So disappointed.Small servings of aromatic duck, cucumber n spring onions, for the price a total rip off. Funny small…small chicken balls for sweet n sour. Say funny as they were flat and mostly batter.Wish now I’d looked on reviews. Never again!

Never had a problem till now , used for years but obviously somethings changed , re heated chips , small portions , dry wrinkly chicken balls , shockingly bad 👎

Order food from Jade cottage tonight, been going there for years. The really disappointed, half fille trays, the food was bland and had no taste, the beef curry was runny, and it was jist completely disgusting, had to throw food in the bin as it wasn't ediable. Rang Jade Cottage, it wasnt just a few pence that was spent, it was over £50 worth, asked for a refund, but they refused never going back, the worst Chinese ever. All four

Been coming here for years too. The food was the best by far. Last few months I thought they had a bad day. I even got severe food poisoning. Food has gone more expensive and quality and quantity downhill. I even went back after food poisoning it used to be that good. Tonight was the final straw. The sauce was watery. Chicken looked raw. I had a special satay and one prawn in it! Paid extra for one prawn. Chips looked like they were a day old. A loyal customer lost and I’ll be giving my custom elsewhere. Such a shame but it’s not jades cottage anymore it’s clearly someone else’s

THE WORST Chinese I have had for years. Food was awful...... Pity I couldn't give it a zero star.....

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! 🤢 Been coming here for 10 years plus as it WAS the best Chinese takeaway in Mansfield. That was until it changed ownership. The beef curry had hardly any beef just full of onion it had no taste just bland and what tiny bit of meat it did have was rubbery, the sweet and sour duck had chunks of gristle chucked in, the rice was a strange brown colour and only half portions of everything. The chips were overcooked, cold and powdery, prawn toast was burnt. Sweet and sour sauce (debatable) was bright pink water, it stained the duck meat and had an awful twang. What is this crap? Chinese prison food? Will not be ordering again. MASSIVE DISAPPOINTMENT…we need a new Chinese takeaway!!!

Been coming here years and have never been so disappointed, not only has the food massively gone down hill, they also only half filled the trays. Ribs have no meat on them and absolutely no seasoning (these are meant to be salt and chilli) the chunks of pork are tiny and the beef chewy. £40 wasted not even a proper plate for 2 people. Will not be ordering again. Used to be the best Chinese in Mansfield :(

Not sure what’s happened here? Used to be great - this order just received was actually the worst Chinese takeaway we’ve ever had! Called and left a message to say it looked sad, was cold and looked like half portions. Gave it a go though - then tried to call them back shortly afterwards to ask that they came back to collect the swill they’d delivered! Chicken Chow Mein - 2x pieces of chicken, cold and half full. Crispy Prawns - arrived without any crispy coating?! Swimming in a lukewarm yellowish water and a full chopped undercooked onion. Chips/Chicken Ball Combo - there were 19 Chips in total! They were cold, hard and without and salt n chilli seasoning. The chicken balls were 4x sad, flat cold discs of overcooked chewy ‘meat’. Chicken Dumplings - 4x cold, chewy and hard parcels. Seaweed - half a tub of cold, salted cabbage. Prawn Crackers - pretty good. £42.00 and most thrown away! Not sure if this place have swapped chefs or changed hands, however please avoid! Never again!

Ownership has changed the original staff no longer work here. I am terribly sorry to announce that thank you for the custom throughout the years will miss the regular customers.

Never had a bad meal from this take away until tonight!!! The rice had so much Soy sauce in that it just tasted of salt. The chicken with lemon sauce wasn't even edible...over cooked pieces of dry salty battered chicken pieces and the lemon sauce was so bitter that we couldn't eat any of it, all the food was luke warm at best. Safe to say we won't be ordering from here in the future!!!

We’ve been using jade for years and always been super happy. However, of late they’ve become much more variable and last night experience was another poor meal. Delivery was excellent. I ordered our usual food but the spring rolls seemed to be the only part that was the usual Standard. The sauces seemed to be watery and lacking flavour and the quality of the meat being used has taken a real dive. Seems odd to say this but the meals don’t seem to be being seasoned… It a real shame as these guys were the best so not sure what’s happened.

Not sure if they've changed chef or owner, been using jade cottage for years. Food was cold when turned up, portions were tiny with barely any chicken. Was really disappointed as these were awesome back in the day. Can honestly say I won't order from here again, and will find another Chinese takeaway

This use to be amazing but has gone down hill fast in recent times. Quality down, quantity of the meat, yet the price has gone up. The sauces are now awful. The duck pancake sauce is watery and too sweet. The sweet and sour sauce was absolutely inedible tonight. Watery and sweeter than a pudding. Went straight in the bin. I’ll be looking for a new Chinese takeaway as the last three I’ve had from Jade have been awful. No meat hardly in the meat chow mein and why is the rice now brown???

I just paid £34 what a waste, worst I've had for a long time. Never again.

I do not normally comment but the meal from here was very poor. The chips were burnt, the rice was dark brown and tasted strange. The main meals were watery without a sauce. The portions were tiny . Like everyone who has commented recently, we have ordered from here for years but once bitten twice shy... never again.

We’ve been coming here for years and always enjoyed it. However tonight it was very very poor. Half filled containers, chow mein full with more onion than noodles, sauces missing. Overpriced rubbish! Total waste of money. Won’t be returning

For the first time in 35 years of eating them, I threw my chinese takeout away. Yes it was that bad!!! Sorely disappointed, have used Jade Cottage for several years and it's always been the same excellent quality. I don't know if it's changed hands, they have changed chef or what but it was awful! Paid a small fortune for it and wouldn't even give it to the cat

I’m not sure if they’ve changed owner/chef however we’ve been ordering from here for years and tonight it was completely different food, it looked off, watery, the sweet and sour chicken tasted like strawberry, the curry was thin, the meat was grey, and the prices have increased, such a shame for what was the best Chinese in Mansfield.

We've ordered from here for over 10 years, normally about twice per month. The food used to be exceptional. The time before last we ordered and the food was vile, however, we put it down to just a bad, one off experience. Last night we ordered again........I literally couldnt tell you what the food tasted like as there was no flavour other than a sweet brown goo of a sauce (two different main courses same goo). I used to recommend this takeaway to others, but now I won't.... In my honest opinion I would save your money or go elsewhere as it isn't a good place to order from.

AVOID!!! Have been using jade cottage for years and ordered our usual order. They didn’t deliver x 2 items which we had to ring back for to be re delivered. When we opened the food it was stone cold and the portions were TINY. Containers were filled about a quarter way up. On top of all this… the food was foul. Worst Chinese I’ve had. I rang back to inform them how bad it is and she said they’re under new ownership. This will be my last order and I recommend everyone to avoid. Total waste of money.

Something has gone terribly wrong with Jade Cottage. We've been coming here for years and loved it, but recent orders are watery, burnt, with low quality and sparce ingredients. The prices have shot up but the quality is now so low, it's totally unacceptable. Such a shame!

There was broken glass in my food and the owner has been ignoring my calls. After phoning to complain over several days i was promised every time the owner would call me back to sort the problem however now they are ignoring my calls

Extremely disappointed tonight always used to be excellent food but everything tonight was awful, very watery full of onion,undercooked prawns,and different colour curry sauce couldn't even see the sauce when put on the rice it just ran through the rice just like pouring water.we have been very good customers for several years but this was the last I'm afraid

Food arrived on time. However, after years of using this Chinese, I will be looking for an alternative in the future. Food was burnt, half the size of previous portions, yet also increasedin price. Sauces were watery, hardly any chicken in the chicken balls, rice was hard in places like it had been warmed back up, duck was greesy and full of fat. A huge disappointment from a long-time loyal customer. I would no longer recommend it. Whatever has changed needs to be reviewed as I feel you will be losing more custom if this carries on.

So disappointed. We have always used and recommended this Chinese and loved it for years. Tonight we had a meal for 6 people and everyone said it was worst Chinese meal ever. Spare ribs were unrecognisable as ribs with no meat. Sauces very runny. Several dishes including the rice tasted smoky and burnt. Chicken balls were mainly batter. Last time we will use Jade Cottage.

Has this takeaway changed owners? We have been using this takeaway for years but the food delivered tonight was nothing like the quality we usually get. As soon as we opened the food it looked different. The curry was really watered down with defrosted meat thrown in and my partner's absolute favourite salt and chilli ribs were awful. they looked different and had no meat on them. Will not use again!

This was my go-to for my Chinese food. I would recommend it to others, but NOW it is terrible was that bad? I rang them to tell them how bad it was.Nearly £70 spent for most of it to go into the bin and a night on the toilet.

Has to be the worse takeaway I have ever received. All dishes were cold, Rice was burnt, portions sizes were shocking. Ridiculously priced for what they are selling! Never again..

Chow Mein was not as acceptable judging from previous orders I ordered mushroom all noodles hardly any veg or mushrooms, Curry sauce was watery and spring rolls was not as good as previous orders. Delivery was over an hour late. Very disappointed will probably not order from here again 👎 Not good at all !!

Ordered yesterday, delivery time was changed 2 times, unable to contact restaurant, phone turned off and goes to voicemail. Order still haven’t arrived. Ordered through Uber Eats, tried to contact them but after there was a message - orders from this restaurant are non-refundable. Terrible customer service. Absolutely disgusting.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Jade’s Cottage for the past 10 years, always enjoying their delicious food. Unfortunately, last night’s experience was a huge disappointment and will sadly be my last order from them. We usually stick to our favorite dishes, ordering about once a month, but this time the quality was nothing like it used to be. The hot garlic sauce, which was always full of flavor, tasted like a bland, flour-based gravy. It was completely tasteless and lacked the quality we’ve come to expect. After reading other recent reviews, it seems I’m not the only one who has noticed a drop in standards. My guess is that there’s been a change in ownership, and it’s clear that the food quality has suffered because of it. It’s truly disappointing to see such a great takeaway lose its reputation. Time to find a new Chinese takeaway in Mansfield.

turned up 20 minutes after Restaurant closed!!

So we placed an order at 7.15 and expected to receive food at 8.15-8.40 but this then changed to 9pm to 9.15. Contacted them and was given excuses such as wrong contact number / wrong address… very rude person… absolute disgusting customer service would never use again.. so disappointing after a full day of work and looking forward to my food…

The food didn't arrive. Nobody answers the phones

Rising prices, smaller portions and poorer quality. This used to be my favourite Chinese restaurant but I think it's time to look for something new. Bye bye Jade Cottage.

Used this Chinese Take away for the last 12 years. Hadn’t had it for a while and sadly today’s food will be the last. The food is NOTHING like it used to be. I rang them and first question I asked was ‘have you changed ownership’ reply as I expected was YES. Sweet n Sour sauce was the fist alarm bell … it was swilling around the pot like water… I kid you NOT. … it was the same consistency as water !!! The rest that I unveiled was just as bad. So guys you’d be wise to give this place a miss from now on !!

Food was not fresh, delivery time was so fast it was obvious it was warmed up from the weekend. Fingers crossed we make it through the night without becoming intimate with porcelain.

The food was clearly not fresh, the food was cold, sauce was watery and non of it very tasty. The spare ribs was grey and inedible. Safe to say we will never order food from here again.

I ordered the set meal for 2, the food came on time but the 3 main dishes were half full with no sauce, very dry. with a few pieces of meat in it. for nearly £35 we barely got 2 plates of food. never have i had a chinese were the dish was half full, not very happy with it wont be ordering again im afraid

really quick delivery!! food not as usual standard- sweet and sour sauce watery, chicken chowmein container not full portion as container 3/4 full and usually jam packed , lots of batter on chicken balls which in parts were soggy batter. unusual for jade cottage. hope this was a blip as been ordering here for years!!

Awful, regret ordering!!! The food was cold, we ordered plain noodles, they came with onion and beansprouts. Chicken satay skewers sauce was watery and no flavour. The salt and chilli chicken was horrible, didn’t taste of chicken, one tiny slice of chilli, no real flavour and not a full portion. The egg fried rice was lumpy and not a full portion, even though it was supposed to be a large. Won’t be ordering again, especially after seeing the other recent reviews!!!

Food was awful. The chicken was so thin and crispy we couldn’t chew it. The rice was full of clumps and the food arrived cold. We usually love this Chinese but something has definitely changed. We will not be ordering again. Waste of £35.

Lovely people and normally great food but just had it for the last time. The spare ribs looked like used dog bones with no meat on so just chucked them in the bin. All other dishes we had, the meats were tough and dry even with the sauces. Just really disappointed

If I could give this place a zero I would. We placed order at 6.30 after several phone calls it turned up at 9.35. It had some items missing. We used this take away most Saturday but they have now lost custom. When you complain they don’t want to know. Even not picking phone up. Management wont speak to you. It’s classed as theft if we have paid for things we didn’t get. Will be taking further.

Not sure if they have changed cooks but the food doesent taste how it used to. We always have the same meal from here and it's usauly excellent but the past 2 orders haven't been great atall.

Food didn't arrive after 2 hours. Rang to be told nothing they can do, lady on phone very unhelpful as she had 'only just came on". I'd have coppers knocking on my door if I'd been taking people's money but these clowns get away with it.

Ordered Chicken Szechuan and the recipe has changed . This included Brochli and many mushrooms. Need to show menu before you can order. Not nice at all. Plain noodle box was half empty, many chips were burnt/over cooked.

Ordered omelette, beef in peking sauce and chili chicken. We were missing the chips with the omelette and the sauce on the beef was definitely not peking . It was rank, no flavour and tasted awful. Rung them straight up to be told they would send them out on next delivery when I said I was in Sutton she spoke to manager and came back saying as they were so busy tonight they wouldn't deliver but put a credit on my next order!!! Terrible customer service, awful meal... keep your credit as I won't be ordering again!

Beware , food nothing like the photos on the reviews! Took hour and 40 mins to get here, food cold, chips not cooked. The sauces were like water, the BBQ ribs tasted like fish :-|, the rice was hard and stuck together. Absolute waste of £45 and hopefully don’t wake with food poisoning! Never will I order here again, it’s actually shocking that these places get away with serving up this kind of stuff…. if I could leave less stars I would..

The food was tasteless, the sauce was runny and a terrible consistency. A pot of sauce had not been shut properly and had tipped all over the other food. Was just an awful mean to be honest. I did like the prawn crackers but that was it out of 5 dish

All my food was freezing cold, I don't know why I only live around the corner. Ruined meal. My chips were cold, pale and undercooked to me. Curry sauce was watery. Hardly any chicken and the rice tasted overcooked. I won't be visiting anymore, which is a shame because I have been going there for years. Very disappointing.

I don't often write reviews but when a service is so poor I really can't help myself. 2 hours 10 mins waiting for our order tonight for it only to arrive INCOMPLETE it's disgraceful. If you can't get an order right after 2 hours then you shouldn't be in business. We were then given an option that our FUTURE order would have the additional meal there will be no future orders from this chinese 5 years ago it was good but like most places it loses its stars

The food never turned up!!!!! Waited over 2 hours!! Absolutely fuming is beyond words. Rang the takeaway and their automated line came up saying they’re too busy at the moment to take orders. This food NEVER TURNED UP TO MY HOUSE!!!!!!

Quality of food is always good. However at peak time food will always be at least an hour and a half if lucky. Ignore delivery time on Just Eat. Expect on Friday/Saturday 2hrs for delivery.

we always go to jade cottage for our Chinese fix, and it's always been absolutely beautiful, which has lead us to continue ordering, however tonight's order was very disappointing, Cold chicken chow mein, extremely dry spare ribs and cold! we order hot and sour soup everytime, and tonight's was only just warm, and wasn't what we ordered at all, it wasn't any "hot or sour" delivery time- 20 minutes early, which would of been great if it was hot 😟 disappointed!!
