there was a bone in my curry, the curry itself was very watery, and the chicken had a bone in which i swallowed and gagged back up. it did get here very fast and was hot. this does not excuse the fact that there was a bone in it.

This was the best Indian in town under the old owners. Now under new ownership, it has gone down to easily the worst in town. Everything is at least twice the price it was; I wouldn't mind if it was worth it, but the food is now just bland salty rubbish.

We ordered takeaway through Deliveroo. The only thing which we thought wasn’t up to stranded was our delivery driver. As we have a young child and he knocked for 10 seconds and very loudly. Not sure why as I had to shout to ask him to stop. Beautiful food ordered, chicken tikka, very moist and tasty flavours, comes in some sort of stock, korma was very creamy and coconutty just how I like it chicken also very tender. We also ordered garlic naan, which was a hit with my partner and my toddler very yummy food and wasn’t an hour wait as stated which was very good too. Came 20 minutes early. Food is fresh and definitely made to order. Very pleased. Was given a tiny amount of free salad in a bag but wasn’t very appealing to us. They also included a free lemony, herby garlic sauce to accompany the garlic naan that was very nice also. Happy with this takeaway. As we hadn’t ordered Indian before but was lovely my compliments to the restaurant.

Me and my family have been ordering from here for as long as I can remember. It has recently changed owners and everything has gone downhill. Used to be the best Indian takeaway in town, now I wouldn’t order from there if it was free. Food bland and no longer made with love and passion whereas the previous owners put all there passion into making it into what is was, which was great hot tasty food. Sad state of affairs!

Ordered food! Paid for the food waited a hour food never arrived. Contacted the restraunt to have a woman shouting down the phone that it is not her issue! Vile customer service!! Do not order from this place

Have to say I'm gutted to write this but this used to be our favourite Indian, cheap, cheerful and super tasty but they seem to have been taken over. The staff were rude and unhelpful. Food was ok but not as good as usual, less meat and the onion bhaji are awful! They used to be the best bhajis, massive round and full of flavour, but this time they were flat, small and tasteless! Disappointed with them! Will now have to find a new Indian takeaway!

I’ve eaten from here many times and always have a meat thali. Tonight however the food was very poor and even the masala tasted like a tomato soup. Don’t know if there’s a new chef ??? Sad to say this will be my last visit

We used to rely on saagaa to provide a tasty, generous and fairly priced take out Indian. The last year however has shown a steady decline in all these points. We gave them another shot and we received a completely unrecognisable meal. The onion bhajis are smaller and overcooked. The keema nan was smaller and missing the thick red keema. The sauce was watery and bland and tasted of tomato soup, which someone elses review stated. The chicken tikka was fewer and less marinated. All for a lot more money. They must have changed chefs and cut corners as nothing compares to the quality we used to enjoy from the restaurant. Thanks for the good years but I'm out.

Such a shame used to really enjoy the food, but tonight was awful, onion bhaji was flat, over cooked and stodgy on the inside, curry lacked any flavour tasted like lumps of chicken in cream of tomato soup. Nothing like it used to be have definitely lost customers here.

Gutted we didn’t check the reviews before we ordered. but we’ve been ordering from here for years. So thought it would be ok. Always had delicious food. We normally order for 8-10 people on Xmas Eve. Glad we ordered tonight as we won’t be ordering again. The food was cold and tasteless. Feel absolutely gutted as it was our favourite Indian. It must be under new ownership from the refurbishment. Gutted.

Ordered food got told it will be 15 minutes 45 later rang back up and got told they only had one driver fair enough got told it will be another 15 but the food is sat waiting for delivery so made the choice to go pick it up then on arrival had to wait another 10 for them get my food what they said was already ready apparently anyway get home don’t know if it’s a new chief or new owners but the korma was so full cream that it was white tikka wasn’t very flavourful onion bhaji looked more like a hash brown it really wasn’t worth wasting over a hour of my life on will not be returning shame really been a regular customer for years and they must of not paid the bill as there was no lights on the kitchen so guessing I’m looking at a night on the toilet will be handing in the bill for the toilet roll

New owner has gone for cheap version of food. Korma and Punjabi not the same plane and no creamines on food. Pilau rice totally ruined. Lost clients here I . afraid.

Bang average curry. The fact it's cash only is very disconcerting also. The curry was watery and where top level Currys have both heat and flavour, this struggled to meet even my own homemade levels of balance. Chicken was cooked beautifully in fairness but won't be going here again.

The samosa and keema naan are really good. The flavour of the meat is beautiful.

Really tasty food. The onion bhaji was really good. For £12.95 I had a main, rice, poppadom, chapati, onion bhaji a yoghurt dip and a small bag of salad . The best value meal I've had in a long time and it was excellent.

Something was in my food, nearly broke my tooth. Went in to tell them and was assaulted and had food thrown at us! Avoid!

Absolutely disgusting service! Found a stone in nan bread took back and thrown yoghurt at me. Followed by a remote controller and Gave me loads of abuse

Food very cold!!! Long delivery time won't have it delivered again. Paper bag smelt very strong of cigarette smoke very off putting. Not happy

Used Saagar for 15 years plus on a regular basis....... Rang up for an order to be delivered tonight and was told, in no uncertain terms that they were too busy for us to order a Thali. Just remember, your last customer service is the one you are remembered by.

Staying at wagtail Country Park so looked at reviews for local Indians, we were not disappointed the food was amazing and the garlic nan was the best I've had for a long time. The meal for two was £23.00 such good value. You will not be disappointed we will definitely be back.

I wish U.S. Indian restaurants made lamb vindaloo like Saagar. Probably the spiciest thing I’ve ever had in my life, but I would order it all the time when I studied at the Harlaxton Manor.

This is by far the best indian in Grantham, been coming here for years and has never let me down, food is always hot and delicious and doesn’t take long to come. There’s such a variety on the menu always hard to choose what to eat.

we have just had a stop off from the a1 and popped into Grantham in the wild hope of a quality tea that did not involve a service station. came across the saagar tandoori and just had a quality curry whilst sitting in sainsbury big car park. Will definitely return another day and will incorporate it into our itenary

Always great food from Saagar - genuinely never had a bad meal from here and I'm fussy about my curry! Try the chicken Dhansak it's great. Don't let the rather shabby look of the place put you off nothing else comes close for miles around. See you soon!

Best thing about this food was throwing it in the bin. Waited nearly 2.5 hours and put 3 phone calls in, each time the driver was 5-6 mins away (we are only in long Bennington) then they gave us the drivers number so after speaking to him he had just left the shop. We only used this is our village Indian takeaway is closed on a Tuesday, will not be using again. Will just make sure we don’t get Indian on a Tuesday anymore.

Simply the best... One of the oldest traditional Indian takeaways in Grantham. Prompt delicious curry delivered to your door. Or pop in order and have a quick pint at spoons before collect... Try the Thali and veg/non-veg and your indecision of what curry to have tonight will b rewarded. Never had a bad one xx enjoy....

Best takeaway in Grantham, very reasonable and the best Indian food I've had! Have ordered from here 20 odd times and every time it's been fresh and brilliant have never had a single bad thing to say about it!

Perhaps the one of the very few indian takeaway in Grantham but sadly fails to deliver authentic taste. However it's very cheap and plenty of options to choose from the menu and staff at front desk were good. I think it's more customised for English taste rather than giving importance to the authentic Indian taste. Except sheek kebab and chicken tandoori all other items were below par. Chicken Biriyani was hopeless. If you want mild curry, try it. If you want authentic Indian taste, please ignore.

Best Indian food in Grantham. The decor has to be seen to be believed, it is absolutely hideous. Behind the counter is a print featuring an enormous Swan and people, it is so disgusting it passes through bad taste and comes out the other side into the sunny valley of desirability.

Had this takeaway a few times now and has always been nice. We have tried a few in Grantham and have found this one to be the best all rounder . Excellent chicken kaurma and always comes fast and hot. Would definatly recommend.

Well we had this Indian Take away for the 1st time last night and wow it was amazing.I had Chicken Pathia which was the best Pathia I have ever tasted perfect !!!! Will not go anywhere else now for my Indian food EXCELLENT!!!!!
