Probably the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever tasted, everything is cheap nasty. There is nothing authentic. I did persevere and hoped it would get better over time but it's absolutely disgusting. I would definitely not recommend this Chinese takeaway.

Tried this place for the first time last week and we were very disappointed. The prawn crackers were stale, the food was tasteless, and the ribs were 90% fatty meat. Wouldn’t recommend !!

Food was absolutely disgusting, had a won ton soup which ended in a bin as meat smelled terrible. Same with duck fried rise….very disappointing

Absolutely awful overcooked wings the bone was softer than the meat I don’t even want to know what was in the spring rolls but it was slimy and gross greasy rice and tasteless black bean sauce 0 out of 10

Walked in from the street looking to grab a bite. Asked for takeaway, two main dishes & soup was £17. They whipped up the food quickly (10 mins tops) - we then went on a nice little picnic with it to a nearby park. Every meal tasted amazing! Highly recommended 👌

The lady serving was lovely , the food was fresh and absolutely delicious . I normally don't buy Chinese takeaway as in the past iv been disapointed, but this time it was a real treat. Will definitely be using jade garden again and again.

Went out for a chicken maryland( which wasn’t that great )but when I got home there was no chips .I phoned them ,they said to come back but I couldn’t.They said they would deliver them but for delivery fee 😡.It’s there mistake so why would I have to pay a delivery fee ,what a joke ,wont be back …..

Got Duck and pancakes as a starter and the duck seemed raw and smelt awfle so I didn’t eat any. I ordered noodles with my main and found 2 hairs in it and my boyfriend also found a hair in his chicken. The food was okay, however I couldn’t really enjoy it knowing a hair could appear at any moment

Food is ok place needs a clean and some paint.

The most delicious Chinese take away in this area, they still keep the transitional Cantonese flavor! Strong recommend!

Best Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh

Good value, excellent portion size. This is a 3.5 but I can't award a 4. The food is enjoyable but it misses the mark. The beef with black bean and green peppers is good but there's an unwanted flavour in there, maybe 5 spice or similar aromatic that doesn't belong. The curry isn't bad at all but it's not up there. I can't fault the ingredients or the service and I would absolutely order from here again. A bit of fine tuning and they can take it to the next level.

Brilliant find! The food is freshly cooked and delicious! It's very popular with the locals, so order early!

My takeaway came really fast and I was really suprised. The munchie box chips overcooked hard and certainly didn’t taste salt and chilli,chicken balls,ribs dry chicken actually could t eat it. The bees rice was amazing and also the curry sauce and spring rolls amazing. This was my first time using and online lol s also says get 10% off and that sadly never happened. Not sure if I will use again.

Easily the WORST Chinese carry out ever had. Will be in touch re the screw found in the beansprouts and water chestnuts! WTF, was that doing in the meal?!

Easy-to-use and clear online ordering system. Price is very reasonable and the taste is quite good! The portion is big! Perhaps there are too much sauce in some of the dishes. But it's just personal preference.

This has to be one of our favourite Chinese takeaways. It doesn't do anything special but more often than not it just gets it right. Offers the usual Chinese dishes on its regular sized menu where you will find most of the popular dishes that we enjoy today. Sometimes they get it wrong, the shredded chicken might be too crispy or a sauce may not taste right. Believe me, Jade Garden has its off nights too but for its minor shortfalls they have never put us off going back. Staff are always dead cheery, if delivering its usually dead quick and arrives earlier than projected. Look out for the special meal deals from Monday - Thursdays. Would defo remmonds.

We got 3 main meals, a boiled rice and a starter for £20, including a 10% discount for our first online order. Hard to beat that price in Edinburgh, for very tasty and good quality Chinese food. Generous portions and friendly staff. Veggie spring rolls starter was the only disappointment, would have been 5 stars otherwise. Check them out!

El Jade Garden ha cambiado de manos desde la revisión inicial, no puedo recordar cuándo, pero hace un par de años al menos los propietarios se retiraron y las opciones tradicionales chinas y las opciones de asientos muy prácticos desaparecieron.Ahora bien, esta es una comida para llevar bastante estándar, pero con algunas opciones realmente buenas. Nada realmente asombroso, pero nada mal hecho. Una buena opción para llevar y entregar a un precio muy decente.

He usado el servicio de entrega de Jade Garden varias veces durante el encierro y solo tengo cosas buenas que decir al respecto: rápido, cortés, relación calidad-precio, buena comida, ¿qué es lo que posiblemente no le guste a uno? !La magia es mágica y, aunque he leído las críticas menos complementarias aquí, todavía tengo que experimentar algo menos que un excelente servicio y una excelente comida.No haré pedidos en ningún otro lugar hasta que suceda algo adverso, y eso no parece probable en el desempeño reciente.¡Bien hecho, Jade Garden!

Starter was ok but both our mains were soggy and flavourless. Despite ordering different dished they used the same watered down sweet chilli sauce for both. AVOID!!

the starters were fine (spring rolls and some nice dim sum), but unfortunately the "crispy" chili beef I had was dreadful. The beef was super soggy and the sauce water-thin. It tasted okay, but the texture was really off-putting.

Great food and lovely people! My favorite chinese take away from Edinburgh! Considering the number asian people and taxi drivers I saw eating there, is clear that other appreciate it as well.

If you want some proper Cantonese dishes, then come here. There are only 4 tables so book in advance.

I had a very strange experience today. I went for a run after work and wanted to place an order and pick in up on my way back. I came to the restaurant at few minutes after 5PM. There way a 'open' sign on the door. Than I was told by two people inside that I cannot order and should come back in 10 minutes. When I said that I wanted to just say what I want and pick it up later, the lady there was very impolite. Bizarre costumer service experience. I suppose I will not have a chance to comment on the food in this case.

Este pequeño restaurante chino es un descubrimiento agradable. Tiene una amplia variedad de opciones. Y los precios son bastante baratos. Dirigido por una pareja de ancianos, sirven muy rápido. Las salsas que utilizan son muy sabrosos. Comer es un precio un poco más alto que llevar. Me sentí feliz de comer aquí y incluso pedimos platos de arroz extra porque el sabía tan bien. Tienen opciones vegetarianas y comida vegetariana.

The old man serving turned out to be the only guy in the whole place - charged me wrongly and the food was so-so. This place feels like a dead man walking, so old fashioned and resistant to change

Poor food not what reviews say. Expensive for what ou get long wait from order to taking away. I think some people who live local to it and think it's good need to do some travelling to find out what a good Chinese is like!

Have eaten here a lot of times, usually with friends and many of them have them brought back others to enjoy the delicious food. Always have an enjoyable meal and it's BYO.

Tried to order a delivery. The menu says they deliver within 2 miles. I live less than 1 mile away & they refused, then slammed the phone on me. Ignorant and rude. Avoid.

He tenido la entrega desde aquí varias veces a lo largo de los años, ha sido excelente, no grasienta, como otros. La Carne Ho Fun es la recomendación de la nuestra. La señora que lleva es siempre amable y sonriente, deseándonos un feliz año nuevo cuando ella nos traía la última vez.

The takeaway was near to where we were staying so we thought we would give it a go. The food was delicious. We had chicken satay and pork with green beans which was spicy. Definitely recommend.

My favourite Chinese in Edinburgh. Make sure to check out the additional Cantonese menu and Chef's Specials (their website is their Facebook page, you can find the pictures of the menus there). You can also sit in with BYOB for wine (currently but ask in advance).

i wont use this jade garden again we bought 2 currys and omg it was horrible both went right into the binthe curry sauce had big lumps of jelly in it dont ask me where theses other ppl thought this chinise was good anyway if i was you i would save your money for sure

I've visited on a number of occasions to get a take-away and I've never been disappointed. The food is excellent and you get none of that 'oily' food that you find in some Chinese eateries.

Si quieres consistentemente bueno, sabrosa comida china de alta calidad, con un menú amplio preparado para que los visite frshly Jade Garden. Es bastante excepcional y manejado por una pareja muy agradable, así que tiene ese restaurante familiar. Tantas opciones, prueba el cordero de Mongolia, necesita ser experimentado.

He comido aquí con amigos muchas veces en el año pasado y cada vez la comida ha sido consistentemente bueno, en términos de sabor y la calidad de los platos servidos. Hay muchos muy buenos platos algunos no nos hemos encontrado en otros restaurantes chinos. en abundancia favoritos. Te puedes sentar en o de pedir comida para llevar. No es lujoso, pero nos volver otra vez un nuevo para la comida. Yo te sugiero que intentarlo, nosotros lo hicimos y no nos arrepentimos plato individual.

Nunca juzgar un libro por su cubierta de que - si pedías a llevar a cabo o recoger a llevar, entonces estás en el sitio correcto - Jade Garden es perfecto. La comida es deliciosa, recién cocinado. Sin embargo, también puede sentarse en (llévate tu propio vino) y disfrutar de una fabulosa comida china. Un entorno básico, pero es todo sobre la comida. El menú en la que comer es ante todo escrito en chino - esto hablan volúmenes. Amable y servicial. Muy recomendable.

Como un taxista de Edimburgo que trabaja en las noches me encontré con esta comida para llevar la comida aquí es el mejor que he probado nunca, y los dueños son siempre alegre mejor relación calidad-precio

Started out as a Carry Out. They have a few tables for sit in? Bring your own wine. Fantastic quality food at very reasonable prices. Very clean and the owners are genuine and pleasant.

We've been to this takeaway a number of times and it seems to be owned by a friendly Chinese couple who take on the majority of the tasks themselves which is impressive! It can be busy at times, so the wait is a little longer but still, the foods worth the wait! Chips are actually fried properly here too which makes a change!They have your typical food selection out of a Chinese takeaway but have a separate menu available to the general public with around 40 "genuine" Chinese dishes of which we have tried a few. They have photos of these particular Chinese dishes on their walls so it's easier to see what you have chosen and you know what they say about you first eat with your eyes! The takeaway is a bit quirky in that it has maybe 4 tables that you can sit in and dine at. Haven't tried this yet, but I can imagine it's convenient if you want your food super fresh! Overall, a good takeaway with good prices. I would recommend the prawn pate stuffed in tofu, aubergines, peppers and the golden shredded chilli chicken from the Chinese menu, it's super tasty! Lastly, they also do the Lobster dish you see at Chinese restaurants here too (not sure if it stil has the noodle base), but I'm guessing that's subject to availability of lobsters! Enjoy.
