Going for my daughter's first ever Chinese takeaway tonight, so the best Chinese in all of Wiltshire is a must. Food and service is always incredible and my daughter has looking forward to her first chicken chow mein

First time using this takeaway as others are not open on a Monday. We were very impressed, really good food and portion sizes, all very reasonably priced. Service was excellent and on time as arranged during the phone order. Will definitely be using them again ahead of previously used similar takeaways!

Don't bother. Go to imperial garden. Awful food here.

I always order the same food as we are vegetarian but the food never disappoints and call me boring but I could live off the plain omlette and plain chowmein every day of the week. Sweet and sour sauce a delight too. Service always good and friendly. Great place.

I found two hairs in my food so bin it poor food amounts Of money you send

Good food, but hardly ever get the order right, we usually get home and find there's something missing. We let it slip the first 2 or 3 times but it happened again recently, so we're not going to bother any more.

Cannot believe some of the negative reviews here. I have been going to Hong Kong House in Corsham, since I moved here in 1986, at least once per month. Never had a bad one yet. The prawn chow mein I had on Saturday night was so delicious I almost held the plastic carton up to my mouth. There is no other chinese takeaway in the whole area that compares to Hong Kong House

Food was ready within 4 Minutes of ordering, Quite possibly the worst Chinese Takeout, I’ve ever experienced. The duck was slimy and fatty and smelt awful, the Chicken chow mein was as bland as cardboard. Avoid at all costs.

Lovely and friendly owner and amazing food

When 3 dishes of 'Chinese' food are cooked in under 4 minutes - along with phone orders - then you know you're in for a grim experience. The owner was disinterested when he took the order. No greeting, no thanks...nothing. I had to stop by the local Co-Op to buy soy sauce and chillies. I asked for some extra heat with the meal - no acknowledgement. It was, without doubt, the worst 'Chinese' experience I have ever had. And I have lived in SE Asia for 58 years. Bland, spice-less, flavour-less. Just plain awful. And 16 Pounds for a sweet corn soup, egg fried rice and Salt n Pepper Chicken or something. They're taking the p and should be embarrassed to claim this is from their heritage. Go to Hong Kong, Singapore or Kuala Lumpur to find out how Cantonese cooking should be. Or maybe this is the way Brits like their 'Chinese' food?

Ordered food over the phone came to collect has taken it home and all the food was wrong nothing I ordered

Was given raw duck that I then had to cook myself. Food is clearly not cared for, there is no consideration for customer safety and satisfaction. Never again will I go here, it cannot compare to our favourite shop.

We Love it here! .I’ve been eating here since I was little . Tasty , good amount , reasonable prices , hot food and fresh .Perfect for treat nights 👍.

Worst Chinese take away I have ever had and I have eaten many! Bland bland bland. Used to be really good when I lived in Corsham 20 years ago but how it has changed. Avoid at all costs.

I cannot understand why there are so many bad reviews here, I have not been back here for ages and that is only because my family and I have laid off takeaways. Tonight I treated myself to a hkh, as always it was great as before thanks to memorable meals from here in the past, I drive past many takeaways to come here I live 7 miles away and always return here chilli beef, chilli pork, and duckling an egg fried rice always amazing thankyou again, miss seeing dad pat there but even after a few months they still remembered my name amazing thankyou - big john

Up there with probably one of the grossest Chinese’s I’ve had. Didn’t think it was possible to make a poor chicken chow mien but there we go. It was watery and lacked flavour. Curry sauce was very stodgy and large spring roll also tasted a bit odd. Could see plenty of staff in the back cooking so really surprised how poor this turned out. I don’t enjoy writing a negative review but I was majorly disappointed after craving a proper Chinese! 1 star for speed.

Always brilliant service and food

Have been going there for years and the food has always been good. Tonight was a big disappointment, when I phoned the lad did not seem to grasp what I was ordering. I ordered chicken chow mein with peppers and black been sauce and a curry. The chow mein chicken was tough and the sauce tasted like gravy . To top it all there was another box with chicken noodles and bean sprouts that I didn’t want but ended up paying for. Very disappointed.

Gone downhill, tastes of old, dirty cooking oil. Poor quality. Waste of money. Shame Hong Kong house was a good takeaway.. Chop suey house in melksham the Chinese leading the way at the moment...

Best take away for miles, cheap and fast. Great bunch of poeple.

So....It's really hard to judge. We've ordered here around 8/10 times. Sometimes we go there it's very nice. Then... sometimes we go there and it just has NO flavour. We had prawn and mushroom and Beef chop suey and in a blind taste test we *literally* couldn't tell the difference. At around £12-14 p/p we think it really could it much, much better.

First of all 2nd week in a row they have forgotten main dishes, in general food is rubbish all is tasteless. Save yourself and go elsewhere.

Having come back to the area after 20 plus years.. and also telling everyone while away that Pats Hong Kong house is the best Chinese in the country… I can’t believe what I just had.. what’s happened to the original curry sauce?? Who’s cooking the curry’s now.. it was bland no flavour at all and I asked for it to be extra spicy.. not even a hint of heat.. I used to this place all the time from scratch when it was down the high street.. I have popped in over the years to pick up a lot of curry sauce n chips and it was the same as way back… but now? Who ever is charge of that curry recipe needs sacking.. sorry guys I’m gutted to leave this review but absolutely tasteless chicken curry, Singapore fried rice was basic hardly any meat in it.. please go back to your Fathers original flavours!!

Went to an event at the Pound in Corsham which went on longer than expected so decided to grab a quick takeaway to feed the kids. Possibly the worst Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had. Appetisers dry and tiny, special chow mien was everything but, chicken satay was runny and bland. Won’t be going back…

I've used Pac's ever since they were in Corsham high street and drive past 2 chippenham chinese takeaways to use Hong Kong House. Never had a bad meal and prices remain competitive. Well done and thanks Pac and everyone at HKH 👏 👍

Been here before its just the customer service is not good .I've given it a second chance still the same customer service not good food prices has gone up but the size of portions not the best shall be going back to my original Chinese takeaway. But the food you do get is amazing.

Order is always wrong, very rude on the phone you ring up and he sounds so miserable, you tell him you have an allergy and he always goes “yep” . Order is constantly messed up, usually very quick to go cold. Sweet and sour sauce just tastes like hot sugar. Won’t be wasting my money here again. With having a severe allergy and the order being wrong everytime it’s not something I want to keep happening if he can’t listen to an order, he definitely won’t listen to an allergy.

Fried rice dish was great, but chow mein was flavourless & jelly-like. Kung Po chicken had the right amount of chilli but the veg wasn't cooked. A shame as we tried this place as somewhere different to our usual, and we were impressed when ordering from here in the past

Generally OK but don't expect to get what you Order, have in recent times, had parts of order missing or have been wrong.

It's OK. Very greasy and undercooked chow mein. And has a 1 star hygiene rating. Yikes.

Been a while since we’ve ordered from here placed a large order £90 disappointed to find the king prawns missing over £6.00 the most expensive thing we ordered. Good food but check your orders if you can.

What a find absolutely brilliant Chinese restaurants offering all the favourites, quality ingredients well cooked. Large carpark to rear which makes collection super easy. Highly recommended 👌

we have been regular customers of this takeaway for at least 10 years. food was always of good quality. service also good. however since the owners father was taken ill both have gone downhill. we had steak and chips from there last night and to be blunt disgusting. we threw most of it in bin. we have two dogs even their food looked more palatable. we will never buy food from there again and strongly urge you to think twice before you do.

Been using this takeaway for best part of 20 yrs lucky to get even smile out of them knowadays let alone hru. We ordered and collected our food. Part of our order was Special Fried Rice, when we got home we had just egg fried rice, but had been charged for the special. The meal was OK, a little bit greasy. We have used this takeaway in the past and think that it has gone downhill. Sad.

As someone else said - I'm shocked with the goof reviews - the food is really, really bad. It's probably the worst quality Chinese I've had in many years. Every dish we ordered was badly cooked and tasted bland as cardboard.

Phoned up to order, for collection. Explained we had a severe shellfish allergy, swapped out the dishes that had any prawns etc and we were told this would be fine. Get home to realise it is FULL of prawns and was completely ignored. I sent them a message a day later and it seems not important enough to respond too. An apology would of been fine. Do not use if you have any dietary requirements. It was a good job we checked the food first.

Nice food. Very polite service and a fast turn around. Never had to wait long. Masks and social distancing no problems. Big car park around the corner and at the moment its free parking.

I will definitely not recommend. Food greasy, oily, chicken literally with no pintch of salt or pepper or any other spices/herbs in fact, just cooked chicken. Chow Mein looked like a soup, container full of oil, disgusting. Will not be ordering anything from them again. The only things that was edible was prawn crackers which were added to the order for free! I don’t recommend to anybody.

Always does the job, food isn’t world beating but it’s good and consistent.

The food was adequate, however we were given one dish different from that which was ordered. Not too sure what it was, but it was okay. The chips were soggy and the crispy chicken was too. All in all, it was very filling, but I probably would look elsewhere next time.

Our first visit here. Everything was excellent. Duck in plum sauce, Singapore noodles, king prawns in yellow bean sauce and kung po chilli chicken. Great flavour, nothing greasy. Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews. Will definitely visit again.

Went to Hong Kong house for the first time . They messed up my order so had to go back after I got home , I only ordered 4 dishes ! The food was vile chicken chow mein was half bean sprouts and expensive . Chicken balls were nearly all batteries expensive and my lemon chicken was hardly any chicken the lemon sauce was bitter . Poor quality high price ! AVOID !

Shocked with all the good reviews tbh, I went there for the first time and it’ll definitely be the last. Every single dish we ordered was vile, chow mien was like water and cold, prawn toast was basically just poorly cut up toast hardly any prawn. Overall it’s disgusting, I’d avoid completely!!!

Not sure what’s going on here but used to be a fab takeaway but it had gone right downhill recently. We’ve had two orders that have been wrong recently, another order that was practically cold, and the food seems to have become very bland. Such a shame but I prefer to drive the extra few miles to Chippenham for a Chinese takeaway now - food much better, still hot despite the drive back to Corsham, and the orders are right first time. Sorry Hong Kong House but you’ve lost a family of customers.

Ordered salt pepper spare ribs and salt pepper king prawn but there was no salt and was not fried as I aspected. Overall the food was not upto what I aspected.

Chow mein consists of noodles and meat of choice(which is rubbery and literally bounced on the plate when it dropped from the fork) cooked in oil and water with a few beansprouts, it has no flavour, sauce or vegetables and some chips are undercooked whilst others are overcooked in the same portion. Definitely not worth going.

I've been here a number of times over the past five years, and whilst I've never had any complaint with the quality of the food, the last few times I've been, the service has varied from okay to downright rude. Called in here the other evening, (on a Monday, so not a busy night), to find three customers waiting for orders, one customer at the counter, and two people behind the counter; one slightly older man, (who in the past has generally been cheerful if a little bit abrupt), and a woman. As I walked up to the counter, the gentleman was already taking an order from the customer at the counter, but the woman didn't really seem that busy, if I recall she was shuffling papers. As she wasn't serving anyone, I went over to stand in front of her, expecting, (naively as it turned out), that she would look up and take my order, but she continued to studiously ignore that I was there. By this time the older gentleman had finished with the other customer, so I slid along the counter to stand in front of him, hoping to place my order, given that he clearly was taking orders. All I got in return however, was an extremely hostile glare and an angry finger jab, from him, in the direction of the woman standing next to him, the one who had already completely ignored me. With him making it crystal clear he had no intention of taking my order, I shimmied back to where I had started, directly in front of the woman. Upon my return to standing in front of her, she finally set aside her all consuming paper shuffling and looked up at me. Success I thought, at last! In the hope of improving the hostile atmosphere between the two of them, I smiled at her and proceeded to start trying to place my order. However, as I'd barely uttered the words " Hello, please can I place an order for five mini spring rolls.......", the phone behind the counter rang. With body language and a look that made it crystal clear what I could do with my order, the woman looked me dead in the eye, slowly picked up the phone and started taking the telephone order. At this point what I wanted to do was lean over the counter, press the button on the phone to end the call, and remind her that the customer who is directly in front of you, (who's already waited a good 5 minutes for no reason), and who has already started placing their order with you, takes precedence over a later telephone order. Fortunately, basic manners prevented me from doing so. Instead, seething as I was by this point, I turned to the older gentleman, the one who had previously just glared at me, and enquired as to how long, if I was ever able to place an order, it was likely to take for the food to be cooked? He simply barked "15 minutes" at me and then took up where the woman had left of on paper shuffling duty, expecting me to continue waiting until woman had finished on the phone. At this point I finally decided that the business clearly wasn't interested in taking my money so I turned around and left. Interestingly, I was recounting the whole bizarre experience to a work colleague the next day, and she said that when she'd also popped in two hours prior to the time I went, she had had almost an identical experience. Such a shame that two grown ups fighting like little children at the expense and inconvenience of paying customers, are allowed to continue with behaviour that will lose business.

Best chinese around - nice front of house staff and lovley food! Cannot reccomned enough

This is a great takeaway restaurant. The food is mouth-wateringly good. Normally we share but I ordered pancakes which required assembly fajitas style. They were delicious. Soft warm pancakes, accompanied by slices of crispy fried chicken finely shredded spring onions and slices of cucumber. All to be dipped in hoisin sauce. Yum!My friend was more traditional in his Chinese selection with fried rice and chow mien. Apparently, also very good
