dishes were cooked so expect some delay on collection but it means your meal is hot and freshly cooked. Nice to be able to see the chefs working in the kitchen. We did suggest to the staff that they display a notice both in their window and on the menu that they DO NOT TAKE CARDS, it is cash only. We were caught out and had to track down a cash machine. Will visit again when in the area.

I rarely write reviews but after the worst Chinese food I've ever had I felt compelled to write one about jade palace. Quick service was it's only saving grace as the food was dull as dish water. Bland doesn't come close, appalling. Actually shocked to see good reviews on here.

We went to Jade Garden while on holiday in Paignton. I have to say it is the best Cantonese style I have ever had!

A group of ten of us had a takeaway from here. Lots of different dishes and there were no complaints by anyone. Better than some of the big chain restaurants reviews for the area. Give it a try. Worth it

We very specifically asked for tinfoil containers as we really don't like hot food in plastic ones, both for health and environmental reasons.

I don' know if they have a new chef or have changed hands but the quality is going downhill which is sad as they used to be really good. I had sweet and sour chicken and the chicken balls were hard and greasy and a bit overcooked the sauce had lost a lot of its taste and used to contain pineapple pieces every time but it seems not any more. Bring back the old good quality.

I have had takeaway from here on Fridays and its been very very good. I have just had a takeaway on a Thursdays. Dont whats going on but there must be a diffetent chef on during week days. The food was average. The spring rolls consist mainly of beans sprouts and no flavour. The curry was watery. Dissapointed.

My wife and I ate here following the reviews on Trip Advisor during a recent stay in Paignton.The place does not look much from the outside and inside is a takeaway area at the front with the restaurant at the back which is a little dark however the food makes up for this without a doubt.We ordered Chips, Egg Fried Rice, Fillet Beef Cantonese Style and a King Prawn Curry. Food was tasty and we both cleaned our plates and left feeling quiet full after a good eating experience.We would go again if in the area.

Thought we would try these after looking at trip advisor, place was busy so thought must mean it's good - the main dish curry was served in a what I'd call a starter sized carton very small if that small I would expect it to come with rice or chips ! The rice was bland the chip are tasteless and hard would return if I'm honest Expensive as well

Have been here quite a few times but had a few weeks off after xmas, went back the other week and its as good as ever. The dishes taste fresh and flavoursome and portions are good, friendly staff and easy parking make this our first choice.Had the salt and pepper chilli ribs which have plenty of meat on them.The house special fried rice and veg satay are usually on our list as well . all lovely.
