We use itabashi at least twice a month. Consistently good sashimi and nigiri. Try sake don for take away. Went last night with family, resto good, but seemingly lacking Japanese faces these days

Lovely! A great find. Suprisngly authentic. The hand rolls were beautify, a big pile of noodles. Swift service that could not have been more charming.

I discovered Itabashi in September 2021, it was a rare gem. There was a good selection of Japanese food, a fine selection of plum wine and nice staff working there. There was a super skinny japanese waiter that was always smiling and would explain and suggest dishes. The Korean owner was always at the sushi bar, cutting and torching fish for the various sushi and sashimi. The food was fresh and fragrant. My favourites were pork Ramen that used to come in a large metal bowl, wakame su (sea weed) and the mixed vegetable tempura. I was so happy that for Christmas I ordered a full lunch of take away sushi for all my family, expensive but good quality.... everything freshly made. Two years later, a lot of things have changed, and not in the best direction. The elegant super skinny japanese chap has long gone, replaced by a multitude of teenagers that seem to change on a monthly basis. They are friendly, but clueless. They forget drinks and forget dishes and you constantky have to remind them that something is missing. They are not interested in the clients, they are students and come and go. The owner is not there preparing sushi anymore, replaced by youths as well. The Ramen is now served in bowl half the size of the previous ones and the pork as I found out in the last visit, can be described as "traces"...the soup is tasty but basically more suited for vegetarians due the nil amount of meat. The menu has not changed in three years, but quantities and interest in quality are not the same. The place has lost its charme and attention to detail is gone. It is now an average place which is sad considering that it is in the middle of affluent Teddington.

Staying nearby, our son loves Sushi so booked a table. Helpful staff and pleasant surroundings. The food was top notch no wonder the restaurant was busy. I have to say the grilled eel was my favourite, well we were in London! Will visit again next time we are down.

This is the best greasy spoon in the area. Far exceeding the quality and service of others which in comparison are poor standard. My favourites are the home cooked lamb and chicken curry with rice and also the authentic jerk chicken with salad and coleslaw. A wide variety of breakfasts served too with good quality ingredients. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. It's a very relaxing and ambient environment. Service is quick. Delivery available too for local businesses or individuals. Definitely the only five star greasy spoon around and competitively priced.

Utterly disappointing experience — would not recommend. We had a very poor experience at this restaurant. Despite the place being nearly empty (only one other table was occupied), we had to wait 10 minutes just to be seated. The service throughout was extremely slow and unprofessional. It took 30 minutes just to get a glass of water after we asked, and our food arrived over 45 minutes after placing the order. We ordered the Dhaba Chicken Curry and Brinjal Masala. The chicken curry was decent, but the brinjal dish was very underwhelming — it mostly consisted of potatoes, with barely any brinjal flavor. Even worse, the dish felt like it had been microwaved unevenly, as parts of it were hot while others were cold. To top it all off, they added a 12.5% service charge to the bill. When I requested to opt out due to the poor service, the waitress insisted it was mandatory — which I found completely unacceptable, especially for a table of two with such subpar service. Overall, the restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food, service, and ambience. I will definitely not be returning, and I do not recommend this place to others.

Unfortunately the restaurant did not honour their own lunch menu as stated on their website on our visit today. Despite me checking that they were serving lunch, and showing the waitress the lunch menu on their website. When the bill came, we were charged evening menu prices. The waitress was not keen to resolve the issue, doubled down and insisted the website was only for takeaway orders. It clearly says dine in. Poor service and misleading for customers. Such a shame.
