We eat here regularly and have never had a bad experience. food is always tasty and fresh. Much prefer here to some of the other local takeaways we've tried

1st time ordering as we were staying on a campsite locally. Hot, tasty food that was delivered really quickly. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Recommend trying.

Calne’s takeaway options seem to be declining in quality. Jade House used to be one of the better choices, and we ordered from them many times without issues. However, the last two orders gave me severe food poisoning. At first, I wasn’t entirely sure, but now it’s clear. The food tastes stale, as if it’s been frozen for a long time. Even the chips seem like they were cooked days ago and just reheated. The rice has an old, musty taste, like it’s been sitting for 3–4 days. The curries are bland and weak, and I felt unwell after eating. I recommend avoiding this place—try somewhere else or cook at home. I definitely won’t be ordering from here again.

My self and partner Richard absolutely love this Chinese the food is the best we go once a week . The front of house lady is fantastic. We love jades house.

Ordered at 19:39 delivered at 21:13 despite saying 40 mins on website. I ordered beef satay chow mein and received chicken. I phoned about 9pm to chase my order but was just told it was on its way with no apology or explanation whatsoever for the delay.. food was bland and chips and chicken balls were soggy. Poor all round really

Avoid avoid avoid. Gone down hill. Staff are rude on the phone - hour and a half delivery for it to arrive cold and tasteless with no apology when called to ask where it was. Go somewhere else, don’t waste your money. Support a business that actually appreciates your order.

Usually an avid Jade House Customer - However absolutely delighted to have received food poisoning from this establishment over the past weekend. Resulting in missed work and a sick family. Never had a problem before, however after eating this takeaway within 24 hours (nothing else consumed) we are all so incredibly sick. Will never eat here again and gutted to hear friends and family say the same.

Oh dear, need to avoid this one in the future. Started with a very rude Chinese woman answering the phone impatiently as "Yes?", no business greeting. Rushed through taking my order for a collection, no manners at all, very rude. This may be a difference in cultures, however I've never been spoken to so rudely at other Chinese takeaways or restaurants so not really an excuse. Never mind, give her the benefit of the doubt and see what happens. No parking outside, left the car down the road. Food was passable. Tasted ok but poor quality meats seemingly used. Had gristle in the chicken and the char sui pork was chewy. "Free prawn crackers" were tasteless. Unfortunately, I will not be back.

Hadn't tried a takeaway from here for a while, and was very pleased with what we got. Loved the duck with chilies and black beans, crispy seaweed was good and not oily, good spring rolls.

The best Chinese in Calne that’s for sure. Definitely being going back. 5 stars from me. I’ve tried a few local Chinese restaurants/takeaways and this one definitely uses the best,quality ingredients and with the best invested in what you make definitely gives the best results.

Ordered online. Food was 45mins late. Had to call twice to chase the order. Food was cold on arrival unsurprisingly.

Wow the most weird experience ever. We ordered a take away .got one delivered it was wrong. Called them only to be told they woula manager to see if it there was there food .it wasn't. The so say manager that arrived was aggressive as soon as she waked in ,the guy with her was fine,it wasn't their food as we thought as totally different order,we had paid got the money. To God's knows who .

Great food and at a reasonable price, delivery is generally good unless it’s very busy. A broad menu that caters for every ones needs.

I had a wrong meal last week and I rang back they told me I would have a fee meal next time. Well tonight my fiancé and I went there and I told her about the order issue. She agreed for a free meal for me. I ordered beef chow mien with vegetables and a lot chopped chillies. My fiancé ordered chicken with chilli as well and mushroom with oyster sauce. My meal didn’t have one chopped chilli, the only veggie were onions and beansprousts. Chicken was so bland and no many pieces. Mushrooms were not oyster sauce what so ever. What a disappointment. I don’t think we will order anything from them any time soon 😞

I’m sorry to say, having ordered our food and got it home, we were very disappointed. This is only the second time we’ve used this venue and can safely say, never again. Much of the food on both occasions tasted as if it had been reheated. The ribs were inedible and chicken was very tough. I did call them back to complain, but couldn’t get a response from management. There are enough other venues that are SO MUCH better that we won’t be going back.

I have to be honest I have ordered from here a handful of times and I always order the deep fried chilli beef which is usually alright however whenever I try something else alongside the usual I'm always left disappointed with the lack of flavour of the different dishes I try a lot of them are very bland and/or very watery! Like I said I have ordered quite a few times but I have just found that it's nice to try something else once in a while for a change and it never delivers! I usually get delivery and they are usually quite good with their time slots sometimes even get here early! The salt and chilli/pepper chips are good as are the deep fried chilli beef but for me I find its a bang average Chinese and I am looking to try somewhere else or go back to wok express though they don't deliver they are worth going to collect to be honest! Been recently had a good experience now 4*

We had a take away - food was ready right on time, it was fresh, tasty and unlike most takeaways the beef was really tender and not chewy - highly recommend

Update, May 2023: Thought we'd try again after hearing from friends that the quality was improving. Happy to report that the quality and taste has improved. Tried our usual that the previous owner did so well and was pleasantly surprised. It was lovely. Very happy! Previously: Really, really sad to see Jade House fail so badly after being so amazing for so long. The previous owner has sold the business. Unfortunately, it seems that the quality of ingredients, including the meats has fallen to the worst quality. Not a patch on how it used to be, very sad news.

Well I have to say tonight’s meal which was a delivery was cold, tasteless and mushrooms uncooked! and we had to wait an hour! Very unusual.

Great service and food, just a little bit hard to find, also the fact that there is another Chinese restaurant that is just before jade house in the one way system that is called similar, they probably lose customers to the other place. I would just make sure that you are in the right place.🤔👍

Absolutely disgusting, worst tasting food ever. To and insult to injury, they sent me the worg order and instead of redelivering it after i paid £1.50 delivery charge i had to go and collect the correct order

Order was 30 minutes late. Chicken chowmein was dry, bland & tasteless. Far too many noodles, not much chicken & no vegetables at all. I won’t order that dish again.

Food is always delicious with perfectly cooked meat and tasty flavours. Serving sizes are great and every order I get is very consistent!! This is definitely my regular Chinese now as it's the best in calne!!

Jade House is a very good Chinese takeaway!

Sent me a thi red curry that was brown. I complained so they sent me out another order that was wrong so spent £25 of food I couldn’t eat. Customer service was great but the chef cooking was terrible worst Chinese I’ve seen in years.

Very lovely food and awesome staff. I usually get the curry and every time it blows my socks off, i love it so much i find myself having to restrain myself from getting two!! Best chinese in calne for sure.

This has become our regular Chinese now… Amazing food & always fast delivery. Never had any issues.

Not the best but not the worst either, a little steep on prices and much smaller portions than other local Chinese, £2.10 for a tiny tub of sauce, less than half what you get from other chineses. We’ll be going back to Wong house as it’s far superior!

Second time ordering and delivery was very quick. Unfortunately our chicken curry was very salty and we couldn’t finish it.

Just had the meals for 2 - thought we would try it based on reviews - Not going back again. The beef in the veg and oyster sauce ) was so chewy , even the dog struggled with it . Chicken was stringy in the sweet and sour . The pastry on the inside of the spring rolls was still raw , and the filling raw chilli hot . So £18.50 down the drain and a slice of bread and butter for dinner

By far the best Chinese in Calne. Highly recommend, I order basically the same dishes everytime and each time the consistency of food quality and delivery is the same. Can not fault, I have tried other Chinese places in calne but I would still rank Jade House as the best. Foods always hot, tasty, delivery is quick and the people who work there are always polite. 10/10

Partner thought he'd try here as Wong's house (on the same street) have increased there prices slightly. Jade's house was marginally cheaper but significantly worse in quality. Ordered 1/4 crispy duck... Sauce was nice, plenty of disappointingly flavourless salad provided (in plastic tub, not foil, sadly), but most notably he had two massive bones in with his meat - a quarter of his 1/4 crispy duck was bone! Photos added. The meat itself was reportedly fatty and greasy. Very limited vegetarian range, very limited on street parking available. Seems like a popular local option for its delivery service. Sadly for Jade's House, my partner will be staying loyal to his previous duck provider. Truth be told, the dog didn't even want the duck 😬😳

35 minute late delivery and obviously been standing around for at least 25 of that. Soggy and luke warm. Even for £2 delivery. Not too impressed.

We had mixed starter , Duck pancakes , crispy Chilli beef , chicken with bamboo and water chestnuts , pork balls Hong Kong Style , all taste very different , not gloopy and bland like some takeaways . Generous portions eg large pieces of chicken , prawn toast thick so you can taste the prawns toasted , ribs cut thick so lots of meat on , Finished with banana in syrup, again whole so tasty with less batter . All delivered for £2 . Thank you we will be ordering again .

Jade House is a very very nice Chinese takeaway. I really enjoyed my chicken mushroom omelette with chips it was one of the best in Calne.This is where we will be going for now on. We ordered on the website and we got a knock at the door after 10 minutes it was already here piping hot full of Flavour absolutely delicious and Amazing. One of the best Chinese takeaways I've ever had.They also have a very large variety of Chinese different foods and English food.Thank you Jade House for the great service and tasty food. Amazing new dishes including tofu dishes done in a flavourful and delicious way. Would recommend for vegetarians as Jade house has plenty to offer and great prices. Ordered before and they were polite and efficient, done in a speedy time. 5 stars and will be my official Chinese takeaway!

Ordered our first takeaway from Jade House tonight. Lovely meal will definitely order from here again.

Ordered online, easy service, quick delivery and really delicious food, Thai red beef, satay chicken chow Mein and green thai chicken with black beans. Our third meal and now our go to Chinese in Calne

We ordered a meal at 6.10 p.m. and were told delivery would be an hour to an hour and a half. Fine, we ordered early expecting some delay on a Saturday evening. At 8.00 p.m. we phoned to find our where our meal was and were told it would be leaving "soon". When pressed for how soon they said 15-30 minutes. So, that would be well over 2 hours since we ordered - not acceptable. We cancelled the order and will not be using Jade House again. We were very disappointed - and hungry.

After giving the benefit of a doubt about previous late deliveries, we were once again at a loss for our order. Cancelled the order once it was over an hour late but not to be refunded for a week. Not good enough. Very bad service.

Ordered a meal for the family at 1825 online. Stated it would be delivered at 1925. Phone them up at 2015 to ask where our order was. They said they were really sorry and our order would take another half to 3/4 of an hour to be delivered. We then cancelled, and they said it would take seven days before we have a refund. How ridiculous is that, they take your money immediately but can't pay it back for seven days. We have had this problem before waiting another half hour because the meal wasn't ready. We will not be ordering from them again

Ordered at 6.20ish and finally arrived about 8. It was cold and nothing special. when I phoned to chase the lady on the end of the phone was very polite and apologise for the delay. Cold food, nothing special, I hate giving bad reviews but I won't be ordering again.

We had a takeaway delivered from here last night for mother's day! Well what can I say... Was the best Chinese I've ever had..King prawn balls and pancake rolls Amazing. Can't wait to have another one..

Ordered this Chinese I asked for a prawn curry it came with two prawns in it and and chicken in it I paid them £45 for something that I didn't want I advise people not to use it by voice people to go somewhere else

Newbies have smashed it out the park , proper delicious, the salt and pepper chips are something else too!!. The currys were spot on and all meats were cooked perfect . I know where ill be ordering from now on

Ordered Online at 6pm and website initially said delivery at 6:25. However I noticed that the website said between 30 minutes and an hour so didn't worry until after 7pm. Tried phoning but no answer. At 8pm still nothing. At 8:30 still no sign of the delivery and not being able to contact by phone, we decided to go to the shop directly. As it happens our food was just about to leave the shop. However no word of an apology, no offer of anything like a free spring roll or similar, and no offer of a refund for the "delivery" fee (only £1.50, but it's the principle!). We were told the phone was being blocked because they were so busy but there was absolutely no one else in the shop!! A real shame as we wanted to support a new takeaway in Calne and the food was perfectly good. Sadly, after this experience it is highly unlikely we will order again.

Another awesome Chinese meal from maxims today, but being going there for over 30yrs and never had a bad meal totally recommended

One of the worst meals i have ever had. The Egg fried rice was like porridge, the chicken balls were (no words) Sweet and sour sauce was not Sweet and sour source. Avoid awful food !

Sorry seemingly to disagree with everybody else, and please please there is no offence intended, it's just that I should hate to see the shop closed, but I just can't believe that in this day and age how it can people will no longer use such a place it probably only needs a relatively small amount of money to sort out redecoration, a few plant's, pictures and the like, all the very best for the future,

I ordered plain fried noodles and a tofu dish and after I had begun eating at home realised that there was chicken and beef in the container. As I am a vegetarian this is absolutely sickening and is very worrying for anyone with allergies. Aside from this all of our food tasted of nothing and the staff were very slow. Avoid this place.

Curry was a bit watery but sprig rolls were nice.

The food served here is great. It is always pipping hot and very tasty. The staff are very friendly and polite. Best in town.
