Jack's Steakhouse and Grill in Aberdeen City

Just the best fillet steak with all the trimmings i have had. Locally sourced and perfectly cooked (medium rare) with a creamy pepper sauce, onion rings and an extra side of fried onions with juicy, sweet tomatoes and mushrooms. Traditional and just how i like it. Washed down with a bottle of Merlot in very attractive surroundings. I will be back!!

Poor quality on the steak, we where 12 people that got dry and overdone steak. We try to deliver the food back, the manager of the restaurant refused to take the food back to the chef, he was rude and arrogant. A place you should not visit!! We are in 2020, if you cannot be professional and be service minded. Pleas find something else to do. This is not a good place!!

The restaurant has moved and is now on Union Street. We ate there as a group of 16 adults celebrating a 60th birthday. Upon arrival we were shown to our seats by a Manager and offered a drink. Thereafter the quality of the service deteriorated. One member of our group had a little bit of soup tipped on his jacket by a young waiter who then dropped one of the dinners of a group of 4 on another table as he walked up a few steps. Thereafter we didn’t see this young waiter for the rest of the evening and I wonder if this stretched the remaining waiting staff as our mains turned up cold, which was a shame as the quality of the food was excellent. The ambience inside the restaurant was good as well and we stayed there drinking until the wee small hours, albeit prices were higher than a pub.

Second time my wife and I have Visited Jacks, on route To the music Hall. Went in pass and booked a meal For later on in the night after a small bit of shopping. I can honestly say that we both had an enjoyable meal With first class service. Only thing I would say is that I would check out were we are seated next time As we were located a seat on the ground floor on the far left it was a little dark when Reading the menu otherwise first class and will be definitely Going back for the third time we’ll done to all the staff prefer It than millers 👍

Firstly someone has to change the address. Jack's steakhouse moved some time ago. The food was good. I went for the Highlander burger and the handcut chips. I thought the chunky well cooked golden brown chips excellent. I'd have liked a few more. The burger was also pretty good. I still think £16 for burger and chips is too much. What stood out as the real issue was the service. We were told the wait was just a few minutes to prepare the table, but it took ages to set one of the empty tables. Once seated our drinks were finished and nobody noticed. It took even longer to come take our order. A quick glance around the place and you could see customers looking for attention and service. The staff just weren't on the ball at all. The wait for our food was ok. However they had missed out people who had ordered before us. They had waited for ages and had to ask for their food pointing out they had been forgotten. There is just no room for poor service these days. Reading some of the previous comments there is work to be done.

Visited on a Friday evening for dinner. Had booked a table for 2, but when we arrived we were sat at a table for 8! Made us feel a bit awkward to begin with. Waiters/waitresses were very polite, but lacked professionalism. When our food came out the kitchen, the waiter went to the wrong table and looked a bit lost asking around various tables ‘are these your steaks’ ??? Wrong sauces arrived, and again when the replacement came, I had to flag down the waitress to tell her it was me she was meant to serve it to! Food was good, steak was cooked as requested.

oh dear....went for lunch today at Jack's...service pretty poor although pleasant enough waiters.I went for the Mexican burger...side salad warm and limp...burger very bland..meat itself tasteless...assuming a frozen product..certainly not homemade. Salsa had zero flavour and guacamole was equally bereft of any flavour.Pint of beer had a right wiff about it...think the beer lines need cleaned.Suffice to say won't be returning.I would always rather go to an independent eatery than a chain, but not in this case.

We visited for Aberdeen Food week and used the £20 dinner menu. Food was lovely and service was quick. Waiters had good chat and looked after us well. I'd definitely return. Plus the cocktails were amazing!

Went to Jack's for my partners Birthday. Very cold weather outside and a constant draught from the door being held ajar as people left meant I was cold (but that's not unusual). We were sat next to a 'staff only' door and my partners chair was knocked into several times. Maybe could be better placed or arranged. Had a lovely Pornstar martini, tasted just like a solero so spot on. Was a good thing too as we waited twenty minutes for our order to be taken. We were served by multiple different waiting staff which meant that no one really seemed to know what stage of meal we were at. The sharing platter was plenty for the two of us for a starter. The bon bons were really yummy. I ordered a burger for my main and forgot to say what side I wanted, my partner reminded me (and the waiter) that it comes with your choice of side. My partner had a steak medium rare which was cooked really well. My burger was nice. We didn't stay for dessert. There was a lively atmosphere with house music and a private party upstairs. This place has a great location but the staff are young and seem to lack some basic hospitality training or experience. Bit of a shame. There's lots of new places to try in Aberdeen and a good first experience usually guarantees we will return, not this time.

Shame we didn’t experience this restaurant , we had a family dinner booked and had to leave as our child aged 12 wasn’t allowed in !!!!!! I was told at the door this is the rule in Aberdeen with restaurants that are licensed ....not the case!! Thankfully Miller & Carter ‘squeezed’ us in and we had a lovely meal.

The food is very good and plentiful. Nice warm feel to the restaurant. However, on several occasions we had drinks taken to our table that was meant to be for other tables. Bottle beers with no glass. Main courses arrived before starters had finished. We had 4 people waiting on us but not one knew what and if we had ordered. Could be better organised/ little direction required for the staff.

We visited Jack's on our recent trip through northern Ireland during our stay in Aberdeen. I won't "beat around the bush." I had the ribs and they were just okay having a sauce that reminds of a sweet Thai chili sauce. Great in Pad Thai, not preferred on ribs. My wife had a veggie fajita that was described on the menu as "roasted vegetables in our chef's signature spice blend." The dish arrived steaming hot (temperature) but that was nothing compared to the hot spices. We eat Thai, Mexican, foods with Sriracha, etc., but this was inedible due to the spicy heat. No warning on the menu (and this is Scotland which is not known for it's heavy use of jalapenos and serrano chilis in its cuisine). The waitress came by to ask "how is everything" and when told the dish was inedible, she simply apologized before coming back 10 minutes later to offer some sour cream. This is a hard "no" for us. I should add that 3 and maybe even 4 stars would be given for a more accurate description on the menu and a more satisfactory response from management.

This place has a lively atmosphere with the attached bar. The cocktails were good and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. Good value too. I would highly recommend the Beef Satay starter! I finally decided on a T bone but unfortunately they had already sold out by 1730! The place was busy so I would book a table but it was worth it. Just don’t follow Apple maps .... it has it’s old address!

Restaurant area was tidy and staff ok. My pint of Estella tasted bad but I had a fresh one after raising the issue with the manager. The glass may have been dirty as the next pint wasn’t too bad. I had a burger with extra of haggis. The chilli and cheese was not spicy or remotely hot in flavour. The burger was ok, bit dry and flavourless. Well presented and ok just a bit pricey for what it was. I wanted desert and had set my mind on the 10 dollar shake which was on the online menu. When I asked the waitress advised and new menu roll out and this was not an option. She did try to get the kitchen to make it anyway but they declined. I don’t know how hard it is to make ice cream and liquor for desert but it clearly wasn’t happening. I was offered a list of other deserts but lost my appetite waiting for a response. All in all, an ok place for a meal but not amazing, hence 2 stars.
