Jade House in Sheffield

Not the best Chinese takeaway. But they do some small boxes of food for £6. ie curry chicken with fried rice or chips etc. Which is good value for your money. If your on a budget. Portion sizes are brilliant. Just not big on flavours.

My order was late about 45 minutes, I had to call back this restaurant to ask where my order is. When the driver came I told him it is too late, but he didn't understand, or just acted he doesn't. Never ever I will made any order in this restaurant!

Worst Chinese food I’ve had in Sheffield in 7 years. Batter like shoe leather, thick and uncooked inside, crispy beef is just a lie, just more leather, overall …….. don’t do it 👎👎👎👎

Ordered from here for many years. It hit N miss as it like they got different cooks. Past 2 times it been horrible less meat. my beef curry had gone alover in bag.

Foods shocking, tasteless and old this and wonderful are 2 off the worse places in Sheffield for Chinese food please don't waste your money like I did. Hope this review helps some people.👍

I am editing my previous review *For me it is mediocre. Never been blown away like I have from other chinese restaurants /take out* I recently retried here and genuinely i was shocked how much it had improved. Spare ribs are in little chunks but there was plenty and it was delicious.. Iv tried the special curry, beef in black bean (too salty for my liking but i am fussy with this sauce) the happy faamily dish is lovely. Huge chunks of duck aand lots of meat. I was extremely impressed with the amount of meat they packed in. Chicken andsweetcorn soup was huge as well. The egg fried rice again was lovely and again a big portion. I Always ask for the large vegetable spring rolls they are the best,and the chicken curry +Chicken chow mein are my favourites .

Had chicken curry and egg fried rice, my god the curry sauce was so watered down and, rice has never been egg fried a bit more like aldi microwave rice

Another farl overpriced Chinese

I bought King prawns in sweet and sour sauce. I used to buy this every week til jade git a bad hygiene review BUT I felt welcomed and as if established was clean when I went recently. I will bo again soon

This used to be a nice take away. But i feel the chef must have changed as the prawn toasts i ordered were burnt and tasted sour. The chow mein was jut noodle no onions or bean sprouts in it. the pork balls was dense batter and not much meat. I am afraid we shall not be ordering from here again

We've been using Jade House for a few years but after tonight won't be any more. I've been disappointed a few times, they are very inconsistent. I've ordered chicken satay skewers previously and they were lovely. Got them tonight and the flavour was weird without a peanut in sight and no peanut flavour at all. The sauce was pink and gloopy and as if the chicken had been marinated for a totally different meal. Have tried different meals from here and seems the only thing that they do well is chow mein and salt n pepper chips. Thai curries are not authentic and too many meals use battered cheap meat and the menu doesn't explain when the meat is battered.

First meal from here , food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh , delivery guy was pleasant.

Nice food but forgot prawn crackers. Also bamboo Shoots in that meal. Delivery took over an hour.

This is a review about THE FOOD not the delivery service as most of the reviews on google seem to be. We ordered a range of items from starters, dumplings and meals. All were freshly cooked and piping hot with plenty of flavour. The lady that served me was polite and professional. In my opinion, it is far more important for the food to be fresh and tasty than what time the delivery person bring it. If you want your food at a certain time drive/walk down and get it! Would recommend ordering from here.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING DO NOT ORDER - food was 30 mins late, when it arrived, wasn’t the best but not the worst, untill I found a long black hair dangled in my food. I feel sick, and certainly could not finish my dish. I phoned and asked for a refund but instead was told that they would send me another dish out?!!! Avoid!!!

Waited 2+ hours for our food and when it did come it was cold and disgusting they have a 1 star hygiene rating too the place should be shut down 🤢

Arrived an hour early when we asked for it a specific time the owners called us liers and proceeded to agressivly yell at us. Will not be ordering here ever again 😡

Ordered through Just Eat, never again, the order didn't even turn up. When you call their number it just says "sorry this mailbox is full", puts you straight through to voicemail. EDIT: the food turned up at 10:05pm (after it was cancelled via Just Eat already at around half 9), the order was placed at 7:11pm

These guys have literally robbed me. Placed order before 7pm on just eat. Didnt arrive by 830. Spoke to just eat by chat and jade house had already marked my order as delivered so no refund. Then after ive already cooked, they turn up at 10.30 with my food. Which shows they lied about completing my order originally. Just lies, and con artists.

Ordered food at 625,was told delivery was at 725, then got an update saying the food would be there at 820! Rang the number several times and couldn't get through, food was basic and arrived cold at 940

Ordered food was told be 1 hour 3 Hours passed tried calling but phonelines were unplugged I called repeatedly and eventually got through for them to accuse me for not answering the door I asked what time was it sent, 2 hours after we ordered apparently my 2 German shepherds must have gone deaf along with my 4 household members sat in the living room this takeaway have the worst customer service that simply don't care we ordered at 7pm and the food simply never arrived.... Would not recommend this takeaway we ordered food at quarter to 8 for it to turn up hr and 40 mins later. Paid for it put it on plates to see curry greasy and runny like coloured gravy not to mention was cold. When phone to complain was told it can't be cold it has only just gone out from here.i will never be using this place again never have I had such a bad experience with takeaway food. Definately not recommended by me or the other half.

Ordered food at 18.30 through just eat to be told it would arrive at 20.20 After 2 phone calls to restaurant and a chat with just eat it finally arrived at 21.15 The food was cold and mediocre will not be ordering from here again

Sunday 17th June ordered our usual..but the 2 main courses Crispy Shredded Chilli Beef and Special Egg Foo Yung tasted of plastic. As it was late and we get up early we let them know Monday. No chance of a call back till Wednesday, so ok. No call back Wednesday, so hubby called them just before 8pm about our complaint. They said they had tried to call us but no voicemail on land or mobile. Speaking to them Wednesday it is our fault we did not complain the day we received it. But it was... Hey darling did u enjoy your Chinese last night? I didn't it tasted of plastic. Husband: oh really!! No I didn't my tasted plasticky too! So no apology, which would have been nice, and yes we have binned their menu. Atrocious customer service. Summary: I think they pre-cooked and stored in plastic containers then heated up. Disgusting!!

Im diabetic type 2 advanced hence i still have to inject insulin,,i rarely get chance to eat a takeaway nowadays , me n my partner had beef chow mein,,beef with black bean,,fried rice,,chips,,prawn toast,,,it was all of poor quality i will never order from this place again even when i went outside the next day my dogs hadn't eaten it either but when i threw it in the bin and and gave them there own food it was gone as soon as it hit the dish ,,so please draw your own conclusion

Have only had five meals from here and the last one a Singapore Curry I ended laid up for two days through food poisoning needless to say will not be going back.. Reported to Environment Health...

There were a few things wrong with my order. It was my first time ordering from here as my usual is closed, and o Can honestly say I won't be using them again. Although the customer service was brilliant, my order was wrong and the delivery Time was shocking, 50 min late! And by this point I was too hungry to call them up to change the order, so everything apart from the BBQ sauce, prawn toast and duck fried rice went in the bin. On a more positive note what I did eat was amazing

Food was delicious..... arrived half an hour late and the whole of the contents we either opened or squashed inside the carrier bag. Delivery time was ridiculous. But again, the food that we salvaged was lovely.

Not good at all food Bearley edible supposed to be chicken can only describe the taste as the bottom of a shoe and the noodles were burnt and like rubber the smell was like a sweaty sock in a frying pan won't order again unless I feel like I want a fried gym sock for tea

Food arrived fifty minutes late and judging by food in boxes probably spent that time with the driver being lost. Driver clearly had no idea of area and tried to blame the address as his sat nav apparently couldn't find the only A&E hospital in the city - although the address details were correct. A shame. The food appears to have been of good standard and probably deserving higher marks, but the delivery service cannot be recommended and it's difficult to praise food that is delivered cold by a rude driver.

I've given this takeaway many chances, partly due to some of their food being really lovely. But there service is nothing short of diabolical, read other reviews and this will back me up! Delivery is typically an hour later than predicted, tonight was the same. And when the delivery driver turned up 2 hours after ordering he tried walking away short changing me by £5 until I pulled him. Won't be ordering again.

Food was good but 1 meal was wrong, normally I wouldn't mention it but the meal I got contained pineapple which I hate. I rung the takeaway to advise of their mistake and was told that it was a fault on Just Eats part as the receipt came through with the wrong order on it, i checked my receipt and this wasn't the case. After explaining this to the guy at the takeaway he said he'd have to contact Just Eat to arrange a refund for my meal (no mention of just sending out the correct meal), i told him he'd need to let me know what was happening as I didn't have anything to eat. He never contacted me back but after roughly half an hour the delivery driver arrived back at the door with another meal (which was still not what I ordered). Then, to my absolute horror, the delivery driver said I owed them £1 for delivery!!!!!!!! I obviously did not pay as I couldn't believe the cheek of it. The delivery driver said I was being unfair as it would mean he would have to pay the £1. The guy at the takeaway needs serious lessons in customer service as this was dealt with very poorly and consequently I will not be ordering from this place again. Obviously under new management as I've never had any issues before.

Shocking, normally really nice but took an hour n half to get to me and when it did it tasted awful.

I was happy to receive my order 20 minutes earlier than expected. I did however, request kindly for them to not include anything else in the plain chow mein noodles. Meaning, bean sprouts, onions or any other vegetable as it does cause me stomach ache. I received my meal with my comment being completely ignored. Other than that I was pleased with my order.

I love the Thai peanut beef, it's delicious. The delivery was over 10 minutes late which was a bit annoying but otherwise all good.

Ordered on here,was missing curry sauce left a special request to have no bean sprouts in the chow mein,it had them in :( very fishy/prawn after taste from chicken chow mein, food arrived hot and 30 mins early

Ordered for collection. Food was luke warm on collection so was prepared well before we arrived on time to collect. One fried rice missing from order and vegetables left in both dishes when told not too. Unhelpful service when rang back and waited another 30 mins from getting it home to getting a replacement rice. Used to be regulars here but last time we order from them now after quite a few mistakes.

Food should have arrived at 9.20 unfortunately it hadn't arrived by 10 pm so checked on just eat app - food had allegedly been delivered ! Rang restaurant- told food would be arriving in 5 minutes. Food finally arrived another 10 minutes later - barely warm!! Will definitely NOT be using them again!

We used to go here every week on a Saturday night. Not been for a while and was so disappointed 😞 we had sweet and sour chicken and sweet and sour king prawn, the prawns were like rubber and the ss sauce tasted like tin and left an awful metal taste in my mouth. Prawn toast was greasy and tasted like been in the deep fat Frier. Was really disappointed.

Nearly 40 minutes late, rang after 15 minutes late to be told he should be with me in a minute....to be left waiting just over another 20 minutes! And my duck spring rolls had very little duck but 2 huge bones in one of them! Very disappointed as this is one of favourite places to order from!

I always ask for ribs dry, no sauce, and yet again i receive them smothered in sauce. Do they ever read customer notes?

50 minutes late, phoned was lied to said order was on the way then took 30 mins until delivered when shop only 5 mins away, driver gave no apology was arrogant, and to add salt to the wound they sent the wrong dish for my brother, DO NOT USE!! you have been warned.

It was a very nice meal I ordered, but personally i think the curry sauce was a bit too spicy for my liking and if it didn't have as much spice in it. Also I didn't get any prawn crackers with my dinner, so because of the curry sauce being too spicy and not getting any prawn crackers, I'd rate it 4 stars out of 5. It'd be 5/5, if the curry sauce wasn't as spicy and if I got prawn crackers with my meal.

Scant apology from restaurant, no apology whatsoever from delivery driver, so restaurant said was to blame, no offer of discount on future order or anything. Extremely poor service. A real shame as the food from jade house is excellent every time, but the same cannot be said for the service.
