Food was lovely and well presented, staff were very friendly, would definitely recommend and will return, this was our first visit.

2nd time visiting Istanbul, fantastic service and great food on both occasions, this time we went for the set meal for 2 £48 gets you 2 cold starters, 2 hot starters, a big sharing platter and 2 deserts. Fantastic value for money and would highly recommend. We will be back, Thank you!

Great little Turkish restaurant situated in Barnsley town centre the staff are very friendly and helpful the food is of a good standard and a wide variety of dishes are available, the pricing is competitive & reasonable for the lower to medium budget.

Visited on Saturday after a recommendation. I must say what a gem, the place is brilliant, staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The food was absolutely brilliant, only thing I was disappointed with I couldn't finish it all. My go to Restaurant in Tarn now.

Went last night with 10 friends and everyone one of us had a lovely meal.no complaints and would definitely go again. Staff very welcoming. Meal served quick and was hot and tasty. Me and hubby shared the platter and it was amazing.

Very disappointing. Been a number of times, and it was lovely. Waited 40 minutes for them to take our order. Then another 30 mins for the starters to come, when they did, there was 1 missing. Mains came after another wait. I had sword fish it was over seasoned and very salty. Others in the party were also not happy with their food and it was not very warm.We had a party of 15 but they only set a table for 11 meaning 2 of our party were sat on their own. All in all, not a good experience. Think they have bitten off more than they can chew.

Popped in straight after the match today, on review recommendations, they were just cleaning up, welcomed myself and my colleague in, we just want feeding, and wow, fed like kings. Beyti kebab, the picture don’t do it justice. If you’re in or near Barnsley, and love food, get booked in. One of the best plates of food ever. Staff was amazing considering we were just in and out! Can’t wait to go again!

Wow! How have we never been here before?? The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more accommodating. They helped me choose my food (due to seed oil allergies) over the phone before our booking. Nothing was too much trouble. The most tasty, flavoursome, beautifully presented food on a plate. Portions excellent and service fantastic. Complimentary bread and dips to start. Cannot wait to visit again! 😊

We went to another Turkish restaurant across the road before & asked for gluten free options but they didn’t seem to know anything so left & came to this restaurant. We asked for gluten free & the server let me know that the menu was labelled which was a nice relief. Service was very quick & we ordered starter & main. They brought complimentary bread & dios with gluten free bread which was very welcome. I would definitely recommend this restaurant & be back soon x

We come here a few times every month for three simple reasons: Superb food, fantastic service and great value for money. The team at Istanbul always go out of their way to make us feel so welcome, and the quality of the food, wine and service are always absolutely faultless. I’ve lived in Barnsley all my life, and I’ve eaten in almost every restaurant in Barnsley (including the posh ones on the outskirts of Barnsley), and I would say that in my opinion this is without a doubt the best restaurant in Barnsley. If you live in Barnsley, or you are visiting Barnsley, then the Istanbul restaurant really should be on your list to try; I promise you won’t be disappointed!

I love the restaurant and have been many times in the past and this became my favourite place to eat in the area. I noticed on entering last week that it felt different, with different staff and wondered then if it been taken over as I'd never been in with the previous owner not been there to give the usual warm welcome. All in all the food I ordered was ok, the Salmon on the other hand was a big disappointment, not the same portion size and pan fried, rather than grilled on the Turkish Grill. I'd recommend going back to the previous Salmon as to be honest I would order again what I ordered last week. The welcome to the restaurant was still a very friendly vibe and 3 of the 4 people were very happy with the order, but the Salmon was a big step down in size and quality with clearly been pan fried. Fethi would be hugely missed if he has sold the business and I wish him well for the future.

We had a set meal for x2 people, thought this was really good value for money. The food was good, and plenty of it. We wasn’t keen on the house red wine, but this could be us been picky. Would definitely visit again.

Like many others I was apprehensive with Fethi selling the business, but need not have worried. A lovely meal with family tonight with the most friendly and helpful staff I've ever met. Really nice and authentic Turkish food and excellent value for money. Can't wait to return again.

Called in as a party of four on a Saturday night and it was very busy - which is good to see. Despite how busy it was, service was excellent without being fussy. We all enjoyed our meals and they were excellent. Will definitely return and I will try something different just to start working my way through the excellent looking menu.

Very friendly atmosphere and staff, they were very approachable and pleasantly attentive throughout. The food portions were generous and they offer takeaway packaging if you don't manage to finish your meal. The food was delicious, meat tender and very flavorsome, a variety of options available on the menu without being overwhelming. The restaurant and facilities were clean and tidy throughout and I would happily recommend going to this restaurant to family and friends.
